At any one time, over one hundred million people in the world are suffering from depression, and Christians are not immune from its effects. This is a practical Christian response to depression which, without using medical jargon, offers a step by step guide to coping.
This is now the third time that I have read this wee book since 2011, and m,y original comments below still stand, with this additional comment...the more I read Jim Winter's book the more I understand and learn!
Truly 5-star and very highly recommended!
Original Review. An excellent book, written from a Biblical and Christian perspective on dealing with depression. the author by profession is medically trained and by vocation is involved in pastoral work ... the best of both disciplines.
Whether or not one is depressed, this is excellent food for the soul!
I found much to like in this book. There were a number of times where I found myself nodding along as I read the book, and saying, "That's exactly how I feel!" Most importantly, it speaks specifically to the Christian who struggles with depression, and the special burden that they feel to be 'joyful', even when they feel otherwise. I was helped by this book. I'll definitely be re-reading it soon.
