Wow! What a debut novel! Unputdownable, I was hooked from the start. I didn’t want the story to end. I still have so many questions: What happens next for and Isla, Sophie and Lola are they finally safe and enjoying the life they deserve?

An empowering novel that highlights the strength and determination required to over come domestic abuse in all its forms. What lies behind a smile and the facade of a ‘perfect life’ - Perfectly Woven Lies!

I can’t wait for the next book from this inspiring writer.

Beautifully written, deeply unsettling—and utterly unmissable.

From the first page of Perfectly Woven Lies, I was hooked. Isla’s quiet strength and the slow unravelling of her world made for a read that was as heartbreaking as it was empowering. The tension builds like a whisper, until suddenly—boom—you’re holding your breath and racing toward an ending that changes everything.
If you’re a fan of Karin Slaughter’s grit, Lisa Jewell’s tangled truths, or B.A. Paris’s psychological precision, this debut delivers in every way. I’ll be thinking about this one for a long time.

A must read, captivating with a strong message. Exciting and alarming, I had to read it to the end in one go. Not the ending I expected.

Book Club Review: Perfectly Woven Lies
We devoured this book—and we’re still reeling!

From the very first page, Perfectly Woven Lies had us hooked. Getting inside James’s head was a masterclass in psychological tension: scary, terrifying, and utterly brilliant. His manipulations left us breathless, flipping pages late into the night, desperate to see how far he’d go—and whether Isla would survive it.

And Isla. Oh, Isla. We rooted for her with every twist and turn. Her resilience, her quiet strength, the way she began to reclaim her voice—it was impossible not to cheer her on. She’s the kind of protagonist who lingers long after you finish the final page!

This is story that doesn’t just entertain—it unsettles, provokes, and lingers. The author has a rare gift for weaving suspense with emotional depth, and we’re already impatient for what comes next!

An unforgettable debut. One to watch? Absolutely. One to follow obsessively? Without a doubt.

An Absolute Masterpiece – Best Book I’ve Ever Read!

Perfectly Woven Lies isn’t just a book—it’s an experience. From the very first page, I was completely swept away. The characters are so vividly drawn, so achingly real, that I felt like I knew them personally. Their secrets, their pain, their resilience—it all stayed with me long after I turned the final page.

The Scottish setting is nothing short of breathtaking. Every scene is steeped in atmosphere, from misty hills to quiet lochs, painted with such precision and beauty that I could almost feel the wind on my face. It’s on par with Rankin in its sense of place—but with a raw emotional depth that’s entirely its own.

This is storytelling at its finest: layered, suspenseful, and deeply human. Perfectly Woven Lies deserves a place on every must-read list. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I was completely drawn in. Isla’s quiet resilience and the gradual unraveling of her life made this story both heartbreaking and deeply empowering. The tension creeps in subtly, then suddenly explodes you’re holding your breath as everything races toward a powerful, game changing ending.
If you enjoy the grit of Karin Slaughter, the layered mysteries of Lisa Jewell, or B.A. Paris’s psychological depth, this debut won’t disappoint. It’s one of those stories that lingers long after the final page.

This is a fantastic debut novel. I couldn't put it down from the moment I started. The characters are so well written. You feel every moment for Isla and long for her to find an escape. The book is set in the beautiful Scottish Borders and so includes mentions of local towns and accurately captures the insiduous cliques that unfortunately exist in some social circles in this area. This author is definitely one to watch.

Absolutely loved this book! Refreshing look at domestic thrillers. Chillingly accurate. We might not want to know what goes on behind closed doors but M C Fox has created a fantastic portrayal of what we might normally avoid in reality. Debut author definitely one to watch. I can see why people are raving about this. I couldn’t put it down. Finished in 2 days. Fast pace page turner. I can see a fantastic future ahead for this author and predict a best seller. I enjoyed the scene setting, pace and suspense of this book. The moments of escapism for the main character are welcome for the reader too as the desperation of the situation is tangible. One character could easily have been one dimensional (and understandably too) but the author did not shy away from developing them which leads to an emotional but powerful reading experience.
