DNF.

At one point, MC decided to fake "out" some dude as gay to humliate them. It is an interesting one, because never in my mind would it cross me that outing someone would be a form of humliation for straight people.

Which basically told me all I need know about this author. No interest in proceeding further.

Interesting regression story about a villianous Lord's schol days

The MC is a villainous anti-hero who leaves dead bodies, explosions and mayhem behind him. He has alienated teachers, some of his student peers, a crime boss with high level local connections and a rival academy. He is however in the process of putting together a gang of minions who he is power leveling thru a combo of proprietary knowlegde and carving runes painfully into their flesh. I found it curious and interesting that though he could have had his way with a number of potential bed-mates, he used snark to deflect them, being focused on advancing as quickly as possible.

All told this is a pretty unique and interesting series.

I enjoyed the philosophy of the MC's thoughts about the hypocrisy of society, where "the rule of law" is subservant to the concept that "might makes right".

don’t read a lot of school or academy books, but this one is worthwhile.

A great storyline, an excellent MC although I wish he would soften his heart towards his roommate. I don’t particularly care if he’s ruthless towards other people, but his roommate is a wallflower underappreciated and under privileged, I kind of always like and want to see those characters succeed. I like the fact that he’s one step ahead of everybody else because of his regression and that he’s gaining power at a good clip. The storyline is excellent, and the additional characters are well done and well written. Eagerly awaiting the next book in the series, if this was on Patreon, I’d probably pay for it.

Ruthless MC

I am surprised how much I am enjoying this story. I don’t typically like ones with a dark MC. You can tell that he is slowly changing and becoming less like he was in his previous life.

I really enjoyed the MC’s magical progression. His powers utilizing his spell circle and reconstruct are interesting and creative.

The overall story is interesting as well. I really enjoyed the dungeon delve and how the author incorporated all his classmates on his team to give the story depth and nuance.

Really good

Ok, even though he’s supposed to be an evil person, I find myself sympathizing with Darren and hoping for his victory. He has suffered at the hands of a lot of people in his past life and it clearly drove him to extremes during that time. What will he be in this go round?

Conflict

The storyline has advanced well and the action has gotten quite good. We seem to have fleshed out the magic framework. Which is quite good. The martial framework is coming together and I have hopes for it. There's more to life than thews and adrenaline. Epilogue was good as well.

Beat my expectations.

To be honest, I was not looking forward to reading this book. A book about an evil overlord from a previous life didn't call out to me. I am glad I took the time to start reading. Full of action keeps you turning the pages. Looking forward to book 3.

Great Stuff

This story of an old evil mage who gets a do over was fantastic. This book ends as he just finished an inter scholastic competition dungeon with quite a few deaths and the other school blaming rogue teachers. Good Stuff

Interesting story but . .

While the story is interesting, it's in need of editing badly. The phrase several/couple/few dozen to explain time over and over again doesn't help lend a sense of urgency as that can mean anywhere from 24 minutes to an hour or more.

Spell Breaker, book two of the Arcane Academy series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). I enjoyed this high school adventures of a reincarnated evil lord, immensely. Can't wait to read more so I can watch Damin achieve world domination, one dungeon crawl at a time. Lots of fun.

Good

It is more engaging than the first book. The magic system as well as the adventure and places they explored were awesome. The last act was amazing as well as the power up.
Looking forward to more.

great book

Love the series, it’s not often that you get a villain as the main character. Plus he’s a hero love the plot so far. Can hardly wait for the next one!

The writing was very dry and scenes dragged on too slowly. It was getting very boring. DNF.

definitely an improvement over book one. mc got a bit softer and stopped being overly edgy. plot moved forward nicely and world building increased by a large margin. mc didn't immediately tell his secret to anyone and remained secretive, as long as he keeps doing this I'll enjoy the books. I'll be waiting for the next book.

Ok book

Too many people left alive always coming back to fight the mc. The school was useless the teachers were idiots and so were his sidekicks!!
