Sasha Ward has been dreaming of this summer for six blissful weeks at her family’s secluded estate, Evermore, with her two best friends, Sloane Harding and Seraphina Fox. For Sloane, it’s her first time visiting the enchanting coastal town. For Seraphina, it’s a long-awaited union.

But for Sasha, this place holds shadows she’s tried to bury deep, memories of a childhood summer that left scars she can’t quite forget.

Between rituals in the middle of the woods and parties on the beach, Sasha, Sloane, and Seraphina find themselves drawn into a tangled web of romance and witchcraft, where every revelation brings them closer to truths about each other, and about their dark pasts. As whispers from those haunted days grow louder, Sasha faces an impossible confront the ghosts that have long lingered in the corners of her mind, or let them consume everything she’s built with the people she loves.

Salt is a coming-of-age thriller where magic, desire, and buried secrets collide, promising a summer filled with heat, heart, and unavoidable danger.

Thank you to Claire & Helen for sending me a PR package 🖤

THIS BOOK!!! OMG.
The writing is sl good, super engaging, descriptive but not too overbearing.

I love the friendship between Sloane, Sasha & Seraphina. The characters are well developed and each unique.

This book is super unique. A thriller, with witches, that is also a romance!

I loved the time jumps and the notes at the end.

The only note I have, is that the storyline behind the note leaver could be more developed, I found myself saying "who is this person again" When their identity was revealed.

salt- cleo sweetland🧂✨

well my booksta babes, have i got another autumnal, spooky szn read for you to add to your tbrs!😍👻💫

salt is a witchy, mystery thriller that feels somewhat cosy in the beginning… the relationships that sasha has with her friends sloane & seraphina are so beautiful & heartwarming. their love for each other is unmatched. there isn’t a single thing that they wouldn’t do for each other.

but one summer in particular changes everything… there is a darkness to the past that they wish not to speak of or to rise. with constant ongoings throughout the town of missing children that have remained a mystery for many years, putting everyone on edge, with no answers at all. one missing child in particular causes sasha and seraphina’s past to come back and haunt them leaving them no option but to search for some answers that they aren’t entirely ready to face.

there is magic, manifestations, spells, love, unbreakable bonds, tension, trauma and secrets.

the book is written beautifully, it is engaging and feels like home whilst also putting you on the edge of your seat in anticipation about what is yet to come.

evermore seems like a dream, full of good memories and laughs, a place in which i would love to call home..

the bond between sasha and jasper is clearly written in the stars with a friends to lovers match made and the spiceyness between them has clearly been a long time ‘coming’😏

but what secrets will unfold next in sage? the cliffhanger that i have been left with?😱👀 i am so intrigued and neeeeeed to know what’s about to go down!😮‍💨

More please .. cliffhanger!!

Book 1 : Welcome to the Sisterhood 🖤✨🌙🧂

An easy to follow dual timeline setting the scene & letting us build up a picture of their lives and what happened when the 3 best friends were kids and then going to present day as young adults whilst on their summer break, navigating life & pondering the future , throwing in love, a sprinkling of magic & some dark skeletons in the closet!
Nice little bit of spice 🌶️ thrown in too. Hoping the 2nd & 3rd to this trilogy gets darker & more intense after that ending .

Nice debut 👍🏼

Read on KU .

Only got around to reading a few chapters since starting so blitzed it over the last 2 evenings .

Perfect tune to add to the playlist : Sisterhood by Mackenzie Johnson.

Imagine three witches who are the best friends ever wanting to have the summers of all summer…. but there’s an underlying dark secret they’ve tried to forget that is creeping back into their lives and threatens to ruin everything. Set over the course of summer in a beautiful summer home called Evermore (hello Taylor Swift fans), the girls explore witchcraft, pursue love interests and the becomings of a coven. The book is set in a dual timeline eluding to something dark that happened in the past but is now coming back to haunt them leaving us on an almighty cliffhanger …..! This book is great for fans of cosy witchy books with an added thriller element to it.

The first book ‘Salt’ is set from the POV of Sasha who owns the Evermore family home. Although I have to say my favourite character of the three girls was most definitely Seraphina. I loved her ethereal, hippy vibes she was giving and really enjoyed her natural witchy essence. I did find that the book mainly centred around Sasha and Fi and not enough of Sloane however I’m hoping in the next couple of books we learn more about Sloane as with her troubled past, I think she’ll make for an excellent and crucial future character. I also really loved the character Eva and definitely wanted her to be my adopted mother or auntie!

The book was easy to read and I did enjoy the dual timeline throughout. I feel like this would be a perfect book for a new adult as there is a little bit of spice in there too! I thought the descriptions of the settings were beautiful and found myself wanting to be in the forest with the three girls.
I’m interested with how the story develops and how the mystery evolves throughout the trilogy.

A quote that stood out for me was “A wallflower in a room full of roses. But to me, she was the most beautiful flower in the garden”.

Overall I think you guys made a lovely first book, thank you so much for the copy of the book! Salt is available to purchase now and is also available on kindle unlimited!

Fantastic debut novel from Cleo Sweetland. I was swept away from the start, and was held captive until the end. I loved the setting, the characters, and the magic that weaved it’s way through. Perfect for fans of Alice Hoffman.

The story of Evermore has mystery, with a dual timeline to peel away the layers. It has ride or die friendships, friends to lovers, and witchy magic. It makes for a page turning read! It ends with quite a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see where the story takes us next!! Definitely recommend!

✨🌳🦌🔮 Salt — Cleo Sweetland 🔮🦌🌳✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

A huge thank you to @cleosweetlandauthor for sending me this gorgeous PR box last week 💌 I couldn’t wait to dive in, and wow… it absolutely blew me away!

Blurb:
Sasha Ward has been waiting years for this summer six dreamy weeks at her family’s secluded estate, Evermore, with best friends Sloane Harding and Seraphina Fox. For Sloane, it’s her first time stepping into the magic of this coastal town. For Seraphina, it’s the reunion she’s longed for.

But for Sasha, Evermore holds shadows she’s never been able to outrun memories from a childhood summer that still linger like ghosts. Between midnight rituals in the woods and parties on the beach, the trio are drawn into a spellbinding web of romance, secrets, and witchcraft. Every revelation peels back another layer of truth… and forces Sasha to confront the past she’s tried so hard to bury.

My thoughts 💭
OH. MY. GOD. That ending left me absolutely speechless 🤯 I’m still processing 😂

This is the first book in the Evermore Trilogy and it’s everything I could want in a witchy fantasy friendship, tension, suspense, and all the autumnal, mystical vibes. The last 100 pages had me hooked and racing to the finish!

Currently available on Kindle Unlimited, and one I highly recommend picking up this spooky season 🍂✨

One summer and so many secrets...

Sasha's happy to return to her family's mysterious estate, Evermore. She looks forward to spending the summer with her best friends Sloane and Seraphina. She has no idea just how unforgettable this summer's going to be...

SALT has tension, romance, witches (I do love witches!) and strong female friendships. It's a dark coming-of-age story but there's lots of light in the darkness. It's funny, touching and somehow very addictive! The story got me hooked from the first chapter: "And yet, even with everything that's happened this summer, I would never have expected that one of us would end up dead."

I really recommend this hauntingly beautiful romantasy!

What struck me about Salt is how beautifully it balances the coming of age story with supernatural suspense. Sasha is such a layered protagonist. On the surface, she’s your typical young woman eager for an unforgettable summer, but beneath that, she carries wounds that even her closest friends can’t see. Watching her navigate those hidden scars against the backdrop of rituals, secrets, and romance was mesmerizing. Cleo Sweetland’s writing style is lush, vivid, and hauntingly lyrical. I could almost smell the salt in the air and hear the waves crashing in the distance as the characters danced on the edge of danger. The novel reminded me of the way secrets from childhood can never truly be buried, they resurface when you least expect them. For me, the most powerful part was watching Sasha wrestle with whether to confront the ghosts of her past or let them define her future.

This was a surprising find for me! Not something I'd normally pick up but it was recommended by a friend. I really enjoyed diving into the world of Evermore. It has such a strong sense of atmosphere—coastal town with secrets and a dark past, summer nights, rituals in the woods. All the witchy, mystical vibes that make it easy to sink into. The characters were well fleshed out, and their ride or die dynamic was real.
The dual timeline slowly peeled back the characters’ past while building tension in the present. By the time I got to act three, I was flying through the pages—that cliffhanger definitely did its job!
Jasper and Sasha’s relationship was great, a lil friends to lovers vibe.
A solid debut, with friendship, secrets, romance, and magic woven through. Excited to see where the rest of the trilogy takes these characters.

Let me see if I can get this right . omg 😲 If you have not read this book I Suggest that you do. Sasha has a sister named salone every summer sasha goes to evermore, She meets her friend fi in the woods. fi teachers her some magic which she thought she could never do until this one summer. Her sister salone turned 18 so She was able togo to evermore When sasha went, all three girls learnt something that summer. Love oh boy there love alright I love the story line between sasha and Jasper the other girls all had love intrest as Well, but the way sasha and Jasper started out has me all wanting more if I could I would rate this 10/10 there suspence, magic and Love.
you won't be disapointed with this book . Highly reccomended.

There is something about how the timeline flows in this book that didn’t work for me. The progression isn’t very clear so I quite often questioned characters’s actions based on the fact that it’s only the beginning of summer.
There was something else that happened, which I guess will be explained more in book number 2 or 3, but the execution felt too easy and doesn’t bring anything to the story in this book. A lot of things are easily accepted and characters just carry on. I

I’m neither critical nor amazed by Salt. It’s a good debut novel and I might finished this series at some point in the future.

If you like magic, romance and a little bit of thrill then you will probably enjoy this book ☺️

I didn't know what to expect when starting this, as it's out of my typical genre.
I was taken on a journey of friendship, freedom, excitement, discovery, sex & magic.
The descriptive writing dragged me willingly on to the page with every page the girls took, being able to feel the textures and smell the coffee.
What started as a curious step in to a new genre, ended on a gasp where I needed to know what was happening.
The fact that this is written by two amazing women, and yet they blend so well that it appears and feels like one writer is, well- magic.

Salt completely swept me away! The atmosphere is intoxicating — summer nights, whispered secrets, and the kind of tension that makes you keep turning pages long after you meant to stop. Sasha’s journey feels raw and magnetic, and the blend of friendship, romance, and witchcraft hits just the right balance.

It’s moody, romantic, a little dangerous — basically my kind of book.

A strong start to the trilogy, and yes, I’m already impatient for book two.

SALT is a dark, intoxicating blend of romance, obsession, and redemption that had me hooked from the very first page. Cleo Sweetland masterfully crafts flawed yet unforgettable characters Nicolas, Judith, and Martha whose tangled lives create a haunting story of love and vengeance. The writing is sharp and emotional, the atmosphere is gripping, and the twists are both shocking and satisfying.
