Driving up Highway 50 through Nevada, said to be the loneliest road in America, sure would make a body nervous. Unless, of course, you’re Agnes Barton, who welcomes the challenge and the chance to check out a real ghost town. But before she even arrives in Silver, Nevada, a mystery has unfolded in the form of a lost little girl, Rebecca, who has become separated from her family who are searching for the elusive Leister’s gold. The real kicker is that Agnes saw it all in a dream, but when they arrive at the Goldberg Hotel & Saloon, she realizes so many things about her dream are real, like the details of the inside of the hotel. It isn’t long before she learns that the hotel is haunted by various spirits from the past, further making for an interesting vacation. Agnes is determined to find the missing family, insisting that it simply wasn’t just a dream as she learns that a family with a young daughter had indeed disappeared in the middle of the night just before they had arrived. Will Agnes and Eleanor find the missing family before they perish from the elements, or will the knife-wielding spirit called “The Cutter,” shorten their chances?

When Madison Johns began writing at the age of forty-four, she never imagined she'd make it onto the USA Today best-selling books list with her first cozy mystery, Armed and Outrageous, as an independent author. Sure, this book is an Amazon bestseller, but USA Today?

Although sleep-deprived from working third shift, she knew if she used what she had learned while caring for senior citizens to good use, it would result in something quite unique. The Agnes Barton Senior Sleuths mystery series has forever changed Madison's life, with each of the books making it onto the Amazon bestseller's list for cozy mystery and humor.

Madison is a member of Sisters In Crime. Madison is now able to do what she loves best and work from home as a full-time writer. She has two children, a black lab, and a hilarious Jackson Chameleon to keep her company while she churns out more Agnes Barton stories with a few others brewing in the pot.

I enjoyed this book as much as the last one. Ms. Johns has a way of bringing her characters alive for me; also of putting me in the story. While I'm reading, I feel as if I'm right there seeing and doing everything they are, (but with inside, or extra information). Please keep up the good work and can't wait for the next book in the series.

Having read the first novel in the series, this one was a little easier to follow. Our aged detectives take a vacation from their local mysteries in the Wild West. Mystery follows them, of course, since they make reservations in a ghost town. As they mingle with the locals, they find mysteries spanning over a century and more than one body. Will Agnes’s visions and spectral friends save them from danger? Will they find a missing family? Why are there so many spirits in one hotel? Once more, I felt like the author got to the end and wanted to tie up loose ends. Her conclusion seemed a little abrupt, but it was still an amusing read.

GHOSTLY HIJINKS
We meet Caroline who is now seen by both of them, she is not as transparent as most ghosts. Looking at brochures for a vacation. The one of Ghost Towns in the Old West, is Caroline vote, do we wonder why.
Mr Wilson will be going also, he needs a break from his tuna casserole
Sheriff comes and they tell him of vacation plans. And no they don’t need him to help with any of the arrangements. Last time he did it was in a senior home. The antics are delightful in this story. Caroline is bringing someone home, who is this ghost. Funny and enjoyable to read about their vacation.

Literally a boring book, without much of suspense or twists.

There were review mistakes too.

Both the grannys are so much worried about their BF, and whenever they meet up, they would worry that the BF would run off (they were also grandpas). It would've sounded funny, had it been mentioned once, but throughout the book, this is the most prominent thing.

This came as a free book, otherwise, I would've regretted more..

The senior sleuths go to a ghost town where tourists and locals alike are looking for gold bars. Families go missing. Agnes seems to have developed another skill, dreaming presciently. In her dream, she sees the 5-year-old daughter of the family most recently gone missing.
For me, too much time is spent on Agnes' exploring her feelings for her fiance Andrew.

I love these two old birds! The way they carry on is so close to the way I act with one of my oldest and dearest friends. I just hope when we are their age we have their spunk!! I'll even take the ghost if that means we can have the fun they do! I can't wait for the next adventure!

For some reason I find the books in this series to be a little hard to get into. The mysteries are well written but I just find it kind of hard to care.
