“Through His Touch” continues right where we left off in “Through His Eyes,” which I thought was a really good read. Unfortunately, I didn’t think this new installment was as good as the first one. While there was a romantic element in book 1, there was also an actual paranormal mystery plot that was truly engaging. I personally thought “Through His Touch” spent way too much time on Trudy and Levi’s relationship. A 90-10 split if I were to be honest. I couldn’t believe how much time was dedicated to their relationship. So much that at times I became bored with it. Yes, Levi is an alpha-male, but holy crap! The number of hang-ups this guys has was unbelievable. Trudy is way too good for him. I loved how she’d stand up for herself or at times put him straight. That being said, there were times I really wished Trudy would just leave his sorry ass. Life is too short and honestly, after reading this novel, she could do so much better. For an alpha-male the guy is a complete mess. He’s selfish and arrogant, even rude at times, talking down to her at times like she’s a dog. He thinks of himself first, never once thinking or taking into account Trudy’s feelings.
““Trudy, if this is going to work – if we are going to work, then we need to be with each other. I can’t go weeks without you. I know myself. I’ll either go stark raving mad or I’ll cheat on you.” Hearing him say that word – cheat — made her blood run cold and she actually shivered. He felt it, because he pulled her to him, hugging her close. “I don’t want to and I’ll hate myself for caving . . . but weeks and weeks without you, baby, I can’t do it. I just can’t.””
I’m sorry but he’ll cheat on her if he’s not with her for a few weeks? Heaven forbid her job takes her away. That’s right. Her job’s not as important as his is I guess. Oh, and I guess it’s okay for him to be away for long periods of time but not vice-versa. Am I the only one who thinks this is….what’s the word…..fucking ridiculous?! Who says this?! In book one I thought Levi was terrific, but book two has me changing my tune really quickly. As for the tiny little mystery story? Not only did I figure out who the killer was very early on, it was also quite evident. Yet we’re to believe the great psychic himself didn’t know right away. Puhlease!
There seems to be another installment which will be coming out very soon. And fuck me as I know I won’t be able to pass it up. Let’s just hope it’s not just about their relationship. I’ve always enjoyed novels of suspense and romance. But the hero this time around is a total ass.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
First Date: The story picks up right where Through His Eyes left off in Levi’s penthouse. Levi has himself a stalker and getting to see him on his own and comfortable in his own world was interesting. Of course, he misses Trudy. Trudy decides to surprise him for his birthday and flies to Atlanta. Things get hot, complicated, and sweet. The heat level throughout the novel is high and my nook sizzled.
Second Date: There are some interesting mystery threads..a stalker and a murder but these take a backseat to the romance and fleshing out the characters. Levi is complicated, and at times, his walls annoyed me. Things he said had me rolling my eyes and wanting to slap him in the back of the head. Thankfully, Trudy isn’t the least bit shy, and she gives it to him straight. The two work well together, he is the yin to her yang. Trudy meets former girlfriends, and we see growth in their relationship. Camp took the time to give us Levi’s backstory, and it helped make him endearing and allowed me to forgive some of his Neanderthal views.
Third date: All right, already, these two are a cute couple but I want more of the paranormal aspects, murder and mayhem. *we are teased throughout the book with these side stories but I am done with the appetizer and want my meal* Finally the visions, paranormal woo-woo and murder mysteries are front and center and this last section of the novel is strong, and gripping. The first two-thirds read more like a contemporary romance, but this last part gave me the same feels as Through His Eyes. *woot*
Title: Through His Touch Author: Deborah Camp Publisher: D.C. Series: A Mind's Eye Book 2 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: 5 Review:
"Through His Touch" by Deborah Camp
Book Description...
"Sexy, suspenseful #2 novel of the Mind's Eye Series by Deborah Camp. Psychic detectives Levi Wolfe and Trudy Tucker face an unknown foe who is determined to destroy everything beautiful in Levi's life -- including Trudy. Will Levi's love claim her or kill her?"
What I liked from this novel....
I loved this second continuation of the authors Mind's Eye series. For the two main characters ...this psychic pair...we are left wondering what will be going on with Trudy and Levi and in this novel "Through His Touch" we find out as they are placed in danger from a multiple of threats. Now, I don't want to say too much about that because I want you to pick up the good read to see for yourself how this author will bring it all out to the reader.
What I also enjoyed about this novel...
I loved how this author shows us the love that Trudy has for Levi and how their relationship grew. The readers will see it all in this heartfelt, romance, drama, terror, scary, emotional and most of a suspenseful read. Be ready for some scenes of these killers, stalkers and murders that are simply horrible. However, if you can hold on till the end there is even more...well ...you will have to read it and see for yourself how well this author brings it to the reader.
My overall impression...
If you like a good mystery with a good romance then you will like "Through His Touch" and by saying that I would also recommend to you as a good read.
Book 1 ends with an intruder in Levi's Atlanta apartment. What Levi finds is a crazy woman who thinks she is Trudy Tucker and has been following them since Key West. After her arrest, Levi is struggling to keep Trudy in Tulsa and away from the danger this stalker can be. But Trudy surprise Levi by arriving at his Atlanta office building on his birthday. The employees of Wolfe Enterprises are shocked and excited to meet Trudy Tucker; the one woman who has captured the boss' heart. As Trudy spends more time with Levi, Levi begins to open up about his past and the reason for the walls and "No Trespassing" signs he keeps throwing up. Trudy is determined to break down the walls and see the real Levi and make him understand he is a good person. Levi throws Trudy for a loop when he asks her to live with him. Trudy wasn't raised to live with a man without a ring, but her heart cannot tell him no. Suddenly, news breaks that a local weather woman, and former lover of Levi's, is found murdered and dumped in a cemetery. As the case grows cold, Levi struggles to keep Trudy safe and help find the murderer. Then a painful memory from Levi's past shows up at his apartment looking for help. With her appearance, and Trudy's disturbing vision, it becomes clear the murderer is after Levi. But why?
In Book 2, we see more and more of Levi's past and why he shuts everyone out. Even though he gets upset with Trudy's unending questions, she is slowly breaking down the barriers he has erected. As the story is told, we see Levi opening up about his painful past which only makes Trudy love him more. She is proving Levi's theories wrong, not everyone that loves him will abandon him. The story is filled with hot sex, but the story is filled with more emotion t
She seems to know just what I like, and I like Levi Wolfe!
Through His Touch is filled with stalkers, psycho’s, ex-lovers, and heart stopping “love” scenes that will make you blush:) I loved this book! It kept me flipping from page to page without wanting to stop! I just had to know if Levi can beat the demons who keep wanting to destroy the life he’s trying so hard to make with Trudy. From in his head to out his front door, everywhere he looks someone is trying to mess things up. He just can’t seem to catch a break.
What I really enjoyed was when Trudy finally breaks some of Levi’s walls and we get a sneak peek into his past. Boy, I can see why Levi doesn’t trust anyone, he had a pretty sad childhood. Well, I could keep rambling on about how much I liked Through His Touch or you could just read it yourself:) But if you haven’t read Through His Eyes, I would start with that one.
I can’t wait to read a book three, I’m hoping soon too:)
Thanks Deborah Camp for gifting me your book to help create the trailer! You surprised me yet again with a twisted story that you can’t solve until the very end.
Through His Touch is the second book in the Mind's Eye series. Trudy and Levi have decided to try a long distance relationship, but when Trudy shows up at Levi's apartment on his birthday, both are thrilled to be together again. Their happiness is short-lived however when a stalker claiming to be Trudy invades Levi's home and one of Levi's former lovers is killed. This book is more about Trudy and Levi's romance than it is about psychic powers or solving a mystery. It reminded me of Fifty Shades of Gray except without the kink. We do find out more about Levi's past which seems to get darker and darker with each revelation. While I do enjoy reading about Levi's past, I'm hoping the next book in the series has a little more psychic mystery in it as well as more of Trudy. Next up is Through His Heart.
If you've read the first book, THROUGH HIS EYES, you know it ended on a WTF cliffhanger that just came totally out of left field. Fortunately, the author resolves that cliffhanger in the first few pages here, and I was able to let out the breath I'd been holding since last February.
Levi Wolfe and Trudy Tucker are psychics who fell in love while working together on a serial murder case in the first book. Trudy has, not visions necessarily, but episodes where in her mind she is looking through the killer's eyes, seeing what he sees, and experiencing his emotions. Levi can channel the victim, seeing and experiencing the murder through her eyes.
The first book had quite a bit of action as they teamed up to catch the killer. In this follow up, there isn't as much of that. Levi is home in Atlanta, dealing with a stalker, catching up on his office work, dealing with his busy schedule, and missing Trudy, the first woman he's ever pledged himself to be faithful to. Trudy and her little dog Mouse have gone back to her home in Tulsa, where I'm not really sure what she gets up to, other than missing Levi.
In the first book, I connected with both Levi and Trudy quickly, and the author did a wonderful job of detailing their characters, making them realistic and taking us inside their minds. She continues that here, particularly with Levi. Learning to be in a relationship, to trust in love, to open himself up...it's a journey of self-discovery for him. There is a lot of angst in this book, and it's mostly coming from Levi. They don't stay apart for too long, and Trudy has her own insecurities of course, but she is more secure in her own feelings than Levi is with his. I definitely felt this story was much more Levi's than hers.
There is a new murder case for them to help solve, which leads to a very intense scene. And there's Levi's stalker to contend with as well. But more than that, the story is a very good character study of a man who knows he's broken and isn't sure if he's fixable. And I especially enjoyed some of the scenes with Gonzo, the head of Levi's security team, and with Wes, his cook/housekeeper, both of whom were interesting and charismatic in their own right.
And while the ending wasn't quite as cliffhangery as the first book, the words “The End” came rather abruptly, and I'm glad that the wait for the third book, due in January, isn't quite as long as the wait between books one and two was,* because I'm ready for book three. Now.
*Technically, the wait is about the same, as the first book was published in April, but I read an early advance copy graciously given to me by the author in February, so I had to wait an extra two months for this one.
This is the second installment in the Mind’s Eye series by Deborah Camp and there is sooooo much to like about this book. I would have to say that the best part of this book is the further development of Trudy and Levi’s relationship. Now if you read the first book
WARNING SPOILER COMING in 3..2..1..)
then you know that Trudy and Levi parted ways at the end of book 1 to get themselves situated with their lives and agreed to see each other again at a future date. Trudy went back to her subtle and simple home in Tulsa and Levi went back to his lavish pad and luxurious lifestyle in Atlanta.
(END SPOILER)
Well Trudy and Levi keep to their word and without much waiting we get to see them together again but under some not so nice circumstances. After surprising Levi in Atlanta both Trudy and Levi’s lives are placed in danger from multiple threats. Trudy and Levi are once again faced with a case that not only puts their relationship to the test but hits closer to home then anything before. In what can only be described as one heck of an emotional rollercoaster we see so many facets of Levi’s character and past that are not only admirable but utterly painful.
I loved the layers that peeled of off Levi in this book. We saw him play so many roles from the protector to the fighter and from the tortured emotionally barricaded man to this loving, all-consuming soul that would do anything to protect Trudy. We also see a lot more of Trudy’s resolve and persistence. She is determined to show Levi that he is capable of both receiving and giving love; no matter what it could cost her in the end and no matter how much it scares her. I love watching and reading about how these two fall deeper and deeper in love with each other, it’s emotional, scary and so heartfelt. I think this book gave us a better understanding of how different Levi and Trudy are but how much they need and understand each other.
AND let’s not forget the suspense factor in this book, it will definitely not disappoint. There are killers, stalkers and murders abound in this installment. The case in this book will keep you guessing and on your toes at every turn. There were some scenes that were gut-wrenching and made me cringe and some scenes that made my heart flutter in this novel. There is a good balance of drama, emotion, terror and romance in this story that will leave you happily satisfied. Be prepared though because folks there is another shock to your system at the end of this book and it’s a doozy. I hope there will be a third book to come as I will be the first in line to read it!!
"From the moment I looked into those bewitching green eyes of your, I was lost in you. Lost and Found." - Levi
In Through His Touch we meet up with what has become one of my favorite psychic pairs. This time though things are a bit different. When Levi gets home from Key West he immediately discovers that someone is in his home. When his stalker is finally removed and he is able to feel somewhat at home he begins to relax and realizes just how much he misses not having Trudy around.
Trudy finally arrives back home from Key West where she not only worked with Levi, but she found herself falling in love with him. As they finished off the job that they had there and headed back to where each called home, Trudy finds herself not only missing Levi, but knows that if she spends to much time away he will be tempted to stray to another. What Trudy does not know though is that Levi is dealing with a stalker who thinks that she is Trudy.
When I read the first book I was worried how well I would like it due to the fact that it was a suspense romance which was something that I had not read before. Not knowing whether I would like it or not, I started reading it with an open mind. With saying that, I am so glad that I did. Deborah Camp has away of writing so that you want to know what is going to happen next. You feel as if you are trying to place each crime into what leads will help to solve the case. Add into that the appeal of Levi and Trudy being psychic and it just makes the suspense level go up another notch.
Add in the suspense factor to that of a budding romance between her two main characters and she manages to have your attention held. Not only do you wander if or what will happen next, but we are held captive to how Trudy and Levi will use their individual talents to see what needs to be told. I enjoyed this book more so than the first because I had an idea of the way that it was written, but because of how Trudy and Levi's relationship grew. How when he saw that Trudy was in danger he had a very strong need and desire to protect her, and realized that he had stronger feelings than that of just wanting to be with her but that he actually loved her. This book also showed the "romance" side of millionaire playboy falls in love, wants to settle down, but sexcapades from his past seem to appear and through a wrench into his happily ever after.
I can say that if you like mystery and you like romance then Deborah Camp will not let you down, nor will she leave you hanging. I enjoyed reading this book tremendously. I hope you do to.
Deborah Camp has blown me away again! With this book you have everything you need for the perfect evening, just go ahead and curl up in a chair with a cup of your favorite. Book two, Through His Touch: Loving Levi, is immediately captivating and touching at the same time. The continuation of the tale of psychic’s Levi Wolfe and Trudy Tucker picks up right where the first book left off, Levi battling his demons and Trudy battling Levi. Within its pages is a psychic mystery to be solved, love to be found, wrongs to be righted and truths to be told. Those qualities when told with humor, grace and lots of steam add up to one very enjoyable read.
I love the way this author handles the love scenes, (which are hot and lusty), in a way that makes them an integral part of the story. So many authors seem to just try to fit a few paragraphs of a plot around their erotic scenes using the plot as more of a vehicle to place erotica in a book than as an important element of the love story. But not Deborah Camp. Without the love scenes the relationship of the couple would not be told nor understood. It is refreshing to see a book about a more real relationship, one where love is the basis. Where sex is good and present but not the only thing a couple has going for them. Where the push and pull of the male female relationship shows a true giving and receiving of care and love, not just some perfect, ideal, unrealistic, sexual relationship. The fact that the author gave us just enough of a taste of the evil they faced and didn’t force us to go all the way down the rabbit hole into the terror realm was also greatly appreciated and shows a great deal of finesse. I highly recommend this series.
*a complimentary copy was given in exchange for an honest review*
I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.
Book starts just before the ending of book 1, Through His Eyes, which helps to lead you gently back into the story. Be prepared though, as that's probably the most gentle thing about this book. It is full of Levi and Trudy and the problems their relationship faces, most of which are caused by Levi to be fair! Book was a Paranormal Romantic Suspense. This book I would label as Romantic Suspense with a bit of Paranormal thrown in. There is far less emphasis on the abilities of Levi and Trudy in this one than the first which I found to be slightly disappointing as I loved reading about them. HOWEVER, that said, this is still a fantastic story that is full of stalkers, murderers, history, manipulators.
Levi and Trudy work hard in this book to overcome some of the difficulties and obstacles placed in their way. The ending, whilst not as shocking as the end of the first one, will still leave you wanting to know more straight away. Personally, I can't wait to read book 3 as soon as it is available. Levi is working to deal with his past and Trudy is likewise working at it. She shows her backbone in this book which I loved. One of my favourite quotes is when she tells Levi to watch his tone as they left the dog back at the penthouse! Classic!
I have deliberately kept this review as generic as possible because I know that Debbie will kill me if I give away any spoilers. So let me just finish by saying that I highly recommend this book and enjoyed it as much as the first, albeit in a slightly different manner.
Remember the Holy Moly, Batman! cliff hanger from book one of this series, Through His Eyes? Deborah Camp has done it again. The love story is awesome, and the twists, turns, and tension are to die for – almost literally – for the readers, and for the characters. Levi and Trudy know they mean a lot to each other. They know they’ve got something special, something neither of them sought, or even hoped for. Now they have to figure out what to do about it, although they hardly get the chance. Stalkers? Unhinged fans? Something else? Who is after them, where will the danger show up next, and how many will have to die before they can figure out who, what, and where the threat is coming from? Tension filled, Ms. Camp does not disappoint. The cliff hanger from book one is unraveled, but wait, there’s another lurking at the end of this novel, too….and thank goodness, the third book in the series is just around the corner, promised for January 2015!! Very well done.
OMG, that cliffhanger from Through His Eyes was killer! I was DYING to find out WTF was going on in Levi's world! I had speculations and predictions, but I was all wrong. Ms. Camp continues to surprise me with her plotting abilities and imaginative mind. And her writing gets better with each book!
I just love this series! I can't get enough of Levi and Trudy and their psychic world. The story is captivating and original, with twists, turns, and steamy scenes that will keep you flipping pages, incapable of putting it down. Levi is the sexy hero you want to hate (but can't!), and Trudy is the good girl you love seeing Levi turn bad. The suspense of their psychic work just adds that much more intrigue. Definitely on my recommended reads list if you enjoy the paranormal.
I love paranormal romance. It puts a interesting twist on the typical girl meet boy story. Trudy and Levi are both psychics. From the moment they meet sparks fly. I lived watching their relationship grow over the two books. I enjoyed the mystery especially in the first book. I do have to admit that I hated the cliff hangers at the end of each book. Although it does make me wanna read the next book. I would recommend this series to a friend.
Trudy sure needs her wits about her if she's going to be in Levi's life. From the vipers who used to date Levi and stalkers who want to date him to the killer who wants him dead she's got her work cut out for her. Levi is in some big trouble. Its like every one wants a piece of him. One thing after another. On top of it he has to deal with his trauma and start to heal with Trudy's help.
Through His Touch #2 - This book picks up where Through His Eyes ended. Again, we're dealing with relationship between the main characters. I was hoping this mess ended with Eyes, but there's no time gap, so it's right back in your face. I was hoping to get more from this story, but I quickly became bored again with both of the characters and started skimming again. A lot of the dialog was ridiculous and a big turn off. I just couldn't careless about these two and their problems. He can't be trusted and admits it.
I ask the author to review her books when I saw her fifth book in the series was available as an ARC; I forgot I had read and dislike Eyes. My apologies to Ms. Camp for this error. I tried to read this book on its own merits, but it mirrored Eyes too much. Oh, get this, the killer is caught, which was easily figured out from reading the story, but BoyWonder didn't figure it out as quickly as the reader; not consistent with his talents. Again, I didn't care for the vulgar language or the boring sex. 3*
Through His Eyes #1 - This is my first book by this author. Well written, but once the explicit sex started the story went down hill from there. It was mostly sex and the sexual attraction between the two main characters and their pathetic arguments over anything or nothing. Their work wasn't mentioned much, but they were continuously arguing or angry, on top of all the sex. Boring!
I didn't care too much for the vulgar language. I skimmed, from about 25 percent on, trying to find bits and pieces of their work to catch the killer. The killer is found but the story continues into another book, which I have zero interest in reading; this one was punishment enough. I promised to review it, although I don't remember how I got this book anymore. I wished I knew what I was getting into before I volunteered. 2*
I loved the first installment of this series. It kept me engaged the entire book.
This second book really was a loss for me, which is so hard to say. It makes me actually pout/grimace.
The things I noticed in this book were that Trudy became almost a pushover. There are moments where she does stand up for herself but then it's almost just brushed under the rug every time it happens. She became almost too sensitive instead of her strong personality that made me love book 1.
Levi: absolutely could not stand him in this book. At least in book 1 you know he's a ladies man and has a ego the size of a hot air balloon. But this book made me despise him. First, the fact that he had to meet all of his "regulars" in person to tell them he will no longer sleep with them, AND not tell Trudy, was infuriating. When he met with Sissy, that was cheating. He allowed it to happen for a brief amount of time and was hot and bothered by it, whether or not he was attracted to Trudy. He PUT himself in those situations BECAUSE he met with them face to face. The fact he had no decency to mention it to Trudy, then see her and be surprised, then use her body immediately, repulsive. His remarks about how if he can't see her for a certain amount of time could lead him to cheating on her....Trudy, get back to Tulsa. Also, he asked her to move in with HIM. So when he's pissed off and has a fight with her but just wants to stop talking about things, he uses sex as a fix-all with her.
I will still read book 3 because I will finish out the entire series, but this book focused so much on their relationship and sex and not enough on a psychic type book, made me really disappointed.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This second book in the series is even better than the first. Levi and trust's relationship develops and the mystery begins as someonekills ca woman Levi knows. These characters are really developing well as the story progresses. It's another great read by Deborah Camp, I can't wait for the next book. If you like books about psychics and enjoy a good story that will keep you reading until the end, this is the book for you, I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest leaving an honest review
I felt a kinship for Deborah Camp's complex characters and I was not disappointed reading the second installment of "Mind's Eye" series. "Through his touch" continues Levi and Trudy's story and I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy mysteries, suspense and contemporary romance novels filled with unexpected turns of events and hero and heroines you will root for. I highly enjoyed it and hope others will find it as hard to put down as I did! Thank you Deborah Camp, I love this series so far.
This second book in the Mind's Eye series picks up where the last one left off. There isn't as much edge of your seat action in this one, but there's plenty of suspense as Levi deals with a stalker and Trudy attempts to help him with his past issues. Trudy and Levi are such great characters and the more I read, the more I want to see them together. Overall, this one is a great addition to the series with the perfect blend of romance, tension, and suspense.
Perhaps I missed something, coming in at volume two but this book was not as advertised. For almost the first half, it was merely a poor girl attempting to build relationship with controlling rich man who openly states he doubts he can be faithful. Nothing suggesting psychic ability happens. I did not complete it, skipping to the last couple pages which contained the only action in the book.
Deborah Camp has done it again with the 2nd book in the Mind’s Eye series Through His Touch. She gives a sexy suspenseful thriller that still has me craving more. And to me each book has just gotten better.
Once again we follow Trudy and Levi on another mystery, but this time everything hits closer to home for them. While leaving from their first successful case together as a couple Trudy and Levi and trying to find common ground to build a relationship with his demanding schedule and her need to build her career as a psychic. But as soon as Levi gets home, he comes face to face with a woman who is having a psychotic break and thinks that she is Trudy. The main concern for Levi is his need to keep Trudy safe, because it seems that every time he turns around there is some new threat to their relationship with ex-lovers or now a new killer. But his main focus is Trudy. He wants to keep her safe, but also be the man that she deserves.
Trudy is determined to make her relationship work with Levi. She knows that there are things in his past that prevents him from giving her his whole heart, but she knows he is working on that. But at every turn their relationship is being tested, but true to her word she is not going to give up on anything.
But the biggest threat to Trudy and Levi comes in the form of a killer that is now after them. Can their budding relationship survive everything that is working against them or will they fall prey to a killer?
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian I dig Good Books.
This book follows on from book one, Through His Eyes, and you really do need to read that one first.
Levi returns home to find someone in his apartment. Said someone should not be there and is removed by force. She turns stalker and nasty towards Levi and Trudy. But someone else is out to get Levi, and Trudy's life is at risk.
Full of suspense, romance and danger. Trudy's power takes centre stage here. She is seeing things through the eyes of a murderer, much as she did in the first book, but it takes her w while to figure that out, since it mostly happens through her dreams.
I loved book one, and gave it 5 stars. But here, there was something missing and I can't quite figure out what that was. It has the passion between Levi and Trudy, the drama, the thriller aspect too. I *think* its the lack of the paranormal aspects, Levi and Trudy's power. This power makes them who they are, and yes, Trudy does have her moments, but they are few and far between.
Still, a good read, which leads nicely into book three, in a similar manner to book one leads into two, just not in such a throw-your-kindle-at-the-wall way!
4 stars
**same worded review will appear on Goodreads, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com**
This is the second book in the Mind’s Eye series. They do need to be read in order. It is a continuation from Through His Eyes. It picks up where Through His Eyes ends. I had my ideas about the last books ending. And I was kinda right, for the most part. This is another enjoyable read and I will be starting the next book as soon as I can.
Levi and Trudy are trying this whole relationship thing. Being long distance is rough, for both of them, but especially hard for Levi. He is a man-whore, or was a man-whore. He is trying to stay faithful to Trudy. I had my doubts at first if he could or not.
He is starting to open up, little by little, to Trudy. Most of the time, he is forced to tell her because something happened.
Not only are they starting this relationship, they have to deal with a stalker and a murderer also.
The murderer hates Levi, this is very personal.
Levi grows a lot in this book. I can completely understand why he has the issues that he does have. Especially after reading what he has gone through.
“You, Trudy Tucker, blew through me like a Tulsa twister and obliterated my organized, satisfying existence.”
I love how Trudy sees into him and doesn’t let him keep hiding.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in the series, and while you do get perspectives from both Trudy and Levi, overall it felt more like the story was from Levi's perspective, which was a good thing for me. In this story we learn more about Levi's background and see him come to understand and deal with what it means to be in a relationship. I like seeing Levi and Trudy work together, but there really wasn't a lot of that in this story. There is some, but overall this book is about the two of them figuring out how to mesh their lives together.
Book 2 did not disappoint. This story reveals more of Levi's secrets. He starts to trust Trudy more. Trudy surprises Levi for his birthday. Woman that Levi had past relations with start to turn up dead. Trudy has visions that give them their lead. The more I read, the more I respect Trust's character. She is a strong woman that doesn't like to take no for an answer. The only downside that I have discovered is some editing errors and when a story flows like this one, it is easily overlooked. I am waiting for the weekend for Book 3.
Book two had lots of suspense and a stalker after Levi and Trudy. The author does a wonderful job of giving glimpses of Levi's background throughout the story. I am loving this series.
