Snow Haven Hills is picture-perfect and painfully nosy. When I woke up from the coma, the first thing I learned wasn’t how much time I’d lost but how much more I had to lose. Grayson—the man I dated for three years—is marrying my best friend.
Helping with their wedding is a terrible idea but not for the reason everyone thinks. The real problem? Jaxon Hale is back in town.
Jaxon isn’t like his brother. He’s reckless, infuriating, impossible to ignore. Chaos wrapped in a leather jacket and a grin. And maybe, just maybe, exactly what I need.
But how do I let myself fall for another Hale brother, especially this one but then again… how do I stop?
JAXON HALE
I hate Snow Haven Hills. Since Mom died, it’s been nothing but a town full of ghosts. I come back once a year, stay just long enough to make my father mad and leave. But this year, I’m stuck here for Grayson’s wedding.
And for her.
Samira Lawson. The girl I tried not to notice when she was with my brother — emphasis on tried. Now she’s single, hurting and still lighting up every room she walks into.
Grayson doesn’t deserve her. He never did. And maybe I don’t either. But when she looks at me like she can’t decide whether to slam the door in my face or let me in, I know one I can’t stay away.
Snow Haven Hills isn’t home. But maybe… she could be,

❄️ Holiday Novella 🩶 Ex’s Older Brother ⛸️ Small Town Romance 💜 Open Door 💋 He Falls First 🐻❄️ Dual POV
Jada - you are so, so amazing and this book is beautiful. I love Samira and Jaxon as if they were my own and I love how you wrote them and crafted this story.
This short but incredibly heartwarming Christmas romance truly surprised me. The book came into my hands as an ARC copy when author Jada West was looking for early readers, and since I don’t usually read many holiday romances, I thought—why not? It turned out to be the perfect opportunity to discover a new author, and the decision proved to be more than worthwhile. I will definitely be reaching for her stories again in the future.
The story follows Samira, who wakes up from a six-week coma only to find herself in a life she barely recognizes. During that time, she lost her parents, and her long-term relationship ended in the most painful way possible—her boyfriend got engaged to her best friend. Samira has to learn how to live again, process her grief, and find her place in a world that kept moving forward without her.
Into this already fragile balance steps Jaxon Hale—seemingly the typical “bad boy” with a motorcycle and a leather jacket, but in reality an incredibly gentle, protective, and understanding soul. Jaxon offers Samira something she hasn’t had in a long time: a sense of safety, genuine understanding, and permission to put herself first. Their dynamic is filled with quiet tension, forbidden attraction, and tender moments that truly drew me in.
Samira is both strong and vulnerable at the same time. Her insecurities, pain, and slow personal growth are portrayed in a very authentic way, making it easy to connect with her. I also really loved the focus on her relationship with Alessi, which adds warmth and a comforting sense of home to the story.
The only “flaw” of the book is its length—it’s too short, but in the best possible way. It feels like we’ve only scratched the surface of these characters, and I honestly wish to learn more about Samira, Jaxon, and Alessi.
Skating into Christmas is a calm, emotionally rich, and comforting holiday read that beautifully shows how love sometimes arrives exactly when—and with the person—we least expect it.
Skating Into Christmas by Jada West is the perfect read to delve into the holidays.
This novella features Samira Lawson, newly revived from a coma and faced with all the relationships she’d lost while unconscious. Her boyfriend getting with her best friend, her parents gone. She struggles to adapt to her new reality while navigating grief and heartbreak.
Until the unofficial ’Grinch’ comes back to the small town for the season and brightens her Christmas and her heart.
Jaxon Hale. The other, older Hale brother. The one saw her, knew her, understood her worth when his brother never did. He comes to SnowHaven Hills for the season, not knowing he would find his forever.
I LOVED IT!!! The lights, the warmth, the traditions, the Cinnamon rolls!! This checked everything off the Christmas “must-dos” for me!!!! This book gave me the familiarity of snuggling into blankets by the fireplace with hot cocoa while the smell of cookies wafted in the air.
this is one of the best holiday novella i have ever read. a huge thanks to jada for providing me with the arc for this amazing cozy read. nobody writes a down bad mmc better than her, you can feel the yearning through the words. samira is stronger than me because wdym waking up from coma to find your boyfriend and best friend engaged, i'd burn everything down. she is such a kind girl, always ready to help others even at her own expense. i loved that she had alessi as her best friend who wanted best for her. her insecurities were so real and seeing her choose herself over everyone and stand on business healed something in me. and jaxon is such a pure soul. the bad boy who is good in all the ways. i loved how he never let anyone treat samira bad and the way he was so different from those asshole men. he was so thoughtful and patient and never let her feel bad about herself and the way he was so sute of her, no second decisions. they are perfect for each other and deserve each other. i was blushing all the way. the forbidden attraction, tension was done so well and the emotional part was balanced out in a best manner here. a comfort book for sure.
Cozy, Swoony, and Pure Holiday Comfort Skating Into Christmas is everything I want in a holiday novella: warm, heartfelt, romantic, and effortlessly charming. Jada West does what she does best: creating characters that feel real, lovable, and impossible not to root for.
Set during Christmas in a small town that feels alive with lights, traditions, and quiet magic, this story follows Samira and Jaxon as their connection slowly begins to bloom. The setting alone made me want to pack my bags and spend the holidays there. I mean ice skating, cozy moments, and that unmistakable small-town Christmas charm? COUNT ME IN!!
Samira is incredibly relatable. She’s honest, vulnerable, and refreshingly real. Reading her story feels like sitting across from your best friend while she tells you everything!! Her doubts, her hopes, her excitement, and her fears. She’s easy to connect with, easy to love, and her voice feels so genuine.
And Jaxon? Absolute swoon. Ex’s older brother, he falls first, and somehow manages to be both soft and completely irresistible. The way he pays attention to Samira really sees heris everything. Finding out she likes polar bears and having a huge stuff polar bear sent to her house?? That’s the kind of quiet, thoughtful romance that melts you on the spot.
The plot is light, fun, and perfectly paced for a holiday novella. It’s sweet without being boring, romantic without being over-the-top, and cozy in a way that makes you want to curl up with a blanket and hot cocoa.
Skating Into Christmas is a feel-good, heartwarming read that left me smiling long after I finished. A perfect holiday escape.
A short Christmas novel following Samira who awoken from a from a coma to life she’s known to be completely changed and Jaxon the brother of the man that supposedly was the love of her life. Jaxon has been drawn the Saxon the moment he met but due to her being is brother’s girlfriend didn’t act on it until he’s back home for his brother’s wedding to a bride that is not her. After waking up from a coma Samira finds out that her boyfriend is getting married to her best friend and she is just trying to navigate life post coma. Comfort for came from an unexpected source, her ex’s brother.
Jaxon has every reason to be as broody as he was and I loved him, a man that sees you and understands you is only something I can dream of. And Samira, after what she’s been through, she’s still trying to make everyone around her happy when they don’t deserve it. I’m happy that Jaxon was there to let her know it’s okay to say NO. I enjoyed their story and I liked the fact that it was focused on the events of the past, but how they’re moving forward. I must say though at the end I felt like something was missing from their story, like it’s incomplete.
Skating Into Christmas was so adorable. Poor Sammy, after suffering from an accident that took away her parents and placed her in a coma, she wakes just 6 weeks later to learn that her boyfriend of 3 years and her BEST FRIEND are getting married! To make matters worse, that so called best friend was the one who helped save her life 😏 so now Samira feels so indebted to get that she agrees to help with the wedding!! Like...WHAT?! IN comes Jaxon Hale (the exes brother) and he's finally going to shoot his shot with the girl he's always wanted. I freaking LOVE Jaxon and how he puts the 2 of those horrid people in their place 😏 The HEA in this is so cute and justice was definitely served. Super quick read for the holidays and I highly recommend 💗 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐📚 overall story 🌶️ spice level (there's only about 2 scenes and she tells you in which chapters at the beginning of the story in case you want to skip it!)
I was immediately drawn into Samira Lawson’s story: waking from a coma only to find out her boyfriend of three years is engaged to her best friend! And the cherry on top? She’s asked to help plan the frickin wedding! That’s wild!
Then there’s Jaxon Hale: the no-nonsense, leather jacket wearing older brother of her ex who stirs tension, lingering grief, and a connection that unfolds so naturally. The forbidden attraction adds heat, but it’s the emotional baggage they carry together that makes the romance hit. This isn’t just a holiday romance. It’s about choosing yourself after loss, redefining love, and allowing joy back in when it feels undeserved. Jaxon and Samira’s chemistry simmers, but their vulnerability is what makes their connection unforgettable.
A cozy yet emotionally rich holiday read that proves sometimes love shows up exactly where, and with who, you never planned for.
I absolutely loved Samira and Jaxon's story. Samira's journey showed her evolve from a people pleaser, where she allowed her ex and ex-bestie to disrespect her, to a woman whose empathy is tempered with boundaries that she starts to enforce. Jaxon is a major part of that change, with his return to town and helping his dream girl heal and learn that it's okay to say no.
On the flip side, Jaxon struggles in the small town because of familial struggles. His escape is his rink and when Samira gives him a chance, he finds solace in the girl always wearing purple.
I loved the chemistry and the slow burn was so good. I was so invested in the plot and when the ending happened, I was sad that it was over but Jada did such a good job at wrapping up the story. Jaxon is a top tier book boyfriend and I am so frickin glad that started 2026 with Skating Into Christmas 💜
This book is the definition of sweet, cute Christmas read with the novel not being very long at all but definitely not skimping on the character development or story. I had so much fun reading this book and getting to find out the characters stories and the plotlines in the book.
I absolutely saw parts of myself in the Samira in terms of putting other people's feelings first before my own and I love how the Jaxon made her realise that she needs to think more of herself and the person she wants to be regardless of other people's feelings. This was such an absolute cozy read to dive in too and I urge you to pick it up and dive in to town of Snowhaven hills and get lost as you will definitely not be disappointed.
I want people to understand that when I mean this particular author can't be graded on her writing or style is because of how she brings her characters emotions to life by adding the touch of reality to her plot line.
The story of Samira Lawson and Jaxon Hale may seem like just a book to readers who are still stuck with the brand of some famous authors, yet Jada somehow made this story magical, always a motive to inspire and encourage those who read her work.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that people who haven't read her work are missing out , because this Christmas story Reverberated within my soul , the true essence of the festive spirit can be felt when one reads this book, it's more than just romance, it's a book on how one can be empowered with a strong belief.
Skating Into Christmas was a short, heartwarming holiday read that left me smiling. I loved Jaxon- he’s very much a bad boy with a soft heart, and those tender moments between him and Samira were beautifully done. Their connection felt gentle, sincere, and full of quiet emotion.
I also really liked Alessi and would love to read her story one day. 👀 She stood out in a way that made me curious for more.
One thing I wished we’d gotten more of was the relationship between Lana and Samira before Samira’s coma…because why did Lana think it was okay to go after Samira’s boyfriend while she was unconscious?? 😬 I needed a little more context there.
Overall, this was a sweet, cozy, and emotional holiday romance that earned its 4.5 hearts.
This novella was super sweet! Jada writes a down bad, romantic MMC so well! Jaxon was so swoon worthy. The perfect balance of bad boy & down bad for our girl Samira. I loved all the thoughtful ways he took care of her and made her believe she was worthy. The book was short which might be my only “complaint” but only because I wanted more of them! Even though it was short the characters had a lot of development and there was enough backstory to understand how the characters got to where they were. Thank you Jada for the opportunity to ARC read this for you and I definitely recommend everyone skate into Christmas 😉reading this book when it comes out on 12.22!
Arc review This was honestly a really cute read. Idk but Jada always finds a way to get me extremely pissed at side characters😭🤣like Samira’s so called ‘best friend’ and her ex boyfriend, made me fucking livid!! I wanted to give both of them a good and proper beating honestly🙄 Samira and Jaxon thou, them two were so sweet, Jaxon was an absolute darling and his words of affirmation to her were beyond beautiful.🥺 Loved her sister too, Alessi was there for her sister everytime. This was a cozy cute little Christmas read and I enjoyed it💞
This author took me on a journey I happily lived through as I read this holiday novel. There was everything we needed. Some drama, a lot of love, and so much yearning that I was dying for. Highly HIGHLYYYY recommend this as a holiday read!!! Will be coming back to this book next year for sure.
Oh, My God! Jada doesn’t disappoint! This cute Christmas novella was perfect! Jaxon and Samira were too cute and I loved the whole grumpy-sunshine trope. If you need a cute Christmas novella, this is the one! You’ll love every part of this. 6 stars ⭐️
Cute novella! This story felt like a warm hug for anyone that experiences (parental) grief during the holidays. Jaxon and Samira were so cute together and I appreciated that the mess of certain family members did not spoil their fun.

I received an ARC from the author. My opinions are my own
I love this book! Jada did her thing with this one, Samira and her man have my heart and I'm totally glad I got to read this book. If you want a quick Christmas read, this one is the girl
Spectacular!!! Give me 14 of them RIGHT NOW!!! When i say Men written by Jada West are ELITE!!! I mean it🙂↕️😍 Swooning on this short and fast masterpiece😍😍😍
ARC REVIEW This was one of the hardest reviews to write, but here we go. Samira and Grayson were the couple of Snow Haven Hills, until the moment she needed him most, and he chose her best friend instead. The betrayal? Brutal. The humiliation? Crushing. And yet, somehow, Samira still ends up helping plan their wedding out of guilt and obligation. Now, Jackson, that man? I loved him. His unapologetic, zero-filters, don’t give a f*ck energy was everything. He was himself from start to finish, no shrinking, no pretending. He knew what he wanted, and when he realized his dream girl was free, he didn’t hesitate. What I would have loved more of was a proper flashback; he’d loved her quietly, consistently, painfully, the whole time. I wanted to see it, not just feel the implication of it Overall, this book hurt in that quiet, lingering way. Messy emotions, complicated choices, and a man who didn’t ask for permission to love her right.
First I have to say, that I'm really disappointed in Lana, what kind of best friend she is to go behind Samira's back while she's in a coma, and get with Grayson, but.... Karma...
I love Jaxon, and the constant love and support he has for Samira, and the way he is there for her no matter what, even if she doesn't feel the same as he does. I love that he breaks all her insecurities and makes her believe in herself again. I love that their instant connection and their forbidden attraction are impossible to resist. And I love the tension between them.
I received this book as an ARC and I'm so happy that it happened, because this book warmed my heart with happiness and love.
