This book was so sweet! I'm new to the romance genre, in that it's been a long time since I've picked up and read more than one romance in a row and I have been SHOCKED by how FILTHY some of them have gotten, not just with the naughty scenes, but also with the potty mouths on the characters.

I am happy to report that this book is clean, with nothing more than a few kisses and no bad language that I can recall. I'm not against naughty scenes and dirty/bad language at appropriate times, but I don't like cuss words as punctuation and every other scene doesn't need to be a lesson from the Kama Sutra. You can write a good book without that, this book is proof of that.

It was also funny, with the MC h being my almost twin re: accident prone. Oh my goodness, what happened was funny, but believable. I could so see how she got into those predicaments. I also like how not all of the contestants were mean and how the loveliest one was also the nicest one, and it wasn't the MC h! I hope we get to see her love story next...just looked it up and it EXISTS!! WOOT.

I really do enjoy the "behind the scenes" of reality TV shows idea and this book does it in a cute way. Definitely looking up more by this author. I enjoyed the writing, I enjoyed the characters, they felt real to me and the situation, while outside of what I have lived, is easy to imagine. This was one I called up my Boss about to see if we can get it in the store, because I will be handselling the HECK out of it.

4.5 stars, what the heck, rounded up to 5! It was really good and I am going to get more by this author, so I think that rates a 5 star. Recommended if you like clean contemporary romance that has humor.

My thanks to NetGalley and the author Brooke Williams for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

I found myself laughing all the way through Accept This Dandelion by Brooke Williams. Renee Lockhart, longing for a better position on the radio allows her friend to sign her up for the local TV version of "The Bachelor". From setting herself on fire, dancing a jig, wearing cut-offs to a pool party, even slapping a monkey, she has so many funny antics she would be hard to forget. And the "playboy" bachelor himself Ben McConnell who proves to be a much deeper and caring person than everyone first thought of him. Another finalist finds who finds out some "dirt" on Renee and passes it on to Ben in the hopes of helping her own chances of being the winner of his love. Who will he choose to give the dandelion and his heart too?

I enjoyed this book tremendously and highly recommend it! I received an ARC (advanced readers copy) from the author in exchange for my honest review rather it be good or bad. Thank you for allowing me the chance to read this.

Generally, I would not reach for a story set against a reality TV show, but this one sounded cute and quirky from its title to the blurb so I decided to give it a go. And I'm glad I did. This was a cute and easy-read romance and just the thing for my current mood. There was humor, misunderstanding, and a sweet romance through it all.

The story opens with local radio personality, Renee Lockhart, receiving the surprising news that she has been accepted as one of the ladies competing on a The Bachelor style program through the local TV station. Renee wouldn't mind finding love, but doubts it will be through the reality show when she realizes swinging bachelor, Ben McConnell, is the star. She is using her place on the show to hopefully catapult her into the vacant spot on the coveted morning radio program.

Unfortunately, nothing goes to plan. One mishap after another befalls her and she is like a fish out of water compared to the other contestants. But somehow, Renee keeps making it through to the next round. She thinks she has Ben pegged until her prejudices are slowly overturned and she realizes for the first time that she might really want to win this bachelor who is a real and attractive man up close and personal. Only, is she making the same impression on him?

The story is simple and doesn't try to be something it's not. It's a light-hearted piece with some tender moments and a great deal of humor. Renee's conflicting motives for being involved in the show are the vehicle for the conflict. The story is told in alternating narration which relieves the reader of guessing what Ben is thinking. It was sweet how both wanted the other to see them as genuine, but got off on the wrong foot through a series of misunderstandings.

The entire romance is conducted against the background of the show and Renee's radio station. There was some sensuality, but it was a sweet romance with nothing stronger than a shared kiss between them.

All in all, this was quick and cute! I would recommend it for those who are looking for a light romantic comedy.

I received this book to read in exchange for an honest review.

A radio announcer goes on a reality dating show to land a coveted promotion and ends up losing her heart.

Renee Lockhart is lovable and funny. She doesn't have a nasty bone in her body...so competing with two dozen other women for the city's most eligible bachelor is completely out of her comfort zone. But she needs to raise her visibility if she's going to nail a spot on her station's coveted morning show. And, anyway, it's not like she has much of a social life. Who knows? It might even be fun.

As you can probably predict, Renee's efforts at manipulation and gamesmanship go horribly wrong. Awkward, uncomfortable, she takes "bumbling" to a whole new level--setting herself on fire, fainting at inopportune moments. Worse, she develops feelings for Ben McConnell. Tired of being labeled a womanizer, he's trying to improve his own public image by coming off as romantic and serious about finding someone to build a relationship with. He finds Renee's antics amusing and endearing and keeps her on the show when anyone else would have voted her off.

Ben is appealing, but he's also quite jaded. It's nice to see him soften over the course of the novel. I do think he overreacts when he discovers Renee's "ulterior" motives for being on the show. Especially considering that he has his own. I would've dialed down the angst in the last two chapters, but that's probably because they made me cry.

ACCEPT THIS DANDELION made me laugh, sob, and cringe in embarrassment. It's a great "fish out of water" romance and my favorite Brooke Williams book to date.

This was my second book by this author. It won't be my last. Her characters are charming and the situations sweet.

Renee is pretty much forced to try out for the local Bachelor Reality Show. She figures she might as well try it, since she needs to raise her public profile if she's going to get a prime promotion at the radio station where she works. When she hears who the Bachelor is, she thinks about running. He's the local playboy. But doesn't he have pretty eyes? Yep, he does. She decides to stay in the running, well, as long as he keeps handing her dandelions! Yes, instead of roses, he hands out dandelions, because we are all pretty much weeds, aren't we?

Renee is an accident in progress from pretty much the moment she meets Ben. She certainly catches his attention when she also catches her dress on fire! Ben wonders if maybe she really does need a knight in shining armor to keep her safe. She intrigues him, to say the least.

It was fun watching these two find common ground with all the messes occurring. Never having seen the way one of these bachelor shows goes forward, this read like it could happen this way. A sweet read, for sure.

Thank you, Brooke Williams, for the opportunity to read this book.

Picture yourself as one of twelve women on a local Bachelor-type show. You really don't want to be there. You don't really have time to date. Most of all, you just wish your boss would take you seriously enough to get that promotion. This sums up Renee Lockhart.

Imagine you're a man who has a hard time connecting with women. You hardly ever go on second dates because that zing just isn't there. Because of so many first dates, the media portrays you as a playboy. In reality, you are looking for the woman you can share your life with and have a family. This is the picture the author gives us of Ben McConnell.

I fell in love with both Ben and Renee instantly. They both had their own agendas for going through with the show, but as they got to know each other and the other contestants, everything changed. Renee stood out from the very beginning, completely by accident. What Renee didn't know was that she stood out to Ben from the moment he secretly watched her audition. Things continued on a bumpy and unusual path as Ben tried to give the ladies equal attention while getting to know Renee. I was shocked at times by some of the situations the pair seemed to get themselves into. The final Dandelion ceremony had me holding my breath and hoping for the best.

This story gave me plenty of laughs and even a few tears. The chemistry between Renee and Ben was genuine, their attraction held by more than just looks. Accept this Dandelion enraptured my mind with the sweet silliness we all wish for when falling in love.

Thanks so much to Brooke Williams and Prism Book Group for gifting me with a copy of Accept this Dandelion in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars!

Renee Lockhart didn't ask to audition for a contestant on a local version of the Bachelor. Her well-meaning co-workers submitted her for the audition. Renee doesn't expect to be chosen to be on the show anyway. So when she is chosen to be on the show, she figures she can make the best of it and hopefully snag the vacant morning show host spot at her radio station. When she discovers that Ben McConnell is the bachelor on the show, Renee knows she doesn't stand a chance. She's determined to have fun. But as the show progresses and she gets to know Ben, she realizes that first impressions are often wrong.

This book was positively delightful. Really delightful. I laughed at some of Renee's antics and I really enjoyed the chemistry between her and Ben. I wasn't really sure what to expect from this book. I don't watch the bachelor-type shows on television, so I was kind of leery going into the story.

I loved some of the dates that Ben took the contestants on. I was looking forward to seeing what Renee would do on the date. Because she never failed to surprise me.

While this book isn't classified as Christian fiction to the extent of most of what I read, it is a clean book.

I received the Kindle version of this book for free from the author for the purpose of reviewing/promoting. My thoughts and opinions are my own.

Recommended to fans of romantic comedy, Janice Thompson, chick flicks.

Brooke Williams has taken a national icon, The Bachelor and served it up with a twist in her delightful romantic comedy, Accept this Dandelion.

Both Renee Lockhart and Ben McConnell go into this localized version of the dating game with hidden motives. Renee wants to boost her popularity as a radio show host, potentially winning the morning co-anchor spot at her station. And she was entered by her co-workers so it’s more a matter of making the best of an uncomfortable situation. Especially when she discovers the identity of the bachelor.

Ben McConnell is wealthy and a popular man on the social circuit with a new girl on his arm at every event. But he secretly longs for a woman who will love him for who he really is, not for what his money can buy. He hopes that among the hopeful women vying or his hand, he can find one who is real and honest.

When mishap after mishap occurs, Renee is amazed that as the least likely candidate for Ben’s hand (and weed) she continues to stay in the competition. But her motives change as time goes on and she gets to know the real Ben.

This is a story that will have you smiling from page to page, and maybe groaning in sympathy for the challenges that Renee seems to find herself in on the way to falling in love. You might even bust out laughing a time or two. Williams has written a fresh and thoroughly enjoyable romp of a romance.

Oh, how I love the Bachelor. I know it is a silly show, who goes on live TV and dates many girls just to find their true love. Yet, I still tune in (or DVR it) every week. When Accept This Dandelion showed up in my emails I knew I had to read it. I am not sorry I did.

Let’s start with the bachelor, oh Ben. I picture him meeting the girls, have a cocktail party, and trying to figure out how you are going to come out alive with a dozen women all wanting and demanding your attention. While he may not believe he will find love on this show, at least he knows what he wants. He wants love, he wants a real relationship, and he is willing to send the girls who are not interested home. Then he meets Renee Lockhart.

Renee Lockhart. I truly believe that anyone who meets her has their life changed forever. Her klutziness, her truthfulness, and her open heart all endear her to Ben. I cannot imagine how you deal with the man you falling for dating other people. I understood her self doubt, her jealousy, and her wanting to be honest.

Accept This Dandelion is exactly what I hoped it would be. It is a light, fun, and easy book. I laughed out loud many times, chuckled a few other, and thoroughly enjoyed this story. I will recommend it.

Ben McConnell is a "play boy" for the local Bachelor show. The producer is wanting to find women for their local program. He hears her voice and instantly wants to know more. Ben is ready for love. Renee Lockhart is an ordinary girl that works at a radio station wanting to get their name out there to the world. She went in for the audition for the show, she fumbled, she got embarrassed and had no idea what to say but Ben saw something in her. Together they will be doing a show called Accept this Dandelion. Ben takes the women through a series of dates and they are very comical to me. They finally get to spend some alone time together without cameras in the face and it's magical. The other finalist found out some not so true dirt on Renee and told Ben but can true love conquer all or will it crumble and fall? This is a sweet and full of love book. Truly a good read.

What I liked most about this romantic comedy? Renee's segments on the dating show kept me guessing, as much as they did Ben, I'm sure.

It was enjoyable for me as a reader to take trips with the both of them on local radio and television, as these characters really come off as people anyone might meet or hear about in one's hometown. The book is repetitive at points, where the narrator restates or rehashes the same information for the reader without necessarily developing it further, and I would've liked to see the heroine grow to become less self-deprecating in the end, at least a little.

But the novel's climax is a satisfying one, and this book has my recommendation for readers of clean romance looking for a fun and uplifting story.

Renee wants to become the morning radio show host. She is desperate to raise her profile and her colleagues sign her up for a Bachelor type show. She’s hoping that this will help her secure the new job. Ben secretly sees her audition and asks for her to be on the show.
She bumbles through the show and many amusing scenes. She also falls for Ben. He is on the show trying to show his real side rather than the playboy image he has. He wants a girlfriend who like’s ‘him’ rather than his money. Renee’s catastrophes endear her to him and he keeps her on the show.
Their chemistry draws them to each other and they enjoy their time together. Another constestant tries to use a story about Renee to wreck her chances of winning. Will Ben listen and decide his future doesn't belong with Renee.
Quite a fun read.

Accept this Dandelion is a page turning romantic comedy that kept me laughing and wondering what would happen next. The storyline was fun to read because it gives a behind-the-scenes look at a local version of, The Bachelor. I found myself rooting for the main character, Renee to win because she was more like an average girl — not what you would typically find on a reality show. Her antics during the book were enjoyable to read about and made me laugh out loud on multiple occasions. I also appreciated the underlying theme of finding the beauty inside a person, rather than just looking to outward appearances. This was a very enjoyable read that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys sweet and clean romances. It gets five stars from me!

This is a fun unexpected read. Right from the start we follow Renee through multiple mishaps on a public TV bachelor show.
Being a big fan of the Bachelor at one time I enjoyed s comical local themed bachelor take. You get s bit of behind the scene friend making and catty contestsnts.
You can't help but root for Renee as she bumps through the contest trying to win Ben's last dandelion. Ben is a public playboy who wants a better image of himself, a truer image.
5 stars all the way, I flew through the pages, I just could not get enough!

This story is like getting a behind the scenes glance at an unscripted, unedited version of The Bachelor. I myself am not a big fan of shows like The Bachelor, the idea of finding true love by dating 30 women at worth seems crazy to me. That being said, I did enjoy this story. It was well written and kept my attention throughout. Interesting characters, a few funny scenes, and sweet romance.

I enjoyed the love story between Renee and Ben who meet each other on an entertainment show about a bachelor finding his true love amongst a group of women. This was similar to 'The Bachelor' on TV.

Renee decides to be a guest on the show to raise her public profile so she can get a promotion in her radio work, but when they start filming, she makes a series of blunders and definitely becomes noticed by the public.

Renee and Ben fall in love during the show, but the situation gets complicated when Ben discovers the truth about Renee, impacting the outcome of the show.

I found Renee as a character to be a little unlikeable for me at first, but she eventually grew on me. Ben was a true gentleman who managed to convince the public he was not the person the community thought he was.

Of course, most romance stories have a happy ending, so there is a satisfying resolution. It is well worth the read.

If you are after a fast and simple read, without a complicated plot or torturing drama, then this is the book for you. A rather childish and clumsy girl who doesn't like to conform to the stereotypical woman and what looks like a shallow man who is used to being surrounded by even more shallow women meet at a dating TV show. And the moment you read the first chapter, you can guess how it's going to end. Although it doesn't disappoint. I did miss having a bit more substance, like a backstory, some interesting subplots or unusual characters. But hey, you can't please everybody. It also did feel a bit chauvinistic in places (1 man to chose among 12 girls, the TV producer demanding that they wear a lot of makeup and dress up or strip down for the shots, etc.). However, it was refreshing to see the main character trying to fight preconceptions. I'm sure that fans of romantic comedy will enjoy it. I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Cute, sweet romance. The ending felt overly dramatic on both sides (his and hers), but fits the rom-com genre. I think I enjoyed The Leftover a little more than this one, but both were fun quick reads. I read them out of order, which was not really a problem since they each stand alone, and I like how the two books fit together and give us Eva's story.

Light Comedy

Really not my cup of tea, but, still an enjoyable read. I'm not a fan of the TV shows; I have a much more serious view of love and marriage but I did enjoy the shenanigans depicted in the book. Real love and marriage requires honesty, communication and total commitment!

Review for Chick Lit Central (www.chicklitcentral.com)

Renee Lockhart has her eye on a lofty goal…to fill the open position of morning radio show host on a nearby secular station. When her co-workers sign her up for a local TV version of The Bachelor, Renee goes along with it in order to raise her profile. Ben McConnell, one of the most eligible bachelors in town, insists that Renee be placed on the show, despite her bumbling audition. Ben gets much more than he expected in Renee. He gets a girl who doesn’t bow to his every whim…and a girl who opens his eyes to true, unexpected love. When nothing goes right on the local program called "Accept this Dandelion"...hilarity ensues. Imagine your worst possible dates happening...on TV! (Synopsis courtesy of Goodreads.)

I’m a closeted Bachelor fan, so you can imagine how excited I was when given the opportunity to read Accept This Dandelion. Renee is the type of woman most of us would want to emulate, I imagine. Someone who is honest, direct, and very real, which is just what Ben has been looking for. While he’s known around town as a playboy, the truth is he hasn’t found that one special lady yet, the one who keeps him interested and has just as much to say as he does. From the get go, Renee has impressed Ben by being herself, even when she’s set herself on fire or slapped a monkey on camera. Although Renee views herself as a gigantic bumbling idiot, Ben finds her antics comical and endearing.

Love is never easy, however, especially when it comes to the "Bachelor". Renee isn’t the only woman in the running. There are other beauties waiting for their own chance to fall in love with the most eligible bachelor, not to mention Renee’s motives for going on the show. All she ever wanted was to be on the radio, but when the prime objective falls secondary to her budding feelings for Ben, and the insane jealousy that crops up when other contestants catch Ben’s eye, Renee is at a complete loss when it comes to matters of the heart. Should she allow herself to fall in love with Ben? What if he doesn’t love her back, and chooses someone else, instead?

I had a hard time putting this book down. Brooke Williams has done a fantastic job of creating believable characters while sticking with the Bachelor-like essence that keeps millions of people tuned into their televisions on Monday night. There’s drama and chaos, all whipped up into a frenzy of sweetness and romance. You really don’t know what’s going to happen, who Ben will choose or if he'll find his true love in Renee or any of the other eligible ladies. Find out who receives that final dandelion!

He’s the most sought after bachelor in town. She is a disc jockey trying to get ahead in the business. He is looking to someone to give his heart to, she is looking for a little exposure. When he lets his guard down and she realizes this is more than just a career move, all bets are off and you don’t know whose going to end up with that last flower (or weed as it may be).

We are all weeds, but in a full field, they are so beautiful. When Ben decided to do this show, it wasn’t only to see if he could find “the one,” it was also to help change how he is viewed in the pubic eye. What he doesn’t expect is for the girl who looked at a dandelion as something beautiful. But she captured his eye during the casting of the show so much that he insisted that they change the name of the entire show. She had no idea who the bachelor would be but she knew this would be great exposure to help her career and the risk was worth taking.

But on their initial meeting, there is no way he would keep her… the awkward dancing, the flames just can’t be extinguished. There is something special between the two of them but there are 12 contestants…

Oh yeah, did I mention this is just like the bachelor with the petty money hungry women. But no one expected Renee… she broke the rules, twisted things around and was out of control on the track. But it made for the most interesting television this town has seen…

Now, I will be the first to admit, I haven’t watched the actual television show in years, but I may just have to go back to it. It is a great reminder at how “normal” is good and how much it is who I am. It is also exactly who Renee is. She isn’t going to feed off the frenzy and she isn’t going to do anything that makes her uncomfortable. Through it all she is going to remain true to herself and for that she may cost the guy.

This is a fun and flirty read and Ben and Renee just have a special magic about them. It doesn’t quite make it to the top of my I will read this again list, I did enjoy it. It was a sweet twist on reality tv.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Rating: 3.5 Stars

This is my first book that I have read from Brooke Williams. When I was presented with the option of reading an ARC for this story, the synopsis had be sold. The author creates characters that are very likeable and you can't help but root for their happiness.

Accept this Dandelion reminded me so much of that TV show called 'The bachelor'. I thought this story was an OK read with a little twist.

The main character Renee Lockhart was witty, unique, funny and I liked that she stayed true to herself despite all that was going on around her.
Ben was the reason behind the show. He was aiming to show the world a different side of himself and prove to everyone he was one of the good guys.

What I did not like about the story.

At first I wondered if the book was an exact replica of The Bachelor but the more I read the more I saw where the two were different. At first it was very hard to get into the story and I knew it had to do with the style in which the story was written. I love stories written in the character's point of view and find I form a better connection with the characters that way. I think if the story was written in both POV of Renee and Ben, I believe my rating would be a little higher. I do respect that the style is written in the way that the author had intended however this is my opinion.

I wanted more out of the story, a little more sparkle or fire in the story.
Overall, I liked it but I wanted to love it!!!!

As a fan of all of the popular dating shows, I absolutely loved this book! I laughed out loud several times! I could just picture some of these mishaps happening! I was left...

Ben is the most eligible bachelor looking to find his soul mate! He's so dreamy but in the public eye he comes across as arrogant & a womanizer!

Renee is looking for one thing! A promotion! She's going on the show only for the TV exposure, so she thinks! What she doesn't realize is when the love bug bites no one is exempt!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

It was great watching their bond grow & get stronger with every mishap & stumble Renee makes! We get all the way to the end of the game & things turn south! I really would've pulled the hair out of the witch that caused the trouble!

I loved the ending! This is the 1st book of Brooke Williams I read & wont be the last!

***I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.***

I'll start off by saying that before I read this book, I was in a reading funk. I could not bring myself to read anything, despite the fact that my long list of books to read just keeps getting longer and longer. I didn't expect this book to bring me out of my funk. In fact, if I'm being honest, I expected to be bored by it, like I get bored watching those dating shows on TV.

But I was wrong. Not only did this book bring me out of that lag phase I was experiencing, but it gave me renewed will to read books.

Accept this Dandelion shows us a strong female protagonist that isn't afraid of showing who she is, and has a take it or leave it attitude. I liked that a lot because many romance books that I've read in the past feature protagonists that change a part of who they are to please their potential partner.

Was this story predictable at times? Yes. But that didn't stop me from reading it. Was it an enjoyable read? Certainly. However, it did feel a little rushed at times, and I wish it could have been a little more detailed and drawn out.

Overall, I liked the story and read it in two hours. It is a light, funny read and I award it 4 Platypires.

I am one of those millions of women who have found themselves in front of their t.v. on a Monday night watching the train wreck that is known as The Bachelor. I love it and I'm not afraid to say it. Actually I love a lot of reality t.v., but I won't bore you with a list of must-see-trainwrecks. Recently I discovered this great romantic comedy that indulges my reality watching side while giving me butterfly inducing romance that I love. Accept This Dandelion by Brooke Williams is a fun, cute romance that includes a hot bachelor, a cute girl and fun cast of supporting characters. I loved that Renee wasn't perfect, had a few quirks and usually found herself in funny situations. Ben was rich, handsome and a serial dater, but was genuinely looking to settle down and fall in love. I loved both characters from the beginning and enjoyed reading the story from both perspectives. The premise of the story has been done before, but the author kept the story fresh and fun. The angst is light, the drama a little over the top, but the ending is perfect. Steamyness is light and the perfect amount steam to let the romance shine through.

OMG, Accept This Dandelion is one of the sweetest book I have read.

The story starts with Renee auditioning to be on a television dating show. I loved Renee right from the beginning. She is asked what her favorite flower is, her answer is a dandelion. I loved that answer and her explanation why. When I read that part, I could help but to be brought back of memories of as a child running around the lawn picking dandelion flowers for my mom. Renee continues to surprise me throughout the book with her openness and no holding back attitude.

Renee gets on the show and the bachelor is Ben McConnell. He is the most eligible bachelor in town. Renee's originally motive for going on the show was to gt exposure so she could get the open position of morning radio show host at the radio station. Ben would really like to find love but doing the show will also help his reputation.

Once the show beginnings taping, Rene provides us with a lot of laugh. While the other girls fawn over Ben, Renee wipes off her makeup and shows him who she really is.

I really enjoyed reading this story. It's a definite one click.

I absofreakinlutely loved this book! I laughed, I cried, I had heart twinge moments....I fell in love. The whole story concept was fantastic and I loved the way it was written. I was laughing one minute, then crying the next.

I couldn't help but fall in love with Renee and Ben. I didn't want their story to end. It was so well written that I was sucked into their story from the first page and I didn't want it to end. This book had humor and heart ache, deception and passion, deceit and romance.

I so want to see more of these two. I would loved for their to have been an epilogue. Even better...lets have story with Eva now. Renee and Eva can become really good friends and that way Renee and Ben can play a part in the story and we can see how their story continues.

All in all this was a great book and I can not wait to read more from this author if they are as good as this one. This was a clean read with sweet romance. I am new to the writings of Brooke Williams and I am so glad that I found her.

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely!!
