She was given away in silence. He took her without knowing why.
Elyra has lived in silence for five years, broken by a night no one dares mention. When her pack signs a mysterious alliance with Alpha Kade’s powerful clan, she is offered in a contract—as payment.
But Alpha Kade didn’t come for a mate. And certainly not for a mute, shunned she-wolf with haunted eyes.
Still, something about Elyra keeps him from sending her back. The contract should have ended the war. Instead, it begins something far darker—something neither of them saw coming. As Kade unravels the truth buried inside Elyra’s silence, he discovers a past woven with betrayal, abuse, and secrets that could destroy both their packs.
Elyra never wanted a second chance at life. But in Kade’s eyes, she finds something she never expected—a reason to fight back.
But healing comes at a price. And when the lies that caged her finally begin to break, the past demands payment—in blood.
"She didn’t speak. But her silence screamed louder than any truth Kade had ever known."
I used to be a wild child, world traveler and hellraiser for most of my life. But a decade ago, I fell for a grizzled alpha male who swept me off my feet, married me, and kept me barefoot and pregnant! Soon, I was happy to have become the wholesome, ordinary suburban housewife -- a role I'd never dreamed for myself. While I might be a wife, mom, and yoga instructor on the outside, the hot, steamy, and raunchy fantasies and memories of my former have life never stopped stirring around inside my head!
Well, once I got tired of keeping them hidden away, I decided to write all those thoughts down, making for some white hot stories. Aggressive alpha males, bad boys with something to prove, sinfully taboo relationships, and situations that’ll take your breath away. If you love it extra dirty, extra hot, and extra naughty, these are the books for you!
Drop me a line and tell me what you like! I always love hearing from my readers.
I stumbled upon this book due to the Algorithm. I do love wolf shifter romances. I’ve read a kazillion of them over the years. There are amazing ones, mediocre ones and those that I wouldn’t recommend. The latter are rare though. In this case I wouldn’t recommend this particular book. I’m glad I only paid 3.50€ and I liked the blurb and quickly checked the GR reviews but only for the stars.
I got disappointed after 1.5 chapters. There are so many issues with this book I could write a book about it.
*1. The blurb is totally misleading!*
He took her without knowing why.

"She didn’t speak. But her silence screamed louder than any truth Kade had ever known.">
You’ll see in the first two chapters that this is not true at all and Alpha Kade wasn’t oblivious but planned everything beforehand.
————————— *2. Tons of discrepancies* Just an example is the wolf accompanying Kade to Wildwood to retrieve Elyra. That wolf is called Nyx. She disappeares into the void when they arrived and suddenly the sister of Kade is there and is called Nyx too.
The timelines are not making sense at all. The original succession contract is dated 1987 when apparently Elyria father was about 20 years old. Around the same time the Grandfather dies and according to the contract his son would inherit with a regent until he is 21. That regent is also named but never pops up and it’s never mentioned why Marcus had the chance to state Caleb as too young and taking power himself. There is a contract, people already named for certain roles. That power grab doesn’t make sense.
Also Marcus wants to get rid of the Montgomery family but Caleb is being made Beta under his regime though he must certainly know that he is the heir. He then gets mated and at some point they have a child: Elyra.
Marcus kills them when she is 15. Why wait 15 or more years!? Elyra has a cousin, Leo, a few years younger. Meaning the Montgomery family has that branch. Where are those parents, the in laws?
Then there is Talia. The supposedly best friend of Elyra mother. She never tried to take care of Elyra after the fire. Never saw the scars!? Who was the medic? Why did no one report or talk about the injury? She was used as a servant for 5 years. Everyone in that pack saw her and ignored her and her treatment! No way could the regime of Marcus be that crazy that not one single person helped her! And if everyone ignored her how come that Kade 6 hours away knew!? This doesn’t add up either.
Next is that contract where Elyra is given away. Seriously that legal jargon couldn’t have been that mysterious if he found all the incriminating passages half an hour later!
But back to timelines! The fire and the killing of her family happened when she was 15. How can a 15 year old not know anything about her parents and grandparents? How doesn’t anyone know about that family’s legacy if they were so important!? Only 5 freaking years passed. That’s nothing!!! The way she remembers her parents it’s rather feeling like she lost them at 5 and 15 years passed. That would make much more sense.
And don’t let me get started about Kade. HE was friends with her parents before she was even born. Uhuuuu!?!?!? He is 34, that means he was younger than 14 and friends with adults so many hours away!? Their families so incredibly close and all!?!?! Then why didn’t Elyra knew him as a child growing up? They would have had at least 15 years to know each other but don’t.
Apparently they live in modern days with SUVs, computers, flash drives and phones. But no one is really using phones. Only once is the pack bond mentioned. Something other books in this genre would use in abundance. At the end of the book Kade and the council do not arrive in cars but on horseback. This is just silly.
So Elyra was treated as a servant, only cleaning, cooking and doing garden work for 5 years. She’s had noooooo further education past being 15. The way she is then leading the council meetings and pack after Marcus is demoted doesn’t make sense because she wouldn’t have been able to evolve past a stupid hormonal teenage girl with a trauma. And that is another issue. That healer is no mage magically healing her untreated scar tissues and 5 years old trauma and year long abuse. And definitely not that fast in a matter of days or mere weeks.
World building? Not happening. Shifterverse lore is only there in fragments and hinted at here and there and never picked up again.
This is annoying. I can’t anymore… —————— *3. Style and construction*
I do not have proof of course but due to the above mentioned discrepancies, the repeated bullet points of her noting down memories and succession details as well as all the mistakes in the timeline, I strongly assume this is at least in part being AI fabricated.
It adds up when checking the publication dates of all the authors other books. Several series or standalone in rapid succession!? This can’t be right and I’m annoyed I paid for it and wasted my time with it. There are so many authors out there creating real literature and here we most probably have someone just interested in making a quick buck without too much effort. Sad.

This is a great book for those who like clean romance and a multi layered plot. Wonderful main characters who face their fears and grow stronger. The silent wolf who finds her voice and the feared alpha who learns to work together. The story keeps you guessing and has more twists and turns than a roller coaster but the end is worth it. Well worth the read.
The Alpha’s Contract: A Dark Possessive Fated Mate Shifter Romance wasn’t quite what the title promised. There was nothing particularly dark or possessive about this story — it read more like a straightforward redemption romance than the intense, brooding fantasy I expected. The plot itself was okay, but it felt repetitive at times, with certain scenes and emotions being revisited without much new development. I also really wanted more about Elyra’s wolf form — it was mentioned just enough to spark curiosity but never explored in a satisfying way. That missing depth made her journey feel incomplete. Kade, on the other hand, was less of an alpha antihero and more of a savior figure. He rescued Elyra from servitude and helped her reclaim her place as Alpha, which was nice to read, but didn’t match the “dark, possessive” promise the title hinted at. Overall, it’s an okay story with good potential, but it didn’t deliver on what it marketed itself as. Almost a DNF for me, but I pushed through hoping for more depth that never quite arrived.
I do love my werewolf books. This was a good one, it was different than than the usual ones where you have lots of sex. Lots of shifting. Lots fighting and killing and but I had a really good story. The plotline and the characters really grabbed your attention and held your attention. Can't wait to read more by this author.
I was unsure what I was in for, but couldn’t put this book down. The writing was good and flowed well, and the story kept me turning the pages. My only complaint was there was no follow up to the private conversation Kade had with Elyra, but the rest of the book was great!
It was long winded as most of these alpha ones are. It waa good though because I wanted more apice, more romance and even a little pup in the epilogue. The writer was so focussed on building her utopia, the mate bond seemed more of a business partnership than a marriage. Bit preachy.
Wow it was an awesome read, I loved the book everything. The plot , adventure ,strength and courage. I would to see more from this author. It is totally worth reading
Great message showing that your disability doesn't have to be the end of your purpose and that you can still make a difference in a world that has been manipulated and deceived by evil. Never give up!
I really enjoyed this story. It didn't drag on and on allowing me to get bored, but moved at a steady pace. If you like werewolf stories, you'll like this one. It kept you guessing about what would happen next.
