“I stepped off the stage and floated towards the heavens…”

Former mind reader Leticia Faye thought her music hall days were behind her - but charismatic preacher Joshua King has other ideas.

With little persuasion, Leticia becomes part of King’s act; magic mixed with a rabble-rousing call for revolution.

Leticia enjoys the limelight, but is soon plagued by glimpses of a terrifying future.

Is King’s ‘gospel’ all it seems to be? And what ‘role’ does he really want her to play?

Curtain Call is about Leticia Faye Collins (played here, as in the TV show, by Nancy Barrett). We take a break from the events of 1973 to go back to 1857.

In 1857, Leticia Faye has married Desmond Collins and lives in New York. She's frustrated because she doesn't fit in with the high society women that are appropriate for a wife of Desmond Collins. Leticia is blessed/cursed with visions of the future. She used to be a mentalist performer at music halls before she married Desmond. She accidentally is on the scene of a riot, and is rescued by a man called Joshua King, who uses her abilities for his own benefit, eventually kidnapping her and taking her to Collinwood to use the Stairway in Time. Leticia uses her abilities to win the day and trap Joshua King, returning to her life in New York, but no longer bothered by her inability to fit in with posh society.

All in all, this was a fun little story. I always liked Collinwood's Stairway in Time, so it's nice to have it in use here. And it's always nice to have the original actors and actresses from the TV show reprise their roles.

The weakest Dark Shadows audio I have listened to so far but still enjoyed it. Nancy Barrett does a good performance as Leticia Faye and the story is interesting but could be better. 7/10
