Stacy Green is still hitting it out of the ballpark with Little Child Gone, the 10th book in her thrilling and gripping Nikki Hunt series!!!!!! Woohoo! The thrilling and shocking prologue had me glued to the pages! That not only piqued my interest but had my heart pounding right away! Talk about an opener! I had to, not I needed to know more. Stacy Green delivered and then some! Wowza, what a book!
This book starts off strongly and never lets up as Special Agent Nikki Hunt is called to a home with a hidden room and the bones of two people have just been found!!!!! Nikki can't help but wonder if the bones belong to a housekeeper and her children who went missing from the home ten years earlier. Then she receives a frantic phone call from a local sheriff informing her that Taylor Hall, a fourteen-year-old has gone missing from his family's home!
Whew! Nikki has a lot on her plate in this book as she investigates the current case and wonders if it could in any way be connected to the cold case she is also investigating. This book had me turning the pages at warp speed. I was fully invested in the mystery and the investigative work. As with the other books in the series, I enjoyed getting glimpses into Nikki's private life as well which I always love. It has been wonderful reading the character development of Nikki, her daughter and those in their lives over the course of this series. I enjoy how the author balances Nikki's home and professional lives.
As with the other books in this series, Little Child Gone is brimming with tension, dread, suspense, and danger. It also has a nice number of twists and turns as well. Although this book is the 10th book in the series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone. Having said that, this is such a fantastic series that I recommend picking it up and reading it from the very beginning!

Little Child Gone by Stacy Green is the 10th in the FBI Agent Nikki Hunt series, and looks at the case of a missing 14-year old boy, as well as a cold case.
First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture, and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
This was a really good addition to the series. Nikki Hunt is a wonderful character. Her compassion, empathy, and determination to find the truth once again shines through. Liam and Courtney also have the same characteristics, so they make a good team. I love Sheriff Miller.
I like how the story went back and forth between the housekeeper's story, and the Hall family. This worked very well to keep us a little better informed.
The story looked at physical, mental, and emotional abuse of both adults and children. Manipulation was a key factor. This is a complex tale, with a lot of characters, as the story involves three different cases being investigated The plot, although somewhat predictable, had a number of twists. There was one twist right at the end that I did not see coming.
This book is fast-paced, and action packed. So, pay attention!
Definitely recommend this series....and do yourself a favour, read them in order!

I have enjoyed this whole series as FBI agent Nikki Hunt is one of my favorite characters. She gets a call from a friend that he discovered two bodies in a hidden room when he was remodeling a house. My curiosity was peaked instantly and I wondered how this was all going to unfold.
This one was a wild ride from present case of a missing teen and a case from the past. Nikki is determined to find out the truth and discovers a web of lies. I loved all the many layers of this one like peeling back an onion one clue at a time with many twists along the way.

Imagine buying a house and wanting to renovate it. You’ll probably come across a few things left behind by the previous owners, but what the new owner discovered in a cupboard is something no one ever wants to experience.
Is this a new case for our top FBI agent Nikki Hunt? Technically, no—but since the gruesome discovery was made by a friend of hers, she decides to go to the scene anyway. She doesn’t get much time to dig into it, as the disappearance of a teenager demands her full attention.
The book starts off promisingly, with a part that takes us back in time, immediately sparking my inner detective.
Many questions swirled in my mind. Are these two separate cases that Nikki and her team have to deal with, or could there be a connection between the recent disappearance and previous incidents? Or perhaps the cold case and the missing boy are linked?
Nikki is a strong woman who has already endured traumatic experiences and doesn’t let herself be easily shaken. If you want to intimidate her, you’ll have to wake up early—because nothing and no one will stop her from doing what she does best: bringing justice.
Once again, it becomes clear that people are often very good at hiding their true nature, and that someone who is seen as a god by the outside world can turn into a real devil behind closed doors.
I once again thoroughly enjoyed this thrilling installment of an amazing series. I'm ready for Nikki's next adventure. 5 stars.

Wow, this was my first experience with this author and series but it certainly won’t be my last! I was up until 4am because I simply could NOT put this one down until I was finished
Nikki Hunt is a very likable character, an FBI agent called to investigate two decomposed bodies found in a boarded up apartment. The story takes hold within the first pages and never lets go.
Even with multiple character and story arcs (ex: a cold case and an active missing persons case being investigated simultaneously), the book is easy to read and follow. The story kept me guessing until the very end, with so many twists and turns I couldn’t put my finger on exactly who did what. But not in a frustrating or confused way….more of an intriguing “how does this crazy puzzle fit together??” way!
I can’t wait to read more about Nikki in the previous 9 books!

I’ve been so excited for this one for months now! I’m a big fan of Stacy Green and the Nikki Hunt series. This was a page turner and a hard to put down book for me. There’s always twists and turns and this book takes you on quite the roller coaster ride. I did not see some of those twists and turns coming! A Complex And Engaging Novel
Rebecca is dropped off very late by a rich boyfriend. In the morning, she wakes late and goes to do some laundry. A ticket stub falls to the floor. Her mother picks it up and tells her that she must never go out without telling her. Rebecca tells her that no one has seen her. It is dark, raining, and thundering. Her mother grabs her and forces her to look out the kitchen window. After a lightning strike nearby, she can see something white on a nearby tree. Her mother presses something into Rebecca's hand. She tells Rebecca that she knows where the gas station is and she knows what to do. Her mother tells her that it is her veil. He is here. Rebecca thinks she saw a shadow running across the yard. Her mother tells her to get Bailey and run. From this start, a very complex mystery begins.
This novel has three main storyline threads. The first thread is the investigation of two bodies found in a closet of an apartment next to the main house on a farm that hasn’t been used for years. A woman with her three children who helped the owner but disappeared without a trace more than 10 years earlier. Only a few people alive remember her. Detective Hunt walked into a very cold case that her boss tells her is a lower priority than her current case load and obligations. The second thread is the investigation of a missing high school student. This investigation, like the previous thread, falls within the purview of the county sheriff, who has requested Detective Hunt’s assistance. The missing boy has issues with his mother and loves his foster father. He has not stayed away from home for more than overnight. This case involves finding the truth from his younger siblings and fellow students. Getting the truth, especially the whole truth, from them is very challenging. The third thread deals with an earlier missing teenager from the same school, and a cold case murder of another student. This thread seems to heighten the tension and suspense in the first two threads. There are plenty of twists and turns that kept my understanding shifting about why things are happening and how they fit in. One was quite significant. The story is told almost exclusively by Detective Hunt. Reading how Detective Hunt solves these two cases quickly captured my attention.
There are no new major revelations in this novel that shed light on Detective Hunt’s character. Through her everyday interactions with her husband and colleagues, the reader will gain insight into her character. Much of it comes from previous novels, but this information is presented in adequate detail that reading the earlier novels is not required to understand her character.
There are minimal aspects that can cause some readers to stop reading this novel. There are no intimate scenes. Objectionable language is very low, with impious language slightly more prevalent. There is minimal violence, and it is described after the fact.
My only issue with the novel is minor. The clearing of the third thread murder and disappearance was solved very close to the end, and without much detail as to how it was achieved. The disappearance is wrapped up in a five-word paragraph at the end of the chapter just before the epilogue. I liked the fast and easy pace of the novel. The rate of discoveries and twists kept my interest in continuing to read. There were no loose ends. I have read nine books from this series. I also have purchased five more of her books that are on my to-be-read list. This author is on my Must-Read list, and I highly recommend reading this one. In the author’s notes, she states that she is working on book #11. I am waiting in great anticipation. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel and rate it with five stars.

A woman with her three children who helped the owner but disappeared without a trace more than 10 years earlier. Only a few people alive remember her. Detective Hunt walked into a very cold case that her boss tells her is a lower priority than her current case load and obligations. The second thread is the investigation of a missing high school student. This investigation, like the previous thread, falls within the purview of the county sheriff, who has requested Detective Hunt’s assistance. The missing boy has issues with his mother and loves his foster father. He has not stayed away from home for more than overnight. This case involves finding the truth from his younger siblings and fellow students. Getting the truth, especially the whole truth, from them is very challenging. The third thread deals with an earlier missing teenager from the same school, and a cold case murder of another student. This thread seems to heighten the tension and suspense in the first two threads. There are plenty of twists and turns that kept my understanding shifting about why things are happening and how they fit in. One was quite significant. The story is told almost exclusively by Detective Hunt. Reading how Detective Hunt solves these two cases quickly captured my attention.
There are no new major revelations in this novel that shed light on Detective Hunt’s character. Through her everyday interactions with her husband and colleagues, the reader will gain insight into her character. Much of it comes from previous novels, but this information is presented in adequate detail that reading the earlier novels is not required to understand her character.
There are minimal aspects that can cause some readers to stop reading this novel. There are no intimate scenes. Objectionable language is very low, with impious language slightly more prevalent. There is minimal violence, and it is described after the fact.
My only issue with the novel is minor. The clearing of the third thread murder and disappearance was solved very close to the end, and without much detail as to how it was achieved. The disappearance is wrapped up in a five-word paragraph at the end of the chapter just before the epilogue. I liked the fast and easy pace of the novel. The rate of discoveries and twists kept my interest in continuing to read. There were no loose ends. I have read nine books from this series. I also have purchased five more of her books that are on my to-be-read list. This author is on my Must-Read list, and I highly recommend reading this one. In the author’s notes, she states that she is working on book #11. I am waiting in great anticipation. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel and rate it with five stars.

This is the best series I've read. The best thriller series. I'm so glad there will be more Nikki Hunt books. This author knows how to pull you in and keep you turning the pages. Holding your interest and making you feel like you are there. Stacy Green is one fantastic thriller/mystery writer.
In this, book #10, Nikki Hunt has a couple of cases going. One a cold case. Two bodies found in a boarded up apartment in a house. The other a boy is missing. Actually there are a couple of boys missing around the same age.
Ms Smith and her three children move in with Karl Hendrickson. Not in a romantic way but to work. To help him and have a safe place to live. Karl cared deeply for Ms Smith. Like the daughter he always wanted he said. He had a daughter but she was a bit cruel. She didn't care about anyone else and hated Ms Smith and her children. She accused them of sponging off her father and stealing from him. She said they were using him to get money. Karl told his daughter to leave and never return.
When Christy and Jared's son goes missing Nikki wonders if it's possibly related to two other freshman boys who went missing. One was found washed up on the creek bed but the other was still missing. Taylor was mad at his mom and she figured that was the reason he didn't come home. Until she finds out he never showed for work. And he never contacted anyone.
There is a whole lot going on in this book but I promise it's easy to follow. You hear all about each family. Both the cold case and the newly missing boy. Nikki and her team work hard to find out who the bodies in the closet are and who took Taylor. Or if Taylor ran away. She investigates all the involved parties and uncovers a few things that these people didn't want her to know about. Or anyone to know about.
This author always writes books that keep you guessing but rarely will you figure out who did what and why. At least with this one I didn't. The descriptions are so well done and the edge of your seat thrills are perfection. Stacy Green always produces the best thriller books.

This is such a great series. There are so many lovable characters, and the balance between Nikki's personal life and her job is done perfectly. It's so nice to see a lead agent with a loving family. Her team is fantastic too.
As always, the case had me hooked. There were plenty of twists and turns which made it impossible to put the book down. I hadn't guessed who the killer was and there were some heartbreaking secrets revealed.
It can be read as a standalone, but every book in this series is fantastic, so highly recommend reading them in order.

I’ve been a fan of Stacy Green ever since I read Delta Crossroads Trilogy and the Lucy Kendall books. Now, I’m hooked on Nikki Hunt. I’ve just finished Ms. Green’s newest thriller, Little Child Gone. Hunt is a fictional FBI Agent who operates practically in my backyard; that is to say, about 90 minutes north of me. In actuality, the FBI does not operate in Stillwater, Minnesota. Their main office is 25 miles away in Minneapolis, but they do have a satellite office in the Stillwater area. So much for facts. On to the book!
Nikki is celebrating daughter Lacey’s birthday when she gets a call from a man who’s renovating an old home nearby and has made an unsettling discovery: Bones behind a closet door. A housekeeper and her children had disappeared a decade previously. What if…She’s barely arrived at the office the next day when a call comes in about a missing teenage boy. With one boy already missing, the fear is that this could be related. She talks to the parents and learns that their son never showed up for his after-school job the previous afternoon. Further interviews reveal, however, that the mother may have some “issues.” Indeed, some things don’t quite add up.

This is book #10 in the Special Agent Nikki Hunt series, and it's still just as strong as it was right at the beginning!
The prologue hit it straight off, and I knew that life would be on hold until I'd finished.
This plot resolves around two cases. Nikki is trying to help, with some push back on the case of a missing 14 year old boy when she receives a call from her friend. He has recently bought a property to redevelop and has found the remains of two people. The bodies are identified as mother and teenage son, around the same age as the boy now missing. Are they the housekeeper and one of her children who supposedly disappeared in the middle of the night 10 years ago?
Are the two cases connected somehow?
When a frantic phone call comes in from the local Sheriff, another 14 year old boy has gone missing, Nikki has to start prioritising and fast. Doing what she does best, she gets her team to work.
The previous owner of the property has since died, and his children do not get along. Whilst his son is forthcoming with any information Nikki and her team need, his daughter is extremely obstructive and obstinate. What is she trying to hide?
As always, Nikki is being pulled in every direction. Having endured an awful lot of trauma in her life, she carries on with true empathy, courage, and strength, always fighting for justice and being a voice for the ones who no longer have a voice.
This had me guessing until the very second the conclusion hit, it wasnt what or who I was expecting at all.
I love the drip feed of personal backstories we get with each installment, watching the development of Nikki's character aswell as that of her daughter. The balance of her home life and work life are executed brilliantly throughout the series.
Full to the brim with suspense, tension, dread, and danger, this is completely unputdownable. I suggest finding a comfy spot and not moving until the very end.

Special Agent Nikki Hunt is called to the scene where bones have been discovered in a home that is being renovated. There are toys scattered around, and a trunk that is padlocked looks deeply suspicious. She is intrigued and also a little sad as she thinks about the child who played with those toys. While she is at the house, she receives a call from the sheriff that a 14 year old boy (Taylor Hall) is missing. Needless to the say this case will have to take precedence as she hopes to be able to bring Taylor home to his family. But there is something about those bones that is nagging at Nikki's brain. She is determined to find answers to both mysteries.
As they dig into the Hall family, there is also something in that house that is just not quite right. Everything is just too perfect. My antenna went up immediately. There were many puzzle pieces with more than one case going on at one time, but the author keeps the story on task so that you don't lose where this one is headed. Something horrible happened in the past on that farm, but there is also something sinister going on now.
This wonderfully penned mystery will keep you on your toes as everything comes to a head with twists that I did not see coming. There was a good mix of suspense, intrigue, secrets and deceit to keep you wondering just exactly what is going on in this small town. I love the character of Nikki Hunt. There is one particular instance when she puts a local attorney in her place, and I wanted to cheer. She is fiery, laser-focused and always ready to take on the bad guys. She is definitely someone you want in your corner.

I really love this series. While this book was mainly all business, I loved we got a moment of personal life with Nikki and her daughter’s birthday party.
This one is a twofer as Nikki investigates both a cold case and a current case. Her and her team work tirelessly to solve both cases. I really liked how seamlessly Nikki and her team moved between the two cases and it never felt that one was being prioritized over the other.
The cases are complex and layered and there were a lot of characters, which in a crime novel, that means a lot of potential suspects. While the pace is quick, I still had a lot of time to try and solve the case before the team and it kept me guessing. Since I always end up suspecting everyone, I have always had the right answer at some point, but I was never seriously on the right trail. And while I always want to guess it first, I give kudos to the author for keeping me in the dark.
This has a little bit of a dark subject matter, but it never felt too heavy or more so than other crime novels. The author weaves it in in a respectful way.
If you haven’t read any of this series, but love crime novels, this is a great one to start with. But any in the series is a good choice. It’s book 10 so you have plenty of choices. This is one of my favorite police series.

Little Child Gone is the tenth book in the Nikki Hunt series. I love this series. Each book builds on the previews one. That is to say, it is not necessary to have read them all. but it is a well written series and so worth the time to read them all.

In the end, a really good hunt!👦❄
It wasn't until the second half that I really got taken up in this Nikki Hunt case of missing kids and a bizarre cache of bones in the closet of a large house recently purchased for reno. Once a fresh investigation with a teenager who had just diasappeared kicked in, I felt Nikki's case became more urgent and easier to follow. There were some good twists in the end that I had never expected and, as always, I loved the dramatic climax.
The story provides flashbacks to a family who went missing on an August night without explanation. Not too often, but the glimpses of them had a good note of suspense and dread.
This is a series I've followed for a while and I always look for the next release. This one confused and disappointed me a bit because it includes too many different law enforcement branches and agencies, particularly in the beginning when it focuses on some older cases still to be resolved.
Not a miss for me but certainly not my favorite in the series.

It wasn't until the second half that I really got taken up in this Nikki Hunt case of missing kids and a bizarre cache of bones in the closet of a large house recently purchased for reno. Once a fresh investigation with a teenager who had just diasappeared kicked in, I felt Nikki's case became more urgent and easier to follow. Little Child Gone is the 10th book in the Nikki Hunt series by Stacy Green. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone mystery or as part of the series. I am obsessed with this series and this book did not disappoint!!!
I thought this book was fast paced and fascinating! I could not put it down! Missing teen boys and the discovery of remains in an old home lead to such an incredible book!
I loved the characters and enjoyed getting to know them. I love Nikki’s character. I love that she takes care if business and bucks the system. I thought the crime solving was amazing! There was so much going on, trying to solve a cold case and several active cases. AMAZING!!!
I can’t wait for the next book to come out! I need more!!! I highly recommend reading Little Child Gone!

Nikki Hunt book #10 and still going strong!
I feel very lucky to have discovered a brilliant author such as Stacey Green from being a part of NetGalley. She’s such a hardworking author, pumping out multiple books a year - all brilliant in their own right - and yet she is still what I would call ‘undiscovered’. The world of crime fiction is a busy one, and with writers from other genres trying their hand in it, it’s a talent if you manage to stand out. For my Stacey Green is a stand out and she deserves a lot more air time and presence than I think she receives in the UK.
This latest book was brilliant. Stacey jumps straight in and from the first chapter it’s hard not to be hooked. If you’ve not read Nikki Hunt before don’t be out off that it is book 10. Each book can be read independently and still enjoyed. And enjoy it, you will!

Plot: Nikki Hunt is a fabulous in her field FBI agent who has been called to the scene of two suspicious dead bodies. There are twists. There are turns and there is an ending that blew me away. If you like mystery, clues, dark secrets, and playing the detective yourself, you will really enjoy this book.
Nikki is a great character full of grit and grind and it is portrayed beautifully in this read. You can't help but be drawn to her.
This book was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me and I really enjoyed the layout, the flow, and twists and turns along the way! I have not read the other books in the Nikki Hunt series, but this is most definitely a stand-alone read as well, so that was not an issue at all for me.
