When you see life through the eyes of a vampire, you see the true colors of the world.

Well.... this was SOOOO not what I was expecting. Just like book 1 - thought I had an idea how this would go and well HAHAHA Jokes on ME!

Mia has almost let her humanity go

and she has started to embrace the vampire side of herself. The whole book she struggles to fight off her inner vampire, who calls herself Maya. A little alter ego action.

Then there is Evan - her trainer.... SWOON- they both want one another but its off limits.

There is a ton of chemistry between the two. He also is supposed to help Mia keep Maya at bay. That really doesn't work out too well.

The ending of this book had me BUG EYED.

I was like WHAT HUH??? WTAF just happened?? I don't know if this series will have another book or not. But either way- the ending was like so unexpected that I could almost be satisfied with its conclusion....maybe...

I am trying to gather my thoughts. This book drove me mad at some times but I was fascinated with the entire story at the same time. Feeling too much and nothing right now. I want more answers damn it.

I am trying to control myself but I can't lol Image and video hosting by TinyPic

So it begin with Mia as a vampire in her new life serving the queen and we meet her trainer Evan. I instantly liked Evan and really really wanted them together. The entire 50% was frustrating because there was so much chemistry with those two and so much sexual tension but they just couldn't be together.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic . They both wanted it but Evan kept fighting it but yet teasing her...he was so Damn...HOT...and sexy and yeah you get the picture.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Mia was driving me mad though her weak character was pissing me off so when Maya came to the picture I was instantly happy but nervous at the same time. Maya was the opposite of Mia she was strong and determine.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic .
Evan's teasing and playing games with Mia helped leashes Maya out. So Evan was pissed at himself and I don't blame him, it was his fault LOL
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Maya wanted to be the Queen And would not stop until she got what she wanted. I was happy and devastated at the same time with so many mixed emotions.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic .
She got her wish though and that was a bit freaky and scary for me because even though I want a strong female character, I just don't know about this.

I'm conflicted right now on how this book ended. Cliffhanger much?! OMG OMG YES OMG...I'm a bit devastated that I have to wait for the next book...I need answers damn it and I need the next book like now LOL

Like seriously I just wanted to throw up at the end...like are you for REAL?!

No, just NOOOOOOO....

But I still loved the book because it kept me hooked, intrigue and on the edge so can't wait to read the last one.

Why, OH Why Ms Riley have you done this to me?? This has come around to a full circle and now I'm left hanging.

I have now found a new series I am addicted to and my squishy feelings are all over the place right now - an emotional heart-attack has taken over my body.

Ms. Riley has never disappointed me with her writing and her stories...they are unique and thought provoking.

Damn...my brain is in a coma right now and I just can get these jumbled feelings out through my fingers.

I am not really much of a paranormal reader...the occasional shifter book, maybe a zombie thriller here and there and of course, a bloody vampire story. I have not read a really good vampire book since Interview With The Vampire by Anne Rice (hot and dangerous) or The Twilight Series (light and romantic) and then earlier this year I was introduced to Limerence by Claire C. Riley. That first book was lusty, sensual, romantic and sickly twisted and I loved the romance between Mia and her 100 year old vampire employer...it was a battle of wills as he wanted to earn her love and not take her against her will.
Limerence II starts off a year after Mia's life was forever altered and she is left fighting with a very strong and powerful dark force inside of herself. Evan is a strong Bastion vampire (he has more powers than a Pawn vampire) who is her trainer...he tries to teach her to control herself as she is a new vampire and has a lot to learn about discipline and what it takes to be part of the Queen's army of vampires that she is building to fight the mysterious Mr. San.
I couldn't help but think as I was reading, that if the author was a vampire she would probably be Mia...because even though she has lost her humanity, she still "feels" emotions with Evan and has a playful, flirty side to her. Mia has a vicious creature inside of her that she is fighting to control...something that thinks nothing of taking human lives and killing with no remorse...and who would gladly kill any shred of decency left in Mia and take everything she wants, including the handsome and powerful Evan.
The relationship between Evan and Mia is forbidden by the Queen..he is to train her but they are not allowed to be lovers...so this sets the stage for some of the most erotic, edge of insanity and yet playful encounters as they must resist the intense sexual attraction they have for each other. When something happens to Mia that forever changes who she is in Evan's eyes (but not his dead, lonely heart), he really struggles and becomes torn by his feelings for who Mia was and the monster she has become.
I have to say that the descriptions of some of the "feedings" were so sensual and exciting that they could rival some of the hottest erotic romances I have read... and there is a room called the Commons...well let's just say that anything goes and "what happens in the Commons, stays in the Commons". I was alternating between hot and very hot as I was reading...so much excitement and action packed into one little book and with a love story SO intense and heart-breakingly tragic, that I was kept on edge until the very end. I was left with mixed emotions about the ending, not because it was bad, more because it was not what I was personally hoping for....but it made sense. Without giving away too much, there will be at some points threesomes, foursomes, couples and faces from the past all trying to fight for supremacy and for the ones they love.
"The things we do for love can never be forgiven"...couldn't have said it any better...
It will all make sense when you read it but please be sure to read book one first, or you will miss the history of how Mia came to be and nothing will really make sense.
I am not often surprised but more so disappointed when a sequel doesn't live up to the first book...however, this one more than exceeded my expectations and I actually loved it even more so than the original!

This book blew me away.

I read Limerence I over a year ago, and while the characters remained fresh in my mind, I didn't remember how much I loved it until I dove into its sequel.

In this book, we find that Mia has lost most of her memory of her previous life. All of the heartbreak from book 1 has been long forgotten. She's now training to become a Bastion in the Queen's army, and Evan is her trainer.

Every vampire is 'born' with a vampire within. The vampire that must be controlled. The evil within the good. Mia and Evan struggle to keep that evil contained.

The language that this author uses had me in swoony puddles most of the time. Considering his origin, he's much more like the 'traditional' vampire where his words drip with sensuality.

This was a very sexy book.

The book was fast-paced, but not rushed. It was sexy, but not over the top. And I felt like I was in the characters' shoes at all times.

If you're looking for a series that takes you on a hell of a ride and makes you feel like you're 'descending into madness,' I suggest you read Limerence.

Limerence II

You never know what to expect after an author’s debut.

Can they keep up the momentum and continuously improve? OR will they be a one-hit wonder?

Claire C Riley has proven time and time again that she has the chops for great writing. She pulls her readers deep into the worlds she creates, making them visualize and experience landscapes, sympathize with characters, and mourn when a beloved person perishes at her more-than-adept and murderously typing fingers.

I’ve followed this author from the beginning- before her debut was even published- and I knew she had something unique and definitive staying power.

Still, I wondered what her debut’s sequel would be like. How far had she come since its publication? Would she carry over details, stay consistent, or abandon the original ideas of her debut to create something completely left field.

Surprisingly, she did both of these things- retaining key details and the ‘feel’ of the original, while also creating a book that feels entirely new, fresh and with a standalone personality.

Readers will learn to accept new characters while still remembering the old (poor Oliver) throughout the beginning of the text, and then, towards the middle, readers will begin to feel like the old never existed, like this life, this book, was the one meant for Mia and her journey away from humanity, towards humanity, and ultimately away from it again- into a darkness beyond her control, a darkness called Maya.

Riley’s characters are realistic and engaging. The details in the book are original yet familiar. Limerence II can honestly be said to incorporate the best of traditional vampire lore with the wide-open imagination of the author, which is something I can respect. It’s not a re-hashing, it’s a re-imagining. And, like one other fan said some time ago- ‘No one does vampires like Claire C Riley’. And that’s because the only thing that sparkles in this book is the author’s wit (and the champagne-flavored blood served up in the coven cafeteria).

So crack open a bottle of red, settle down, and drink it in. Straight from the author’s veins, warm and toasty, Limerence II is an absolute treat for the senses.

Bloody Fangtastic!

If you liked Limerence, Then you'll love Limerence II. Limerence II takes everything from the first book and builds on it. It's more sexy and uncompromising. The book breaks down the passion and pain of vampiric love in a hedonistic and brutal way. Claire has delivered a fantastic story, Wrought with so many emotions that by the end of it you can't believe what has happened. (Which I believe to be the mark of a brilliant writer.) A truly brilliant book, Which coupled with Limerence should satisfy the thirst of any vampire fans! Outstanding!

I was given an arc copy for an honest review.

When you think of vampires-The originals burn in sunlight, their reflections can't be seen in mirrors, and nowadays they sparkle. But what they all have in common is that they are breathtakingly beautiful. Once in their sights you almost have no choice but to be theirs, so you would think..
From Limerence and now Limerence II Claire has put her own twist on the classic vampire story and made it her own. In LI I was automatically compelled to like Mr.Breckt because vampires are alluring, handsome, and well sexy. Mr.Breckt was all those things but the story wasn’t your typical vampire gets the girl- no Claire showed the darker side and took things a lot darker with LII.

*Quick review of LI*
In LI we meet the irresistible Mia and the mysterious new owner of The Island Mr.Breckt. There’s something about her that Mr.Breckt can't seem to ignore. He is not use to being told no, shouldn't be told no, for it is part of his power as a Bastion(a vampire with a rare and particular power). But Mia fights his advances until his obsession destroys everything she loves.
* LII
With the promise of Mr.Breckt to suffer - then his truth death, Mia has pledge her allegiance to the Queen. At the time his demise was all that mattered to Mia, for Oliver’s death was magnified with her turning (once vampire every emotion is felt 10 fold) and Mia had wanted nothing but to see Mr.Breckt meet the same fate. But as time went on the love that Mia had held so dear no longer mattered, it was another life, a life that was no more-
“I feel nothing for my previous life now. Not pain, nor anger. The bloodlust and constant training have blotted out any feelings and emotions I once had for that previous life, and now I just am. And that previous life means nothing to me anymore. Now I must focus on the long future ahead of me.
I will be her servant, until I am not.
I must be strong.
And I must never give up”
Mia, a relatively new vampire she has a lot to learn, and under the rule of the Queen she is ordered to do just that- to train and learn by Evan another Bastion vampire. Her training is of the utmost importance as to all Bastions and Pawns (standard vampires) alike, for they are in training to wage war against Mr.San(the Queen’s oldest enemy). Having to train together every single day, Mia and Evan start developing feeling for one another, but of course are forbidden to act on upon their emotions-for Evan belongings to the Queen.
Fighting against her feelings towards Evan isn’t the only demon Mia is battling- “With the extra power that came with being a Bastion, something new developed—something more dangerous that threatened to devour each and every one of us if we could not control it. Within each of us—each Bastion—lay a passenger vampire. A vampire who was stronger and more evil than all the world’s hatred put together. If left to grow and takeover the bodies they hid in, and not controlled, tamed, and put back to sleep, all hell would break loose. Or so I have been told.”
“She resides inside of me. She is strong. She is my tormentor, but I am strong, and she has not won control yet.”
Will Mia be able to keep her demons at by or will she be too overwhelmed and in a moment of weakness let her passenger vampire slip to the surface. And what would that mean for Mia?
My silver lining- "In the end, there can only be one survivor."
After finishing LII we know it most certainly is not the end. And I’m a HEA kind of girl so I’m holding on to a sliver of hope.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date October 8, 2014

When you see life through the eyes of a vampire, you see the true colors of the world.

It’s been almost a year since Mia’s life was forever altered, and each day is a battle as she fights the dark vampire trapped within her. She is strong, and powerful, and she wants control. She will do anything to be free. Even if it means destroying them both.

Evan, a strong Bastion vampire is fighting a darkness of his own. And though their Queen won’t allow it, Mia’s connection with him is intense & addictive. They find it impossible to stay apart. But as their emotions grow stronger, Mia fears Evan’s secrets will destroy the very strength she needs to keep her inner vampire under control.

Is she strong enough to survive a love which is not allowed, while fighting the monster within?

The Queen is sick and the world Mia has only just come to know is changing. In the end, there can only be one survivor.

•••••••••••

LIMERENCE 2 is the second installment in Claire C. Riley’s contemporary, adult paranormal The Obsession UF/thriller series focusing on new vampire Mia Lawrence. The storyline continues approximately nine to twelve months following Mia’s change from human to vampire and in the ensuing months Mia has been learning to control her ‘inner vampire’-and has not been very successful.

The storyline follows the training and education of Mia Lawrence. Evan is a warrior; a vampire assigned to teach and train Mia in the ways of fighting and self defense but Evan’s attraction to Mia is hindering his ability to stay focused. As the Vampire Queen continues to warn Evan about Mia’s impending doom, Evan’s building love for the reluctant vampire could be the end of everything he knows and loves.

Mia’s change to vampire at the hands of Robert Breckt (Limerence Book 1) has left Mia angry, betrayed and on the verge of turning bad. All vampires, have within them, an evil that could destroy the world and Mia’s inner vampire can no longer be controlled. She is growing stronger and will soon take over everything about Mia’s life.

Claire C Riley pulls the reader into a storyline that is graphically violent, aggressive and unforgiving. No one is safe; everyone will be targeted for destruction; and the man with whom Mia has fallen in love will be unable to control the woman he once knew. We can only hope that there is a little bit of Mia that remains within the heart and soul of a woman who once was able to love. As I stated in my previous review, Mia’s transformation from a love human female to a predator without any remorse is amplified when her ‘inner vampire’ explodes to the surface.

I received an ARC to give an honest review.
When I started reading this book I was a bit confused as to what was going on exactly. I had read book one but for some reason I could truly remember what had caused all this with Mia and Evan. So I literally pulled up book one and started reading the last two chapters of the book and that was when it clicked for me. It literally had been a little over a year since I read book one and I have read plenty of other books in that time period.

So where Limerence 2 starts is where Mia is training with Evan and she is having to pretty much pay her loyalty to the Queen for saving her.
Now Evan is only suppose to be training Mia and teaching her to have self control and to fight for the Queen against the enemy from book one. Especially while she has another part of her a creature that is fighting and begging to be free.
But of course we all know that when two hot vampires are training and getting close what is going to happen? Yep you guessed it, they just have that attraction to each other and Evan knows he is not suppose to be with Mia EVER! Queen's orders. But who ever truly listens in a story.
When they both happen to disobey the orders, well lets just say things start to go down hill from there.
We end up meeting this creature that wants to reek havoc on humans and wants the previous Queen dead. But the question is, can Mia be saved, and will the poison run through her body forever changing her?
You can tell there is a lot of sexual frustrations between Mia and Evan and it just breaks your heart to see them want to be together but being lovers is forbidden. Now there is a Common room that Mia is not suppose to go to, but you know this rule breaker is just going to do it. And we get a look into it. It is a very sexual and hot place for a vampire to be in.
There are some hot moments, some killing moments and some oh what the heck is Evan going to do now?
I do wonder if there will be a book three in the works as I do enjoy this author's style of writing and how she can capture you into the world of hot vampires.

Just like the first book in the series, I went into reading it with a bit of hesitation.

Also, like the first book in the series, I spent the first half of the book feeling that it probably wasn't really the book for me.

And just like the first in the series, I spent the second half of the book flying through pages wanting to see what happens next.

I don't read much for romance novels, although I've found the numbers of such increasing over the past couple years. As such, I don't know much about the expectations of the genre. However, what I do know of the genre makes me think that Riley is slyly attempting to throw that genre on the concrete floor and repeatedly bash its head into a gory mess.

The first fifty percent of Limerence II seems to read as fairly standard romance fare. Boy and girl are in love, it's forbidden, they do things anyways. It's almost exactly when you hit the center of the book where suddenly the entire tone of the book changes and this becomes much much more, where it becomes a unique monster of a book, guaranteed to keep you rushing toward the end. In fact, if this book were just the second half, I would easily give it five stars. Because I'm not one for romance, the first half of the book cuts it down by one.

But that shouldn't keep you from reading this one. In fact, if you are a romance reader, this is just the type of thing you NEED to read to see what Riley can do with a story. If you're not a romance reader, simply skim over the first fifty percent, until the book switches over to PART 2, and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Riley loves her monsters and knows how to treat them right. And when she finally allows her monsters to be freed, we see that they are dark, and scary, and still don't sparkle.

Pick this one up now!

Mia lost everything from her old life and in order to get revenge on the man that took it all from her she gave her oath to serve the vampire queen for the rest of her immortal life. The one thing Mia didn't expect was Evan. He is her trainer, her friend, and he's starting become so much more. But no matter how strongly they feel for each other the Queen forbids it.
With her heightened vampire emotions it's not long before Mia is spinning out of control and once Maya enters the picture all hell breaks loose and nothing will ever be the same again.

I would have liked a little more backstory and it was still a bit repetitive in some spots but overall this is a very interesting story. It has so many crazy twists I was surprised more than once and I would certainly like to know what will happen next because nothing ever turned out the way I expected. In my opinion Limerence II is worth a read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, even though vampires aren't always my thing. It's well written (and edited btw) and the action is great. (and hot.) I was both frustrated with and cheering on the main characters. The thing that I love most about Claire's writing is that I don't always like the characters or their decisions, but I am always captured by the story she's telling, and often have a hard time putting down the book.

I would recommend this to anyone, and I am looking forward to book 3.

I have a love/hate relationship with paranormal books.  Especially vampire books.  For me it's a 'been there done that' sort of thing.  We all know the stories, the legends anything and everything there is to know.  So how does a writer make it new and interesting?  There are a few who can and do like J.R. Ward and Cassandra Clare to name a few.  But I also think of Claire Riley when I want a good vampire story.  There is something different in Claire's writing that I really appreciate.  She always writes about strong females that are usually better than their male counterparts in many ways.  Her ability to write clever and engaging dialogue is really what keeps me coming back for more though.  I appreciate her humor and I often find myself smiling when reading her books.  May seem strange considering the subject.  You just have to experience it for yourself.

Lets talk vampires shall we...namely in Limerence II.  I would definitely suggest reading book one first.  That will give you all the background info you need going into the second book.  However, it's not totally necessary as this book is written in such away that you could get away with starting here.  Mia has been a vampire for a year.  She's still adjusting and slowly embracing all that involved in the vampire lifestyle.  Yes lifestyle.  Being a vamp isn't easy!  There's training, feeding, learning vampire history.  It's not easy people the vampire struggle is real!

There is an interesting story line happening in Limerence II.  We have a Queen who rules all vampires and she's holding Mia captive only Mia doesn't know that.  Mia is falling for Ethan her vampire trainer who may or may not be falling for her but can't regardless because his loyalties lie with the Queen.  While all of this is going on Mia is struggling to control her inner vamp.  Very interesting indeed.  Apparently all vampires have an evil twin living inside them and they can't let the inner vamp take over or they'll be killed by the queen.  All of this has the makings for a very very good story.

I actually liked Mia's inner vampire.  I don't want to give too much away but she was so much more than Mia in many ways and I found myself hoping she would be let out so I could see just who she was.  The inner vamp was very intriguing to me and I really wish it had been developed more.  We're told that letting the inner vamp out was bad and all the other vamps just go along with it.  Why?  It's not really explored and I would love to know.  Why aren't there more revolts?  Where's the anarchy?  Every vampire just listens to the Queen cause she says so?   Does she have enemies...yes but we really don't learn much more than just that.  Do we get back story on the Queen...absolutely and it does come around full circle.  But it all felt to easy and I was looking for way more grit.  I wanted the shock value I got from the first book.  I wanted way way more on why there was an inner vampire, why was it so bad to let it free, why allow yourself to be ruled by this Queen when you're also tied to your maker?  Something else not addressed are the humans.  Do they know about the vampires?  Are they hunting the vampires?  What's their take on all the murders and disappearances?

Does this ruin the story?  NO WAY!  Even when I put the book down and walked away I was thinking about it.  I would stop to make dinner and found myself running to grab it and read while I cooked.  When I woke up in the morning I couldn't wait to get back into it.  That alone makes it a great book in my mind.  There is indeed an interesting story here and I very much look forward to seeing where it's headed.

I would put this book more in the horror category than the first. Mia has fully embraced being a vampire. She doesn't have those pesky human morals holding her back now. At the end of book one, I was a little heartbroken and totally rooting for Mia and wanting her to just be all big and bad.

This book begins with her just kind of lost. A vampire named Evan is trying to bring her around slowly. He's trying to help her out while still serving the Queen. It's a precarious situation. Mia isn't completely cruel, but she's just kind of there.
I said goodbye to the Mia I had once been, left her soul in Delamere forest, cold and forever wandering, never to be seen again, and after her passing came the new me. She was stronger and colder, harder and less emotional than the old me.

Basically she becomes a drone just going through the motions. The only spark in her life for the most part is when she is with Evan. And it's a dangerous spark. The feelings between Mia and Evan change everything.
I'm not supposed to feel love if I'm a vampire. Surely I'm a soulless, godless creature that cannot feel such emotions? Yet here they are, killing me not softly, but painfully—as if ripping my dead, black heart out from my body.

There are several surprises along the way, some deaths, returns, transformations and reversals. Some of it made me mad. I can't wait to read the next book while willing things to go the way that I want. ;) And I just have to mention the human soda fountains—creepy times two.

If you're looking for a horror read with hints of love, this is probably the book for you.

4-4.5 stars

Mia is now a vampire and all the concerns she had as a human seem so very distant, so vanishingly small compared to what she is now. Of course that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have passions

She wants out, she wants freedom, she wants to live as a vampire free from the Queen’s dictates.

But she also wants Bastion - the sexy vampire who desperately wants her as well. But they are forbidden from being together, no matter how it hurts. They should stay away, but they can’t bring themselves to do so - even as their love threatens Mia’s fragile control. A snapped control that could not just threaten them - but the whole vampire society.

The first book in his series was wonderfully refreshing. It took that very common paranormal romance trope of deeply obsessive love and showed us the much darker side of it. That it isn’t romantic or sexy or passionate - it’s scary, it’s terrifying and, ultimately, it’s extremely destructive. It was an excellent analysis.

This book? Well, there’s something similar, but it isn’t really conveyed nearly as well. Mia is now a new vampire and is having to adapt to the new society she finds herself in… but there isn’t a lot there. Sure there are vampires and drinking blood (and this book does an excellent job of conveying a truly callous, humanity-less depiction of vampire. Vampires that are utterly uncaring about who they kill and feeding their appetite) but other than the fact they serve their queen. Which is fine, it doesn’t have to be extremely complicated or byzantine or anything else

But we get this for half the book. For half the book Mia is training (without actually expanding her vampire powers), fighting her inner vampire (without especially explaining what that was, though we get more of that in the second part) but, on the whole, it mainly focuses on her relationship with .

This does continue the theme of the first book. Mia and Bastion both obsess over each other even though they both know their relationship is destructive. Bastion treats her terribly, continually pushing her away then trying to pull her back in, throwing so many mixed signals that it’s dizzying. Again, this is something we see in other romances, but this book shows the dark side of it, the damage and pain - not all the romantic sadness and suffering that we see repeated over and over again. Their relationship is a trainwreck that we see spiralling toward inevitable destruction.

But it’s a trainwreck that takes a huge amount of pages of constantly melodramatic description to get to that destination. It’s not a fun read, it’s so long and lacking in so much else beyond these endless maudlin monologues.I can appreciate what it is depicting, I appreciate the new take on these tropes, I really like that we’re seeing this repeated depiction through a darker - more realistic lens. But I just didn’t enjoy reading it.

Let me start by saying I really enjoyed Limerence 1. It was the first book by Claire C. Riley I ever read. Then she published the Odium and Odium Origins series. They became my newest favorites. With Limerence 2, she has continued this practice of over taking my life with her words and keeping me captivated by her storytelling. She has very obviously grown tremendously as an author. Don’t get me wrong, I thought Limerence 1 was great. Limerence 2 is just better. Much better, in fact.

Limerence 2 starts off about a year after the ending of Limerence 1. Unfortunately, I was a little bit rusty on some of what happened in the first book, so I was concerned I would be confused trying to read the 2nd since I read the 1st so long ago. Thankfully, it turned out not to be an issue after all. Riley gives enough context clues and flashback type of statements to remind the reader of what has happened up until now. I can even see it being read as a stand alone to some degree.

Her characters are well planned and thought out. They are characters that sound as if they really exist, and the back stories of the characters we learn about are quite interesting. My only “complaint” would be that the main character, Mia, is a spoiled sounding brat. She spends a good portion of the first half of the book complaining and trying to get out of her responsibilities. It really got on my nerves and I wanted to go through my kindle, tell her to put on her big girl panties, grow up, and punch her in the face. Believe it or not, I don’t blame Claire Riley for making Mia this way. I blame Mia. Claire is just putting on paper what her characters are up to, and telling their stories as they tell it to her. She gives them the voice they don’t physically have, and absolutely does a great job. Ms. Riley’s characters seem to grow and change just as she does.

I think the overall tone of Limerence feels quite dark compared to her other books, but that’s ok because it really set the mood and helps to keep the villains in their elements. The fighting scenes are intense and violent, as they should be. Mia is adjusting to being a vampire, and honestly, she’s not really doing a very good job of acting like an adult.

Something that Claire C. Riley did that I really enjoyed was that she gave her vampires a little bit of something extra to make their whole existence more unique than every other vampire story out there while at the same time, keeping them in the classical realm of horror.

I would love to recommend this book to anyone who prefers traditional horror vampires over sparkly sensitive type. It’s got a great storyline, awesome characters, and reintroduces the reader to the ideals of classical monsters.

Limerence 2 is definitely worth your time and money so be sure to check it out while it’s on sale!

Ms. Riley has finally written her sequel to Limerence, and looks as if it is going to be a trilogy after all. If you have not read the first Limerence book, please go back and read it, it is a wonderful story. This is not quite your typical vampire story, and no they do not sparkle. If you are a Twilight fan and not open to any other type of vampire story, please move on, this is not for you.
So again, I really do hate to ruin your reading pleasure with spoilers, so I will try to do my best not to do so here. On that note, if you enjoyed the first book, you NEED to read this one. Limerence picks up just after where we left Mia. With all of her mortal life in ruins, she leaves it all behind and goes with her new life. That is when she finds it is not as easy as you would believe. There are internal struggles, and fighting against yourself is sometimes the strongest enemy you will ever face, no matter how strong or fast you have become.
Mia finds herself surrounded by her own kind, but finding few of the vampires she wishes to spend any time with. Well, except for her mentor and trainer, Evan. Almost all of her time is consumed by “training”, but the reason for her training is not readily apparent to her. She finally finds some solace in painting, but will that be enough to stop the internal struggle waging inside of her? Wonder why vampires are always warning against excess, well Ms. Riley has finally answered that question for us.
Ms. Riley has given you another character in the description of the castle. It seems like it could be on any continent, but still seems ancient at the same time. I was not expecting quite what was on the menu in the dining room, and the common room was also just a little more exciting than what I was thinking.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book, and it left us hanging on the last words, waiting for the next one. Of course now I have to wait for the next book to come out, so guess I will just have to survive on all of the other books written by Ms. Riley until then.

Because Limerence II begins about a year after Mia's transformation, we don't see how she handled losing Oliver and how she adjusts to her new life as a vampire, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I sort of wanted to feel her grief spill over from the end of Limerence - not because I'm sadistic, but because I was heart-broken and wanted to grieve with her.

As a member of the Queen's army of vampires, Mia trains with Evan, who she is strongly attracted to. And though she isn't human any longer, she still has human emotions, and enjoys her playful interactions with handsome Evan. But because they are forbidden to become lovers, a battle of within each of them exists that eventually is too much to bear. All the while, Mia battles her inner darkness that is Maya.

Because everything vamps experience is more intensified, their sexual experiences are out of this world, and it felt like I was reading erotica, which, honestly, distracted me, because when I was reading at home or in public, I kept looking up to make sure no one was looking over my shoulder, interested in what I was reading. I'm not a Fifty Shades kind of girl, just the blood and guts and gore kind.

I enjoyed learning about the Queen and of course, Mr. San from the first novel in the series. Claire's unique take on the Queen and her strength was fantastic! I was disappointed when I was suddenly on the last page, and it didn't wrap up the way I had hoped from the beginning, but I suppose this means there will be a third book to look forward to.

Limerence II was certainly as intense as the first, with lots of blood (and more sex), and if you like vampires and the bloodlust that goes along with it, you will love this novel. But, make sure you read Limerence first, or you won't have Mia's back story and how she came to be.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

"The First taste is always the best. That first millisecond when the blood touches your taste buds is as if every one of my senses are being caressed by the hand of god"

Beautiful Mia is back! Mia is more sassy, more sexy & more spirited than ever!
Then there's the super gorgeous Evan - who got me feeling very hot and bothered! I think I'm in love with this fictional book boyfriend! That's how powerful Claire's writing is.

The storyline is fantastic & the characters are brilliant. This is the type of book you might read in just a few sittings (as I did) becoming engrossed in its fantastical world and oblivious to my physical surroundings.

I absolutely love the Limerence series. It is something that has filled the void left by ending the Twilight series & The House of Night Series.
Claire C Riley has a unique talent for writing & taking her readers deep into the inscrutable & thrilling world she creates. Limerence reignited my love for all things Vampire & Limerence 2 has left me in- awe.
I'm now desperate to read the next instalment - there has to be one - with that amazing ending!

This book had me on the edge of my seat all the way through, they was it was written was just great.
So I had to refresh my memory and read the end of the first book before I started this one, just so I knew what was going on (I get confused easily)
So in this book we see Mia trying to adjust to her new life, she has lost/ repressed memories from her previous life and is battling her inner demons. The only thing that makes her life bearable is Evan, he is her trainer and has been forbidden to be with Mia in the way that she want.
I loved reading them together, half way through the book there is a plot twist that I am not going to reveal, you will just have to read yourself.
Please read Limerence before you read this book because you will understand and enjoy this one so much more. (take my advice)
For everyone who has read Limerence, you will love Limerence II
I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves vampires as much as me ;)

Where do I begin. This is the sequel to Limerence which is Claire's first book. This does what a sequel should and build on the events of the first book. This book does not loose steam and keeps going on all fronts and makes you addicted to Mia's story and waiting and wanting more. Claire out did herself this time and I am vampire fan and this really brings a new light the genre. I really hope there will be a third one after that ending. Claire has a fan for life now

This isn't what I usually read but I had to continue with the story and see where was Mia heading. I loved her more in the first book as she was stronger and really fierce, both as a human and a vampire. and I was excited to see her dark side In Limerence 2. I'm not so sure about Mia and Evan so it was interesting to have Mr Breckt come back and mess things a bit. Can't wait to read the follow up!

**I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Lovers of Paranormal, LoP**

Wow. Talk about a thrilling story. I loved how the storyline came to life and how it played out. Not happy with the cliffhanger, but understandable. The characters took me by surprise. I probably should have seen some of it coming, but I didn't. Which is why I found this book exciting and I couldn't put it down. A great read. I look forward to the next part of Mia's story.

I thought i was through with the vampire genre until I read Limerence 1 and now 2. I was swept away with this book. It played like a movie in my head. I can honestly say I will read anything Claire C Riley writes. I love her characters, her wit, humor and depth she gives them. Love it.

Brilliant

Now that was a big turn around in book 2 i had an idea what was coming but totally caught me out. You could feel so much emotion coming from Evan losing Ava to her monster vampire self and trying to reach the one he loves. Really enjoyed the story had some good twists through out.
I'm really hoping there is a book three coming out.

4-4.5 stars
