The Springs #4

Midnight Springs

Rate this book
The only reason Bria Sheridan was at the Springs resort was to save her grandmother from being swindled out of all her money. And the only reason she agreed to stay and give the place a chance was because she loved her grandmother. That and…she didn’t really have any other place to go. In fact, if she didn’t turn in a killer photo assignment, she’d lose her job completely.

Head chef for the resort, Jax Carver never stays in one place very long, and it’s about time he thought about moving on again, especially since he’s starting to care about the people he’s met in Cedar Springs. But before he goes, he might as well help the dark haired, beauty who clearly has a chip on her shoulder that he’d love to knock off.

Bria needs a photo spread that will save her career and Jax can help her get it. What she doesn’t need is the undeniable attraction between them, unless of course they can both keep it casual with no expectations. And that’s a lot to gamble on, especially since neither of them are counting on having any real feelings. But when those feelings are put to the test, will their connection be strong enough to save them? Or will the chance for love be lost for good?

This is the first book that I've read by Elena Aitken and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm looking forward to reading more books by her.

In this story Bria is trying to save her grandmother from spending all of her money on the so called health benefits of the springs near a hotel/spa that she's been staying at for weeks now.

From the very minute Bria meets Jax there are sparks flying and not necessarily in a good way. All Bria sees is someone that her grandmother is blindly trusting and Bria is not okay with that.

Jax finds it humorous that Bria bristles every time that he is around and for some reason he also finds her behavior attractive. He doesn't want anyone or anything in his life that will tie him down so he's trying his best to stuff his attraction for Bria down, but it's difficult considering he is showing her all of the local sights.

Can they keep their relationship simple and without strings? Or are they kidding themselves?

I was given an ARC of this story for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

I enjoyed another romantic holiday at the Springs! The only tough part was having to come back to my real life afterwards!

I love that I am starting to feel at home in Cedar Springs. Each book makes the town more real and I am always sad when my visit is over. I was looking forward to Jax and Bria's story, as we were briefly introduced to the characters in the last book. I found their romance was a little steamier than some of the others - but I guess that's what happens when you get involved with a chef! They had real chemistry and it was fun watching their romance unfold. Plus, the food Jax makes sound amazing. I found myself wishing I could head to Stillwater (his restaurant) for dinner.

I can't wait for my next visit to the Springs! (and if Trent doesn't propose to Samantha soon, Elena is going to hear from me!)

The first time Jax Carver sees Bria Sheridan she is pitching a fit in the lobby of The Springs and he isintrigued. Bria is upset because she thinks her Grandma is getting cheated out of her money. With no where to go, a deadline for her job and because her Grandma won't leave, she agrees to stay and give The Springs a chance. Jax is the chef who can't focus because for the first time in his life he has meet a woman that he can't forget. A new job in L.A., a chance for a great review from a critic, will he give up everything for her? I love the Spring, I feel every time I read a new book I am meeting new friends and reuniting with old ones. I would highly recommend this book to everyone. Ms. Aitken is a Super Star author!

I have received this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion. Just like all the other books in the Springs collection this story does not disappoint.

At first glance Jax and Bria have nothing in common except that neither one are "relationship material". The power of the Springs works its magic on them, and even the trials they endure cannot overcome this magic.
"" ....make you believe that this,” he waved his hand, “and us…that we’re worth fighting for. And we are, Bria.” .... She shook her head and tried not to laugh because it would be a panicked, crazy laugh and she knew it. “But I totally agree with you.”"

If your a fan of Elena Aitken or if your new to her writing you will not be disappointed.
Its a perfect Love story about Bria and Jax. Bria comes to the Springs to get her Grandmother Mona, thinking that she's being taken advantage of. Meets the head Chef Jax. They don't believe in Love and fight what there feelings from each while Jax takes Bria around to get different pictures for the Magazine she works for to try to save her job. It's beautifully written. Elena Describes the sites and makes you want to visit that place. I was giving a copy for an honest review.

Yet again Elena creates a place where anyone would want to spend a holiday. Revisiting the characters from her "Springs" series, we are once again taken to where you can kick back, relax and enjoy an afternoon of reading luxury resort style. :) My favorite part about her books is her commitment to character. Although some of these characters have spanned two different book series, they never get stale. In this book, see the sparks fly between Jax and Bria (grand-daughter of our favorite nosy grandma, Mona)! I received an advanced copy of this book with the expectation of an honest review.

Jax Carter and Bria Sheridan both keep their distance when is comes to building relationships. For Jax, it's because he moves around a lot to newer and more challenging restaurants where he is chief chef. Plus, he considers relationships more trouble than they are worth. For Bria, she's been hurt enough and does not want to put herself in that kind of pain again. But, when they are together, there is a strong, almost magnetic pull between them that neither one wants to acknowledge may be more than just simple attraction.

Elena Aitken is a beautiful story teller!! I love her style and her stories. This one especially touched me. It's a charming love story with all the new feelings of falling in love for the first time. I've read some books where all the angst of a troubled relationship is really unbelieveable. This book just felt real! And for first time in a long time, I cried at the end.

I really enjoyed the 4th book of the Springs series, Midnight Springs by Elena Aitken. I can somewhat relate to these books as my husband and I met in Lake Louise many years ago working at a hotel. The story is a great pace and you don't want to put it down. A story that you can finish in a weekend and escape for a little while to the mountains.

This was an early read, andi'm glad i read it! I was not disappointed in Bria and Jax's story. I love the Springs, and found this book to be one I didn't want to put down. My only drawback was a couple of the words used, they caught me off guard. However, a few words not in my vocabulary would not discourage me from reading this series. LOVE these books!!

Another hit for Elena Aitken! Jax and Bria are two lost souls who don't believe in love , lasting friends, and happiness or at least not for themselves. Can they find what they have been missing in their lives?

Midnight Springs was an awesome addition to Elena Aitken's Springs series. Bria is a feisty, stubborn yet wounded character. She is not wounded like she was abused but she is more of a pride seeker, and she didn't get that throughout her life. She is bent on saving her grandma , a most beloved character, from the money sucking people at the springs. Jax is a man who stays away from roots and getting to close and comfy. As you can tell, Elena worked her magic, and as these two lost characters come together to be found, wonderful times, laughter, friendships and longing ensues. Great book! Nice, warm and cozy read.

Good read

Jax and Bria's story was another good one. All though I'm kind of getting bored with the same old "girl is too focused on work to love, and guy is either too busy or just straight up doesn't believe in it" storyline. I hope the rest of the books in the series start to change it up a bit. I LOVE Mona. She is the perpetual loving grandma to everyone she meets. She has been a great addition to the list of characters in the last couple books. I hope she makes at least an appearance throughout the rest of the series.

Sweet addition to the Springs that will leave you wanting more!

Elena did a wonderful job telling Jax and Bria's story. The chemistry between them was realistic and very steamy. It was great catching up with some of the people in previous stories as well. Mona, as in previous stories, made me laugh and had me loving her even more. Great addition to the series that everyone should check out.

The only reason Bria Sheridan was at the Springs resort was to save her grandmother from being swindled. The reason she stayed was because she really doesn't have anywhere else to go. If she doesn't get some good photos she may not even have a job!

Bria needs a photo spread that will save her career and Jax can help her get it. What she doesn’t need is the undeniable attraction between them.

I have loved each and every one of these books!

When Bria the Ice Queen meets Sexy Chef Jax the temperature rises and two lost souls that don't believe in love and forever come together and find each other. Bria's grandmother Mona makes another appearance and she's a fiesty old lady and a great character.....I'd love to see her find her match (maybe that should be her miracle from The Springs)......this book is another great addition to The Springs series
