I’m a self-published author of genre fiction, who moonlights as an industrial instrumentation technician (tradeswoman, for short). I’m happily married to the man who turned me into a zombie-maniac, and we have a eight-year-old daughter who is already more into superheroes than I could ever hope to be. When I’m not working on my blog, I’m writing mainly in the horror and fantasy genres, but I’ve also been known to dabble in supernatural, sci-fi, and even a little bit of romance. On the blog I discuss everything from my writing process, to the wonderful world of parenting, to my goals and aspirations, and whatever happens to spark my interest at any given time. My ultimate desire? To become a traditionally published author and spend my life writing awesome books.

Nowhere To Hide is a really engaging read. I enjoyed it from the first page right down till the very last page!

It is about a girl who finds herself in the midst of an unforeseen apocalypse and what makes this book different from others is the twist which leaves her with a little baby. Amidst all the chaos, Nancy tries her best to take care of the baby while trying to survive each and every day.

The best part about the book was the pacing of the story. Not even for a single second, I felt that the plot was going weak or uneventful. I enjoyed the exposition as well as the meticulous imagery. The writing was really good and the story flowed beautifully.

There were places though where the situations could have been more intense but I'm happy about the way things were.
I was able to feel a strong connection with the leading lady, Nancy. She had a strong personality and I was able to relate to her on so many different levels. I was able to feel her frustration behind each and every relentless decision she made and felt a wave of happiness and relief whenever situations got better.
The supporting/secondary characters were also very relatable. I loved Greg's character a lot and was able to feel a connection with him too.

The ending was absolutely gut-wrenching. I felt so sad that I couldn't stop thinking about it for hours after I finished reading it.

It is a spectacular apocalyptic tale with an interesting twist and I'd recommend it to all the apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic fiction readers.

I have followed Tracey on Youtube for a couple of years and just found out recently that she had wrote a couple of books. I had to give them a read.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fast read with a very good plot line to follow. The kindle edition has about 230 pages and it did not feel like it.

I would recommend this book.

I don't usually read books that are to do with zombies because I think they'll be just too much blood and gore. But this book isn't filled with too much blood and gore and was a really good read.

I just had to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next whether the characters were going to survive and what was going to happen next. The ending of the book was really inventive and different.

I bought the paperback version of the book instead of the kindle just because I fancied a good paperback book to read, and this book was well worth the money.

Although typically this is not my favorite genre of book I made a pledge to start supporting local authors and I am glad I came across this one! This book surprised me with many twists and I love when a book isn't predictable! As a first time published author I look forward to reading more from Tracey.

This is not typically my genre of choice but, but as I will with most books, I will give it a chance. With that being said, I have to say that I enjoyed this one. It was written really well and I like the way it developed the characters and the twists that it had. I look forward to more from Tracey Lynn Tobin in the future.

"Nowhere To Hide" by Tracey Tobin is a thrilling zombie story that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. This is my first zombie read and I just loved it and looking for more like this. The story follows Nancy King, a young woman whose life is turned upside down when a mysterious outbreak unleashes violent wanderers and leads to sudden attacks in her small town.

As Nancy struggles to survive, she finds herself constantly on the run, hiding from the dangerous creatures that now roam the streets. But as the situation grows more dire, Nancy discovers that even hiding may not be enough to stay alive.

One of the strengths of the book is its well-developed characters. Nancy is a relatable protagonist, whose determination and bravery make her a standout character in the midst of chaos. The supporting characters are also fleshed out and add depth to the story, making it more than just a simple survival tale.

The plot is fast-paced and full of action, with unexpected twists and turns that will keep readers engaged throughout. Tracey does an excellent job of building tension and creating a sense of dread that permeates the entire novel. At its core, Nancy fights for her life, she also struggles to hold onto her humanity in a world that has become increasingly inhumane.

Overall, "Nowhere To Hide" is a gripping and well-crafted novel that is sure to satisfy fans of the horror and post-apocalyptic genres. Tracey's writing is sharp and immersive, and her characters are both compelling and relatable. If you're looking for a thrilling read that will keep you on the edge of your seat, then "Nowhere To Hide" is definitely worth checking out.

*I was given a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.*

Hm. Where to start? Nowhere To Hide had a lot of promise.

1. Zombie apocalypse
2. Zombie apocalypse
3. Zombie apocalypse

Yes, I am making a joke.

It started off pretty okay, but the more I read, the more I wanted to not read, but I had to see it through because a small part of me wanted to find out what caused the zombies. And even that part disappointed me a little bit.

Our main character, Nancy, is a bartender. She’s alright, but I never really gave a crap about her. There was nothing that made me root for her and I thought she was quite silly at times.

A lot of the dialogue and scenarios felt very forced and awkward. 0.5 seconds after meeting Greg, Nancy adopts him as an honorary brother. Huh? You just met the kid! More than one character liked referring to people as “my dear”, and Nancy liked using the term “my lover”, which was SO weird. Not once in any internal monologue have I ever called a boyfriend, a fling, whatever “my lover”.

One of the BIGGEST problems I had with Nowhere To Hide was all the telling that happened. We’d be given a scene, something would happen, and Tobin would write, “They shouldn’t have done that.” Or something along those lines, which created some of the most awkward cases of scene transition that I’ve ever read. It just did not flow.

I’m not even going to discuss the errors. Double words, names not being switched. It needs to be cleaned up a bit.

I am, however, giving it two stars for the following reasons:

1. I did finish it, without really wanting to put it down (this might have been different if the book was longer)
2. The zombies and the scenarios they created DID kinda scare me

The plot itself had a bit of promise, but it could have been worked on and expanded SO much more.

Ms. Tobin's debut horror thriller is a fast-paced, exciting romp through zombie-infested territory. Nowhere to Hide hits all the beats of a classic tale of undead cannibalism perfectly - the suspense, the fear, the heartbreak - it's all there and told with a readable, clean writing style that hooks you in and keeps you glued to the page.

The characters are interesting, sympathetic and believable. The main character, Nancy, has all the weird thoughts and asides that a normal, 21st-century intelligent person would have if thrust into the zombie apocalypse. The best arc may actually come from one of her travelling companions, a young man who lost his family and is desperate to latch onto a new one, and grows into a mature and responsible adult very rapidly in the aftermath of the apocalypse.

I was not a huge fan of the ending but that's just a matter of taste. I prefer horror survival stories that are an exploration of the characters and their relationships and how the human mind copes with extreme experiences. Sometimes we don't need to know the where these horrors come from. That being said, Ms. Tobin absolutely does explore those themes and handles them well.

Overall a solid, readable and thrilling novel with great characters and wonderful pacing that I would gladly recommend to anyone who loves zombies and survival horror.

I received this book through a Goodreads giveaway. Thanks!
Nowhere to Hide was a fast enjoyable read. The zombie genre has been done to death (pardon the pun), but Nowhere to Hide has a different take on it. The main character, Nancy is very likeable, as are the lead male characters, Ken and Greg. There is the inevitable zombie apocalypse but the ending offers an interesting explanation. Although not a cliffhanger ending, the reader is left with some questions and there is room for a sequel.

It was interesting because it came up with a conclusion that was very different from what you might expect. Some may think it is silly or stupid since it diverges from your typical zombie story. There were also a few zombie "rules" that had been changed in this story - which made more sense once I'd finished. The writing isn't spectacular, but it is fresh and easy to move forward in.
