The Sheriff and the Stray: An MM Mpreg Shifter Romance

Rate this book
I broke into the sheriff’s trailer looking for a place to hide. I didn’t expect to find him.

Colt Warrick wasn’t supposed to be there. But the moment I smelled him—saw the gun in his hand, the control in his eyes—I knew I was in trouble.

He’s the new sheriff in Dustbite Creek, and he’s hunting the men I used to run with. The ones who used me, marked me, and left me for dead. He should’ve turned me in. Instead, he gave me a couch, a sandwich, and a second chance.

I don’t believe in fated mates. Not after what I’ve been through. Not when I’m still half-feral and one bad memory away from breaking.

But when my heat hits and the Riders come knocking, Colt makes one thing very

He’s not just protecting me.

He’s claiming me.

The Sheriff and the Stray is a steamy M/M Mpreg shifter romance set in a dusty desert town where corruption runs deep and heat runs hotter. Expect knotting, heat-triggered bonding, forced proximity, found family, and a protective alpha who never backs down. Book 1 in the Dustbite Riders series. HEA guaranteed.

Good storyline

I do love urban PNR, although this was more wild, wild west complete with sheriff, deputies, a drug dealing MC, and tumbleweed. Alpha/ omega fated mates and a surprise for both of them. The story, however, skips past I would have liked to seen and d falls right into an epilogue 3 weeks later. Lovely descriptions, though...

New to me

This is the first book I have read by this author. There were a few consistency/nitpicky things that my OCD brain found that were off but overall, a good story that held my interest. The mystery behind how Silas died is definitely keeping me invested in the series. It is a good overarching plot that we know what and who, but not all the pieces there yet to conclude. Makes for a good story.

I think I would have liked this book more if it was longer. The plot was too dense for it to be contained in just under 100 pages. Everything felt rushed, including their relationship, and though the characters felt like they were well developed --we didn't get to see that development. I didn't get any attachment to any of the characters, nor the relationship, nor the storyline to be honest.

The Sheriff and the Stray

A short high stakes MM Mpreg shifter romance that capture my attention from the start. I enjoyed the suspense and of course the sweet romance between Colt and Mateo.

If you enjoy shifter MM romances, knotting, fated mates, high stakes, hurt/comfort, protective MMCs, and more then check this one out!

Not as Expected

This was not entertaining. Lots of gritty characters and behaviors, violence both in and out of scene, and at book’s end there is only a partial resolution to most of the tension and implied actions. Shifter senses, but no shifting actions. Just odd.
