I don't normally read much horror type stuff, but I've read some of Dale Elster's stuff in the past and enjoyed it, so I picked this one up.
All of the short stories were pretty good, but a few stood out.

Mummified Monk had an almost steampunk feel to it and was a great story.

The Devil Ordered an Omelet felt like an old dime store detective novel and I found myself reading it in a humphrey Bogart voice, even though the protagonist was closer to a rastafarian.
Lastly Gillian, was a great creepfest with a little heroin psychedelia thrown in for good measure.

If you have a hankerin for horror stories, this anthology will fill your plate to the rim with ghouls and gore.

Delightfully creepy.

A superb collection of well-written tales of the macabre. The artwork is interesting, too. I look forward to these anthologies every year, and am thankful to the wonderful folks over at the NoSleep Podcast (my favorite!) for the recommendation. Thanks for the chills! Bravo!

I received a proofreader copy of the book a few days before release from one of the editors.

Even though I read through it with the purpose of attempting to catch any errors (of which I found none), I quickly lost myself in the stories themselves, forgetting my original purpose in reading through it. I was absorbed in each and every story and I couldn't help but feel disappointed when I finished one story because I wanted all of them to continue! Luckily, there was another tale that filled the dark hole the previous one left in my soul until I sadly finished the book. Each story is unique and offers a terrifying variety of subjects across the spectrum of the horror genre. Daylight Dims Vol. 2 left me hungry for more and luckily I never read Daylight Dim Vol. 1 so my desire for more will be sated until I finish that one and begin to pester the editors about releasing Vol. 3.

This was probably one of the most entertaining collection of horror stories I've ever read. And I don't say this to suck up or to stroke any tail feathers. I was happy to have the opportunity to read through this before release and I implore anyone on the fence about picking up this up to do themselves a favor and take the plunge into the abyss. You will not be disappointed.
