Rate this book
Book 5 in the compelling Lunation Series, where readers can choose their own path through the story. The Boy and his companions discover they must now confront a greater evil that has lain dormant under their noses the whole time – Marama's servants are an unwitting cover for an ancient curse, but Marama refuses to believe them. They must combat this terror without the help of the powerful queen, but it's an ancient power that seems to be beyond their abilities – they must seek out the Cloud Collectors for help. But will the ancient custodians of the land help or hinder their cause, and will they survive the encounter? Branguin finds love, but his unwitting interferance with an age-old ritual threatens to endanger the woman he holds dear.

I am an Australian writer with a new five-book series recently released through HarperVoyager Impulse. I love all speculative fiction and I only hope that, in the fullness of time, my own fantasy series is deemed a worthy addition to this wonderful genre!
The Lunation Series is about the adventure of a boy and his servant, bound on a quest they do not truly understand. The trail leads them to the windswept ruins of a lonely castle, where they must confront the demons of the past to solve a mystery: who was the woman in the moon, why was she trapped there, and why must she be freed? It takes the first two books, Lunation and Earthshine, to resolve these questions, but in the process, even deeper questions are revealed. The final two books, Maraluna and Cloudstalker, are about the unmasking of an ancient terror that undermines everything the characters believe in and indeed their very understanding of the world they exist in. The third book, Lunelocked, is a deeper exploration of how Marama came to be trapped in the moon in the first place.
