Dreaux: The Corporate Assassin

Rate this book
By day, Andre “Dre” Boudreaux is the poised and ruthless second-in-command of Boudreaux Enterprises, negotiating multi-million dollar construction deals with a cold, calculated charm. But by night, Dre becomes something else entirely—a shadow in the dark, a silent executioner tasked with eliminating threats to the family empire before they ever come to light.

His latest assignment takes him deep into Milly Grove, a neighborhood buzzing with tension, secrets, and silent wars. What he doesn't expect is her—the prettiest problem he's ever seen. Sharp-tongued, street-smart, and fearless, she complicates everything he’s been trained to keep clean and controlled.

Now Dre’s balance is tipping. When the enemies close in from all sides, Dre must stay the course, or let his latest distraction become his deadliest mistake.

These Boudreaux men are something serious, you hear me? 😤I liked Zoo, loved Jules, but I adore Dre! 🤩
He lives, eats, sleeps, and breaths for the family, and anything that threatens them, they can count on seeing him! Although he loves what he does, his moral compass has started to come into play more and more. Having him seek counsel from his pastor grandfather and asking for additional prayers. The strained relationship with his mother is not helping his case either. But when duty called, he was quick to answer.

Learning about Denim, and what she was up to shocked me, cause what? 🤯 I didn't see that coming! While she has her sights set on the Andre Boudreaux, she is quickly conflicted. Is there more to this man? Do I have it all wrong? Girl...... 👀 All seems to be going well from her perspective, until game recognizes game. She realizes that the player got played, and now she's stuck! What do I do now?

Bri was adorable, and I loved how protective Dre was over her. After all was revealed, I wasn't sure how these two would come back from the chaos that was created. Could they come back from this? But love will find a way! 💓 Is Mimi next? Skip is not happy about the revelation at the end of this read, and I can see him finally speaking up about something. Hmmm.... Really enjoyed this! 👍🏿👍🏿

I wasn’t prepared for this love story. Andre is crazy but Jules and Wild are still the best and funniest. Big Bri didn’t play about Dre at all.

Y’all already know I love me an assassin with a conscience 😮‍💨 and Dre delivered that perfectly. The layers in his story gave me everything I wanted, danger, loyalty, and still a heart underneath it all.

I also loved seeing Denim come into her own. She realized she’s so much more than just a pretty face, she has so much to offer, and that growth was beautiful to watch. 🙌🏾

And Big Bri? Precious. So innocent, so smart, and the way she brought calm into her true parent’s life? Whew. My heart. 🥹

I love these characters but the book was a disappointment

I love these characters Zoo, boko, and Dre are wonderful! So I was looking forward to Dre’s story but I was greatly disappointed. The storyline was just too all over the place, the relationship between Dre and Dee never really developed so at was at a loss as how they were so in love with one another. I stuck it out to the end, but I couldn’t wait to be done with this book :(

The Corporate Assassin

If you’ve been following the Boudreaux Empire series, then you know Andre “Dre” Boudreaux has always been one to watch. In Dreaux: The Corporate Assassin, Nek Mills gives Dre his much-deserved spotlight—and delivers a gripping, layered narrative that balances power, danger, and unexpected romance.

By day, Dre is the embodiment of corporate ruthlessness, closing multi-million dollar deals with icy precision. By night, he’s something much darker—a silent, deadly enforcer cleaning up messes before they tarnish the family name. But when his latest mission leads him into the charged atmosphere of Milly Grove, he encounters Denim, a woman who throws all his carefully honed control into chaos. Denim is smart, sharp, and unapologetically bold—exactly the kind of “problem” Dre didn’t plan for, but can't stay away from.

The chemistry between Dre and Denim is magnetic, with their bond evolving in ways that feel both sweet and dangerous. Their relationship is a soft contrast to the otherwise high-stakes world Dre lives in, and it gives the story emotional weight without compromising its gritty tone.

One of the standout characters in this book is Jerome—easily the MVP. His humor, raw honesty, and ride-or-die attitude bring levity and heart to intense scenes. Every moment with Jerome is a win, and he helps ground the story when the stakes start to climb.

And let’s talk about that plot twist involving Denim’s baby’s father—cold doesn’t even begin to describe him. The betrayal cut deep, but Mills handled it with the right amount of shock and justice. The ending? Satisfying. Karma made sure the right people paid for their sins.

Overall, Dreaux: The Corporate Assassin is a strong addition to the series—gritty, emotionally nuanced, and thoroughly entertaining. Dre has always been a fan favorite, and this story proves exactly why.

Rating: 9/10
Perfect for readers who love: corporate gangsters, romantic suspense, high-stakes drama, and characters with both edge and heart.

Andre is absolutely unhinged—in the best and worst ways. One minute he’s bussin’ a dude’s head open without hesitation, the next he’s in church praising God like he didn’t just catch a body. The duality is crazy! When it comes to Denim, he had me all over the place. I couldn’t tell if I wanted to fight him or root for him.

Now Jules? That man is a whole mess and I loved every second of it. He had me cracking up, especially when he turned his ex into a bird—iconic and insane!

Denim… whew, girl. She had me ready to snatch my own edges a few times. The obsession was real and not in a good way. I’m just glad her daddy finally sat her down and gave her a reality check.

But the family? Top tier. Every time Uno popped up, I caught myself cheesin’. Shit I’m obsessed.!

This book had the chaos, the comedy, and the drama. Nek Mills definitely gave what it needed to give!

So much potential, but no

This book just didn’t do it for me. You have Denim, the FMC who is a federal agent which is not even believable based on her thought process and actions. Then you have Andre who’s supposed to be this scary assassin but it never gave nothing more than a man that can shoot a gun. Apart from the obvious grammatical errors, the pacing of the book was all over the place.
About half way through the book I became confused and felt like I was reading multiple stories in one. This book started feeling like it was AI generated. It’s as if the author had something going and then lost the plot and told Chat GPT to finish it. I couldn’t wait to finish this and I’m actually surprised I didn’t DNF.

(3.5⭐️)this got off to a very slow start and was in my opinion a slow-ish burn. Things didn’t really kick off for me until 60% in when the major plot twist was revealed. Overall I was bothered by the storyline of this one because One of the major themes across all 3 books is family loyalty & eliminating all threats. So I really couldn’t get with him forgiving Denim for being deceitful for so long & letting her live lol. But I guess that was the point, it was “out of character” because of love. BUT I also don’t know how/when they fell in love. It happens off page I’m presuming because the realization of their feelings felt abrupt. It had me looking around like when did this happen? The book was not short on drama, mess, humor and of course the found family. I enjoyed the incorporation of characters from the next series.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved regardless of occupation! Skin trafficking is a sickness and illness😔 but real. Jealous Is an illness and being delusional can be a downfall! Let’s chat!

See we all heard that saying that opposite attracts. That’s exactly what happened here. See at first I was honestly lost on who exactly Denim was. Thought she was just a girl trying to have fun 🤭! What I didn’t was for get to be the ops 😔🫣! With that said, when us woman are feeling good and ourself you can’t tell us nothing🤣 and some use what they momma gave them to get what they want 🫣! That’s exactly what Denim did when working her cases! Honestly it did work for her but wasn’t the best way to work with in the agency. My honestly thought she was that girl 🤣 or so she thought. It all changed when went after the wrong one - Andre. One thing for sure and two for certain she played with the wrong one, but when that all came to head my girl had to reevaluate what she was doing or it could be the last thing she did. What really had me upset was her trifling baby daddy 😡! The way I wish I could’ve jump into this book cause IKYL!! One thing Denim wasn’t expecting was the instant connection of Dre & Briley! Let me just say how I love babygirl name🥰! As mothers when the next steps up & show out when the biological doesn’t, it’s a different but beautiful feeling to know your child is loved, accepted & protected! Oh can’t forget how he has her head deep in the mattress 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️!

Mr. Andre Bordeaux!! This man her fold me anyway he wishes 🥰🥰🤣🤣! Do you hear me! When I say this man didn’t hit his tongue, he didn’t hit his tongue for no one, well except his Sweets & Pops! Let me say the relationship he had with her reminded me so much about mine with my grandmother 😔🥹! Now this man didn’t play no game and didn’t provide any sympathy to anyone until he met her - Denim🥰! Now I’m not going to lie, I was at the edge of my seat wondering when he was going to realize she was the ops😒! Like I was nervous for my man! The way I was speechless when I realizing he knew from jump who she was. That’s when I had to think back to a previous book when they had to handle business with Paul 🫣 and the business card that was found. I honestly forgot all about that. Don’t judge me lol🤣! Then the issue with his mother! My heart hurt for him. Like she was so bamboozled about the truth, but one thing she forgot was who her son was🤭. I honestly feel she thought she was exempt from his wrath but was she sadly mistake! It wasn’t just him she had to worry about 😔🫣! What so beautiful to me was him accept his feelings and the love he had Briley! Listen the way he loved and gave her attention that she craved from a father’s love🥰🥰!

Skip, is my fav out of the Mills brothers. This man may not talk much but he was about that life! He was literally a man of few words. Now I can’t to get to those books cause I think he has eyes for Noemi Bordeaux 😍😍 and I love it! Skip was the one you had sleep with one eye opened 🫣! Then again there’s Wild! The way man had me laughing so much my stomach hurt. Like he had no sense at all! I don’t think this man has every prayer as much as he is now that he met Jules🤣! Thugs get scared 🤭! I need this one to find his match that can handle him! Oh let’s not forget how he handled someone why dancing and never missing a beat🤣!

Already now listen I know I’ve family hoped but Andre is book babe for me. Not switching again. He’s the one!! Loved everything about him🥰💋. The loyalty that he displayed was like no other. As stated in my other review Nek did her big one with this series! Definitely reading more from her catalog!

This was a fantastic read! Although Jules is still my favorite character, Andre’s story was phenomenal! Denim just knew she was finna hem Andre up but nopeeee surprised tf outta her 🤣. Dre was truly a great man. I loved the relationship he had with his parents & I felt his pain when he talked about the relationship with his mom. I definitely understood why he felt a way when Jules & Rosier were discussing how his mama needed to be handled. I would have felt some type of way too, especially seeing how Dre handled the situation with his dad in book 1. Dre is very loyal & for sure someone you wanna have on your good side 😅 I’m glad they addressed that issue because I love the brotherhood between those 3. I also love the bonds that they are forming with The Mills. Uno, Skip, & Wild were just as entertaining in this story as they were when they were introduced in the Milly Grove book 😂

Dre moved very calculated with Denim. He knew what was up and still proceeded. He definitely didn’t think he was going to fall in love 🤣 & was very adamant that love wasn’t in the cards for him. They had a lot of chemistry & it was easy to see when things switched for both of them. I did not see that shit with Bryce coming though 🤢 Him & his wife were sick af! Those disgusting individuals got exactly what they deserved.

Andre, Denim, & Briley have my heart 🫶🏾 I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Boudreaux & the Mills (Mimi & Skip 👀)

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Dre's book was so good and well worth the wait!! Lol, as the story unfolds, I had to go back and reread certain chapters with new eyes and a open mouth like, Gasp!

Fed Agent Denim- "I fell in love with the man I was supposed to be investigating."

Corprate Assassin Andre - "I fell in love with the f'in’ enemy.”

The Boudreaux men were a blend of unhinged and vigilantes. Example of not all heroes wear capes. They wear suits and ties with Glock 19s tucked on their waist and maybe a sacrificial chicken, but who's judging?

“Do you love my daughter?” “I do,” I answered without an ounce of doubt or hesitation. “How do you know?” “Because I don’t wake up in the morning wanting to put a bullet in her head,”

Now, Noami "Mimi" and Skip? I called it and Yes, please!

For a better reading experience, I recommend that you start with Dreaux: The Ruthless One
Dreaux: The Silent Killer.

Andre, the KILLA! Man, Andre can't catch a break. As the right hand man to his cousin and the family empire he's had to make some tough calls. Learning how deceptive and treacherous his father was in Jule's book had me hoping that he wouldn't be faced with tough decisions regarding his family, but Ms Mills said hold my beer. On top of that, he's got a woman with a grudge against him that he falls for. Andre Boudreaux doesn't do love. He let's every woman know what it is from jump, but Denim, she different. The thing that made me aggy with her though was she was doing a lil too much to get an arrest. I'm glad her daddy gave her the real about her job and the streets. For Dre, sleeping with the enemy wasn't on his bingo card, falling for her wasn't the plan, loving her and her daughter was never supposed to happen. A little divine intervention - maybe, but these two did it for me. Y'all, Wild, Jules, and Rome was giving life in this book. These three were pure comedic relief. Rome constantly pushing up on Skip and Dre was funny on so many levels. I loved me some Sweets and Pop, Sweets reminded me of my grandma frfr and one of her nicknames was Sweets. I hope we get a Noemi book because I really need to know the deal with her and Skip.🤔 Happy Reading Y'all!💋

If you’ve been rocking with the Boudreaux Empire series, then you already know Andre “Dre” Boudreaux was bound to shake the table. In Dreaux: The Corporate Assassin, NEK Mills finally puts Dre front and center—and he does not disappoint.

Dre moves different. In the boardroom, he’s cold-blooded, running numbers and closing deals like a shark. But when the sun goes down, he flips into something darker—the family’s quiet clean-up man, making problems disappear before they even hit the headlines. Enter Denim, and suddenly all that control Dre prides himself on? Gone. She’s fire, wit, and boldness wrapped up in one, and she has Dre questioning everything.

The chemistry between them is straight magnetic—raw, real, and addictive. I loved how their connection balanced Dre’s ruthless world with something softer, deeper, and more human. The drama, the danger, and the passion? Top tier. Dre's love for his grandma and later on for Denim's daughter was beautiful! I really loved that! NEK Mills delivered again, and so now I am hungry to find out about the Mills Brothers that was mentioned in this book!

Good end to a series

Nek Mills wrapped up the Dreaux series nicely. The plot twist was great — I loved the reveal that Andre had been watching Denim even before she considered going after him. I especially enjoyed how she tried to trap him but ended up falling in love instead. Denim was such a compelling character. While I didn’t like that she used her body to catch bad guys, I appreciated that she recognized her worth and didn’t need to rely on that to succeed. Big Daddy Judge fully supported his daughter, trusting in her intelligence and abilities as an FBI agent—not just her looks. Big Bri was adorable and brought a touch of innocence to the story. I loved the resolution of the trafficking storyline that’s been building since the first book. The side characters were fantastic—they brought life, energy, and laughter to the series. I’m hoping for more books set in Milly Grove, especially ones that explore the stories of some of the side characters we met in this book.

Loved this book!

I really appreciated Andre’s restraint in this book,he could have easily made Denim take a permanent dirt nap lol but instead he chose a different path. Out of all three, I think Jules is my favorite cousin/brother. While Andre’s personality was more on the reserved side, it made him stand out in his own way.

With Denim being an FBI agent originally trying to take down his family, this story had a lot of twists and turns that kept things interesting. One thing I didn’t like, though, was the number of errors throughout the book. It felt like the editor missed several mistakes, which was a bit distracting at times.

Despite that, the story was still good and entertaining. Overall, I loved this series and would definitely recommend it!

This book started slow for me and I to force myself to keep it going. But it got better especially when the action picked up. The characters are quite funny didn’t realize how much I missed them. I loved how Dre was with Briley I knew once he met her that he wasn’t gonna let them go no matter how hard her tried. I’m glad that everyone that was involved with the sex trafficking got what they deserved in the end. It’s quite disgusting the things they wanted to do with those kids smh. Anyway overall this was a decent book my biggest gripe is the grammatical errors sometimes threw me off. But other than better editing this was a decent book I definitely would recommend it.

When The Hunter Turns Into The Prey!
Nek Mills when I say I am so glad Shari Brown introduced me to your pen. I have enjoyed the Boudreaux family. My favorite is Jules cause he is a true nut. Andre though was just as special as Jules just in a different way. I loved how he didn't want to deal with emotions. Denim was an unexpected but expected piece to the puzzle. Meeting Skip, Wild, and Uno just added more to the crew. Denim had no idea she was gonna get what she got with Andre. They formed a bond that should never have been but laws of gravity pulled them together until they both had no choice but to be still and let love rule.🤗🤗🤗🤗

Dre + Denim

This was a great story! Book 3 did not disappoint! Both Dre and Denim stressed me out- but I’m so happy to see that they got it together at the end. I’m highly disappointed that Jules didn’t turn that Sandra lady into a bird 😂😂 Stalker much! I’m so happy Bunny busted her bubble - literally and figuratively! 😂 All in all- this story was well written, makes me excited for more! Spice lever is a 🌶️🌶️ out of 4. There are a few loose ends I’m interested in an update- is Nate still alive in jail? Is Mimi and ole boy about to be a thing? (Because who is this fiancé?) Nek Mills- you did your thang on this one!

Dre 🔥🔥

This was a great book from the beginning to the end. Demin and Dre come from two different sides of the world, but somehow, they find love while working against each other. The plot was everything, solving the bigger picture we saw in book 1. Jules is such a character, and it was great to see him and the others make appearances. Bri and Dre's relationship was so wholesome, and she loved him as much as he loved her. Now I am eager to read Skip and Mimi's story; hopefully, they will be next.

Boudreaux Mafia 3

Andre!!!! I was waiting for you! You are that man behind that scenes that make it happen! Now ya mama, she ticked me off big time! I felt like she got off easy. Since she was so worried about that “witch” & the zoo keeper, she should’ve had more time with them. Now Denim, girl you irked my nerves. I’m glad you got ya man but you went about it the WRONG WAY! At one point I wanted you gone. You only redeemed yourself when you chose that no matter what you loved him. Now my boy Jules made this book go to another level I swear!!!!

Just want to say I love Dre relationship with his grandparents, especially his grandma Sweets!

I had a review written, then decided not to post since didn’t want to give too many context clues.

Let’s just say there’s a lot of evil people in society in high places and home girl was barking up the wrong tree literally! Denim’s dad spoke facts when he schooled her! There’s a lot I had to say about Denim, but I’m keeping my opinion to myself 😂😂.

All I got to say is these sick individuals should have been fed at the “Zoo”!

Resilience and strength in the time of trouble!

Andre was on a mission in Milly Grove, never once did he think being there would lead to marriage and a family! With knowing all about Denim Atkins, he still walked right into it with his eyes wide open. He even took it a step further and married her! In the end love one. Bryce was a horrible person and he along with his wife got their karma for sure! The Boudreaux family is not to be messed with or underestimated! Jules as usual was cutting up, now he has Bridgette clowning too! Loved it!!!

I didn’t want to like Dre…..

His mouth and bluntness was vicious. His words cut. 😆 I did not want to like him…….but it happened. He got in. Bryce and Rebecca…..I don’t even have the words. Rebecca would have caught these hands on site…everytime not to mention daily wake-up calls in her cell from Big Mama and ‘nem on the (cell) block!
I was so excited for this book. Now……… onto Mimi…!!

This was such a good wrap up to the series of this family. Dre was def nothing to play with and he really showcased why. Denim out here thinks she got the upper hand on our guy and he out here trapping her before she could blink🤣

Loved how the loose ends of the trafficking ring were wrapped up.

I have enjoyed my time with these characters...it has been laughs with these hooligans and I can't wait to see what Ms. Mills has in store for us next

Good

I liked the book, but I'm conflicted. I didn't like how weak Denim was when it came to Andre. He was mean and nasty to her in different situations in the beginning. Especially when they were being intimate. She just took that treatment even though she didn't like it. I didn't like him at first but by then end of the book be redeemed himself. I just wished that she lipped off to him more. She was too eager to seduce and please him.

This book ate!

I have throughly enjoyed this entire series, but I must say that I’ve LOVED book3 the most. The plot was PLOTTING! As the pieces fell together I was screaming and kicking my feet. I’m one of those people that can predict a lot of plot points while reading stories, but I must say i was SHOCKED as all the bombs dropped in this one! I didn’t know how a HEA was going to happen and a time was had reaching it!
