Savage is book #3 in the Healer series. Before reading Savage it is strongly recommended that you read Healer and Hybrid first.

A savage is barbaric.

It attacks without restraint or pity.

It is fierce, merciless, and brutal.

Aldo has let that part of herself take over, drive her actions. I thought saving her from Bridge was my biggest problem.

I was wrong.

Something happened while she was missing. And it has altered her in a way that she is almost unrecognizable.

But she won’t tell me anything.

Instead, I’m forced to watch the young and naïve woman I’ve fallen in love with transition into everything I knew she could be; strong, fearless, and unstoppable. The problem is, she’s cut off her humanity, and coupled with those things, she’s a loose cannon.

She’s a savage.

My name is Daniel O’Sullivan and I’m in love with a broken woman. I will bring her back and remind her of who she really is no matter what it takes.

Even if it kills me.

5 painful decision stars

uf, after everything they went through, the most painful decision ended the story...BUt it left a window open...so at least there's some comfort in that!

anyway, the story continues right after the cliffy in the second book...
It's told from a dual POV - Daniel's and Aldo's

Aldo is in grave danger and Daniel is doing everything in his power to get to her in time...

Things don't look good for Aldo, but she somehow finds a way to endure to hell she found herself in...even if the scaring thought lingers that after that she won't be the same - she'll be savage

Daniel is set on fire...his actions are more than alpha entrails and he sets events in motion that can only mean one thing...

In that hell, Aldo is kept captive, she finds a somewhat shocking news that both thrills her and scares her...

another spieces appears and more betrayls and deceits play out...putting Aldo at more risk...BUT with her new revelation she finally reings her powers and shows her full potential...

Daniel finds her and just when they think that it's a start for a new beginning...more danger lurks, more gravely serious decisions and choices must be made that envolves not only their lives but the lives of their loved ones as well...on the brick of war, more enemies and more uncertainties lingers above them BUT they find a way...together

and then just when you are settled in this closure, the painful decision must be made by Daniel and Aldo and that decision will set the path for another journey...another important life to follow, nurture, protect and keep safe until they all unite again...

these were the first books that B.N. Toler wrote and honestly from the book 1 i could recognize her writing style as i have come to know and love from Where one goes and she's definitely, without a doubt a writing power to behold and cherish...

for full enjoyment these books should be read in this order Healer (The Healer Series, #1) by B.N. Toler Hybrid (The Healer Series, #2) by B.N. Toler Savage (The Healer Series, #3) by B.N. Toler

☆ I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆

#No! I want MORE! It can’t end like that!

description

Savage was a complete 180 toll of what the previous two installments entailed. It was darker, insanely cutting-edge, and more uncompromising as wee see Aldo’s character dramatically shift into something we’ve never seen before.

From beginning to end, I just was at a loss and in awe of what took place. From vigorous ups and downs, new discoveries, twists and turns, Ms. Toler had truly crafted a mind-blowing and out of the box pivotal conclusion which will both have you reeling with want and at ease that the characters have finally found some sense of peace (even if their fight is still not over). Was rather bittersweet and unsettling really.

Please, please consider writing Spawn!! *I beg you!!*

THIS IS NOT MY FINAL REVIEW!!! I REPEAT THIS IS NOT MY FINAL REVIEW, LOL. But with that damn ending I just read,......smh,..........I have nothing else to write right now because A) I'm a freaking wreck at the moment, (you can't put pregnant women through this kind of torture) and B) I demand Spawn ASAP,.....And C) I've freaking loved this series and ALL of these characters and was not expecting this sort of ending at all. It's like being tortured by Whitlow. So many feelings.

I will go on to say, there is a amazing prologue in the beginning of this book that recaps all that's gone down in books 1 and 2. Like, I seriously was giving huge dibs to Mrs. Toler and I had just started the book. Then the story, just wow, total captivating. I mean from the very beginning I was hooked. I felt like all of the hybrid characters were my family, and then my poor beautiful Rhett. I took his ummmm, ......"storyline" pretty hard in book 2, I was head over heals in love with him, so I was completely ecstatic to see how things worked out for him here. Wouldn't mind like a short novella or something to let us know how that all works out for him, lol, hint hint, teehee!!

If you haven't picked up this series you are truly missing out. It's unlike anything else you've read and so easy to get lost in. Go on, nothing else to do, go pick it up, yes right now, and start it immediately. I promise you'll love it. :)

Oh and btw, in case I wasn't clear up top......

YES, PUT ME DOWN ON THAT LIST FOR DEMANDING SPAWN!!!!! I already can't wait!! :)

Now, to go recover from that ending....

I don't even know how to express my feelings about this book. Honestly, I'm just feeling raw right now. This story was NOT your sweet little love story. It was gritty and edgy. Rife with betrayal and red herrings, I didn't know if I was coming or going while reading it. What I will say is that the tapestry of the story was beautiful. The story was unique and will definitely keep your rapt attention from beginning to end because you will just HAVE to know what happens next. I liked the introduction of lycan's into this story and how they integrated with the climax of the plot. But man...did I say it left me raw? Yeah! Aldo is coming back from a really dark place of abduction and torture and she is not the same weak Aldo we see in book 1, Healer and book 2, Hybrid. No, this Aldo is fierce and edgy with a lot of darkness clouding her actions. But through it all, Daniel is there beside her to bring her back from the edge. I also appreciate seeing some revelations about Thomas and even Rhett who may even have a chance of finding love again. But by the end of the book, you will hate the author. Oh, it doesn't end in a cliffhanger but it does end in a sort-kinda-happy for now. But I need more! I need all of the characters to find their happily ever after. NOW! *Begs the author to give me what I need*.

SAVAGE is the final installment of Aldo’s journey in the Healer series. The series started with a young, naïve, impulsive Aldo and ends with a warrior queen. SAVAGE is the culmination of everything Aldo has learned and experienced and is the time for her to finally be the woman she was always destined to be.

While it would be a disservice to not read each book in the Healer series in order, even readers of the entire series have a lot to remember about the world B.N. Toler has created. In that regard, Ms. Toler did an amazing job recapping all the important details about the paranormal world Aldo lives in at the beginning of SAVAGE without it feeling like a summary.

After being abducted by Bridge in HYBRID, Aldo endures unimaginable horrors as a doctor tests out every way to almost kill a Hybrid. She is tortured within an inch of her life each time; only to have her body heal itself and the doctor begin again.

Daniel is willing to turn the entire world upside down and utilize every resource he has to find Aldo, but he has no idea how damaged she might be when he finally recovers her. Nor does he know just what the tests on Aldo have turned up and how valuable she may have become in the process.

I was so glad to see Aldo shed her immaturity from HYBRID and really start to consider the repercussions her decisions might have on the people around her. In her youth she had been so impulsive that she would leave mass chaos in her wake. She was so determined to accomplish her goals that she never considered whether she was adequately equipped to fight her opponents. I always felt like I was screaming through my kindle at her to wake up and realize she wasn’t all-knowing or all-powerful and to find someone she could trust and actually lean on them. But in SAVAGE, when Aldo has not only the power to back up her threats but the right to seek retribution for those who have wronged her, she also has the willpower and maturity to hold back and consider the whole picture.

The action scenes were detailed and at times almost gory but it added to the strength of the paranormal aspect of the story. The sex scenes are smoking hot and firmly place SAVAGE in the romance genre as well. When it comes to the romance though, I just don’t know that I’m the best one to judge since I’m still trying to figure out how Aldo could leave Rhett. I think part of my reservation is a combination of Aldo not seeming desirable enough to have three powerful, amazing men so smitten over her and my wishing Ms. Toler had made Rhett a little less perfect or Daniel a little more, whatever it took to help me move into clear-cut team Daniel. Instead, I’m always waiting to see if Aldo changes her mind so I’m not able to fully immerse myself in the love scenes.

While for me the series was most perfect in the initial book, HEALER, I still think Ms. Toler accomplished a lot of what she promised in the conclusion of the series. I rated SAVAGE 3.5 stars because for me, it never quite reached the wow factor I had with HEALER and at times I found myself losing interest; but for reviewing purposes I rounded up to 4 stars because I think B.N. Toler still managed to set a high learning curve for Aldo and, through the series and especially in SAVAGE, helped her evolve into the woman she needed to be.

I'm befuddled, yes befuddled this story has twisted me up into a pretzel and I don't know how to feel. What a ride! I loved books 1 and 2 in this series but this book it takes the series from really good to GREAT!

I've been asked many times how to classify this series is it paranormal romance, UF is it young adult what? All I can say is yes! The series starts out with the main character Aldo being young adult...high school age but so much happens and as we ride the twists and turns of her story she grows into new adult ...the story slides in and out of Urban Fantasy to paranormal romance to dark urban fantasy with romantic elements. It is all these things but most of all it is Aldo's story..her life, her loves, her losses, her challenges and in this last novel her pain. The change from this annoying almost TSTL character to this dark, gritty, kickass heroine was remarkable and we the reader got to experience all her emotional experiences and take this ride with her.

I truly noted B.N. Toler's growth as an author through this series as well. Don't get me wrong I love her contemporary romances as well but this series is the one where her skill shines. In Savage, she has created a darker world, with more pain, it is gritty and well Savage. The characters also take on this darker more haunting aspect, even the character who we met in book one have grown and developed more of an edge. I found as I was reading that every time I turned a page there was something different about someone, as I approached the last chapters I found my HEA that I must have in my reads only to have BN rip my heart out with another twist.

So for all you potential readers out there...read book 1 and 2 first...it is a MUST. Ms Toler was wonderful enough to give a great reminder prologue that will tweek your memory since so many things happened in the previous books and I for one really appreciated this. Make sure you have drinks and snacks handy cause once you start you will not be able to put the book down...and if you are thinking of getting any sleep I suggest you do away with that illusion now. The book will grab you and not let go. Also when the books ends you will want to smack Ms Toler on the back of the head and say YES ...YES ...YES...why are you asking....just get to it!

With all this you will know I"m giving this outstanding novel a 5 star rating and a t'irla recommendation with excellence. A definite can't miss book for 2-14...I know it made my top 10 list. Now...go buy it....and get reading so we can all chat about it!

Note: this novel was given to me by the author for an honest review...It will be available to you all December 10, 2014...preorder NOW>

Ok I'm not one for writing reviews I kinda suck at it but here goes. I'm not giving any spoilers but if you have read the first 2 books healer and hybrid you will know Aldo and Daniel. and I'm #teamdaniel all the way.... B N Toler has done it yet again. I cried I laughed I was on the edge of my seat. I highly recommend this book as if I could I would give it 100 stars. This book leaves you wanting this series to never end. If you have not read the healer series...WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!! you are missing out. The suspense the turmoil the happiness. All wrapped into one. B N Toler is a writer that I know will be hugely famous. She has the ability to draw you in from the beginning and keeps you on your toes all the way through the book. I am so glad I have the pleasure of knowing her. If you have not read the books get on it as you will not regret it. (as I said no good with reviews but here it is) lol amazing yet again b n toler.

Let me just say that I started using #waitingforSavage when talking about Savage, but what I should have used was #SaveAldo. That's a lot of this books theme. It went to everyplace and left you raw (Note, I was crying in Walmart when I finished this book, don't ask just know it happen). Toler really pushed herself with this book, and she did well, it was funny, smart, romantic, gritty, heart stopping, heart breaking, that all ends in a HEA (for now, maybe, I'll give no more other than I say yes to Spawn, that is all).

And can I just say I loved getting into Daniels head.

I don't even think there should be a question if you should read Savage... Just do it. If you have not read Healer or Hybrid as long as you like Paranormal Romance then you would be able to fall in love with this series as I have..

So sad its over..... or is it?

The Healer Series by BN Toler is by far one of my absolute favorite PNR series. Each book gets better than the last, and the story progresses seamlessly with each new addition. I feel like nothing I say will adequately do this book, or the series, any justice at all, but I’ll try. Ms. Toler has a way with words that just plain amazes me. She combines humor, darkness, romance, and action in the most brilliant way possible, creating an unbelievable page turner that will leave you unable to move until you’ve devoured the entire book. (FYI I only gush like this when my socks have truly been knocked off)

Savage has a different feel from Healer and Hybrid. The story has taken an interesting turn as Bridge has betrayed the Hybrid group and basically delivered Aldo into the hands of the men she’s been trying to bring down. She’s become a test subject, a new toy to experiment on, for the depraved Dr. Whitlow. We’re given brief glimpses into the nightmare of her captivity as she passes in and out of consciousness, thanks to the poison laced blood she’s being fed. With each passing day Aldo comes to terms with the fact that being rescued seems more and more unlikely. But come hell or high water Daniel will find a way to set her free. He knows she won’t be the same woman she was before, that she’s been through too much trauma to just walk away from it all unscathed. Yet he’s ready and willing to do whatever it takes to bring her back. Gotta love that man!

First, I have to thank Ms. Toler for that awesome prologue. It’s a little longer and more detailed than your typical prologue but for a blogger such as myself, who reads a massive amount of books back to back, a refresher course on the series is greatly appreciated! I was able to get right back into the story without a hitch. While I hate what Aldo had to endure while held captive, I must admit I love the new badass Aldo that emerged from the darkness, more powerful and intense than ever before. Sure she has some serious recovering to do, I’m not going to downplay that one bit, but it’s a learning process. And watching her figure it all out is quite the journey. The addition of a new group of supernatural beings (Lycan) really opens up the possibilities in this series. I could totally get on board with a couple spin offs **hint hint**.

I love everything about these characters and I especially love the family dynamics of the Hybrid group. They have each others backs through it all, and will go to any extreme to defend/protect their family. Ms. Toler does a fantastic job of giving each character a voice and creating a deep connection for the reader. She really makes you feel like a part of the story, which is an essential part of the whole reading experience.

So let’s talk about that ending for a brief second, while it was a bit of a shocker…I totally get it. No hard feelings here, I agree that it was the best move, in more ways than one, for Aldo and Daniel. And that’s all I’m going to say about that!

I highly recommend this series and anything else written by this author.
I’ll leave you with these final words to the author: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WRITE SPAWN!!!

First and foremost, if you haven't read Healer and Hybrid, stop and read those first. There is a lot of foundation that is built that you will be completely lost without. That being said, take a look at the author approved blurb. Daniel and Aldo are lovers, she was kidnapped. Daniel faces a new dilemma once he tracks her down. She's changed. Part of it's good because she's becoming everything that he knew she could be, but it's bad too. She has no humanity left it seems. It rips his heart apart. If she can't be saved... no, he doesn't finish that thought, he can't.

That's all you get out of me as far as what the story is about. I can't give more away, cause I will give it all away. But here is how I felt. I laughed and cried throughout the book. The humor and wittiness of the characters is awesome. But the pain they go through cuts you to your core along with them. This is not your run of the mill love story where you turn a page and go, yep, saw that coming. Oh no! BN Toler doesn't do that to you. It's more like you turn a page and go, where'd that come from?! Did I miss a page or ten? As far as fantasy goes, it wouldn't be mine, but each emotion and commitment each character feels for one another you can truly feel. By the way, who the heck makes 'evil' characters likable? I'm not supposed to like the bad guys, but I found that some of these folks I could understand them. Didn't mean I like them, just understood. If you have about 4 hours to kill and HAVE read the first two, pick this up. You won't put it down until you read THE END!

First off I wanna say if you've been reading this series as it comes out and haven't read books 1&2 in a while, there is an AWSOME prologue to help jog your memory!!! As a blogger I read so many books that they sometimes blend together and with series it's hard beause I usually don't have time to go back and read the previous books so I rely on the synopsis and my own reviews of previous book to help remember what was going on, but that is not full proof. So yea prologue...AWSOME.

Aldo was kidnapped and wow who is with me on knowing Briggs was an evil a-hole? She's finally figured things out with Daniel and then BAM they are torn apart.

Daniel will do anything for his love, and her being taken has him on the edge of reason, he'll do what it takes to get her back no matter who it pisses off.

Captivity. She is not just taken, she's being tortured and she's going to a very dark place the longer she's there. Will Aldo be able to pull back from te darkness or will it consume her?

Daniel made a decision. He saved his woman and gave up the cover he'd been working on for decades, now he has to deal with the consiquences. But none of that is half as bad a worrying about the one he loves and the crazy she's going through.

This was an action packed conclusion to this series. I loved seeing how it all came together in the end and enjoyed every bit of it!

I cannot stress strongly enough how much I loved this book! I was a huge fan of this author after the first two books, but this one made the series one of my favourite. However it also left me hating the author just a little bit. Why? Two words - The Ending!!! Aghhhh I actually screamed at my kindle as I read it!

Anyway, on to the story itself. To fully understand the story you must read books 1 & 2 first. However, the author has added a bit of a reminder prologue for anyone who has forgotten some of what they have read before. That in itself is a great start.

The story reminds us why we fell in love with the characters previously. The author immediately brings us back into the lives of Aldo, Daniel et al. There are twists and turns which you won't see coming. And can I again mention The End!.!?

I cannot go into the story as I honestly don't believe anything I say would make a difference to someone reading this review. However I will say this - if you don't pick up this series and read it you are seriously missing out. The author has come on so much during the books, her characters have become real to me through reading about their journey, and I for one sincerely hope she has a rethink and continues with the story of the characters we love!

It's hard to believe that when starting this series I was skeptical. I was a reader that thought if a book was $3 or less it probably wasn't worth reading. BOY WAS I WRONG!!
The healer series skyrocketed to my top 5 favorite series and I will forever re-read them.
Savage makes my heart scream. BN Toler shows us a side to Daniel in this book that we would have never expected....fear...and his intense love for his kitten (Aldo) it's beautiful to see the big bad King of the Hybrids show weakness for his badass love. Toler also brings Aldo full circle in this final installment. What started off as a irritating girl, jumping head first into circumstances, putting everyone she cares about in danger even when she was trying not to, now becomes a woman with one goal...to make the right decisions and keep those she loves safe...all while trying to keep herself from succumbing to all that is Savage and keeping the beast within her at bay. I am at odds with myself on loving that this book is finally here to being terribly sad that the series is over.
I will forever purrrr for Daniel!
Thank you BN Toler, I love you hard!

Well, DAYAM!!!
What to write now that this is over?? But no, wait! There's more.... It might not be over!
SQUEEEEEEEE!!!

Please don't let it be over!
I for one could definitely read more of the wonderful world and characters Ms Toler has created.
I'm ticking the box for the series to continue, but please, don't let Daniel and Aldo NOT see Abha
between now and then. I couldn't bear it if they never saw her until she was grown.

I have loved this series, and yet another new take on the traditional vampire story, but man ,
that ending was totally out of left field!! and then to tease us with the possibility of SPAWN!
You are a cruel cruel woman Ms Toler, but I love you!

This has been a wonderful journey, with so many twists and turns, it reads almost like a mystery.
What you see is not always as it seems, and certainly not what you expect. Great work Ms Toler
looking forward to Maybe, Hopefully reading more!(and perhaps getting an explanation for the name Daniel and Aldo chose?)

In the beginning, this book was awesome, but then towards the middle, it started to lose me. And after that, I just started fast forwarding through the book. Sad to say, but that ending was not my cuppa, but overall, this was a decent read.

I just had to know what happened to Aldo and her family and friends. Aldo has grown as a character over the course of the books in this series (Healer, Hybrid and now Savage) and has really come into her own as a person. Although this is the last planned book in the series, we can also hope that B N Toler may decide to continue on with the story line either with Aldo and her exploits or with other characters in the story. Well written and it kept me engrossed until the end.

I Demand SPAWN

Ha! I had to get that out first because I not only WANT Spawn, I NEED it. This whole series blew me away but Savage was my favorite. Daniel and Aldo were amazing together. I lived how they were both so fierce and capable but so much better together. I also think Aldo may have had some ferocious and powerful hormones because of the babe. I loved that she saw red and was kicking his butt at one point in time. Great Great read. Please give us Spawn 🙏

Well, there's...not a whole lot I can say about this book other than I FREAKING LOVED IT! 5 stars across the board!

Alright, alright, I fell in love with the first book in this series, and then the second book, omg, the wait to read THIS book dang near killed me! But Ms. Toler delivered, and it was well worth the wait!!

Aldo really comes into what she is, and we see what she can do as a pi**ed off Hybrid on the brink of going totally Savage , to the point of no return!! I'm so glad she has her Daniel to keep her balanced. I almost want to say “in-check” but come on, no one can really stop Aldo, she's a force to be reckoned with.

The story literally picks up where Hybrid left off; with a whole lot of twists and turns that you do not expect, at all. We're even introduced with another supernatural being that presents a problem to our band of healers. Daniel sure has his work cut out for him for when he gets the love of his life back into his arms. Since Aldo won't tell him what happened during her captivity, he really doesn't know how he can help her, and it kills him. One thing the both of them do know is, is that Bridge, and a whole lot of others will pay, not only for capturing and torturing Aldo, but for certain threats that were made – which I am not going to spoil for anyone who hasn't read the book – towards the group as a whole.
Truuuust me, if you haven't read this series, START NOW! It will hook you. I'm absolutely positive that you'll have a few new book boyfriends to add to your ever growing list as well! Hee-hee.

There's plenty of action, deceit, SEX, and humor to keep you reading until you finish. And if you have to stop to say, I don't know, do real life things, like work, you'll count the hours or minutes until you can pick right back up to where you left off. The book is that damn, good! The ending, I thought, was perfect, and how it should be. IF the author wants to continue on with the series, I would love to read more and find out what else is to come with all of these lovely people, but, if she leaves it as is, that's totally fine too!

I also want to point out that since this series is the authors first first go at writing and publishing... Wow, bravo, congratulations, please keep going, I need more!!!

We absolutely love this Paranormal Series. Before you start Savage, stop right there for you MUST read Healer and Hybrid! There is a great epilogue that goes over the past two books, but you will miss a lot if you haven't read the first two.

That being said, Savage begins in a dark place. Aldo is being held captive, she is tortured and experimented on. Only waking for brief periods of time to feel pain, alas by feeling pain she knows she is alive. All the while Daniel and the gang are endlessly searching for her. When she is finally rescued it is not by who you would expect. After being taken by Lykins, they are unaware of how powerful she has truly become. Daniel and the gang swoop in to save Aldo from the Lykins, but Aldo can now take care of herself. She is savage and she is out of control, and now everyone is in much more danger than ever before.

Savage is so much darker than either Healer or Hybrid. It is brutal and it is dirty. There is despair and sadness as well as pain, lots of pain. We love that all of the past characters are brought back into the scene with one common goal and that is to save Aldo, not only from her captors but from herself. The story is full of violence and bursting with desperate need. BN created a story that sucked us right into her world of crazy twists and turns around every corner. Although the ending left us satisfied, we sure would love to see Spawn happen and take place some 16 years later...

We give it 5 sighs.

After the cliffhanger of the second book of the series, Hybrid, I was very excited to see what we would happen with Daniel and Aldo in the next book. I liked being able to read Daniel's point of view while he was going through the process of finding Aldo. I think it helped to convince me that he was right for Aldo, because when the last book ended, I was not sure if I was a fan of Daniel. It sill grosses me out that he smokes, and he sometimes seems too aggressive/controlling for my liking. However, he obviously deeply cared for Aldo, and I was happy to finally see her in a lasting relationship.

This book was very dark and gritty. Aldo experienced emotional and physical torture. There were some very dark scenes, but there were also romantic scenes that helped balance the darkness. The book had so many twists and turns, which definitely helped keep the story interesting. I was so happy that Daniel and Aldo got a happy ending. Their battle might not be completely over, but as of right now, they are very happy. I would be very interested in seeing this author continue the series with the potential book Spawn.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a thrilling paranormal romance.

4 / 5 Fangs

Cliffhanger: No... but definitely a potential for a new book.
