I read this in high school, and more of hers in college - I was so impressed with her writing about life on a farm, and making it come so alive, that I wrote her a letter. I corresponded with her for several years, and then lost touch. last year, Leah and I traveled through the area she wrote about, bittersweet.

I'd forgotten how very much I'd always enjoyed her writing. She has a lovely way of putting things in perspective, and dredging up old memories. Glad I found the book again.
