Swept Away Volume Two

Rate this book
Ethan Williams is the worst man for me. The dangerous choice. The choice most likely to hurt me. Ethan will never give me the long-term happiness I yearn for.

Of course I choose him. He’s the bigger risk. The man I know very little about. The man who’s almost guaranteed me that he’ll do nothing but hurt me. That’s the one I want.

What the hell is wrong with me?

I was falling in love with Ethan—even though he was going to walk away from me forever in less than three weeks. But I wasn’t going to think about that. I’d enjoy this time we had together on the open ocean, then, once we got to Hawaii, I’d let him go. No regrets.

But Ethan’s secrets were deeper and darker than I could have ever imagined. I’d put my trust into someone who gave me almost nothing of himself.

And if I wasn’t careful, his secrets could kill me.

Warning: Swept Away is a 4-part serial. This story is messy and twisted and very, very sexy. It is not for people under 18.

Swept Away Volume Two is part of a four book novella serial.

It's suspenseful and romantic. A FABULOUS combination.

Volume two continues the action from the first book….. The OMG moment is addressed. I can’t say it's resolved, but we understand the feelings of certain characters towards the revelation that's revealed at the end of the first part.

The relationship and dynamic between the various characters continues to develop and the plot evolves further.

We continue to get snippets from the mysterious character which further develops the intrigue of the story.

Ethan is still yummy and lovely and has some gorgeous intimate and sexy moments with Tara, although it isn't plain sailing for them, pardon the pun. They have a lot of emotions to work through which creates brilliant tension and a smidgen of angst. We learn more about him and the reasons why he decided to join the sailing trip in the first place.

We start to uncover how the story all links together...

Swept Away Volume Two finishes on another Oh. My. Goodness! I love the mini cliff hangers at the end of the first two volumes taking the reader to the climax of the story... Making us anticipate the next installment. It's a really great serial read. If I'm honest I was getting that 3 star feeling through the early stages of this volume but it builds and builds on the suspenseful-romantic nature and by the end I was engrossed and convinced of 4 solid stars.

Part two of this exciting and suspenceful four part series, kicked up the secrets and action up to a whole new level! This installment kept me on my toes for such a huge portion of the book. Lots happens, some good and some not good; but it held my interest the whole way through.

Of course, with any good suspence story; some questions get answered and several more questions need to be asked. The "relationship" between Ethan and Tara becomes a lot more intense, and their intimate scenes together are blazing hot! This story wasn't all about sex though, it had some major situations explode, and suddenly the exciting voyage to Hawaii turns into a trip of terror. I am very eager for the next installment, as we were left with a very interesting revelation at the end of this story. Bring on book three! I can't wait to see what more will transpire, as well as what will happen between Ethan and Tara!

J. Haymore continues to impress me with her top quality writing, and her smooth way she is able to weave a story full of action, romance, and suspence. Her talent shines through in every written word on the page. I will definitely be looking into her other past works, and of course with any future storied as well.

Received ARC from author in exchange for an honest review. Due to be released November 3/14 and is Part 2 out of a 4 part serial..Loving it so far!

There isn’t much that can be said without giving away any of the story, so I’ll be keeping this one short and sweet.

In the second installment Tara finds herself having to make a choice she never imagined having to make, this opened up the story to allow for some pretty intense and raw emotional moments. And although Tara makes her choice, I don’t think this little problem is going to away anytime soon.

But just as one aspect of the story settles, more mysterious things begin to occur and suddenly the trip to paradise is becoming a nightmare. The connections the characters share are slowly coming to light and the insight from our mystery character continues to build a much larger story than just a few folks on a boat.

I am a little surprised at how much I am enjoying this series. I didn’t expect the level of suspense that this one packs at all. I figured we’d get a little twist about midway through and the rest would just be a romance, but each of these seems to be packed full with their own little twists and turns.

The characters in this were okay again, but they had more annoying moments than they did in book one.

This was an alright read, but it dragged for me at points.

The ending to this one was a cliffhanger again, but this one was actually bigger. Will have to read the third one now to see what happens!

This is part two of a four part serial... not to be read as a stand alone.
Lots of action in part two and the ending took me by surprise! The mystery is beginning to unfold but there are still plenty of unanswered questions... so I'll definitely be moving on to part three. I had a few guesses as to the truth behind Ethan being on board and I think I'm pretty close to figuring out the mystery... we'll see if my predictions are correct!
This story reminds me of one of those afternoon Lifetime movies... where the story gets a little crazy and you are totally glued to the screen to see how far the crazy goes.
I'm not going to say anything specific about the plot... it's romantic suspense... and don't want to take away the element of surprise.
So far I am enjoying this series... and now on to part three!

I was a little hesitant at first to start reading the second part of the series when the first book didn't completely win me over. But then the author kindly offered me a copy and I just couldn't refuse, because I admit I was still a little curious as to what the big secret around Ethan was.

I made a guess when I finished the first book and I was right!

I liked this one more than the first, the story and the pace picked up a little and we had some answers as to who was behind the murder attempts against Tara (but we still don't know why). But (and yes, there is a but) I still have some problems with the characters who were really naives at some moments and it was getting annoying especially with Tara, the heroine. She believed that Ethan never lied to her and was completely honest with her when she didn't even knew the real reason of why he's on the boat. Also, what I didn't enjoy was the "insta love" part when she already knew that she was in love with Ethan when in fact, she just met him a few days (or weeks) ago.

She was angry at her bestfriend Kyle because he didn't tell her about his feelings for her when she was still healing from the accident. I couldn't understand how she could blame him for hurting Nalami when he already said it wasn't really a serious Relationship. So basically, it's not going well for them to be more than just friends. She also said that , and I just couldn't understand it.

Overall, I enjoyed this one more and I'm curious about how it will evolve in the next part.

I was given an ARC for all 4 books that will be published soon as 1 novel so my review will encompass all serials. and this will be my review for all of them.

4 Wreckage Stars

This series starts off with a serious bang!

5 people sail to Hawaii and each one has their own reasons to do it.. I cant wait to find out what they are

5 people get on a boat that is going from LA to Honolulu and each person goes for their own reasons. The series main character Tara has been dealt and aweful hand and is going to give herself some strength and adventure before she starts her new job. Tara lost both of her parents very young and earlier in the year she and her sister were driving to meet Em’s boyfriend who she was raving about when all of a sudden the breaks don’t work which winds Tara up in the hospital and Em dies. While Tara goes through her physical therapy and recovers still with a limp in her leg and many scars she decides she is going to grab a frozen dinner at the convenience store near he house because its as far as she can walk with her cane. While perusing frozen entrees and selecting a burrito the store is robbed and the robber spots Tara and aims his gun to shoot her when a mysterious person jumps in the way and takes the bullet. Tara in a huge wave of fear leaves and never sees the stranger. Her best friend on board also Kyle has been her rock the entire time and decides this is a good adventure for her. Her friend Tyler is dating Nalani who is sailing the ship. Each member has sailing experience and all add to the crew. Ethan and Tara have instant sparks between them and cant stay away from each other no matter how much Ethan would rather. They are drawn like moths to a flame and I love the character development. There is also another crew member Mick who makes everyone uncomfortable because he is pretty recluse and is constantly watching the crew. In the series there are a bunch of “accidents” that almost kill Tara, Ethan and the rest of the crew. There is also a secret passenger on the boat who isn’t actually on the boat but involved along the way in a very sinister way. I think book 2 of the series was the best true serial read it was enough information to make people have to read the next part. There are a lot of twists and turns in this serial and I love all the revelations! We learn about Tara and Ethan for the most part. I would of liked more information on Kyle since as you read it is a pretty important part of the series. The book ends with death, mysteries being solved, attempted murder, murder, love, loss, friendships being torn apart and an insta love.

I have to admit I get more and more impressed with Haymore every single time that I read material penned by her. The same can certainly be said for volume two of her latest series Swept Away. The second part consumed me in a way that I could not stop turning the pages because I needed to know what was going to happen next.

From what I have read of this series I have found it to be so good, so sinful and not too mention hot! I think readers are going to be impressed by the second volume because while it does follow in suit with the first volume the relationship between Tara and Ethan grows deeper and darker. There are sides revealed between the two characters that readers hadn't witnessed in the first part of the series.

The tension in this book heats up as well. There are decisions that have to be made. Decisions that I don't think that either Tara nor Ethan are prepared to make even if it is something that they have to do. I also think that Tara is drawn to Ethan for all the wrong reasons, but it is her love for him that I think that drawls me most into the plot. In many ways this kind of darker romance reminds me the story of Romeo and Juliet because Tara's undying love could ultimately lead to her death.

Tara is one of my favorite characters. She is a strong individual with everything in her life beginning to turn upside including her relationship with Ethan. As Tara grows closer to Ethan, the thicker the plot grows with the secrets that Ethan is concealing from the woman he loves.

It's obvious that this series not tamed. I wouldn't want it to be. It's dark, sexual and wild. It may not be for all readers mostly those that are sensitive but I would suggest giving this series a try. If you do make that decision you need to read the series in exact order as I mentioned above the books follow in a direct line with one another and you will find yourself lost if you do not read in the correct order.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to continuing with volume three and four of this series and once you read it I think you will see how easily one can get hooked by Haymore.

Oh my... I had to read the third! Review to come!

***************************************************************
ARC provided bt NetGalley for an honest review.

After one incident, things going to be more stranger than before, with a tension and more « accidents » to come. Volume two is more focus on Tara and Ethan’s relationship, even if there’s always the part of mystery.

In this one, Ethan is fighting his attraction for Tara so hard that she couldn’t understand the reason. He played hot and cold with her, like if something was restraining him whereas Tara was irrevocably falling for him. She ’s got it bad!
Ethan was the king of the mixed signals i was lost as Tara and tried to understand why they couldn’t happen. But the intensity was always there and J. Haymore succeeded to keep us hanging on.
The suspense, mystery, melt with romance this time, with Ethan’s intensity and will to protect Tara, to be with her.
And oh my this man is a not only a man of words but actions too, and how can i say it? Hot and intense!!! Their relationship step to an another level in this one and there was a hot moment between the two of them when they were on watch one night and it makes me blush!!!
But Ethan had deep secrets on his own and maybe may destroyed this balance between them.
Who can she trust? It was like everyone there was hiding secrets, and becoming asking questions about people’s real motives.
Good job again!

ARC generously provided by publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

So the ARC I received was for volumes 1-4 so I am going to write one review that will be for all four books in one. If you have not read all the books then I would suggest you skip this review and read all the volumes before reading my review. I will try to write it without any spoilers but as my memory isn't as good as it use to be I may forget which part was in which volume.

Tara has been breathing but not living, now she is on an adventure of a life time and has met Ethan, a man she just can't seem to resist. But now between her best friend declaring his love for her, mysterious accidents happening on the ship and now crew members disappearing and ships blowing up, Tara isn't sure how much more she can handle.

This story is full of secrets and surprises, Ethan is holding something back from Tara, something that will totally destroy her. Can their relationship work or will they even live long enough to find out.

Part three revealed a lot of items, one thing we can all agree on is that Ethan's ex is a psycho. There are lots of twists and turns and the story keeps you on your toes. The only thing that bothered me was how the ex got away with all she did, but this story definitely kept my attention and I couldn't stand not finding out what was going to happen.

*I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

Writing this opinion without spoiling too much is not going to be easy. Swept Away - volume two begins exactly where volume one ended, with Tara having to deal with a revelation that changes everything in her life. And she hasn’t even started to deal with it when she is the victim of another attack and, this time, there’s no doubt that it wasn’t an accident...

The attacker’s identity is uncovered but he’s able to escape before he’s confronted with what he’s done and he leaves the rest of the crew in a tight spot.

Meanwhile, Tara and Ethan’s relationship continues to evolve even though their stipulation that it’s going to end at the end of their voyage is still in effect. And there is another really scorching scene between them...

The final cliffhanger is even more exasperating than the previous one and I’m predicting the one on volume three is going to be even worse, so I really recommend reading them all...

Some of the mysteries start to unravel (and my suspicions were correct after all) but there is still so much to uncover… What is the real identity of Tara’s attacker? And why does he want her dead? And what happened to Justine? And what is it that Ethan knows but won’t share?

It’s pretty obvious that volume three is going to be my next read isn’t it?

Volume two picks up right where one ended, but with even more suspense and some serious shockers!

The sailing trip from L.A. to Hawaii has turned into somewhat of a nightmare for Tara. Strange things keep happening and it's left her unsure of who she can trust. Things have been awkward with her best friend Kyle since his startling revelation and Ethan, the guy she is seriously falling for, still seems to be hiding something. He's everything she wants and always seems to be there to protect her, so why shouldn't she trust him?

There were so many things that took me by surprise, especially the ending! I had to pick up the next book immediately. The writing was great and the chemistry between Ethan and Tara was pretty fierce. This is so much more than just a romance, it's full of suspense and Justine definitely adds a creep factor to the story. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next.

Very rarely do I increase my rating on the second book, but this is going at a nice pace, with revelations, more attempted murder, and more questions.

And more intense sexual chemistry between Ethan and Tara.

Some pretty major bombs are dropped in the last chapters of part 2

SPOILERS: Kyle's revelation that he's in love with Tara isn't exactly a shock, but it's still uncomfortable and I'm unclear as to the reason why this was even necessary, except to maybe force Ethan's hand regarding his feelings for Tara. It also paints Kyle as an a-hole, frankly I'm still not sure why he and T were friends. There are more flashbacks to Justine, Ethan's mentally unstable ex-gf. It's clear from this that Tara's been a target, but it's unsure for how long and exactly by whom -- we're presuming it's Justine or her father -- and why Tara would be targeted at all. We learn that Mick isn't who he says he is and he escapes on the dingy. I've learned more about catamarrans than I've ever wanted to know.

This is the second book in a four part serial and should not be read along.

This is only the second book that I've read by J. Haymore but I keep becoming more and more impressed with her work. The plot of this story is fantastic and will keep you on your toes. Just when you think you understand what's happening, something happens and and everything changes.

Tara and Ethan have begun to grow closer aboard the Temptation, though this trip is far from smooth sailing. This book begins right where volume one left off, with Kyle confessing his love for Tara. Now Tara is caught between her best friend and the man that she can't stop thinking about. Meanwhile, the sabotage continues with some possible life threatening consequences. And just when you think the book can't get anymore interesting...a major bomb is dropped that will threaten to tear Tar and Ethan apart for ever.

Wow! I finished this book in one day, it was so good. The suspense is really racheting up, and this boat ride is beginning to feel like a prison. Tara and Ethan's relation is deepening and they have some yummy love scenes. Even so, you feel there's something else there, that Ethan is hiding from Tara. Reading the Justine excerpts in the story, I was beginning to get my suspicions of what was going on. And the boat trip is beginning to feel more and more dangerous. It was hard for Tara to feel like she was alienating Nalani and Kyle; and Mick was giving her the willies. It all sounds like a runaway train that is going towards some catastrophy. The author did a great job escalating the suspense and with the Justine excerpts, she made us bite our nails, wondering how Ethan is going to be able to protect Tara from all this evil. Then the cliffhanger and we're left with our mouths open...

All I can say is WOW! Part 2 of this romance / suspense book had me on pins and needles! I REFUSE to give away the story (at least as I know it through past 2), so my review will be somewhat brief! Ms. Haymore has a true talent for writing suspense. Just about the time you think you've figured out what going to happened - Bam - the story hits you with another twist!

Our heroine, Tara, is truly falling for Ethan while everything around them is going wrong! Who is out to hurt them? Or is someone just out to hurt Tara or Ethan? Is Ethan what he appears to be? Will they explore their mutual attraction?

All I can say is this is definitely a must read book (just remember it's written in 4 parts - and so far parts 1 & 2 of this suspenseful romance are worth a gripping 2 thumbs up)! On to part 3

ARC kindle provided by Jennifer Haymore in exchange for an honest review!

So just in case you didn't get it before, Jeniffer Haymore can ROCK a story! This second installment of Swept Away was just as intense if not more so than the first. It's really hard to review installments like these without giving away the plot. I CAN tell you that with every question that is answered ... WHAM .... another one pops up! This is seriously one of the BEST nail-biting, suspenseful stories I've read in quite some time! Our H/h become more involved and it's INTENSE and SCORCHING HOT!

I'm telling ya, you won't see ANYTHING coming! It's FANFRIKKINTASTIC!

Now on to Part 3 ........ (I may need a calming medication! lol)

At the end of Volume 1, we were left with a huge announcement having been overheard. It wasn't a huge cliffhanger, but enough to keep me interested in wanting to see what happened next.

I won't say that the announcement surprised me, but Tara's reaction did. I was also surprised by how much of the book her reaction actually took up. It wasn't tedious or boring, just surprising. However, the aftermath certainly led to some tension and awkwardness. And, of course, Tara is at the center of it.

There are more mysterious happenings, and while we got some answers regarding them, they also left us with more questions!

The ending was super-intense! I'm still in shock as to what happened and what we found out, and I can't wait to read more!

Didn't see that ending coming! That was perfect!!

I was surprised by how many mysteries were revealed in volume 2. Makes me wonder what else is going to come out of left field. Half the series is left to unfold.

And I wish so much about Justine hadn't been revealed. It seems too early to learn this about her. At this point, I think it is obvious what is going on. But on the other hand, it is early in the series. I really hope the story keeps expanding and more mysteries are to come. Just have to keep reading!!

This is book two in the Swept Away serial from J. Haymore. This does pick up right where book one ends so be sure to read these in order. Tara is doing a lot to break out of her shell including taking a 3 week journey across the ocean. On the boat with her best friend Kyle she meets a man that takes her breath away, Ethan. But Kyle can’t let Tara get away because he’s been hiding a secret. As Tara sorts through her feelings for her best friend and sexy Ethan danger heats up on the boat as accidents start to look more and more like sabotage. Since this is a serial you are left on a cliff hanger so I suggest having book three close by so you can jump right in. Fun read!

I liked this a lot better than part 1. The suspense is really building now and we're trying to figure out what is going on. Why are mysterious things happening and who is behind them? Tara and Ethan's relationship is getting a lot more steamy but there is still something there between them that we're not finding out from Ethan. The parts Justine writes are getting more interesting and I'm starting to figure out who she is and why she's important to the story. Can't wait for part 3!

This is the 2nd part of this serial. And wow, I am completely hooked and so happy that I have the third part already. Secrets do start coming out in this part. Between someone trying to kill Tara, Kyle and both Ethan have things to reveal to her. I figured Kyle's out, but boy, I wasn't expecting Ethan's at all. I need to start on the 3rd part ASAP to find out what happens next. I'm not usually big on serials, but this one is great.

The book is fast paced, there's no lull in the action or mystery at all. I love it!

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley. This is a suspense filled read with one spin after another. (In a good way) The sparks are flying between Tara and Ethan while her relationship with Kyle has become strained.Through a series of traumatic events the story takes an entirely unexpected twist. While Tara is still reeling from yet another tragic shock Ethan drops a bombshell in her lap that leaves her completely shaken and unable to determine what is real. Awesome cliff hanger!!

Swept Away vol. 2 makes me really not like Tara. I have decided she is too self-absorbed in her own pain and emotions that she does not see that she is being a terrible friend to Kyle. Tara is willing to choose a guy she has only known for two weeks over BFF Kyle. And even with my Tara angst, vol. 2 has me hooked now. I really want to continue reading. Things are really getting exciting.

Ok so Justine is just plain creepy, and I’m left wondering what crazy part of this story she is going to play…..

We learn some more about Ethan but he is still a mystery to me. Especially with that ending! ACK!
Then there is Kyle and can I just say that I still love him….

This addition is full of twists and turns that leave you questioning everything.

Now on to book three…..
