Harlem Banks already has twenty-five million reasons to break out of the federal pen. Kiki Swinson was born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia. She discovered her flair for writing after completing her first novel, Mad Shambles, while serving a five-year sentence at a federal prison. After being released in December 1996, Kiki later went on to self-publish Mad Shambles. Her passion for writing didn't stop there. Writing feverishly into the wee hours of the night, she completed her second novel, Wifey, which was published by Melodrama Publishing. After the success of Wifey, Kiki penned the sequels I'm Still Wifey and Life After Wifey, as well as The Candy Shop and A Sticky Situation.
This book was good. I like how it had two parts to this book. They both was interesting books. It sucks that in the first book Todd had died. And Shannon lived I didn't like her one bit. And I'm so glad that Harlem and Johnnie got away lol.
This 2 part series demonstrate the wrong with gambling and how it destroy. But I like how the old people was able to get harlem money back. Read the book to understand. Harlem intuition was great
This book was even better than the first one. Shannon eventually got what she wanted in the end, even though it's not how it was supposed to end with Todd being killed. And Harlem Banks is gonna have to live his life on the run with girlfriend Jhonnie, he's not gonna be able to see his 6 year old daughter Tyler who needs heart surgery. But overall good ending to both stories. Good Job Kiki Swinson & De'Nesha Diamond.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for an honest review. Heist 2 proves the saying, 'there's no honor amongst thieves' in both included books. Whether husband and wife nor best friends. The love of money can cause betrayal between people known and unknown. I will be reading future books by these authors.
It was short but great. I liked how the action kept going throughout the book. I really liked how it ended. It was a surprising plot twist. I highly recommend this book.
I liked that this book had two stories in one. The first was very interesting and held my attention. The second had a kind of "fugitive movie" vibe to it but I still enjoyed it.
