Mistletoe Wedding

Rate this book
Event planner at the Bar V5 Dude Ranch, Meg Redstone is dreaming of a white Christmas with twinkling lights, sparkly decorations and strategically placed mistletoe. She loves making dreams come true for others, whether planning a holiday wedding or giving her young daughter the best Christmas ever.

Ranch foreman Tyler Murphy loves the holidays, but his newest employee has taken over his barn with her over-the-top decorations. He admires Meg’s desire to give her daughter the perfect Christmas while planning a winter wonderland wedding, but he wants to show her that a Montana Christmas is more than glitter and lights.

After raising his younger sister, an instant family is not on Ty's Christmas wish list. But he finds himself falling hard for the single mom and her little girl. Meg, however, is not interested in a romance with a cowboy like Ty, or any man. Getting her under the mistletoe is going to take a Christmas miracle . . . or a little help from Santa.

Mistletoe Wedding by Melissa McClone is book two in the Montana Born Christmas series. I love life at the Bar V5 ranch near Marietta, Montana. Even though I am a warm weather girl, Melissa makes life at this ranch seem so magical, no matter what time of year. But Christmas at the ranch…what could be more magical, especially for a six year old girl named Brooklyn.

Meg Redstone and her little 6 year old daughter, Brooklyn, have come home to Montana. Meg is a single Mom, Brooklyn’s father signed off on his rights as a parent before she was even born. Meg wants a better life for her daughter where she was raised, in beautiful Montana. So she gets the job of a lifetime, event planner at the Bar V5 ranch. She has only been here a month and is still on probation so she is trying to do her best but it’s not hard when she loves her job so much. It’s the day after Thanksgiving and it’s time to start decorating for Christmas. In only three weeks, the ranch will host their first wedding as well which Meg is the planner for.

“She was a mom. No distractions or attractions allowed. Meg had survived the nearly seven years on her own. She would continue to do so here. What didn’t kill a person made them stronger, and she felt immortal after what she’d been through.”

“In this little town, shadowed by Copper Mountain, she’d discovered the one place she thought she’d never find…home.”

I want to insert here that the wedding is for Noah and Caitlin whom we met in a little novella I completely fell in love with last year, Mistletoe Magic. If you haven’t read this, I highly recommend it and you will love it too! Noah and Caitlin aren’t the main characters of Mistletoe Wedding but we still get to revisit them.

Ty Murphy is now part owner of the Bar V5 and is ranch foreman or bossman which Brooklyn likes to call him. He is most definitely every fantasy of a cowboy you can imagine. He is rugged, sexy, but sweet, loves cats, and loves to decorate for Christmas as well. Ty raised his little sister after his parents were killed so he has no interest what-so-ever in a ready made family or ever having children of his own. He is instantly attracted to Meg but he keeps her in the friend zone, determined not to get emotionally involved. But Brooklyn is seriously the sweetest little girl you will ever meet, and she manages to win him over, right along with her Mom.

The mental images of Christmas on the Bar V5 Melissa McClone paints are so beautiful. I can just picture the barn with all the Christmas lights and the wreaths on the stalls of the horses. I loved watching Ty and Meg fight their attraction for each other and I completely fell in love with little Brooklyn. She will be raised with a ranch full of Uncles, tough wranglers that melt around this little girl. This book has me so ready for Christmas but I’m afraid I have a ways to wait since it’s still mid-October.

If you enjoy books about love, Christmas, beautiful snowy Montana with a few sexy cowboys thrown in, this is the book for you. Thank you so much to Melissa McClone, Tule Publishing and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

At the young age of 18, Ty lost both of his parents in an accident and became the legal guardian to his little sister, Rachel. Yes he had to give up so much to take care of and raise her, but he wouldn't change it for the world. However, he does feel that he has already done the parent thing and is not interested in doing it again. Sure he wants to get married... someday. But whoever he marries needs to be on the same page as he is... no kids.

Enter in Bar V5 Ranch's newest employee, Meg, and her adorable daughter, Brooklyn. Being a single parent was never in Meg's plans. But the moment her husband finds out she's pregnant he files for divorce and gives up all parental rights to their daughter. Brooklyn is Meg's life now. She will do anything and everything for her daughter. Sure she would like to date again and maybe even marry... someday. But right now she refuses to do anything that would break her daughter's heart.

From the moment Ty walks in to see his barn chock-full of Christmas decorations and a sleeping Brooklyn curled up in his office, something in him slowly starts to soften. The same thing starts to happen to Meg when she sees how sweet Ty is with her daughter.

But nothing can happen between them. Friends. They can only be friends. Who cares that the kisses they share are the best either of them have ever had. Something more just isn't written in the stars for either of them.

Or is it?

Never underestimate the Christmas magic at Bar V5 Ranch. What's meant to be, will be. And no matter how hard they fight against it or how much they try to talk themselves out of it, a happily ever after IS written in the stars for them. All they have to do is open their hearts and believe.

This series is so much fun! I'm glad I decided to add it to my Christmas Swoon Fest list! Each book has just the right amount of romance, swooning and Christmas! It's definitely helping me get in the Christmas spirit! :)

I am so glad that I decided to take a chance on Ms. McClone. Her books are the perfect getaway! I can't wait to read more by her!

I know I say this a lot but I am seriously in love with this casting! *dreamy sigh*

I'm always a sucker for holiday romances, and this was such a sweet story. Meg and Ty both fight their attraction for different reasons, but that attraction is definitely there. Then there's Meg's daughter, Brooklyn. She's absolutely adorable, and she steals all the scenes that she's in. At times she sounds much older than her 6 years, but she is precious.

I love the ranch setting especially for a holiday romance. Melissa really brings the setting to life. You can picture all the lights on the barns as you read. Any time I read a book like this, I want to be there and this story wasn't any different. Plus I probably could help Meg learn how to cook. Why are so many heroines so inept in the kitchen these days?

Stories like this always make me wish they were a little bit longer. I would have really would have liked to know more about Meg's first husband and how he came to be such a jerk about children and even more so I would have liked to sort out what really happened with Brooklyn at the end of the story.

This was a perfect Christmas story. It was festive, fun and made me long for more.

I enjoyed my trip to Marietta, Montana and learning about Ty, Meg and Brooklyn. Two people that don't want any relationships or entanglements seem to be drawn to each other like metal to a magnet. Meg was recently hired at the Bar V5 Ranch as an event coordinator. She and her precocious 6-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, soon settle into life on the ranch. Brooklyn is Meg's main focus and she doesn't want to introduce men (a.k.a. dating) into their lives, with the chance that it could negatively effect Brooklyn. Ty doesn't want a wife and family, a "been there, done that" scenario; he practically raised his sister Rachel when their parents died in an accident when she was 10 (she's now happily married to his business partner). He is enjoying the single, bachelor life. It was interesting to see how these two characters evolved and developed. Of course, a little Christmas magic never hurts either....

Ty, Meg and Brooklyn’s story is pleasant enough, features a holiday wedding and a small town Montana setting but the storytelling is mediocre, the storyline is predictable and there was little emotional depth between the characters. The author wrote about emotions but failed to make me feel them which was disappointing.

Well, if I hadn’t been in love with Marietta & the Bar V5 before, I certainly am now! McClone brings us back to Montana in a big way that will leave you primed for Christmas and smiling at the romance she dangles before you. I enjoyed the romance that wasn’t sappy, and the upbeat outlook on life that this town gives you, even if it isn’t always a bed of roses. This is all wrapped up in McClone’s fantastically illustrative writing and breathtaking narrative.

I love how McClone incorporates both past characters and new ones into this novel. Getting to know them even better as everyone comes back together for Christmas and a wedding gives readers a very unique outlook on who they are and what they stand for. The main couple in this story was fantastic as well. McClone brings them to live in a very real way. I was amazed at just how well we got to know them without going into information overload. Who these two are and how they perceive life directly affects the story as a whole.

This is a real, heart-warming, feel good Christmas story. McClone had me hooked from start to finish with this fast paced, quick read.

I received this book as an e-ARC free from Netgalley. Below is my review.

I'm a fan of the Montana Born series of books so it was a no-brainer to pick up this book from Netgalley. I enjoyed it. It's like that snow you get on a day hovering right around 32F; it looks pretty coming down, hovers a bit on the ground, and then it's gone. Pretty but forgettable. It has its sweet moments, its "oh gosh!" moments, and its requisite happy ending.

Tyler is happy to not have a family, after all, he put his life on hold to raise his baby sister. Now he can relax and have his own life. It just happens his own life is kind of taken up with work.

Meg is a single mother, one who was abandoned by her rock/mountain climbing boyfriend when she got pregnant. Brooklyn, Meg's daughter, is precocious and precious and all the ranch hands love her.

It's a nice and easy Christmas story with a "down home", country, western Christmas feel. Enjoy the cozy Christmas wedding (not Tyler and Meg's) and the slow realization that love isn't always fireworks, sometimes it's a warm fire in winter.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. This was the first book I've read by author Melissa McClone but it certainly won't be my last. The holidays in Montana provide the perfect backdrop for starting over for Meg and her daughter, Brooklyn. Determined to prove herself on the ranch means butting heads with Ty, the ranch foreman and confirmed bachelor. Sometimes, however, what we think we want and what we truly need can be entirely different...and wonderful...magical happily-ever-after things.

This was a warm and happy Christmas read. They might be fighting it, but you know from the start that the chemistry between Ty and Meg was going to bring them a happily ever after. I liked Ty's growing affection for Meg;s daughter Brooklyn as well. This was a sweet cozy novella, perfect for holiday reading.

We are back in Marietta, Montana for the second book in the series set during the Christmas season featuring the engaging inhabitants of this quaint town.

Ty Murphy is the co-owner of the Bar V5 Ranch, a working ranch with paying guests certain times of the year. They are hosting their first winter wedding and have hired Meg Redstone as the events planner. Ty is from Arizona but loves living here and being a part of this ranch. His sister Rachel, who he raised when his parents died, also lives here with her husband Nate, the other owner of the ranch.

Meg grew up in Montana, she left to climb mountains around the world with her ex-husband but when she got pregnant with her daughter Brooklyn, he left them in the dust. She wants to raise her daughter in Montana, so she has come home.

Mistletoe Wedding is a cute addition to this series set in this small town.

Meg is sweet but seems a bit vulnerable as she is trys to impress the owners of the ranch by getting the barn ready for the wedding. I love Ty’s reaction. here he is enjoying the serene winter landscape thinking about simple Christmas decorations when he walks into color, lights and loud Christmas music in the barn, priceless.

Ty is adorable; he loves everything about a Montana Christmas and can’t wait to show Meg how it is done in Marietta. His only problem is trying to keep a safe distance from both Meg and Brooklyn so he does not fall hard and fast. He is not ready for this type of commitment yet, too bad his heart is not listening as he finds he can’t stay away.

Since this is a short story, the romance is quick, and with a guest wedding and Christmas around the corner there is no time to waste. The two together are cute and the chemistry is apparent and I love her daughter Brooklyn; there is something about a six year old that makes a heart warm, especially at Christmas. I like how each book is incorporating the Marietta Stroll, the local shopping event that celebrates the season, something special for the town.

I read Mistletoe Magic first so I get to see and feel Melissa McClone's writing and I liked it. She actually got me sighing and grinning and dreaming of Christmas as early as October. And that's where I first met fiances Noah & Caitlin who were about to get married in this Copper Mountain Christmas series.

This time, Mistletoe Wedding introduces Meg Redstone, a newly hired event planner at the Bar V5 Dude Ranch. She's a single mom to a a beautiful daughter, Brooklyn, who was really as cute as a button. No wonder little Brooklyn got everyone in the bar/ranch wrapped in her finger. Including Tyler Murphy, the foreman / boss at that ranch.

Now, Ty had noticed Meg and seemed to be attracted to her, however, he didn't like to get involved. For him, he could no longer commit to a relationship with a child in tow, because he already experienced being a mom and dad to her sister when their parents died. He knew what's in store for him if he's going to start a relationship with the event planner, so right then, he told her that they could only stay as friends.

But mistletoe all over the place are intent to make people kiss each other and fall in love. Such is what happened to newlyweds Noah & Caitlin. Meg made sure that their wedding was special and magical, but what about her own heart? It looked like Ty had already closed the door for her and Brooklyn, eventhough it was obvious that he was inexplicably drawn to them. Will they ever spend Christmas together in the near future?

Mistletoe Wedding is such a cute and enjoyable read. I liked all the characters in the story, especially Brooklyn who was really adorable. Her innocent outlook in life always brought Meg and Ty together, that's why I love her! Somehow I noticed, it always makes me feel great whenever I read a Christmas story. Thanks to Melissa McClone for this light-hearted read.

Meg Redstone had been through the ringer and had a broken marriage and a 6 year old wonderful daughter to prove it. Of all of her ups and downs the one she was most proud of was that little girl. She meant the world to her and Meg wanted to make sure she had everything that she could provide so she went out and found a place she could have wide open spaces to grow up in. She found a job in Marietta and between guest relations and planning a Christmastime wedding at the ranch she was sure she had found the best place for her little one.
Tyler Murphy had already raised a little girl, his sister, while he liked women he wasn’t about to settle down with anyone or start a family, ever. It wasn’t that he didn’t like children, he just didn’t want one for himself, been there done that. Now he has his half of the ranch to work on and enjoy, not to mention great friends and family. What more does any man need?
Christmas magic is around in Marietta and with the wonders of planning a wedding not to mention a child, who can know what will be coming around next? All anyone knows is that the future is bright and somehow Santa always knows just what to get to make it the best Christmas ever.
Ms. McClone has done it again. Not only are we transported back to Marietta, which is a wonderful small town but we get to go there at Christmas time and thanks to Ms. McClone you will be craving gingerbread and the taste of snowfalls, not to mention that feeling of the snow moving in. The story is so genuine and so relatable it will make you wishing you were celebrating with them and may have you reaching for your sweaters. While lighthearted it does play into some deeper emotions and some real responses for single parents to think about. If you are up for sweet, holiday fun this is for you.

Welcome back to the Bar V5 Dude Ranch and Marietta at Christmas. Meg Redstone, the new event planner for the Bar V5, has come to Marietta hoping to give her daughter Brooklyn, a better life than she could in Chicago. Meg has had her share of hardships and disappointments, her ex-husband left her as soon as he found out she was pregnant, wanting nothing to do with his daughter. Meg has been doing it all herself for six years.
Ty Murphy, the Bar V5's foreman (and co-owner), raised his younger sister after his parents died. He has no desire for a family at all, much less a ready-made one.
When Meg's attempt to plan a perfect Christmas wedding bring her over-zealous Christmas decorations into Ty's barn, he finds himself enjoying time with Meg. Unfortunately for him, she has a daughter, and would love more.
While showing Meg a real Montana Christmas, he finds himself enjoying both Meg and Brooklyn. Can they both let go of their pasts and realize the future they could have together.
A wonderfully sweet story, the descriptions made me feel like I was right there. I loved revisiting all the characters from past stories, not to mention the real Montana Christmas in Marietta. I was so disappointed that I finished and had to return to real-life.
A great Christmas story full of second chances!

"4 out of 5 stars!! Tyler (Ty) finds a woman he could truly fall for, if she didn't already have a child it might have been a no-brainer for him but with the magic of Christmas in the air and a little mistletoe, these two might get what they truly deserve for Christmas .... a family.

Out of the three novels I've read by Ms. McClone in her series, I liked this one the best!! This fast-paced holiday romance puts the reader in a festive cheer while you watch Ty & Megan (Meg) work their way through their pasts to find out what they really want for Christmas, which is each other."

Meg Redstone is hoping that her new job at the Bar V5 dude ranch will give her the peace and security that she wants for her daughter, Brooklyn. She's hoping for a new start in Montana where people are friendly and caring. She should be happy but her attraction to Tyler Murphy makes her nervous. Tyler doesn't want an instant family, but he can't stay away from Meg and he enjoys spending time with Brooklyn. What happens between these two reluctant adults is a delightful romance. Meg is a strong independent woman who has been hurt. Tyler raised his sister, Rachel, after the death of their parents. Now he's wary of love. This story is both romantic and touching. I loved all the characters - both old and new. Marietta Montana during the holiday season gave the story a feel good background. Brooklyn is a charmer and the mischievous barn cats add to the fun. Mistletoe Wedding made me smile. This story was a wonderful mix of tenderness and romance. Melissa McClone has done her usual excellent job. She writes from the heart.

I am loving these Montana Born Christmas books, I can’t wait for Christmas, and these books are making me cold. As in winter cold. But warm all over with how the stories written.

I loved the characters in this story, Meg, a single mother who just wants to do her new job that she was hired for, not looking for a relationship. Ty, the Ranch foreman isn’t looking for a relationship with a single mother. Of course he wants to make sure that Meg and her daughter have an awesome first Christmas in Montana. You will have to read the book to see how it happens.

The story is an awesome sweet story of two people who really belong together. I loved how Melissa McClone, intertwine the story of the Montana series with this story, makes it feel like one big book. Love all the characters and how I felt like I was right there with them. I feel this is a great romance story and worth the time to read.

I received this book from Netgalley for an honest opinion.

A very sweet, well written story with memorable characters.

Meg Redstone is new at Bar V5 Dude Ranch and she wants the Christmas season to be special for everyone. She is also planning a wedding for Caitlin and Noah (who we met in Mistletoe Magic).

Ty Murphy, co-owner of Bar V5 is surprised when he enters the barn one morning and finds all the Christmas decorations. He is even more surprised when he opens his office door and finds a little girl sleeping among the barn cats. Even though she is as cute as her mom, he doesn't want a relationship with a woman with a kid. He raised his sister after losing their parents and that was enough for him.

I enjoyed returning to Bar V5 and the characters that I loved from previous stories (but each can be read as a stand alone). I liked seeing how Meg and Ty fell in love and I really liked how Mistletoe and the barn cats got their own little part in the story.

Montana, cowboys, Christmas time, and a bit magic seems to be the winning formula for romance this holiday.
Neither Tyler nor Meg is ready for a relationship, dating, love, commitment. Life isn't just at that point in either of their lives. But then comes Christmas, Meg's adorable six year old daughter, a wedding to be arranged, all the Christmas activities, and before they notice it is already happening; love is all around and they are falling fast, and hard.
It is kind of cute how they both try to fight it, how blind, they both are for the fact that it is already happening, they are falling, and there's no stopping it.
Very sweet, adorable story. I wish it would have continued a bit further along, the conclusion came all too fast for me. But the story was nice, full of Christmas cheer, romance, childlike excitement for the season, and a bit magic

I enjoyed the book that I first read Bar V5 Ranch in which Tyler is part owner. However, I loved this story, Mistletoe Wedding. When Zach in Kiss Me, Cowboy stated that he and Tyler were confirmed bachelors I knew Zach eat going to eat those words. I just didn’t see the foreshadowing going on for this story. I should have though.

While Tyler was a minor character in the last book, he comes alive in this one thanks to Melissa McClone’s thorough character development. I couldn’t wait for his well-crafted structural world to be send spinning. Meg Redstone with her elfish daughter Brooklyn hit it like a tornado. It couldn’t have happened to a more likable couple.

I loved everything about this story and can’t wait to see who gets Melissa McClone’s attention next!

Christmas wishes do come true.

This is a lovely Christmas story written with much attention to detail. When the author describes the decorations and the location you are able to close your eyes and see the splendor of the season.
The story is about two young people who both have had a hard time at a young age. Ty was cast in the role of guardian of a little sister when his parents both died in an accident. He spent his early years raising her. Meg married a man at a young age. Friends and family warned her about him, but when Meg gets pregnant her husband files for divorce and signs away all parental rights of the unborn baby.
Makes you believe that a little girls Christmas wishes can come true.

Meg and Ty both have baggage which makes getting involved something that neither one is prepared to contemplate, yet they can't help feeling attracted to each other. Throw Meg's cute and precocious daughter Brooklyn into the mix and you have the makings of a sweet Christmas story. I liked Meg and Ty, probably liked them more because neither is perfect. Meg can't cook to save her life and Ty has real commitment issues. I felt that some of Brooklyn's dialogue was way older than you would expect from a six year old, but hey, it's a sweet Christmas story. I coudn't help but keep turning the pages until I reached the end and even though I knew how the story would end (it's a romance so happy ever after is pretty much a given) I smiled with satisfaction when everything fell into place.

Meg and Ty had a relationship that just happens and sometimes you don't realize until you are in the thick of it. Ty didn't want a ready made family and Meg didn't want someone that didn't want kids. Sometimes though what we want isn't always the best for us, as Meg and Ty soon learn.

Ty had already raised his sister, when he was 18 and her 10, because their parents died. Meg had married and found love, only to see her self pregnant with a guy who didn't want kids. So he left her and Brooklyn, might I say before Brooklyn was born.

They one item I would like to understand better is the Christmas presents, as in Brooklyn dad's appearance is left in wonder. Was he a ghost? There? Could be a mystery or an opening for another book.

Looking forward to more stories about the Bar V5.

Meg Redstone has a new job at the Bar V5 Dude Ranch , she is in charge of guest services and event planning.and besides her wages she is provided with a cabin that is larger than her old apartment and the ranch is just such a nice place to raise her six year old daughter Brooklyn.
Everything is just so perfect until she finds herself falling for the foreman and one of the partners in the ranch Tyler Murphy and he is a confirmed bachelor who is dead set against becoming a family man.
This is a wonderful story with the antics of little Brooklyn just adding to it.
Its not a cliff hanger but I was not ready for it to be over,it could have used another chapter or two or ten or twenty.

Meg is a single mom newly hired at the Bar V5 ranch. Ty is co-owner of the ranch and after having raised his sister after their parents died, vows to never be a parent again.
I loved the way Caitlin and Noah's wedding at the Bar V5 got me in the Christmas spirit already. Meg was a wonderful event coordinator and an even better mother. She is someone I could definitely be friends with in real life. I really appreciated how honest Ty was with Meg in regards to not wanting a family. But then again, never say never. This was a very sweet and heartwarming story. And yet again I'm finding myself craving some of Rachel's gingerbread.

Marietta is the town to be in when it comes to celebrating Christmas. Decorations abound in stores and in the streets. Tyler Murphy, half owner of the BarV5 dude ranch loves the decorations and the season but he has a problem with the way Meg Redstone has decorated the barn. Meg is the ranch's guest services person and event planner. She's also in charge of the decorations, too wrong for Tyler's eyes and he lets her know. Off on the wrong foot, for sure! He finds Meg very attractive except for the fact that she has a 6 year old daughter. He raised his sister and is done with all that. He thinks, "No thanks" but Christmas magic has ways to change people, Tyler included.

Melissa McClone delivers a wonder Christmas novella with Mistletoe Wedding book #2 in the Montana Born Christmas book series. It is so nice to visit the Bar V5 dude ranch again in Marietta Montana. Meg who is a single mom with a 6 year old daughter Brooklyn is the event planner for the dude ranch. Meg just wants to be the best mom she can be to her daughter. Ty is the ranch foreman who doesn't want to get involved with anyone with children. Both Meg and Ty are not looking for love but that is usually when love comes calling. Melissa McClone delivers a sweet, heart-warming romance with a great cast of characters, an adorable child and holiday spirit. A good read!!

A Montana Mistletoe Wedding

Melissa McClone is still a relatively new author to me and with each one of her books I read I enjoy her writing even more.
Ty Murphy already raised his sister by himself after their parents died, now he has no interest in having any children or a permanent relationship. Meg Redstone has been a single parent since her daughter was born, all she wants is a good job and to be able to raise her daughter in Montana. Ty is part owner and foreman at the guest ranch Meg is working as a guest and events coordinator. As they get to know each other, both make it clear they can be friends since neither one if them want more, but is it really possible?

Ty is happy with his busy life on the Ranch in Marietta Montana, sure he gets lonely from time to time and wishes he had a lady to spend his nights wit.h But, after sacrificing so much of his childhood raising his young sister after they were orphaned Ty is set in his ways about not wanting a family. If any woman wants to be a part of his life it is going to be without marriage or children. With a Christmas wedding to plan and decorate for at the ranch on top of all the other daily chores who would have thought that fate would find time to worm a beautiful woman into his heart this holiday season.
