This set contains the full versions of The End and After the End, as well as a sample chapter from an upcoming novel, The Storm. We all have it. That feeling that something bad is about to happen, something really bad. We don't like to think about it and we never talk about it, but still, we worry about it. Sometimes we can almost feel the Earth holding its breath and waiting. We are all preparing in our own ways. Some have built bunkers and gathered supplies, some have a contingency plan on paper or maybe just in their head but nothing concrete. Then there are those of us who are in the middle, we don’t have a well supplied bunker but we have a stash of things we might need when that day comes and a sort of plan to go with it. We think about how much we will miss things like chocolate bars, wine and coffee and brainstorm about ways to preserve the things we will miss the most. We decide where to go, if leaving is possible and consider the pros and cons of each possible location. The more pessimistic at heart are checking things off their bucket lists before it’s too late and maybe even devising an exit strategy.
When Lucy and her sons wake up to a living nightmare on the last morning of their weekend camping trip, they must make the most of the people and resources surrounding them to endure. Along the way, Lucy finds romance during the end of the world as they fight to survive and discover the truth about the attack that has forever changed their lives. Due to popular demand, the second work in the The End series is here. After Kevin leaves Lucy and breaks her heart, she must find a way to pick up the pieces of her life. This story picks up shortly after The End left off. Will Lucy and Kevin find their way back to each other? Is there new love for them? And what will happen to the new USA, After the End?
Stephanie Albright grew up in Amanda, Ohio. In 1986 she went to Mississippi for the summer and never went back. She graduated from Mississippi University for Women with a degree in Paralegal Studies and has a Masters in Education from Western Governors University. She loves history, travel and food, not necessarily in that order. Words have always been her passion, either reading or writing. She now lives in Alabama with a small flock of chickens and a very angry cat, who enjoys being outside almost as much as she does. Other than reading and writing, she loves gardening and learning about plants, and drinking coffee on the porch.
When I first started reading this I wasn't sure I would finish. I pushed on because I hate leaving a book unread. I'm glad I did this book has heart, the story seemed to be about real people. It wasn't the apocalyptic story I was expecting but I can whole heartily recommend it.
Yes! I would highly recommend this book! Stephanie Albright swooped me into this story so quickly! The highs and lows of the turbulent love/relationship of Kevin and Lucy was so well written.
I thought the story was very good until the last chapter. true of fiction, what a bombshell descended. That is a bait for the next book in the series. Whet my appetite. This book fooled me. i was so unaware that it was a first book in a series. Before I buy any Ebook, that is offered on my authors list, I always look to see if it is the first in a series, if so. I avoid it. The first book may be free or at nominal cost then the next in the series is often high priced. I find that isn't in my book budget. This time I got hooked. That's my only complaint as to the story. read it knowing there is more to the story and decide if the cost of the second book is within the book budget.
Really good read. First time in a long, time I didn't get a happily ever after. Kevin. I really wanted to go through my kindle and beat him up....well, maybe just bite him on his leg....or kick him. I can't remember ever wanting to hurt a man before. To make a reader mad at a character I had grown to love was a bold move on the author's part. Good job.
