Jovani Bendetti has lived carelessly all of his life. Born as the second identical twin, he’s the baby of the bunch and often acts as such. Twin B spends his days club hopping, shopping, and having his way with the women of his hometown, Ausnor Beach, Florida. Since his brother Jeovanni has reunited with his long-lost love and children, Jovani starts to think that maybe the fast life isn’t for him anymore. When he and his twin brother bust a trafficking ring, the last thing Jovani expects to find is the one human that forces him to hang up his player ways. Some would call his slick mouth and recklessness the result of having mommy issues, but Jovani couldn't care less about the woman who brought him into this world. He's moving around while Melissa Bendetti is chasing her baby boy down. Being used to taking what he wants without repercussions, Jovani has no shame in the unethical act he committed to ease the hole in his chest. With the Italian mafia on his and his brother’s neck, love is the last thing he needs, but he finds himself in so deep that even his big brother can’t dig him out. Voyage Ridley is walking the earth with no direction. Her life has no meaning, and she only finds joy underneath her blankets or when her feet are stuck in the sand. If it weren't for her only family, a cousin named Baela, and the waters that surround the place they call home, she would have gone off the deep end months ago. The only person who can relate to the silent battle she is fighting is nowhere to be found, leaving her with a broken heart and a ton of responsibilities. Her life turns completely when Baela convinces her to ditch the beach and the bed for a night at the Pleasure Pad – Ausnor Beach’s number one adult night club. A drunken night ends up being everything she thinks she didn’t need. What happens when the hot-headed player snatches up the book-reading, depressed pretty girl? Find out in book two of Our Mother’s Sons.
Some parts of the book was better than others. I really didn’t like Atlantis’s first words nor that she called Voyage that instead of momma. Jovani and Voyage were good together and Dutton deserved a worse ending than he received.
Bestie… whew. I finished this book and just laid there like…so this is what love, laughter, and trauma healing in the club feels like? 😭💅🏾
This is book two in the Our Mother’s Sons series, and listen—you absolutely need to read Jeovanni’s story first. Not because you won’t follow the plot without it, but because the family drama, the danger, the depth hits different when you know what these men been through. This one picks up right where book one left off—after the Bendetti twins (aka the Kings of Ausnor Beach) shut down some deep, dark mess that was lowkey too evil to even name. And in the middle of all that? Jovani stumbles across a baby.
Yes, sis. A literal infant. And what does this emotionally unavailable man with trauma, money, and beef on his back do? He adopts her. 😭 The way he named her “Girl” because he wants her to choose her own name when she’s older?? I was GONE. Fatherhood found him, and baybee, it cracked his whole heart wide open. Watching Jovani try to change diapers, pick out bows, and figure out how to do Black baby hair?? Hilarious. Adorable. Real.
But don’t get it twisted—this book ain’t just soft lullabies and bottles. The heat? Whew. Enter: Voyage. The curvy, mysterious baddie he meets in a club at the end of book one. Their first night? Tension thick. Chemistry immediate. But when I say she haunted his mind after that?? Yeah. She was the itch he couldn’t scratch.
Now here’s the part I won’t spoil—but just know that Voyage is so much more than the brokenhearted beauty she first appears to be. Her story unfolds layer by layer, and every page had me clutching my chest and whispering “oh nooo… oh hell YES.” What she’s been through? Deep. Dark. Dangerous. But she’s still soft. Still worthy. And still open to the idea of real love—even if she’s scared of it.
And Jovani? Baybee he stepped up in ways I didn’t see coming. This man protected her. Loved on her. Showed up for her. All while dodging bullets—literal and emotional ones.
The spice? 10/10. The banter? Chef’s kiss. That beach scene? Bestie. I’m still recovering.
And through all the heat and heaviness, this story still gives us light. We get laughs. We get healing. We get family moments that had me cheesin’ and tearing up at the same time. Watching the Bendetti brothers grow into men, lovers, fathers, and protectors? It’s giving legacy love. And the ending? So satisfying. Everybody got what they needed—and honestly, deserved. 5 outta 5 stars.
A found-family, full-circle, emotionally juicy ride. READ THIS. Trust me.
Similar to Book 1, surprised yet not surprised by the outcome of Voyage & Jovanni’s “Pleasure Pad” private party rendezvouses 🤭‼️Nevertheless, “Our Mother’s Sons: Jovani Bendetti was more comical than adventurous, thriller & or urban drama. Thereafter, the shero & super stars of this book & series was grandma Nixon & Atlantis. While baby Atlantis was latter character, she still garnered honorable mention for hilarious parity outbursts. Finally, Grams, twins Jeovanni & Jovanni accepted all or nothing. It’s time to exit the game …we come to the end of the road ✌🏿‼️Now, it’s time for everyone to enjoy their spouses, children, wealth & their lives as a family unit, alive, well & together 😊. Cool beans‼️
Von had me weak! That mouth is straight reckless and funny as hell. I wasn’t ready for how this story went down—it had me locked in from start to finish. And Grams? Yeah, she don’t play at all. She did her big one, and I was here for it.
I’m real happy for both twins. Their stories were deep, raw, and full of heart. Lisa ate with these plotlines, but I ain’t expect anything less. And let’s not even talk about that proposal—felt like a scene straight outta Love & Basketball.
Lisa is definitely one of my favorites. Don’t leave us hanging too long, we need that next drop!
Both twins Jeovonni and Jovani have love on their minds with two Beautiful queen Rhainid and Voyage Vonni is ruthless but have a good heart.. He rescue a little girl with special needs, knowing that she’s beautiful knowing that he’s dating her mom voyage they Have an amazing happy ending never knew he had the baby with him all the time.I love grams Johanna She’s a tough cookie she killed their mother Melisa father right in front of them in his house she’s gangster..lol She raised and loves her grandsons so much and being a great grandmother to all the grandchildren. I would love to see the two twins be married. I hope it’s a part three.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 I really enjoyed how the rest of this story unraveled and came to a great close. I really enjoyed how funny Jovani’s character was. He had me laughing so much throughout the story. Both twins had BDE and did not play about their ladies.
I also thought it was so sweet how The MMC Jovani’s took in Atlantis as his own daughter! I would recommend this story but keep in mind this is part two of the first story by another author! You have to read both to appreciate the story as a whole! 💖
Jovani Bendetti was hilarious! He was the outgoing twin that did whatever, whenever! A one night stand changed his perspective on women and love. Voyage made him fall fast and hard. The fact that she knew him from his twin was a bonus. Finding Girl was important to him. He couldn't turn her over to the authorities. He was drawn to her. Melissa was good at keeping a close eye on her sons. Finding out the truth about Girl was for the best. It helped the situation between Von and Voyage. This was an amazing read.
I just knew this was gonna be a treat because when Voyage did that dance I could not stop laughing. I loved that though because it was like 2 friends having a good time. As silly as Von is he just let her rock. It's like he knew she was gonna be his so it was no use to do the most. These twins including Grams will turn up on anybody for the people they love. Girl is definitely gonna be her daddy twin because Yemon Drip Bish kills me everytime. I am glad voyage got what she deserved after that mess with Dutton. I could definitely use a story about Beala and Riker.
This was a great ending for the Twins. I loved that the brothers were able to find their happily ever after with the lovely ladies in their lives. Girl seems like an adorable child and her first words and what she calls her mother is hilarious. Grams had me laughing as usual Jovani didn’t make it any better. Those two are a trip. Didn’t give it five stars due to the minor errors. This was my first read by this other because I wanted to finish reading about the twins but I think I will check out her catalog.
I love this collaboration between NR and LA. These Bendetti boys are no joke. Was looking forward to reading more about Von and his nephews , I just knew that their interactions would be hilarious, perhaps a Christmas special is in the works, I hope 🤞. I felt like “ Girl/Atlantis” features suggested that her parents were Caucasian. Anyway hilarious read, even though some of the topics were a bit heavy, just as life can be at times. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for a hilarious part two.
This was a good read! Perfect follow up to Natisha’s story on Jeo! Jovani was a mess. He’s hilarious! Saved that baby and named her Girl! It was fate that he kept her because it was the love of his life’s daughter! I’m glad Grams got that pale faced mafia man! Melissa ended up being okay! I love that Alisa ended up sober and got to be around her grandkids. Those Bendetti twins know how to make some twins lol
The story was entertaining but was fast paced like a novella. It had a little of everything including a lot of laugh out loud moments, which is signature for Lisa. It also touched on a very sensitive and sad subject, but did so in a way that didn't feel too heavy. Overall, I liked this storyline much better than I did book one from another author. However, this one had much more editing and grammatical issues than book one so it impacted my reading pleasure.
What was supposed to be a drunken one night stand with a stranger turned into a beautiful funny love story! Jovani Bendetti was too funny! What he did for Babygurl was selfless! Voyage's ex was a scumbag and got just what he deserved! When the truth came out Voyage was overjoyed and it all worked out! Grams ain't no joke, glad they took the trash out and reunited with their mother too!
I absoluteli love, love, love this stori, hw it all came bck full circle was genius! Them fine twins! (Fannin) Lol ! They grandma is still hilarious and im glad she got revenge for her son. This book had mi laughin, cryin, and joyful, aww... Lil atlantis lol her first words was hilarious!! Nw thts hw write a book! 👏🏽 U did tht Quain! (Queen in ghetto term for the slow lol)
I love me some Jovani Bendetti. That man was hilarious the entire book. The initial meeting between him and Voyage had me tickled. Not her doing the Harlem shake when he asked her to dance for him, LOL. Jovani didn't play about Girl. The fact he named the baby Girl and everybody went along with it tickled me.
Voyage intrigued me. I wanted to know more about her and why she was so down. When it was finally revealed, I wanted to square up with her ex. He was the ultimate trash, and I'm glad he got exactly what he deserved. I loved that Voyage's cousin didn't judge her once she revealed everything that happened when she stopped coming around her.
This book pulled on my heartstrings, especially with Girl. I loved every moment of seeing Jovani fall in love in his own way. Him and Voyage were perfect for each other. I hated to end this series because I could've gone for a few hundred more pages of Jovani being foolish.
This book was written so good and it kept my attn from page 1 to the end!!!… I love me some Jovani!!!…His whole personality spk I’m with all the shittzzz and giggles!!!…You can tell Miss Joanna raised him to, because she was real quick with it!!!… I was not expecting him to keep the baby, but to say her name was Girl was hilarious!!!… I loved all the seriousness & the giggles that was in this book!!!…
Jovani was definitely the character out of the twins!! I laughed through this whole story!! I loved that Jovani and Melissa finally made amends. But when he had girl calling her mom “yemon drop bish”, I fell out laughing. I loved that destiny pulled Jovani and Voyage together, their love came fast but it was what both needed!! Five stars Ms. Austin
It’s been a minute since I’ve read by Lisa Austin and I really enjoyed it. Jovani definitely kept me laughing. He was the most outgoing of the Bendetti twins. The ending left a little to be desired, but there were so many happy endings in this book, but I won’t spoil them. But I was glad that Dutton got just what he deserved. Great series.
I already knew going into this read that Jovani was gone be a hot mess and funny af! Meeting Voyage (yeah, what type of name is that?!) proved to be the catalyst for him to end his hoe-ish ways. Baby gave him his grown man glow up which he desperately needed at 26! Good read, had me cracking up at the names for Melissa and how stupid Jovani was.
Jovani Bendetti was the funny twin but he was also very intuitive. He had a strong feeling that Girl's parents sold her to human traffickers, leading him to keep her and not turn her over to the authorities after rescuing her. He quickly developed feelings for Voyage. He had to work on his feelings for his mother Melissa. All in all, an excellent story!
A little comedy with this twin made the story a bit more interesting. It was sick how a man could sale his own children. Money makes people do the unthinkable. Voyage aka Yemon Drop Bish, turn out to be just the right female to straighten Von up. I actually wanna see what’s next in their story.
I know it was going to be some mess in the city, but chilleee, I would’ve never guessed! It all came together and you know I don’t mind pulling up to the city for a quick in and out.
Von was a crazy 🥷 for real. I loved him and Voyage’s love story it was so ratchet but sweet. That hoe Dutton was sick in the head having babies and selling them omg I was ready to body him. I’m so happy Voyage got her daughter back and she was with Von who loved up on her.
Mannnnn this book was so good. I love the Collab between Lisa and Natasha. Y’all got to run this back again and do a Collab with the twins or a different one oh my God it was so funny and so good. I love both of the books. amazing job ladies five star for sure.
This book was over the top ridiculous. There were some funny parts but a lot didn’t make sense. I kept going because I had to see how bad it would get and it definitely surpassed my expectations. Nobody’s actions made sense in this book
4.5 ⭐️ I knew I would be entertained reading this cuz Jovani ain’t got no sense lol.He was the last person anyone expected to adopt a baby and lord he was a mess. Positive character development. Plot twist. I enjoyed this series
This book was everything?? I was glad to see the twins got it together and both finally accepted their mother into their lives… Girl was a mess with her “ aye on drop Bish. First reading from this author but it kept me laughing.
OMG GIRL IS A TRIP I LIVED THE TWINS JOVANI IS BAE GRAM DIDN’T PLAY WIT THEM DUTTON AND PLASTIC BODY GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED ALONG WIT THE GRANDPA MOST DEFINITELY NEED MORE OF GIRL IN THE FUTURE
