Lex Miller, a nineteen year old who is no stranger to human trafficking, has decided to follow her parents' footsteps in their fight to abolish the 21st Century slavery epidemic. But she plans to do so in her own way...from the inside. Through a strange twist of fate, Lex allows herself to be taken into slavery, leaving her family, her friends, and her dreams behind in an effort to share the Gospel with women abducted and sold throughout the world.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I originally picked up Lex originally, but it turned out to be a pretty powerful story. Lex is a story of a teenaged girl who enters the dark worlds of prostitution and visits one brothel after another, but Lex is a missionary. She shares the good news with all the girls she meets and even in the difficulties that have become her life she tries to stand by God and the mission he has given her. Lex is definitely a very Christian book; faith is extremely present in every part of the book. I personally thought the author improved her writing a lot as the book went on. Some of the minor events that took place throughout the book seemed a little far fetched at times. In spite of that, the novel was good; especially since it was a debut novel.
