The MacTavish men are wild and passionate. They marry for love.I don't. I may be a MacTavish, but it's not an emotion I'm capable of, one I don't understand. So, if someone in my clan must agree to an arranged marriage, it might as well be me. The bride being pulled down the aisle to me is beautiful, and terrified. But she's got a stubborn tilt to her jaw that's making me think she's not giving up so easily.
Perfect.
She's just the kind of girl I love to break.
~Cold-hearted MMC ~Grumpy x sunshine ~Forced marriage ~Age-gap romance ~Found family ~Highly effective groveling
Beautiful Monster is a dark Scottish Mafia Romance with no cheating and a HEA. While this is part of a series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone.
I have been following this author since the beginning, so I am quite attuned to her style… It’s both comforting and annoying because there are no more surprise. At first it went well Mason was cold and distant Afton didn’t let her coochie decides for her and even use the safe word to push him away She asked not to be call “good girl” and she betrayed him because of her dad I really enjoyed this part, because it was different… but then it all spiralled back to basics She is forgiven by being on her knees He fell in love without real reason She asked to be called a “good girl” 😒 Lot of spankings
I just wish we could explore the complexities of the MC… Understand why Mason fell in love out of thin air, grovel a bit for locking her away, stop doing BDSM shit to a virgin …
Beautiful Monster by Arianna Fraser is Book 4 of MacTavish Heirs Series. This is the story of Mason MacTavish and Afton Cavendish. This was such an exciting read. I am loving this series and Ms. Fraser's writing. Loved it.
“Beautiful Monster” is the fourth book in “The MacTavish Mafia Heirs Series.” This book is set in the brutal world of organised crime and these Scotsmen are not messing around - you will love the MacTavish’s! Mason’s parents are Lachlan and Aria. He also has two younger sisters, Erin and Eilidh. When an arranged marriage is required for business purposes with the Cavendish’s, who are in bed with the Matsumori Yakuza, Mason takes one for the team. He is the obvious choice. “You all get to have your grand passions and I... don’t care. I’ll treat her well. Set her up in a big house somewhere and see her as little as possible.” Afton Cavendish is twenty one years old and the eldest daughter of William Cavendish. She is well-educated and in her last year at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, working towards a degree in Microbiology.
A week later, Afton is summoned home for a “command performance” by her father as he has guests coming to town. The next day she is at St James Cathedral, her brother is in a tuxedo, her mother and sister, Lucia, are all dressed up….”So why are we here? If it’s for a christening or something, I’m a little underdressed.” Her father announces “You’re getting married. Today.” Slapping her, he advises that you “will marry Mason MacTavish. You will obey him and be a dutiful wife.”
Lifting her vail for their first kiss as husband and wife, Mason is shocked! His new wife is not merely pretty, she is beautiful, with wide, anxious blue eyes and elegant cheekbones. Her dazed expression turns into something harder, something stubborn. Perfect. Just the kind of girl he loves to break. “Hello, Afton MacTavish. I’m your husband, Mason.”
“There’s an insane, sculpted perfection about Mason MacTavish that makes him an almost unearthly beauty. Along with the height, and the muscles, he’s got thick blond hair, jade-colored eyes, and a firm jawline. He’s wearing the hell out of that kilt with a dark jacket and crisp white shirt.”
The story is very fast paced and full of twists and turns! You have danger, betrayal, love, tears, death, power, action and passion. The heat between Mason and Afton is off the page. There is never a dull moment! Is Mason is a bit more into MacTavish tradition than he’s willing to admit? Will he open up his heart and realise that he is capable of more? Will Afton be the one that can bring out his softer side, make him love someone with his whole heart…. This book is everything you expect from a dark Scottish mafia romance!
The story is full of passion, intrigue, betrayal, vengeance, power, control, twists and turns around every corner. There is never a dull moment - you will be hooked! The book goes through moments of the thoughts or possibilities that it could happen to, to extreme violence to the most beautiful tender moments! I’m very happily hooked! I did not want it to end! From page to page, chapter to chapter, I could not put it down - you will metaphorically be on the edge of your chair! Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊
I was waiting patiently for this book!!!! My favourite MacTavish is Lachlan and I was eager to read Mason MacTavish, his son. In the previous books in this series, we met him helping Arabella and Logan in a plot to find the bad guy. And he was the very opposite of Lachlan. He was the loose cannon.Mason is the practical, stoic, calculating man. No emotions, no fear, no expressions. You can’t read him.
For the first time in this series and the last one, with the older MacTavish, Stolen Brides, it’s an arranged marriage!!! No kidnapping, no forced weddings and I was not expecting that!!! And it worked!!!!
Mason is practically forced to marry Afton Cavendish for family reasons. It’s a business deal, as Mason put it. Keep her happy, say she’s pretty and make sure she trust you. But Afton’s father as other plans. He wants the MacTavish wipeout and Afton his is ticket to do that. Will Afton betray Mason or will she step up and choose Mason?
This story is more on how Mason will react to Afton emotional needs. And it’s putting him on a road he never knew he would have. And Lachlan snippets in the book are little pieces of greatness! I never imagined him giving love tips to his son and it’s just a aww moment 🫠
Now, who’s next? Micheal? Duncan? Maybe the MacTavish twins, sisters to Mason? I can’t wait!!! Congrats!
ARC Review for 'Beautiful Monster' by Arianna Fraser.
Ahhh, I just thoroughly love every book I have read from Arianna! And Beautiful Monster is not an exception. Still in the world of the MacTavish Clan, this time we follow the story of Mason, the one that likes to work in the shadows of the clan, but holds his own when in the field working family issues. A gorgeous specimen of a man, knowing how to school his emotions, the ones he thought he didn't have. But he also has rage that he channels through brute ways. But that is, until Afton comes in to his life. An arranged marriage, yes the MacTavish men like to keep things complicated, but their chemistry and banter is delicious! Afton coming from another crime family, but under the rule of her cruel father, comes off as shy and suppressed, but underneath all that, hides a fierce woman, ready to kick #ss. I really loved her. Their spice is also delicious, with Mason definitely showing his Dom characteristics, and Afton still new to everything.
Super enjoyed this book of yet another MacTavish hunk. Storyline flowed nicely and kept me flipping the pages. Well deserved 5/5 #arc #arcreview #arcreader #bookreview #bookrecs #booktok #bookgram #fyp #darkromance #beautifulmonster #ariannafraser @Arianna Fraser
This is the 4th book and it is awesome. This is Mason’s story, he is considered the sociopath in the family because he doesn’t have emotions He marries the h out of duty and for an alliance with her family. The h meets him on her wedding day, her father didn’t tell her she was getting married. They are total strangers. The H was kind and caring towards her but didn’t have feelings so she showed her independence by not engaging with him. Along the way, he discovered he loves her and would kill for her. The McTavish clan is still very crazy, especially his father, always good to see previous characters written into the plot. I loved this story. Looking forward to the next book. Fantastic ending.
Arianna Fraser has really impressed me. Mason is one of my favourites along with his Fater Lachlan.... Her characters are unique, funny and lovable... I definitely recommend
Afton and Mason. She is perfect for him, even if she has no idea that she's getting into an arranged marriage until she is delivered to the church. And does not want to get married. Which really is fitting for a MacTavish bride. No spoilers here but I loved this book! 4.5 stars from me. Arranged marriage Scottish Mafia family Delicious spicy scenes And wacky family members What more could you ask for from Arrianna Fraser
Every MacTavish man is my favorite MacTavish man… however Mason is currently in the lead. Had to fan my face a couple times while reading this book, he was just so hot. Also, I loved the fact that Lachlan was Mason’s father. He is honestly just so crazy and I love it. The fireworks killed me at the end. 🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I just finished reading "Beautiful Monster," the latest installment in Arianna's MacTavish clan series, and I have to say, it’s a wild ride! I’ve always loved how she portrays this quirky family, and this book definitely keeps that vibe alive. Definitely full of heated scenes and great characters.

This one kept me up late reading, because nothing that happened matched the standard tropes or what I expected to happen. I really liked this one, and it kept me guessing! Love the MacTavishes and the way Ms. Fraser writes them.
This is my second book by the author, and I must admit that I am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoy the book. The storyline is enjoyable and the characters and their sense of humor. Keep your attention. I’m looking forward to reading more by her.
And Mason and Afton are no exception. Mason begins to melt right from the start, and Afton grows and blooms, despite her upbringing and because of Mason’s attention and affirmation. Her betrayal was understandable, but I think she really got off easy considering the world she lives in. Fortunately, all’s well that ends well, and they get their HEA. If you’re looking for a fun, relatively quick, engaging read, you’ve found one!
Beautiful Monster Cat’s Stats MMC/FMC- Mason and Afton POV- 1st dual Genre- Mafia Romance (Scottish Mob) Heat- open door, explicit, virgin heroine, light BDSM. Series? Y (MacTavish stolen brides next generation) Safety? Y. The MacTavi don’t cheat. No SA. Triggers- violence, abuse, firearms, language in two languages, things that go BOOM, Lady Elspeth (who is a force of nature). Tropes- Forced/Arranged Marriage, Simply Mad About the Mob, Dear Sister, When You Do Wet Work Check Beneath Your Fingernails, Stoic Groom, Ebil In-Law, Hunkson and Chantilleee, Guest Starring the Yakuza. Mewsings This installment in the MacTavish saga starts out a bit differently than the other books in the series. The bride is abducted from her life, but by her own father who, for reasons of his own, forces her into a marriage with the nearest single MacTavish male. It’s also a bit different because Mason, the MMC, was raised in Canada rather than Scotland. His Scottish only shows some of the time, but fear not! When the inevitable remarriage celebration happens, as orchestrated by the inevitable Lady Elspeth, he wears a kilt, which makes my heart (and several other body parts) sing. Afton, who is forced into the marriage under threat of her sixteen-year-old sister taking her place, actually approaches her relationship with the groom with equanimity. She doesn’t take her resentment out on Mason, despite her world being turned sideways and the absolute spinelessness of her brother and a mother who is shallow (and as botoxed as my Aunt Candy) yet somehow lovable (unlike Aunt Candy). I liked Afton’s willingness to start things off with a positive attitude. She is intelligent and brave without being Plucky (mercifully, because Plucky is an adjective reserved for orphans and annoying damsels who toss their perfect hair a lot. Just like Zany is reserved for redheads and early sitcom characters). And she has enough grit to deal with the distant Mason. Mason, who is so blond and good-looking that he has a starring role in my hizem of book boyfriends because I am a shallow, shallow woman. Mason is very reserved for a MacTavish, which is really a clever form of rebellion against a flamboyant father who lives to cause chaos and make things go BOOM. Mason is convinced he doesn’t have feelings; unlike the rest of the rather delightfully messy MacTavi, Mason is very controlled in most areas of his life (with a few notable exceptions). But don’t think he’s unfeeling, despite his plans to handle his bride by making her compliant and dropping her off at a remote (but comfortable) estate. His feelings run very deep and come out in unexpected (and spoiler-y so I won’t specify) ways. Naturally, Afton doesn’t want to be “handled”. She comes into the marriage hoping they can work towards a strong marriage, or at least a respectful partnership. She is nonplussed when she discovers that Mason is deliberately manipulating her to keep her biddable. (Not that I blame her. Unlike Afton, I’d probably go all scorched earth, but then, I have no self control and am stubborn besides). While most of the MacTavi are rather lovable rogues (except Mason who is out of touch with his feelings, and the Lady Elspeth who is just plain scary), and scoundrels in the best sort of way (they can come and scound me anytime, just saying), not all Made Men are as fun. Cavendish, Afton’s father, makes the Borgias look pleasant, and Wyatt, Afton’s beloved bodyguard, betrays her in ways that are even more hurtful. Seeing Cavendish get his comeuppance, well I had the popcorn ready and the Rocky theme song in my head and was totally here for it. It was supremely satisfying because the man was so rotten. I liked very much the evolution of the relationship between Mason and Afton. Especially Mason’s realization that his feelings for Afton have become as deep as any MacTavish’s for his chosen (read: stolen) bride. The sexytime was totally hot that my ovaries sat up and begged. Arianna has a true gift for making every sexytime scene both memorable and scorching. BEAUTIFUL MONSTER is a delightful combination of humor, action, and sexytime. It’s an excellent entry in a wonderful series that makes the Mafia Romance genre fun. I can’t wait until Arianna’s next book.

BEAUTIFUL MONSTER, book 4 of MacTavish Heirs by Arianna Fraser
BEAUTIFUL MONSTER is another amazing tale about an arranged marriage, the Scottish Mob, action-packed danger, a page-turner with a twisted plot, wonderful characters and a strong family’s ties. Adrianna Fraser is an amazing writer!
This series is so intense in the best ways possible. Strong characters. Strong storyline. Intense drama and action. Everything you hope for in a mafia romance. Each one has gotten better and this one is no different.
Mason and Afron are bound by their lives to form alliances whether they want to or not. Family obligations, pressure, and more ensure a union of desire, danger, delight, feelings, secrets, and new beginnings!!
★”marriages and murders and the general mayhem that is guaranteed in the life of a MacTavish.”★
As the one of the three remaining bachelors of the MacTavish Clan, Mason volunteers and does his duty for the family by marrying Afton Cavendish to form an alliance. When an important shipment is discovered stolen, all hands are on deck to figure out who is responsible. While fielding all the things suddenly going wrong with their “business” dealings, Mason is not prepared to find himself beginning to care for his newly minted wife, who although young, soon proves herself worthy of being by his side. Good action and suspense, and I am intrigued enough to want to read the previous installments and any new stories of this series as well.
This is the 4th book of the second generation series. Even though each story is a stand alone, I recommend reading them in order. First of all they are all great and off the hook, second, the characters routinely pop up in subsequent stories. His parents and their relationship are talked about in this one, and you read their story in the first gen, it is fun to see where they are all these years later. He is the wild card in his family. His dad is known as the unhinged one and everyone expected that to be him. He knows there is something different in him, he has never felt things the way that others do, but he has learned some social masks. When it is announced that they need a MacTavish to wed into a rival family, he volunteers knowing that he is the most eligible candidate. She has always known her father would use her as a pawn but she has tried to stay as far away from his business as she could. When she is home from university for a visit, the last thing she expects is to be taken directly to the chapel and blackmailed into getting married to a man she has never even seen. While there is no denying he is a handsome man, this isn't what she wanted. But when he makes her panties melt and her thighs sing she knows she is in trouble. I really can't recommend this series enough. It is high steam while still delivering you a solid storyline. He is filthy talking, and sinfully indulgent. It will make your knees quiver as you read what he does and says. She learns to understand him in a way that no one else ever has. There is some mafia family drama to navigate as well as them finding their way in unexpected circumstances. You won't regret reading this one. The author has done some impressive world building in her series. I mean Scottish brogue and kilts....sigh.

Beautiful Monster is an addition to the Dark Scottish Mafia Romance Series which continues the story of the MacTavish clan by focusing on Mason, the sociopath of the family, who agrees to an arranged marriage with his unsuspecting bride, Alton. Their marriage of convenience is characterized by angst, humor, twists, and spicy passion.

Another great book. I only took one star because of the stupidity of the FMC I hate when they do something they should know better about! Aside from that this book had it all!!
This is Book 4 in the MacTavish Heirs Series by this author. It is an enemies to lovers romance between Mason and Afton. These flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an enjoyable read. What starts out as an arranged marriage turns into something more. It is a captivating love story with drama and steam, sexual tension and chemistry, danger and suspense, family dynamic, and twists and turns, plus appealing secondary characters. Seriously entertaining.
