Fun for fans of the series, but otherwise somewhat unremarkable.

This is the combined collection of Hank's Early Years on the station and Dr. Devolva life before he reached that same station (For more details read the blurb). The shorts were funny and provided left and right some funny pieces of information on the characters from the first novel.

In short: this for fans who like the first novel, but wanted just little more background information that they had.

A collection of short stories that predate the Hard Luck Hank series. Many of the stories are entertaining, even more so if you have read the series and recognize those providing background for events in those later books.

Fun quick read.

Don't start with this book. It is good for backstory and to fill in some details, but as a book it's only OK. The hard luck hank series as a whole is amazing though! Get to this book when you run out of the regular series.

Really fun seeing some of these Hank and Delovoa backstories. It did seem that part of Delovoa's backstory felt like it didn't fully mesh with how things were explained in the first few Hank novels though, especially with ZR3 and Jyonal.
