✨ Buy it now, keep it on your bedside table, and let it be the voice that tells you to carry on, to look up, and to believe in better days.
This book has a nice gentle wistfulness about it - quite mindful, nature-centric, both soothing and emboldening at times, plus philosophical but not in an overly inaccessible way. It has a good mix of hum drum everyday type settings as well are more adventurous ones.
An enjoyable, engrossing read for poetry fans, I recommend this, yes. Just for clarity, I got a free copy via an Instagram giveaway but I give an unbiased review - I don't enjoy all forms of poetry but I did take to this title regardless.
I loved poetry as a teenager (and even wrote some -long since gone!) and haven’t really looked at any since so when I was approached to have a look and read and review this book of poems - I jumped at the chance.
This is a beautiful little book of poetry, that is really easy to dip in and out of when the times is right. The first thing I was drawn to was the artwork which is stunning. I was originally sent a pdf version via email and I sent it to my kindle but on seeing the artwork I knew I needed it in colour so then downloaded onto my fire and believe me seeing it in colour just makes it even better. I was also sent a paperback and I was gutted to see the artwork in black and white. It’s still stunning but I feel the colour just makes it stand out more.
The poems are beautiful, easy to read and digest and they just seemed to resonate with me. They really show the beauty of the world we live in and appreciating the little things that make life so perfect. It is a book that I know I will keep going back to, to reread poems like “Do it anyway” because they are relevant to everyone, and “Winter Walks” because that’s my favourite thing and coming home to the fire. Just beautiful 😍
Thank you @ngkauthor for my copies I’m really grateful for you sending them to me and I know this book will be one I treasure forever
I was fortunate enough to receive this copy this week thanks to the author; and I have spent this week flicking through and reading poems that catch my eye; I feel with poetry you don’t need to sit and read the whole book in order as it gives you the freedom to be a little more selective and jump back and forth within the pages!
One particular poem stuck with me titled Just As You Are…if you swipe to pick two you will see it. I think it’s wonderful how poets not only write what they are thinking and feeling but have a way of making it so their words can be personal to anyone who reads them.
If you haven’t got your copy yet then I urge you to grab a copy now and give them a read you may be surprised over what resounds with yourself.

This is a book of 42 modern poems. Some short, some longer. This is a book about the sea, the seasons, nature, stillness, love, loss, life. This is a book about the every day, the ordinary described in such a way it becomes extraordinary. This is a book from the heart. It got into my heart. I smiled, I cried, I appreciated the words. I felt them. This is a book that will stay close to me to read on a regular basis, over and over. This is a book that I absolutely loved - I loved all of the poems, particularly Winter Walk and One Of Those Days. It was When You Look Back that got me the most. This is a book that I recommend everyone buys, reads, talks about, shares.
one you'll want to pick up every time, giving yourself a bit of fresh air for your mind and heart.
Whether in the morning with a hot cup of coffee or at night with warm tea, this lovely book will give you a smile and words you'll want to read again and again.
There’s something sacred about early morning reading; the house still, the light soft, and the words just beginning to settle in. This poetry collection felt made for those quiet moments. It’s gentle and hopeful, with quiet reflections, finding beauty in the everyday. I’ve read a lot of collections like this , and while it occasionally nudged a little close to familiar territory, there’s real heart in these poems. Some pieces stopped me completely. Others felt like warm reminders of things I already knew but needed to hear again. Sometimes, something quiet like this is exactly what we need.
This is a book of beautifully written life-affirming poetry. I read it in one sitting but know I will be dipping back into this book for years to come. “When you look back” and “Morning Coffee” really spoke to me.
Really enjoyed the poems, read a couple each morning and most were very uplifting. Favourites were Just as you are and One of the Days . But I will read the poems again
