Daniel Steven Peña Sr. (born August 10, 1945) is an American businessman.

Peña is Mexican American and was raised in East Los Angeles, California. His family moved to Encino when he was 10 years old. In 1971, he graduated from San Fernando Valley State College School of Business Administration and Economics[5] with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Peña's mother was from Mexico and is from both Austrian and Spanish descent. His father, who was from New Mexico, was one of the first Mexican American detectives in the Los Angeles Police Department and later worked in a secret CIA unit where he oversaw an investigation into the death of Robert F. Kennedy.

Peña began his career as a financial analyst on Wall Street. He went on to become president of Great Western Resources, Inc., a Houston-based oil company listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1984. In a move backed by shareholders, Peña was ousted as president of the company in 1992 and subsequently awarded $3.3 million by an American jury, after suing the company over his dismissal.

In 1984, Peña bought Guthrie Castle in Angus, Scotland, where he lives and from which he has operated several businesses.

In 2017, the castle and estate manager employed by Peña at Guthrie Castle was found to have committed fraud by double or triple booking wedding facilities and paying the higher charges into their own account. Peña said he forgave the employee and covered the £130,000 stolen from clients.

Peña refers to himself as the "trillion-dollar man." He works as a motivational speaker and is known for his brash persona.

Politics
Peña ran as an independent candidate in the 2024 UK general election in the Angus and Perthshire Glens constituency, running under the slogan, "Make Angus Great Again". He polled just 733 votes (1.5 percent) of the votes cast, coming sixth out of six candidates. The seat was won by the Scottish National Party candidate.

Have you ever wondered what the giants are doing in business?
Have any of the self made business leaders have shared what they really did to achieve greatness?
Did you notice that 99% of the self help books we read are nothing but a means for the author to get rich without any real knowledge of done something great in business?

I say most of the books and seminars out there are nothing but sh**

If you want to know how to get there big.... Read this.

The book is just mind blowing! I read it and took a lot of notes. Dan is a tough guy, but gives a lot of wisdom (which is not conventional!). I enjoyed reading every single page. I have a lot of learn from the book. Highly recommended for everybody who wants to make a quantum leap!

Warning to those who are looking for a politically correct feel good business book that suggests you can achieve financial Independence via a side hustle - do not read this book. Dan Peña is an unapologetic alpha male and hardened business juggernaut that shares his proven and repeated recipe for success via a “quantum leap”. Dan outlines a quantum leap as going from zero to an operating and profitable business in a very short timeframe by buying businesses with other people’s money. With a glut of baby boomers retiring and an increasing number of snowflakes (Dan’s words) entering the business world, there is an increasing number of opportunities to take a quantum leap. Dan also outlines the personal sacrifice needed to take a quantum leap. This book flipped many concepts I had for the next phase of my life on their head. The book provides detailed and actionable advice for those who are willing to make a quantum leap. Note: I listened to Dan read this book with his author’s notes which is a very unique experience (via YouTube). Highly recommended.

The book is divided mainly into 3 parts: You, your team and how to further expand your portfolio of companies.

I do not personally like some chapters such as those telling or teaching us to borrow from banks or financial institutions although there is deeper reason behind those moves. I personally think 'buying a company' or 'borrowing money from bank' isn't the hardest thing in the world but the author keeps talking about that. The harder thing is probably how to manage and quantum leap your profits or to sell your company at a much higher price and these are not really covered.

The book is around 4 stars but I will give it a 5 because of Dan's intensity.

Best self-Improvement book I've ever read.Dan knows how to get what he wants and wants everyone to get theirs.Truly remarkable wisdom and lots and lots of practical information.
I skipped the most parts about how to make a company work or business related parts because I read it to get into the mentality of a High Performer and it was still really amazing. You can feel Dan's enthusiasm through the book.Definitely a must read for individuals who want the most from life.

This work offers a framework and technique for conducting leveraged buyouts.

I liked that fact that the author has actually done leveraged buyouts before, so is a credible source of information. His earlier career was a true adventure story.

The book could have been improved with more attention to the order of the content. It wasn't presented in the chronology of execution, so jumped around a little. Further, the author's success was largely due to the 25% float of his company, a process beyond the scope of this book.

3 stars.

Your First 100 Million by Dan S. Peña

A powerful book that is partially a business autobiography merged with a tough-love style of personal development material and no nonsense straight to the point advice about building credibility, reputation, and starting a business solely based on superior intelligence and extreme force of character and self-belief. The latter parts of the book explain the power of leveraging character, reputation, relationships, knowledge, hiring a dream-team of over-achieving A-players, other people’s perceptions of your business, other-people’s-money financing, going public with an IPO, and acquisition of businesses to induce exponential business growth that will eventually generate hundreds of millions of dollars in personal wealth.

I’ve read a descent amount of books and I must say this book is on my personal top 10 list. It is #10 because unless you were raised in an entrepreneurial spirit filled family or read books like Think and Grow Rich & Rich Dad Poor Dad you’d have to shift your consciousness to appreciate & comprehend the value of this book. Dan talks about the mindset to become a high performance individual as well as provide actual steps to take to raise capital and become wealthy. I highly recommend this book if you’re ready to go big and become a serious entrepreneur!

Although outdated for more modern times the philosophy and methodology of Dan Pena is unmatched. This books is the most essential reading for anyone looking to build generational wealth just supplement it with more modern acquisition entrepreneur books/authorities.

I made contact with a probable member of the star team (this book is about taking action). There are instructions on getting things done step by step, letters/email formats to send out. You have to get going and add value to this world as soon as possible starting today.
