COMPLETED SERIES!
The Dark Allegiance series must be read to avoid spoilers and understand who the characters are and where they came from! This is a DARK NOVELLA SERIES with HEAVY TRIGGERS. Reader’s discretion is HIGHLY advised.
Emily Klepp is a Western North Carolina native residing in eastern Tennessee with her loving husband and two beautiful children. She has been writing since she was fourteen years old as a way to cope with her anxiety. She hopes to help others be able to speak their truth by writing about topics that are considered too taboo for societal norms.
I love Luciana but her trauma is a lot to take in. This may be the most heartbreaking story in the series. I keep saying this character is my favorite and then I read the next story and fall in love with someone else. But since this is the last one... I think I can be confident in saying this story hit me the hardest.
If I am honest though this whole experience has been a lot to take in. I will definitely recommend this series but you have to take the trigger warnings seriously.
I received a copy in exchange for my honest review.
The last in the series. We meet Luciana, Parker’s sister whom we met in one of the previous books, she was missing for days presumed deleted when found she was barely alive.
Now, after some time she is still traumatised y nightmares, her therapist has tried to help but it all becomes too much. Fortunately, her therapist Gage gets there in time, they talk and it turns out they have feeling for one another. He owns the BD$M Club, Leather and Lace, he uses his professional dominance as a means of therapy. Luci is next introduced to another man at the club Markus who also has feelings for her. Their story and play continues.
Another quick read, with smutty smutness some around a Dom/sub relationship, so expect aspect of this. Mentions of SA. Read the trigger warnings.
This one is by far my favorite and the perfect conclusion to the series. I almost got worried at the end when Mikhail showed up because I thought he was gonna suddenly be thrown into the relationship dynamic, but thankfully he wasn't. He just seems like he'll become a great friend to everyone. I absolutely 100% recommend. Check TWs!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the 7th and final book in the series. Luciana is the main character and is seeking healing from trauma she experienced in the past. Gage is a therapist and part of his healing methods involve using smex and BD$M to help her heal. This is an emotionally intense story with lots of possible tr!ggers but this whole series is so good. I highly recommend reading them all.
The last book in the series, we get to see what happen after luciana is saved. Definitely read the trigger warnings for the whole series but for sure for this one. I feel like luci mostly acted how anyone would have when she met his ex. This entire series has me wanting to read more up on BDSM.
This review encompasses The entire Dark Allegiance Series.
Ruthless Bonds: Dark. Brutal. Vengeful. All things that bring this emotionally raw book to life for the readers. A story of revenge mixed in with survival layers this series. This book and series give off the secret society vibes, with spice that has the reader wanting to be claimed by the Bane brothers.
Merciful Vow: The spice does not let up on this one. Talk about a train ride. Holy lanta. Emily does an amazing job making the audience blush and the reader wanting to hide this book from their grandparents. There is no descreteness in this book. If you like stuff that makes you hot while still questioning your sanity then look no further.
Dark Reckoning: Emotional turmoil check, trauma? Check, violence? Check Spice? Double check. this book continues on giving us Nilah. I love these female characters as Emily always gives us some empowerment behind their story no matter how traumatic it is.
Sinful Deception: Here we enter Gianna's Story. Another strong FMC that comes to terms with her traumas and have the help of a couple men that will burn the world for her. Each installment making me question my sanity a little more and wondering what each of these men would be like and which one might be my favorite.
Corrupt Desire: Lets take a ride with Jeramy and Raelynn. Her life is anything but cush and pretty, but thats where Jeramy comes in teaching her to defend herself. When Raelynn's dad comes up with a devious plan. Jeramy will ultimately help save the day and give Raelynn what she really needs in life.
Brutal Reign: Dark and soul crushing delivered in a special package for us. Marcy is the main individual in this story. A strong sexy woman who has developed a side family and friendship to help during her time of need for support. Let alone the spice was intense, to say the least. Throw in some stalking and you got another banger from Emily.
Hidden Shadows: Lets dig in deeper to Luciana in this installment. Meeting Gage who is here therapist and a BDSM club owner. You can only imagine where this is going. And why can't I have a therapist like that. This book is hot as can be and I can't possibly do it justice without spoiling so I'll just leave it as this series is top notch and I need more from Emily.
📚📚📚 This is the last book in this series and truly what a way to end it!! Absolute perfection! What I wasn’t ready for was the instant tears in that first chapter…. The tears were flowing but I felt like Emily’s writing was so spot on with how people feel in those moments. My heart broke for Luciana but the further I read on I was so happy to see her trying so hard. I absolutely loved Gage and how he just wanted to help our girl heal and grow. The spice between Gage and Luci was just amazing and then add in Markus I was melting with the way they cared for her. Every time she spirals they are there to help guide her back. Without giving too much away, I highly recommend reading this series!! Always check those triggers first because these books get DARK!!
📚📚📚 If you like to read: - DARK - Heavy Triggers - Taboo - Spicy - Dark BDSM Romance … You should definitely check this out

Thank you so much for sending me a copy for an honest review in my own words. #giftedcopy
Well, heck this series was a page turner and Luciana's story was a fitting conclusion to the series. And, of course PLEASE read the TW for this last novella. She is one hard core chick trying to find her way in life after her near death experience. You may remember from one of the earlier books in the series. Having to cope with such trauma, she seeks therapy. Gage, her therapist is someone she has for some time fantasized about, but knew he was off limits....being in a therapist/patient relationship. When life begins to get too hard and Luci feels she has had enough, she spirals. Ringing Gage, she thinks she has interrupted a date night, which sends her spiralling further, so she rings her brother, Parker. This story is all about falling down, but picking yourself up again, and being stronger than you were before your fall. Luci has her life ahead of her, and when she realizes Gage reciprocates her feelings, and begins to show his affection she is beyond thrilled! Then....along comes Markus, a close friend and work colleague from his club Leather and Lace. Yes!! A BDSM club....sqweee!!! You will love the dynamic of Luci, Gage and Markus as they become a thruple!! Love this entire series of big bad Mafia men, making the sacrifices needed for their chosen Woman.
Luciana & Gage - Dark BDSM HealingLight Romance A short read, but a beautiful conclusion to the seven part series. This story gives insight on how trauma can torment and leave a victim so helpless that death is more enticing than life, because survival is simply too exhausting. Luci needs loving guidance that therapy can’t give her, and though therapy helped to some degree, for her it hit a glass ceiling. From my own experience I can agree with a statement made in this book… “Everyone deals with trauma differently. And each trauma is experienced differently.” Where therapy works wonders for one, for another it can be a death trap. What I loved the most about this entire series were how diverse the characters were, no two characters were the same, no in personality, not in experience and certainly not in their trauma. This series gives so many examples of how things can turn out afterwards, but also how each person finds someone or more than one person that is willing to work through the trauma-maze left for victim to navigate, which in many cases can be worse than the trauma itself. Again AEmily Klepp just gives a raw insight in a world many are shamed for even they never deserved to be treated in ways no human should ever be treated. And Emily does it with such realistic and emotional connection to the characters. I absolutely recommend reading this book and the series. Though I highly advise checking the TWs
I really liked this one. It was still 100 pages even though it was only 4 chapters but they were fairly packed chapters.
Luciana & Gage and Markus?? Luciana is Parkers sister that we heard about in dark reckoning. She is dealing with her trauma with the help of Gage her therapist. But when she calls him after a bad nightmare and she thinks she has interrupted him on a date. Luckily he get to her before she can really hurt herself.
Gage owns a BDSM club and Markus works for him but they also sometimes do scenes together and they think that it will help Luciana with her trauma. Which in a way it does once she get over Gage demonstrating on his ex. Luciana rightfully so doesn't like her and get Gus to do a little digging.
I have to say I have read a load of mafia / gangster book but this was the most genius way of water boarding I have ever come across.
I would have like for there to have been just a little more. Gage is the one that introduces Luciana to Markus and I would just have loved to find out if they continued as the 3 of them or just the 2. I did like Markus with her but I do kind of hope that they kept it as just the 2 of them.
Wow what a book after reading all them this one beats my original fav of book 6. This book you meet Luciana again but this time she's not on the brink of d***h, but she is dealing with nightmares and so much trauma from everything that happened to her she ends up in a episode where she calls gage who is her therapist but abruptly ends call as she thinks he's on a date she also calls her brother parker they both come to luci rescue tho. Gage is luci's therapist but really he wants more with her they both want eachother but Gage was wary of luci and how she would take him and his love for bdsm. Gage starts to introduce bdsm slowly to luci to find she actually loves pain which then increases. Luci finds out gages ex fiancee is at the club they go to and he does a scene with her until luci release her craziness and finds out the really truth with the help of gus. Read to find out what else happens it's just perfecto
What a fantastic series, I've loved every single one and I can't wait to read more like these.
Lucianna feels completely broken until she meets Gage, her therapist, the only problem is that she doesn't believe she has a chance with him, causing more pain.
One thing I can say about these books is while they cover heavy and dark topics, they also show so many different ways of helping the healing process. In this one, the main focus is around bdsm; bdsm can be an excellent resource or tool to help the healing process; I know for me personally it was, the boundaries, rules, trust and communication are the pillar foundation and that help to teach trust and the rest.
It's also a safer way to deal with self-harm due to trauma and CPTSD. There are many, many resources and tools, so books that give clear and decent explanations are always excellent to see.
Raw, heartfelt, and quietly powerful—this story is about surviving the unthinkable and finding light in the darkest corners.
After a devastating event leaves Luciana broken, her world is nothing but silence and shadows. Enter Gage—a man who doesn’t try to fix her, but instead sees her, pulling her gently toward the light she no longer believes in. Their connection isn’t just romantic—it’s redemptive.
What makes this story shine is its quiet strength. It’s about grief, healing, and the unexpected ways we’re forced to confront pain—both our own and others’. It doesn’t shy away from the hard moments, but it also doesn’t rush the recovery. The emotional pacing feels honest, the hope hard-earned.
Perfect for readers who want an emotional slow-burn with depth, vulnerability, and healing love born from shared pain. It’s tender, transformative, and deeply human.
Hidden Shadows; The Dark Allegiance Series Book 7 ) Have you ever picked up a series that just sucked you right in , in ways you never would have expected ? That had you falling in love with each and every character / couple from the very first book and where you found yourself completely immersed in the world the author has created ? And just left you reeling with so many unexpected emotions. Well Emily’s Allegiance Series is without a doubt that series for me . I honestly cannot believe we are already on book 7 . Man am I so sad to see this incredible series end. . Luciana and Gabe . Phew these two took me on quite that emotional rollercoaster. The trauma that these two experienced in their lives , the way they helped each other heal . Watching them fall in love with each other truly was such a beautiful thing
Talk about a gripping finale! This last book in the series dives deep into Luciana’s experience, and it's an emotional ride. Having seen what she went through in previous books, it’s incredibly satisfying to finally get her full story. Her connection with Gage, who happens to be her therapist, quickly becomes the heart of the book, showcasing how profound healing can occur when you find someone who truly understands you. It’s intense, but completely captivating. The addition of Markus into the mix adds another layer of intrigue and support, completing a dynamic that helps Luciana find her power. This book truly highlights how resilient people can be, even after facing immense trauma. It’s a powerful conclusion that wraps up the entire series beautifully, leaving readers with a strong sense of closure and satisfaction for all the characters they’ve followed.
Read your trigger warnings! Poor Luci that girl is TRAUMATIZED. I would say more so than all of the other girls in this series. Her fight or light mode is stuck on flight mode. Then Gage waltz’s in with his supportiveness, strength, and weiner and then all seems right in the world. I love how he’s so just like “listen woman, this is not here happening” and she’s like “yes sir.” The amount of rage I felt when Paisley walked on the scene 😤 I would’ve pushed that bitch in traffic. The revenge 😂😂👏🏻👏🏻! Sweet Marcus, the voice of reason lol. This book, being the final one in the series, definitely felt like all of the old chapters of life for all the characters have closed and new chapters are being written. Loved this series! Lots of pretty much everything lol. 10/10 would recommend.
DDAAAMMMNNN!!! it goes without saying but check your triggers. This is the last of the novellas in the series and boy did this baby go out with a BANG!!! This is Lucianas story, Parkers sister. She is trying to cope with her trauma and has fallen for her therapist Gage. There is so much more to this man then on initial glance. So much more to Luciana as well. We learned so much about her past that even Parker didn't know. Gage took over for Dante and Co, runs his own BDSM club and is partners with Marcus!! There men are BEASTS and have no mercy. Luci helps Gage with his past trauma of his ex fiance and losing his unborn child. Paisley got what she deserved. Luci is one tough, badass chick. Great ending to the novella series!!!
This is the final story in the series. You are now getting the story of Parker’s sister from the second story. Luciana traumatized after being kidnapped, sA, and almost unalive. She is seeing a therapist who she also fantasized about.
Gage the hot therapist. He is also the one who took over for Dante so he could have his happy ending. He owns a BDSM club. He has had feelings for Luci too.
After all the feelings are out in the open, we get to meet Markus. He wants her too but will respect the boundaries. We end up meeting Gage’s ex who is a real piece of crap. Luci is a lot stronger than everyone thinks. There is more childhood SA along with her attempted murder and SA. In the end we all get our happy ending.
Luciana's story was the perfect way to end this series. I love how they all connected, and I got to know all the characters before their books. It worked so well. Luciana's trauma wasn't handled the way the other girls was. She was angry and suicidal, which is a terrifying combination. Gage and Markus did the best thing for her. Get her out of her own head, even if that ment f***ing her into oblivion. She was fragile, but not like porcelain, but like a grenade. She needed the roughness and the pain to learn how to cope and heal. One thing I love about this author is the way she has her characters deal with their trauma. Everyone is different and she makes her characters healing unique to them and their situation.
WOW what an incredible ending to the Dark Allegiance Series. Book 7 Hidden Shadow was WOW!! This is the FMC Luciana story. She had a situation where she disappeared and was found barely alive. Due to this she is severely traumatized. She has nightmares, flashbacks and everything poor thing is going through hell. The she meets the sexy therapist gage who had a BDSM club and uses his professional Dominance to help her heal and overcome the trauma that haunts her so badly. Then with a turn of events happen she meets a man at the club that i would say is crazy over her Marcus!! This as an amazing end to this series.Emily Klepp totally outdid herself I have to have his one in paperback i loved it so much!! Thank you so much for letting me have the honor of reading this!!
This is the 7th book in this series. This is Luciana's story she is parkers sister. Luciana has a lot of trauma and she tries to deal with it the wrong way. Gabe is Luciana's therapist who she is secretly in Love with but does he feel the same way you will have to read to find out. Gabe has his own trauma because of a horrible ex girlfriend but all isn't what is seems and karma definitely gets hold of her. I have absolutely adored this series so much every single book has had me gripped from the start I loved how fiesty all the female characters are and they don't let their trauma define them. I also love how caring the male characters are and how devoted they are to their women.
I read what happened to Luci in a previous book, poor girl. Parker, her brother, had her start seeing a therapist friend of his, Gage. Luci and Gage fell for one another, whether it was right or wrong, whether not was ethical or not.
Gage helped her and used some BDSM techniques to help give her back the control she lost. He was a strong and steady pillar for her, but also demanded that she stand on her own and not get to the point she cannot function without him, while being there to support and catch her.
I like the surprise twist about Gate's past, would like to have seen more of Mikhail. All in all, a good novella.
Talk about a way to end a series, watching Luciana get her ever after was just what the readers needed. At the start of this book, the reader is completely immersed in the pain and trauma that Luciana is trying to manage. But when she is with Gage, you can see the storm calming and her seeing a light and a way out. Gage is ultimate alpha cinnamon roll, he will do anything to help Luciana and is willing to push her boundaries to help her heal. Then there is Markus, who is the perfect third to even them out. I also loved that the main characters went to a BDSM club, it was unique twist and with all the other plot surprises, it just helped this book end on just the right note.
CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING THIS ONE. This book is pretty heavy right from the start. I honestly wasn’t expecting Luciana to have me in tears in the first chapter, but she did. This story was probably the most raw and emotional one of the series. But by the end, thanks to Gage and Markus, there was hope for overcoming the trauma. I felt like her actions in this story were very real and were probably how I would have reacted in those situations, which made me feel very close to her character. This whole series has been amazing. The stories were each unique, but tied together so well. Highly recommend reading not only this series, but checking out more of this author’s work.
This is the seventh and last book in The Dark Allegiance series. I am so sad that this is the last book in this series! I have become so enamored with these characters. I am happy to see that a previous FMC has finally received her story. I have to say this story was the greatest ending to this series. The FMC has dealt with so much and to finally see her happy ending was so gratifying! I am loving the age-gap and BDSM vibes in this story… Thank you, Emily Klepp, for a brutal, spicy and satisfying end to this unhinged series!! It couldn’t have ended in a better way. I am now a devoted Kleppomaniac…
Book 7 is Hidden Shadows. This one is Luci's story. I think out of all of these this one has touched the hardest. This girl has been through the very depths of hades and how she's still standing is only a testament to her strength. Gage and Marcus are exactly what she needs and the way they support her and build her up is just swoonworthy. This interconnecting series of novellas is absolutely fantastic. Again, check the trigger warnings before you start reading this series. And remember, they're interconnecting so make sure to read them in order.
"I am choosing to be happy in spite of all the awful things that have happened to me in my lifetime."
This book is classified as Dark BDSM Romance, and is book seven of a connected series. It does have a trigger warning list: grape, gang grape, unaliving, genital mutilation, revenge grape, mention of stillbirth, mental health rep, other woman drama, CNC .
The book is written in first person. This book follows one person: Luciana. She has severe PTSD and goes to a therapist. She is also Parker's (book three) sister.
I felt for Luci. She experienced a lot of trauma. Gage is just what she needs. Not just because he really cares for her but because him being in control allows her to not have to try to be tough. He protects her. These two are great together. You throw in the mix Markus, and you really turn up the heat.
This final book in this series ends on a high note. I loved this book. Who doesn't love a "Daddy Dom". Again, with this series, there is a scene that may be rough for some readers, so beware. Yet, if you have read all these books, you will be happy with this book.
-Therapist/Patient -Age Gap -First Person POV: Single -BĎŚM -Partner Sharing
For the final book in this series it was such a good wrap up. I am so glad Luciana got her story told. She’s been through so much and she deserves nothing but good things. And I think Gage can give that to her. He’s already shown how much he cares and I love it. It almost felt like this was the shortest of the series but it was definitely my favourite.
Like every book in the series, don’t forget to check the TW’s prior to reading! I definitely recommend!
Luci has been absolutely traumatized. She is attempting to over come all the triggers in the world but she can easily slip into the memories and wish for the end.
Daddy Gage to the rescue. He is a therapist and uses BDSM to help people heal. Gage has some things in his own past that he still needs to overcome as well. Together they can overcome.
F**? me like you hate me is big in this one. Plus with more massive peens and her love of pain they are perfect together.
