Palace of Reveries

Rate this book
The sun is but a lone star in a very vast night.

Every tech knows it. This is how I die. In the dark. Alone. Breathless. I never thought to wonder what else was in the abyss. What might be worse than the end. That was an oversight. But hey, I wasn't wrong: this is how I'm going to die.

Skadus is missing and the old gods are rising. The Firmament search for a new Pharaoh, the House of Hope continue to petition for restitution, and the priests whisper of a new sun god.

But what makes a God? Can one be killed? Can one be remade?
With conflicting demands coming from all sides, Sage must decide what kind of partner she desires to embrace, what kind of leader she hopes to be, and what kind of future she envisions for Ma’at Seth.

Is service to a palace worth your life? What would you sacrifice for choice?

Oh, *Palace of Reveries*? More like *Palace of Emotional Devastation and Unhinged Excellence*. Seeley Lynde is some kind of literary wizard who has obviously made a deal with forces beyond comprehension, because this book doesn’t just pull you in—it *drags you by the collar and refuses to let go*

Ancient Egypt? Oh, sure, that’s in there. But this isn’t some dusty history lesson—it’s *history with teeth*, fully alive, stomping around in your brain like an overly confident deity demanding your full emotional investment. The banter? I ascended to a higher plane of existence fueled purely by *ridiculously sharp dialogue*. I cackled. I gasped. I, a fully functional adult, *snorted* in public…on a plane!! These characters *know* how to bounce off each other—every interaction feels effortless, electric, *dangerous*.

And let’s talk about the writing. Every single twist? A *knee to the ribs*. Every quiet moment? *A breath-stealing piece of art*. Every bit of heartache and triumph? *Delivered via celestial lightning strike*. You’ve made it this far in the series? Congratulations, you are now part of something bigger than yourself. This book rewards you, but also hunts you down and reprograms your entire emotional state.

In conclusion: *Palace of Reveries* is not just a book. It’s an *experience*. An *event*. A *phenomenon*. Read at your own risk. But also? Read it immediately. There is no going back. This book *owns* you now. Final warning: Proceed with caution. Or don’t—just accept your fate.

The epic conclusion to the Principalities trilogy came to an end in this novel. What a fantastic series it has been.

I loved meeting and expanding on all the characters, Skadus in particular, but being able to be in the different perspectives really amplified the worldbuilding that this series creates. This intensified the political edge that the book exhibits because the reader got to see the impact of decisions being made by different characters. Also, just their humour was really great, and their dynamics were also super fun to explore.

Alongside this, the magic system was really interesting and had bigger significance to the plot than I was anticipating, which was so intriguing to read about and try and figure out.

Thank you so much to Seeley Lynde, Netherwood Press, and BookFunnel for an E-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The sun is but a lone star in a very vast night. And what a luminous finale this is! Seeley Lynde wraps up the Principalities trilogy with a bang—equal parts heartbreak, hope, and divine reckoning.

Sage, Skadus, and Ciaran have come so far, and this final instalment feels like a reward for readers who’ve journeyed with them. The world of Ma’at Seth is under pressure from all sides: gods are stirring, the Firmament seeks a new Pharaoh, and destiny is catching up fast. Yet amid the chaos, what shines brightest is the humanity of these characters—even the gods are flawed, and that’s what makes them compelling.

We finally discover the truth about Baby—one of my all-time favourite characters (and no, not a dog!). What a reveal. What a journey. Baby alone is worth the read.

The multiple POVs are used to great effect, giving depth to the political machinations and emotional stakes alike. Found family, power struggles, and spiritual rebirth all play out in stunning prose. It’s philosophical, it’s punchy, it’s gutting—and yes, it will bruise you, but you’ll thank it for doing so.

💡 Releasing 27 June 2025 – now’s the perfect time to dive into Book 1 (Palace of Disorder) and Book 2 (Palace of Wrath) so you’re ready for the epic finale.

Ideal for readers who enjoy intricate fantasy worlds layered with political intrigue and existential dilemmas, where the stakes of love and leadership challenge the boundaries of divinity and human choice.

✨ Huge thanks to Seeley Lynde, BookFunnel, and Netherwood Press for the free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book was incredible! Seeley Lynde builds a world so rich through the multiple POVs that will keep you interested and make you love the cast of characters.

The story picks back up where Palace of Wrath leaves off. There is much more references to Egyptian mythology which I enjoyed. We find out more about Skadus’ background and I loved his journey. Oh and Baby? Definitely not a dog!

Ciaran also goes through a journey. I have to say that I have always had a soft spot for him. When he and Sage are together it’s just so natural.

There are some unexpected twists and turns that will keep you glued to the page. But there is the same familiar banter between the characters which makes them feel like family.

Favorite Quote: “I felt electric because he always sent shivers across my skin and let butterflies loose in my soul.”

Overall, I highly recommend this series. Palace of Reveries was highly anticipated for me and it did not disappoint. I love Seeley’s writing style and I look forward to reading more by her.

Thank you to Seeley Lynde for the gifted copy, and for the wild ride over the weir.

"Sometimes the stars tell me to come home."
"What does it feel like?"
"Like I've been thirsty my whole life and someone is offering me a glass of water."

What a way to finish off the Principalities trilogy! I loved the conclusion to this story. What an adventure these characters have gone on.

Sage has grown so much. Skadus has finally found himself. Ciaran is as radiant as ever. And everyone in between really comes together. One of my favorite things about the Principalites is the found family aspect. The firmament is more than leadership and power.

The gods are as tricky as ever. It's incredible how Seeley shows us that even they are flawed with humanity. No one is immune from that, and it's beautiful!

Overall this final book is really balanced with different perspectives and I feel we got a lot of character growth. My heart is full after finishing it and I can't wait to see what comes next for this world! 💛

This is the 3rd book in the principalities series, I absolutely loved this book and every chapter by every character.

This series is about different palaces that represent different things. Palace of Truth, Palace of Propriety, Palace of Justice, Palace of Reciprocity, Palace of Order, Palace of Balance, Palace of Harmony. There is also the House of Hope and The Firmament..
Each Palace has a day and night Court with a Prince and Vizier for each.

Each person has a gift that manifests during selection at a certain age and then they get chosen into a palace they will belong to. Some are not chosen and do not weld a gift and are sent to the house of hope which is a camp for the unselected.

There are gods, Demi-Gods and a Pharaoh

A lot of twists that you don’t see coming and characters you just fall in love with.

You need to read in order to which the 1st book is Palace of Disorder and the second being Palace of Wrath

This was an amazing conclusion to this trilogy! I adore how Seeley does not take the characters too seriously. In amongst gorgeous prose about beautiful locations and breath-taking emotions, Seeley intertwines hilarious interactions between characters, scenes, and offhand character thoughts that had me giggling and grabbing for my annotation supplies.
I recommend this series for someone who wants a unique fantasy (it's Egyptian based!) which is guaranteed to make you laugh and cry, and for anyone who wants to become concerningly attached to fictional characters. Plus, if you love an animal who isn't quite right, Baby is a jackal who is "not a dog" or at least that's what some of the characters claim... (I think Baby is the cutest dog to ever exist and how dare you insinuate otherwise! 😡😂)

thanks so much Seeley for the ARC 🩷 it was a treat to read

Wow, what a ride this series has been! So sorry to see it end. I would have been happy to see the story continue, but it ended at a logical place. This series has a ton of characters with similar roles. I recommend printing a copy of the list of palaces and their members. Yes, you can jump to it on your device, but the going back and forth will get old. The cast of characters list at the back would have also been helpful, had I realized it was there. My only real gripe (Seeley, take heed) is the number of typos through the books. Not true typos, but wrong words that the grammar checker didn't pick up. A human reader will find these, though. That was a minor issue, though, and did not prevent me from being totally impressed by the writing, character development, and enjoyable story. Looking forward to whatever is coming next from this author!

The conclusion to The Principalities could also be called Skadus' book and I absolutely LOVE that.

Seeley has an absolute gift for storytelling and after reading book one I knew I was here for the long run. The way that this book wraps up the charcters we have come to know and love as well as seeing them reach their full potential was just beautiful. Also I totally called it that there was no way Baby was just a dog. That reveal was worth the wait!

Everyone coming into their powers and the element of everyone looking after each other was the true highlight of this book. I cant recommend this series enough. I won't ever stop talking about it.

Wow what a roller coaster ride. This is book three in this series of Egyptian gods, Pharaohs, and Princes. She’s a thiccccc girl so be prepared. I loved seeing Skadus come into his own and rocking it. Sage’s love and trust in him just grows. He needed her to be his rock. Sage and Ciarans love story is still there and going strong despite how book two ended. But this book shows more of everyone’s point of view and stories. We have chapters from everyone in the Firmament. Ferns gift from selection sounds like the most pretty thing in the whole world.
Plus it has bada$$ applications! Love this series so much.

This one had so many twists and a jaw dropping moment I wasn’t ready for! I really wish I was one of the Firmament 🥺 I wanna hang with the crew! Overall really good book!

I paced myself with this book, as much as it pained me to do so. So much happened that was all consuming that I was forced to take a moment, absorb and carry on. In the best way possible. This story takes you on a joyride, whether you want it to or not, I was gasping, cackling, crying, and shaking my head in not quite disappointment. Every emotion possible was pulled through me.
Suffice to say, I loved this book. I will always love this book. The characters feel like family to me now.

Thank you once again to Seeley Lynde, both for the story, and for the arc copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book was everything!
l've grown so attached to these characters over the trilogy, and this final instalment wrapped things up in a way that was emotional, magical, and just... perfectly done.
I was smiling, tearing up, and fully immersed the whole way through. It gave me closure, but it also left me craving more from this world. I need to know where the others end up!

💫I love the magic in the series. While a lot of magic can feel like a refresher of old ideas, Seeley does a great job of twisting them into something unique and of her own. Like Memphis? Come on now, so freaking cool.

💫Book 3 does not hessite to bring the same action and plot twists as book 1 and 2. In this book, there is a lot of direct conflict with the main characters and the Gods. Who shall be ballsy enough to take on Gods? This crew.

💫The plot is complex, every character has a piece that they are responsible for—they all impact the fate of the world. Unfortunately, Sage feels a little lost in this book. While the other characters are actively seeking their goals, she is more unsure and reactive. Like when everyone has a job but her and she lingers until she is forced into a position of making a choice to protect her sister (and Skadus is forced into action to protect Sage). I don’t really think this is the fault of the writer but of the character herself. Sage is trying her best to fulfill the roles of a Prince, but she is still working out what that means.

💫Overall, very entertaining and exciting with plenty of tension and conflict—even if there are some politics involved. It is very much a balancing act and hoping everything falls into place at just the right time. Oh yeah, people die, but you’ll have to read to see who survives!

💫Once again, Skadus steals the show for me! Well, Baby too but who doesn’t love dogs? ;)

🌟Thank you to Seeley Lynde for a free copy (and a crazy ride) in exchange of an honest review.

Loved this series. Mostly because of the characters, who were all weird but awesome! Missed so much the first read through that I had to re-read a couple months later. Hoping for a 4th book as there are some loose ends.
