Dreaux: The Corporate Assassin

Rate this book
By day, Andre “Dre” Boudreaux is the poised and ruthless second-in-command of Boudreaux Enterprises, negotiating multi-million dollar construction deals with a cold, calculated charm. But by night, Dre becomes something else entirely—a shadow in the dark, a silent executioner tasked with eliminating threats to the family empire before they ever come to light.

His latest assignment takes him deep into Milly Grove, a neighborhood buzzing with tension, secrets, and silent wars. What he doesn't expect is her—the prettiest problem he's ever seen. Sharp-tongued, street-smart, and fearless, she complicates everything he’s been trained to keep clean and controlled.

Now Dre’s balance is tipping. When the enemies close in from all sides, Dre must stay the course, or let his latest distraction become his deadliest mistake.

These Boudreaux men are something serious, you hear me? 😤I liked Zoo, loved Jules, but I adore Dre! 🤩
He lives, eats, sleeps, and breaths for the family, and anything that threatens them, they can count on seeing him! Although he loves what he does, his moral compass has started to come into play more and more. Having him seek counsel from his pastor grandfather and asking for additional prayers. The strained relationship with his mother is not helping his case either. But when duty called, he was quick to answer.

Learning about Denim, and what she was up to shocked me, cause what? 🤯 I didn't see that coming! While she has her sights set on the Andre Boudreaux, she is quickly conflicted. Is there more to this man? Do I have it all wrong? Girl...... 👀 All seems to be going well from her perspective, until game recognizes game. She realizes that the player got played, and now she's stuck! What do I do now?

Bri was adorable, and I loved how protective Dre was over her. After all was revealed, I wasn't sure how these two would come back from the chaos that was created. Could they come back from this? But love will find a way! 💓 Is Mimi next? Skip is not happy about the revelation at the end of this read, and I can see him finally speaking up about something. Hmmm.... Really enjoyed this! 👍🏿👍🏿

I thoroughly enjoyed Andre’s story. This was a strong 4.5 stars for me. Andre was hands down one of the funniest, most unhinged characters I’ve read in a minute. Lines like “I’m not a drive-in type of guy” and “If you want to get in these draws, you gotta wine and dine me” had me cracking up, but don’t get it twisted he will absolutely put a bullet in you with zero hesitation. Once a hit is out, it’s done.

What made this story hit even harder was watching a man like him, who had no intention of falling in love, catch feelings for the very person he was supposed to take out. Even knowing everything, his heart just wouldn’t let him go through with it. That tension between love and loyalty? So good. Zoo was solid, Jules was wild, and Andre… perfectly balanced between crazy and calculated

I thought Jules was my favorite but Dre took it. Dre is confident, secure, no nonsense, matter of fact type of guy. Dre proved its loyalty over anything when it came to the Boudreaux name. Denim thought she knew the truth about Dre but does she really?? I enjoyed the connection between Big Bri and Dre, it was too cute. This was a good mafia series and I’m looking forward to reading more from Nek Mills.

I wasn’t prepared for this love story. Andre is crazy but Jules and Wild are still the best and funniest. Big Bri didn’t play about Dre at all.

It’s really not often that a series gets better and better each book.

This had me on the edge of my seat LITERALLY trying to figure out what happened next. Denim & Dre know they carried on bad fr. They both were pissing me off but this really wrapped up so perfect.

It’s no way this the end of the Boudreaux family chaos ?😭

The Boudreaux men had me in a full chokehold. Zoo, Jules, and Dre were messy, loyal, and unapologetically themselves and I loved every bit of it.
Now it’s over and I’m just sitting here like… okay, where my new book baes at? Because these men got me acting like I need a refill ASAP 😭

(3.5⭐️)this got off to a very slow start and was in my opinion a slow-ish burn. Things didn’t really kick off for me until 60% in when the major plot twist was revealed. Overall I was bothered by the storyline of this one because One of the major themes across all 3 books is family loyalty & eliminating all threats. So I really couldn’t get with him forgiving Denim for being deceitful for so long & letting her live lol. But I guess that was the point, it was “out of character” because of love. BUT I also don’t know how/when they fell in love. It happens off page I’m presuming because the realization of their feelings felt abrupt. It had me looking around like when did this happen? The book was not short on drama, mess, humor and of course the found family. I enjoyed the incorporation of characters from the next series.

Y’all already know I love me an assassin with a conscience 😮‍💨 and Dre delivered that perfectly. The layers in his story gave me everything I wanted, danger, loyalty, and still a heart underneath it all.

I also loved seeing Denim come into her own. She realized she’s so much more than just a pretty face, she has so much to offer, and that growth was beautiful to watch. 🙌🏾

And Big Bri? Precious. So innocent, so smart, and the way she brought calm into her true parent’s life? Whew. My heart. 🥹

I love these characters but the book was a disappointment

I love these characters Zoo, boko, and Dre are wonderful! So I was looking forward to Dre’s story but I was greatly disappointed. The storyline was just too all over the place, the relationship between Dre and Dee never really developed so at was at a loss as how they were so in love with one another. I stuck it out to the end, but I couldn’t wait to be done with this book :(

“Sorry for your feelings, but not for my actions.”

If you are looking for an addictive urban romance trilogy to add to your TBR:

-cutthroat, assassin MMC
-single mom FMC
-relatable family dynamics
-strong villains
-forced proximity
-10/10 hilarious banter
-violence, murder & revenge
-double epilogue
-under 350 pages

This was such a fully flushed story. So much happened and I wasn’t even 30% in. I had no idea how Nek Mills was going to spin the rest of the story but, as always she exceeded my expectations.

Jules is my favorite Dreaux MMC and still made it to the top of my list in this book. But, I also see why so many people enjoy Dre the most. He was lovable, hilarious & unrelenting when it came to offing anybody. I adored his soft spot for Denim’s daughter Briley. The dad that stepped up and then some. His relationship with his grandparents, especially Sweets was one of the main reasons he became a favorite for me.

I enjoyed Denim’s story not being as traumatizing as the 1st two FMCs. It was a refreshing difference from the storylines and connections between the other MCs. I loved her familial relationship with her cousin Jerome. Him being the Unctie to his niece had me crying.

Beautifully done.

Nek Mills really did her big one when she created this trilogy.

Andre is absolutely unhinged—in the best and worst ways. One minute he’s bussin’ a dude’s head open without hesitation, the next he’s in church praising God like he didn’t just catch a body. The duality is crazy! When it comes to Denim, he had me all over the place. I couldn’t tell if I wanted to fight him or root for him.

Now Jules? That man is a whole mess and I loved every second of it. He had me cracking up, especially when he turned his ex into a bird—iconic and insane!

Denim… whew, girl. She had me ready to snatch my own edges a few times. The obsession was real and not in a good way. I’m just glad her daddy finally sat her down and gave her a reality check.

But the family? Top tier. Every time Uno popped up, I caught myself cheesin’. Shit I’m obsessed.!

This book had the chaos, the comedy, and the drama. Nek Mills definitely gave what it needed to give!

So much potential, but no

This book just didn’t do it for me. You have Denim, the FMC who is a federal agent which is not even believable based on her thought process and actions. Then you have Andre who’s supposed to be this scary assassin but it never gave nothing more than a man that can shoot a gun. Apart from the obvious grammatical errors, the pacing of the book was all over the place.
About half way through the book I became confused and felt like I was reading multiple stories in one. This book started feeling like it was AI generated. It’s as if the author had something going and then lost the plot and told Chat GPT to finish it. I couldn’t wait to finish this and I’m actually surprised I didn’t DNF.

Dreaux started a little slow for me, but once it picked up it really started moving and I loved Andre and Denim! And the storyline definitely had me thinking that I knew what was going to happen but switched up on me and left me with my mouth hanging open at one point lol! I loved the switch up because in my mind I was thinking a typical storyline but it definitely wasn't...but I loved how everything worked out!

The Corporate Assassin

If you’ve been following the Boudreaux Empire series, then you know Andre “Dre” Boudreaux has always been one to watch. In Dreaux: The Corporate Assassin, Nek Mills gives Dre his much-deserved spotlight—and delivers a gripping, layered narrative that balances power, danger, and unexpected romance.

By day, Dre is the embodiment of corporate ruthlessness, closing multi-million dollar deals with icy precision. By night, he’s something much darker—a silent, deadly enforcer cleaning up messes before they tarnish the family name. But when his latest mission leads him into the charged atmosphere of Milly Grove, he encounters Denim, a woman who throws all his carefully honed control into chaos. Denim is smart, sharp, and unapologetically bold—exactly the kind of “problem” Dre didn’t plan for, but can't stay away from.

The chemistry between Dre and Denim is magnetic, with their bond evolving in ways that feel both sweet and dangerous. Their relationship is a soft contrast to the otherwise high-stakes world Dre lives in, and it gives the story emotional weight without compromising its gritty tone.

One of the standout characters in this book is Jerome—easily the MVP. His humor, raw honesty, and ride-or-die attitude bring levity and heart to intense scenes. Every moment with Jerome is a win, and he helps ground the story when the stakes start to climb.

And let’s talk about that plot twist involving Denim’s baby’s father—cold doesn’t even begin to describe him. The betrayal cut deep, but Mills handled it with the right amount of shock and justice. The ending? Satisfying. Karma made sure the right people paid for their sins.

Overall, Dreaux: The Corporate Assassin is a strong addition to the series—gritty, emotionally nuanced, and thoroughly entertaining. Dre has always been a fan favorite, and this story proves exactly why.

Rating: 9/10
Perfect for readers who love: corporate gangsters, romantic suspense, high-stakes drama, and characters with both edge and heart.

I was looking forward to this one and sadly it was my least favourite. I enjoyed Dre but I felt like the developing relationship between him and Denim came out of no where. It was like oh we are spending time together then boom oh, we're in love with each other. It just didn't feel as natural as it did in Jules's book. I loved Jules's book; I think Jules is my favourite of the three, (although I was pleading the blood of Jesus every two or three seconds) and it's disappointing because I was really looking forward to Andre's book and just rounding off the series. Nek Mills is a new favourite writer of mine, and I'll definitely be reading more of her books, but I was just not as impressed with the love story in this one.

5 Star Dreaux....Nek Mills just gets it in every form...from the jokes to the pauses.....the best comment in the entire book was Dreaux saying that Denim's baby daddy is now Diddy Boppin in hell (wild and genius). How can we be more in love with this series? The Boudreaux family is everything special. While Denim was surely a little slow, I appreciated how she was willing to give up her life career for Dreaux. Glad her father gave her good advice. 5 Star Read....the book and the series.

Dreaux: The Corporate Assassin (Boudreaux Mafia Series Book 3)

This was the best book out of the trilogy. Why, you may wonder? Andre, the corporate assassin, and Denim, FBI Senior Special Agent were their oddest couple to fall in love. Big Bri at 6 years old and baby brother AJ at 2 months old completed the family unit. Welcome to the Boudreaux family business.

3.5⭐️🌶️🌶️ This book was written well and it was the least cringy and vile. It had some triggering elements but not very detailed. I liked the chemistry between Dre and Bri, but there wasn’t enough between him and Denim to me, maybe because it was a slow burn. I liked Jerome the beast, and his personality was similar to Jules. I liked the comedic banter of the characters even though they were facing heavy topics. All the villains got what they deserved

Highly recommend paying attention to the trigger warning. The way this story unfolds- and you learn the intention of certain characters it hit deeper.

And it’s because of that I hated the FMC. I didn’t like her methods of getting her arrests from the beginning. There’s no way anyone should do that as an FBI agent. And she had the nerve to get butt hurt when her dad called her out. Plus he’s a federal judge, make it make sense.

The story was told initially as if everyone blind about who everyone was- so when the unveiling of the truths start happening. I went back to see if I missed something to hint Dre wasn’t a complete idiot. I found the FMC to be selfish, especially when it came to her daughter.

The couple coming together and falling in love didn’t flow well to me. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t invested in the FMC from go. But it was almost as if they fell in love in one paragraph.

The deception and lack of protection for her daughter were the big no no for me. There’s no way my daughter would express unease with being around certain people and I still push her to spend time there. And in her case the context surrounding her daughter- her being a product of an affair would be even more reason not to have her around someone who doesn’t see it for me. She was frustrating.

Dre deserved more.

Can’t wait to jump into Skip and Mimi’s story.

Hands down my favorite of the series
Andre is a MAN!

He is exactly the kind of crazy that I like.
All those prayers and Bible verses before sending someone back to the maker…..yeaaaaa it did something for me.

this relationship dynamic was the most interesting and it lowkey had me on the edge of my seat like how tf is this gonna play out.

Denim was everything but a damsel in distress!! Baby girl was such a badass. I feel like she was exactly what this series needed to break up the energy of the FMCs.
I think the author did a really good job of showcasing how an FMC can have it all: the career, the man, the kids and all the other isms that make a HEA.

Alsoooo I love me a stepdaddy and a man that loves his granny. It really was always going to be Dre for me

Least favorite. Not enough spic. Not enough character chemistry building. Dre was cocky and condescending. The plot had too much going on. And there was no way Denim would have been able to keep her job.

Andre, the KILLA! Man, Andre can't catch a break. As the right hand man to his cousin and the family empire he's had to make some tough calls. Learning how deceptive and treacherous his father was in Jule's book had me hoping that he wouldn't be faced with tough decisions regarding his family, but Ms Mills said hold my beer. On top of that, he's got a woman with a grudge against him that he falls for. Andre Boudreaux doesn't do love. He let's every woman know what it is from jump, but Denim, she different. The thing that made me aggy with her though was she was doing a lil too much to get an arrest. I'm glad her daddy gave her the real about her job and the streets. For Dre, sleeping with the enemy wasn't on his bingo card, falling for her wasn't the plan, loving her and her daughter was never supposed to happen. A little divine intervention - maybe, but these two did it for me. Y'all, Wild, Jules, and Rome was giving life in this book. These three were pure comedic relief. Rome constantly pushing up on Skip and Dre was funny on so many levels. I loved me some Sweets and Pop, Sweets reminded me of my grandma frfr and one of her nicknames was Sweets. I hope we get a Noemi book because I really need to know the deal with her and Skip.🤔 Happy Reading Y'all!💋
