Holiday Bay is a charming seaside town where every season brings a holiday, every holiday is a reason to celebrate, and healing comes in the most unexpected forms. After a devastating loss, Abby Sullivan never imagined her road to healing would lead her to a quaint seaside inn in Holiday Bay, Maine—or to a new life filled with quirky companions, cozy traditions, and mysteries that seem to follow her wherever she goes.
Now, in Book 35 of this heartwarming series, Abby and her friend Lacy are roped into coaching a ragtag soccer team of first-time players—including Lacy’s twins and Colt’s niece—after the original coach moves away. With no experience but plenty of heart, the duo sets out to guide the underdogs, forming bonds with each of the girls along the way, especially a quiet player hiding more than just nerves. When the girl suddenly disappears from practice, Abby’s instincts kick in, leading to a deeper mystery that proves some hunches are too important to ignore.
As the leaves turn and preparations for the annual harvest festival fill the air with the scent of cider and autumn cheer, the inn buzzes with seasonal excitement. With Colt in rehab, Georgia preparing for a life-changing arrival, and new beginnings on the horizon for all, Holiday Bay once again proves that healing, hope, and a little bit of magic can be found where you least expect it.
Perfect for fans of cozy mysteries, small-town stories, and feel-good fiction that celebrates friendship, family, and the spirit of the holidays.
Kathi lives with her husband, kids, grandkids, and dogs in beautiful Lake Tahoe. When she isn't writing, Kathi likes to read (preferably at the beach or by the fire), cook (preferably something with chocolate or cheese,) and garden (planting and planning not weeding). She also enjoys spending time on the water when she's not hiking, biking, or snowshoeing, the miles of desolate trails surrounding her home. Kathi uses the mountain setting in which she lives, along with the animals (wild and domestic) that share her home, as inspiration for her cozy mysteries.

I love this cosy mystery series by Kathi Daley, The Inn at Holiday Bay has been the starting point for several other series set in Holiday Bay, and they're all as good!
Abby has her work cut out, looking after her boyfriend, Police Chief Wilder, after his awful injury, as well as providing a home for his niece; this is in addition to running the Inn alongside Georgia, who is pregnant and also looking after the 'family' she has built at the Inn over the years she's been there.
In this book, Abby and Lacy (her good friend) are coaching the girls' soccer team with less than promising results. When a pivitol member of the team doesn't turn up for practice or a match, Abby's maternal instincts kick in to find out what's happening!
Two long-standing friends of Abby's (they were guests but became friends) return to the Inn to work on a case, alongside a group of friends who live in Holiday Bay and who formed a group which looks into cold cases.
These books are easily read in a few hours, and they captivate you from the first couple of chapters. Whilst each book is a standalone story, the books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and wider storyline.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series, but the benefit of this author writing several series is that there are always new releases to read!
If you like this series, try other series by the same author - Bakeshop at Holiday Bay; Bookstore at Holiday Bay; Bistro at Holiday Bay; Cottage On Gooseberry Bay; Rescue on Gooseberry Bay; Resort at Castaway Bay and Rescue Alaska, as well as lots of others, some series which are now complete.
This series just keeps on going. I do like the characters but sometimes the stories are drawn out too much, like the author is just stretching the short story into a book! this was one of the better ones, filled with more action and less conjecture.

great book with great recurring and new characters
I like Kathi Daley book and this was no exception. This book carries on with Abby Sullivan and her usual extended family/friends. Her boyfriend Colt (police chief recovering from a gunshot wound) is still healing and recuperating from being shot. Abby continues to run the Inn at Holiday Bay and the regular characters continue their story. A murder investigation on a cold case finds the guilty one still in Holiday Bay. This book also includes an emotional story of a young girl on the soccer team that Abby and her friend coach. Worth the read,
Abby and Lacy start coaching a girls soccer team. Colt is trying to recover but is told he may never go back to his regular police work and is trying to figure out his next move. Friend return trying to close old case file. Lots going on. But the most heartbreaking is one of the kids on the soccer team has home problems. Awesome book. So appreciate her detail to grammar and punctuation. Of course the book itself is well written. Excellent plot and characters. She always keeps you informed so you don't get lost.
Another great book in this series. Sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed with the amount of people involved in the story. More seem to be added every book. Mackey and Anna are the newest to be very involved with the rest of the Inn family. I still like the fact that there is always two or more stories in each book. This book was about a cold case murder that gets solved and Anna's home situation with an alcoholic mother and her criminal ex-boyfriend who gets murdered.
So many things happening all at once at the inn. While Lacy and Abby are coaching a soccer team they discover home issues with one of the girls. Colt is considering becoming a detective and adding a dog as his helper. Things are just crazy and Abby just goes with the flow. Kathi does amazing work with these series and I love them all so much. Can't wait for the next one.
Abby and Lacey are coaching the soccer team. Anna is on the team but appears to be having issues at home. When Abby returns Anna home one afternoon they discovery Toby dead and Anna's mother is missing. The search for Anna's mother begins while Beck and Colt work on another mystery. Kathi Daley weaves great stories with characters who love and respect each other.
This book had a lot of drama with the man Troy had forced his way into Anna's house and got her mom drinking again. Him killed by a man who he owned money to. Colt is training a dog to work with him if he gets the job with the county. You will have to read the book to find.out what happened to all of the citizens of Holiday Bay.
I have enjoyed the Inn at Holiday Bay books since the first one. This one was really good. I loved to see Mackey have such loving relationship with Abby and it as great for Colt to move on, that job will be great for him. This one was certainly amongst my favourites.
Love this series and this one is no different. Abby and Lacey are roped into coaching a first year ragtag soccer team that includes Lacey's twin and Colt's niece. See how that goes. Also one of the girl's disappear from school and the soccer team, naturally Abbey and Lacey get involved . See how that goes as readers of this series we know that Abbey's instincts are always right.
A cold case to be solved. A murder and a missing person. Colt considers a new position - and a canine companion. Lacey and Abby coach the Thunder Cats soccer team. Georgia grows a baby. Shirt, fun read.
The Inn at Holiday Bay: Wall flowers at the Window
Interesting and compassionate story with some sub stories thrown in the mix. A you g girl who is growing g up in a disfuntional family setting yet is mature in her attitude and a cold case.
This is another good story, with a murder mystery and some dramatic themes as Abby's inn family continues to expand. Colt is recovering and has a chance at a detective position that includes a dog Tanner has trained for police work.
Abby and Lacy are coaching an elementary soccer team. Anna, one of the players, doesn't show up for school or soccer for a week, which worries Abby. Abby, with aid from her friends, help Anna.
I really enjoy KATHI Daley books, I look forward to her next book in this series to see how things go for Anna and her mom. also if things work out for Colt and his dog Cody. I love all the Mystery’s and the going on’s with the whole growing family.
Well this story had many things going on that it was confusing at times. It also felt like part's didn't get completely done. Maybe more will be in the next book but that means you have to buy the next one. Oh well, onto the next..
These books just keep getting better. This story kept me on the edge of my seat til the end where an ending you didn't see coming happened. Can't wait to read the next one!
I loved this mystery. The plot was great with several twists, and it was wonderful, visiting the friends at Holiday Bay. It was a great plot who dun it
Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
