Meet Mr. Rhee! The cryptic and tortured main character of TALES OF MR. RHEE and his story that unfolds in this collection of thirteen chilling short pulp-noir horror-infused stories.
Dirk Manning is best known as the writer/creator of comic series such as TALES OF MR. RHEE (Devil’s Due Publishing) and NIGHTMARE WORLD (Image Comics/Shadowline).
Don't let Dirk’s penchant for writing horror comics and his tongue-in-cheek publicity photo with the black hat and scarf fool you, as he’s a very amicable and approachable guy both online and at the numerous convention appearances and book signings he attends every year.
Dirk's signing and convention schedule is regularly updated at www.DirkManning.com and when he's not on the road (or writing) he can be found interacting with readers and friends at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. Cthulhu is his homeboy.
This past weekend I picked up a copy of this first volume of Mr. Rhee after meeting Dirk Manning at a local comic convention. From page one to the very last page, I was blown away with each chapter, the humor was laugh-out-loud funny.
The pages just flew by and soon hours had passed, and I didn’t even know it. Now I find myself thinking of Mr.Rhee often. What will come next? I must know now.
If you are a reluctant person who maybe just enjoys general fiction or something along those lines, I strongly suggest you pick this one, you won’t be sorry.
Tales of Mr. Rhee is one of the stories that you have kinda seen before but nothing quite like it at the same time. The micro stories give a nice quick pacing, and intrigue the whole time. It was my first read of Dirk's but was definitely not my last. If you like some wit mixed with your violence and touches of Lovecraft spun throughout this book is for you.
