Trauma for the Neighbors: The Summoning of Athanasius
When Ione discovers a strange box buried in her garden, she doesn’t expect it to contain the ring of a long-lost primordial god. But the moment she slips it on, she’s bound to Athanasius—lord of death and darkness, and an infuriatingly smug immortal with an agenda of his own. Now tethered to a powerful being who’s less “evil overlord” and more “cosmic chaos with a flair for sarcasm,” Ione is thrust into a world of ancient magic, looming threats, and a bond that’s far more complicated—and thrilling—than she ever imagined.

As a black woman, I strive to put us on the forefront of romance novels. To put us in fantastical and daring situations that carve heroines everyone loves to read about.
Other than being a writer, I fancy myself quite the poet.

4.5 stars.
This was such an interesting story. The world building was great and kept me engaged. The banter between the MCs was nice and the FMC was funny. The FMC didn't give an inch and constantly bickered with the MMC, I loved it.
The villain was entertaining, both scary and hot.
The spice was so, so very delicious. 🥵
This seems like it may be a part of a series....the MC's story was wrapped, I guess, but the villain's story wasn't.

The one ring to rule me🤩
One thing that I can always say reading a Tierra Cox story is that you will be taken for an adventure, this book with no exception. Along with the ride, you are introduced to many mythical creatures, but nothing will prepare you for the sexy decadence of a god like Primordial. And it all starts with a black woman just trying to plant some fruit trees, when she finds a ring.💍

I love Athy
Overall, this is a good read. There are one or two dragging parts but the rest is highly entertaining and funny. I love the chemistry between Athy and Iona (Athy's rabbit). Somehow that nickname is cute. One of the few endearments I do not find cheesy. The battle scene was a little shaky. But the end part was worth the additional time. I wonder what the better revenge will entail.

Loved this book!
I love how the author uses words and pacing to create scenes that make you feel like you're literally in the story with the characters. I fell in love with Athanasius and Ione and found myself rooting for them to figure out a way to love each other. I really do enjoy the way Ms. Cox writes and love when she graces us with a new story to devour.

I absolutely loved this book, the writing, the plot, the world building was everything! Loved the way Athanasius was written and honestly I even loved the complexity of Ambrose and how he was written and that it wasn’t just an “empty” villain.

Surprising read
I went into this book but really knowing what to expect, but i really enjoyed it. I liked all the characters, and it ended on a note that gives a return to this world.
