This entry in the "Explore the Countries" series from ABDO provides a brief introduction to Turkey, describing its history, geography, cities, plants and animals, resources, and culture. The writing is clear and direct, if a little general, and the photographs are well-chosen. Captions and side-bars provide additional information, while pronunciation guides provide clues to how certain words are said correctly. Each title in the series includes a brief timeline, famous faces and a tour book that highlights places to go and things to do. Overall, a nice, basic introduction to the country for younger students.
