When Dallas O'Grady's attention is hooked by a sexy rear end bent over a flat tire, he naturally pulls over to help. Then he gets a look at her face and realizes she's one of those Drummonds.
The Drummond's and the O'Grady's might both live in the town of Clare, but they've never played nice, not since a generations-old feud started over a cache of stolen gold nuggets.
Laura Drummond has fought long and hard to grip independence by the throat and avoid her mother's bulldozing attempts to control her life. She's always admired Dallas from afar, and she's pleased to discover that up close, he's gorgeous, sexy, and nothing like the monster her family has painted.
When the road home is blocked, she's forced to accept his offer of a bed for the night. One thing leads to another, and soon burning-hot desire melts into thoughts of forging a permanent relationship -- damn their families' disapproval.
But the feud isn't the only thing conspiring to keep the lovers apart. And the clock is ticking...
Warning: Intended for 18+ readers. Contains lovers determined to challenge the status quo, lots of sexy times, and a feud that just might destroy all their hopes for a happy future.
USA Today Bestselling author, Shelley lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband and a rambunctious puppy.
Typical New Zealanders, Shelley and her husband left home for their big OE soon after they married (translation of New Zealand speak - big overseas experience). A year long adventure lengthened to six years of roaming the world. Enduring memories include being almost sat on by a mountain gorilla in Rwanda, lazing on white sandy beaches in India, whale watching in Alaska, searching for leprechauns in Ireland, and dealing with ghosts in an English pub.
While travel is still a big attraction, these days Shelley is most likely found in front of her computer following another love - that of writing stories of romance and adventure. Other interests include watching rugby and rugby league (strictly for research purposes), being walked by the dog, and curling up with a good book.
I liked ONE book by this author and I think that’s because the characters were already married and I still had to double check couple of times if she was in fact the author!
This piece of shit let his other piece of shit brother blame heroine for the hero’s mugging and getting beaten up. The piece of shit brother refused to open his eyes and ears and see and listen what his other brothers were saying and what was in front of him. Heroine. Isn’t. Like. Her. Family. The third brother had nothing to do with the heroine, so why was he supporting her? No. That’s not good enough. Heroine’s other sisters are bitch therefore she’s a bitch is however good enough argument. Hero, the other piece of shit, while claiming heroine is the love of his life lets the brother manipulate his thoughts, blows hot and cold WHILE heroine is going through being cut off by her family because of HIM. So he’s not even supporting her mentally. Then he asks heroine if she’s using him only to annoy her parents in front of her brother!!!! Heroine lets it slide? And doesn’t dump his sorry ass? And how does he thank her? He is then discovered with his naked ex in his bed and HE dumps the heroine. Even though heroine believes him that he had nothing to do with a naked woman in his bed. She didn’t kill him or her. She didn’t throw hysterics. She called his brothers and dealt with it like an adult and trusted him and DEALT with it and HE BROKE UP WITH HER. And the next day he decided he can’t live without her when he let her walk out of their home, she had no where to go. She asked just that afternoon how sure is he about this because she’s cutting off all ties off with her family and would rather not do it if he’s not 100% sure. He told him he loves her but now he’s not sure if it’s gonna work anymore AFTER she HAS in fact severed all the ties. HOW CONVENIENT! she had to sleep on his brother’s couch, and he goes and blurts out he wants to marry her????!!!! WHERE. IS. THE. FUCKING. GROVELLING????!! Oh there’s more! Remember the mugging the brother keeps blaming her family for? Hero’s ex, who also climbed on the bed naked, has acquired a debt with the mafia for gambling and told them hero is her fiancé and any of her debt is also his and so they took out a hit on him! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. So the only reason the mafia let them go was because they believed the ex was lying as the heroine has told them that hero was her man. Trust me, otherwise hero and his whole family would be toast. Now the heroine said yes to that fucking non-proposal as long as it was presented as a romantic proposal! Are. You. Fucking. With me now? And the hero then complains that she never said ILY before? Ummm........🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ Where, let me repeat, WHERE is the fucking apology, let alone the grovelling?????????? For all the blowing hot and cold, the lack of support? The insults? And the dumping???? No! Just NO!

Could not get enough of the characters in this story - just loved them! While it is part of the Friendship Chronicles series, don't worry if you haven't read the previous stories as this is completely standalone. While the story did leave me wanting to know what happened with other (side) characters, they may possibly go on to have their own stories. Hope so as I'd love to read more of the O'Grady brothers.
Wonderful twist on the old Hatfield's and McCoy's feud! The Drummond and O'Grady descendent's have been feuding about something that happened a generation ago, but was reiterated by the current generation. When the youngest Drummond takes up with the middle O'Grady sparks fly. This was a wonderful read. The story built up to a great highlight and had a fantastic conclusion.

Our two people meet when one has a flat during a rainstorm and her brother has not fixed the spare when he borrowed her car.....she is stranded. Burning hot desires has Laura Drummond and Dallas O’Grady thinking of forging a permanent relationship but forces are at work conspiring to keep them apart in this riveting contemporary romance.
The feud between the Drummonds and O’Gradys has been around for generations but Laura has always admired Dallas from afar and now’s her chance to have the one man she wants and the reader can’t help but get caught up in their story as they struggle against family issues and emotional issues that is hindering their budding relationship. But there certainly is no problem in the chemistry department as their attraction sizzles with fiery intensity and the frequent sex scenes including light BDSM and spanking scenes scorch readers with white hot desire. The strong compelling characters grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning and the fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense and passion.
Their families aren’t the only obstacle creating problems for this fascinating couple, someone seems to be out to get Dallas and no one has a clue why and spine tingling excitement keeps readers on the edge of their seat as the danger escalates, not to mention that an ex-girlfriend is trying her best to get Dallas back. Laura is a heroine that earns admiration for standing up to her bulldozing family and there are humorous moments as well as she doesn’t take Dallas dominance outside the bedroom very well and has a mouth full of snark to deliver. The scenes and details are well written and the well orchestrated suspense and excitement draw readers in and refuse to let go until the reader knows every last detail.
I was completely enthralled with this intriguing and passionate story from the very beginning and I can’t wait to read the next one…of course since I haven’t read Part-Time Lovers yet, I get to go back and read it while I am waiting.
The Drummonds and O'Gradys have been fighting for many, many years and have nothing to do with each other. Laura Drummond has a flat tire and is rescued by Dallas O'Grady. There is instant attraction between them and they are flirting with the insanity that will happen if they get caught together. Bitter enemies. But not for them. They spend a couple of extremely hot days together. And then don't want to stop seeing each other. Laura's parents want her to marry someone who will benefit their social stanting. Unfortunately the man is gay. They are relentless the way they want to control Laura's life. The elder brother of Dallas goes off his nut when he finds out. Will these two lovers finally be able to be together? Such a good book. Loved it.
