It’s the end of the school term for anthropology professor Luke Littlefield and he’s looking forward to summer and sharing a field experience with his graduate interns. When Luke’s old college professor calls with a forensic project, Luke and his interns head to Maine with the task of identifying grave sites at the old Brookfield Asylum. When the crew begin to explore the old cemetery they discover evidence of a recent murder.
Stephen E. Stanley has been an educator for over thirty years, first as a high school English instructor and then as a full-time teacher mentor for secondary education in a large New Hampshire school district. He grew up in Bath, Maine and currently resides in New Hampshire.
There is so much to like about this book and the other Luke Littlefield mysteries. The characters are well rounded and so very interesting. The story is fast paced, a real page turner as they say. The conclusion is satisfying. There is a dash of humor that I enjoyed. Give yourself a gift of a great read.
You will be getting a great adventure in reading this book. Your heart will laugh and your senses will be excited with mystery of all that takes place. This is one you will be up late reading. I couldn't put it down. Don't pass this up it's a book you will remember.
Fun premise and great characters and situations and a truly enjoyable mystery. Again though, needs loads of editing as the typos, misspelled words, misnamed characters and assorted sloppiness detracts from an otherwise enjoyable read.
Entertaining read. I like this series and the characters. Stanley's wrap-up endings come a little too fast and taste like watered down whiskey. Still, the fun of his stories make up for the less that perfect timing and better clue placement he could create. And I'm always satisfied with the happy resolution for the characters with whom I'm sympathetic.
