It's almost Halloween in Misty Hollow... but Darcy Sweet won't be having a fun time trick or treating this year.

The mists are gathering, rolling in heavy and thick, feeding off the trouble that is coming to town. The trouble her Great Aunt Millie had warned her about. Trouble with a capital T.

With a psychopathic ghost that is running rampant through town causing dark mischief wherever he goes and a dead body that is dumped on the Mayor's front lawn Darcy is going to have her hands full trying to sort it all out.

Can she work out what is happening before anyone else ends up dead? Will she be able to triumph against the malevolent spirit that is intent on destroying the residents of Misty Hollow?

Ghosts from the past..

Darcy Sweet has a gift, she can find and communicate with ghosts. This romance and mystery story about a presumed murder will keep you turning the pages. Although I’m not really a ghost story/para-normal book fan, I did enjoy following this story to the end. Enjoy!

Best Story Yet

What a Ghost Story, It was awesome.K.J Emerick has quite the imagination and I loved the story. A ghost from the past causing so much trouble. But Darcy prevails. Who killed the realtor? There are six suspects and none of them knows who really is the killer. You'll have to read it to see who really is the killer. And how to get rid of the ghost?

Never midnight

It's been so long since I caught up on the Darcy Sweet series, I forgot how action packed they can get. Darcy certainly has her job cut out for her with this one, never knowing who could attack her makes life very scary and extremely painful.

I wanted to like the book

Shallow. Dumb. Good energy. Never connected with a character. Juvenile. Waste of time. Wanted to like Darcy. Must work for some with 13 books written.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

Mystery is the game

This is the 13th book in the Darcy Sweet series, and each book has pulled me into her life in Misty Hollow a little more each time. It has been fascinating reading about Darcy , Jon, and all their family and friends as they go through one predicament after another. Ms Emrick has certainly kept my interest flowing from book to book. I have four books left in this series to read, then it will be the same ole game of waiting with baited anticipation for the next book. I hope Ms Emrick has plenty more stories in her heart for Darcy, Jon, and all the folks (and spirits) in and around Misty Hollow.

This is by far the best Darcy Sweet story so far!
The author has really come a long way with these cosy little mysteries. What used to be a quite simple (yet enjoyable) read, has now developed into a novella that has fleshed out characters & stronger plot lines.
And this one was chillingly spooky with a psychopathic spirit, a possession inspired murder & the mystery surrounding Aunt Millie's ring that Darcy inherited.
We also see further into Darcy's belief that her niece has inherited the family "curse" & Jon & Darcy finally set the date for their wedding!
Already downloaded the next installment.

Pilgrim ghost murder

The town's legendary ghost tries to get his revenge on the town and Darcy Sweet wants to rid the town of this murderous evil ghost. A bit of romance and lots of mystery makes this a well paced story that kept me turning the pages to the satisfactory ending. I am a fan and plan on reading more Darcy Sweet cozy mysteries.

This style of story is not for me!

I like mystery, suspense and crime stories. But this story got deep into the supernatural, and frightened me. The good thing was, the writing was excellent. I got pulled right into the story (where I did not wish tell be), then held me till the happy ending. Which took a few frightening scenes too long, for this old lady.

This one really keeps you on your toes

WOW this one was really intense. Just when I think the series can't get any better K.J. fools me again. I simply couldn't put this one down until I finished. I was completely mesmerized. Well done, I am eagerly waiting for the next adventure.

Quick easy read

Love the ongoing characters in this series. The storyline is well written $ it goes quickly. Easy to follow along $ yet there is still a mystery to be solved.

Definitely improving as they go. Emrick has trouble with the use of her vs. she, however.
