A moment in time that tied them together forever. A broken promise that left her heart in pieces. Now, the surgeon must go after the forgiveness of the woman he never forgot.
“He’s arrogant, powerful, and much older than me. He broke my heart, and now, he’s the only one who can save my life.”
Lazarus Jasper Seymour—LJ to those closest to him—is one of the three world-renowned surgeons named the “Gods in White”. At thirty-eight, he’s determined to achieve the same level of excellence he commands in his career in his personal life. Arrogant, brilliant, and used to getting exactly what he wants, the billionaire is convinced he can design the perfect life. All he needs is the right woman for the job. What could possibly go wrong?
Alexis Gillis wants only one thing: to bring her mother home, cleared of the crime she didn’t commit. Closed off and wary, she’s built walls around her heart. But when fate throws her into LJ’s world, the last thing she expects is a fire she can’t control—one that could burn everything she’s tried to protect.
For the first time, LJ finds himself truly captivated. He decides to follow his feelings and promises Alexis he’ll return to her small hometown. But then tragedy strikes, shattering his plans.
The once unshakable, cold doctor is left drowning in emotions he doesn’t know how to process. But fate has no intention of extinguishing the fire between them. On the contrary, their paths are destined to cross again.
Now, Alexis must place her trust in the very man she swore never to forgive, in a desperate fight for her life. What neither of them knows is that a dark presence is lurking in the shadows, pulling the strings. And if they want a chance to be together, they’ll have to face it—and bring it down.

Note: The Arrogant's Redemption, Book Three of the Gods in White series, is a standalone. Each book can be read separately, but it’s likely that the next one will contain spoilers from the previous ones.
So originally I DNF'd this as it started with a trope that I can't stand (see spoilers) but curiosity got the better of me and I ended up reading it to the end.
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!
Plot:
FMC is a 23 year old virgin who has a podcast or something where she digs into past murders & unsolved crimes. We never get any info on this but just told of what she does and that she makes a good living out of it. She also has trust issues because she was abandoned and placed in foster care when her young mother couldn't take care of her. Then at age 8 her Mother found her and got her back so she carries a bit of abandonment issues.
In the present, her Mother was wrongly accused of murder and was placed in jail and she is doing her best to get her out.
MMC in turn is a heart surgeon and a billionaire. He is 38 years old and ready to get married and start a family - only he doesn't believe in love so wants an open marriage of convenience with an end date and no feelings. So he decides to date and marry a friend of the family whom he has known since childhood.
In the opening chapters he is about to get engaged to this OW who he was seeing for 4 or 6 months but sees a glimpse of feelings from her and decides to end things because he doesn't want a woman who has feelings for him. To him, this is a business transaction of sorts where in the end he wants two kids out of it and a divorce in 5 years.
So here is my problem - He dates this OW and thinks of marrying her because their families are close even though her family is dysfunctional (a bit like his, but more so in her case). His POVs don't tell us why he was having sex with her when supposedly he never felt any attraction or feelings for her before this or in the present. He also said that the OW was emotionless during sex which is how he likes it. So I pictured him as using OW to get off with an goal of having 2 kids with her - even though he said he wouldn't remain faithful and wouldn't care if she had other lovers as along as the kids were his.
Then after he breaks off things with her and doesn't propose, she becomes a bit of a psycho and he leaves town to go to cape Cod where he meets FMC and within 3 days they are in a relationship of sort, have developed feelings and having sex.
Then he gets a call that his cousin and his ex-OW was in a car accident and to come home pronto. He tells FMC he will be back - only he never gets back because OW dies and he is told that she was pregnant with his kid which devastates him and he feels guilt. Then his cousin who was in the car with OW to stop her has to be operated on by him and his Father also suffered a heart attack which he has to operate and be with them so he never has time to get back to FMC and is also grieving on top.
Anyway, he asks his sister to go see FMC and tell her what happened. Only the sister who was BFFs with the OW is angry and blaming FMC so tells her lies that he was engaged to OW and he just lost the woman he loved and his child. FMC thinking he used her, leaves and changes phone #'s so she never receives his calls and he eventually thinks he is too wrong for her and leaves her alone.
For the plot to have worked, it would have been better if he had not had sex with OW to make us believe there was no emotion or attraction for OW. As it was, it just felt icky and he went right from OW's bed to FMC's in literally the same day. Add to it the whole plot about him mourning a kid that we later learn wasn't even his & feeling guilt for her death, it just became a bit ridiculous..
In the present which is a year and a half later, we learn that he secretly kept tabs of FMC and helped her with getting her Mother out of jail. FMC also had their baby son and even though she tried to tell him about the pregnancy & his son, she wasn't successful because she again contacted the sister instead of him who told her he moved on and she needs to do the same.
She also has a heart condition and asks her Mother to reach out to him to have surgery. This is when they slowly begin to build bridges and he learns about his son who at first he is pissed that she kept him from him but her Mother explains why and eventually he understand and forgives. They become a family of 3 and just when they are about to get married, we have another trope added in here and that is there is a mystery person who has it in for her Mother and was responsible for her being falsely accused of murder.
This same person is also the baby daddy of the OW's kid who died and lover.. Yep, she was cheating on MMC with OM and got pregnant by him but it was by word of mouth - not through any DNA test done. So who really knows whose kid it was. We just go by what some folks told him, including the baddie.
Also, FMC asks MMC if he had been told about the baby with OW before she died, would he have married OW and become a family and forgot about her? He said No. He would have stepped in and shared custody but never would have married OW which makes for a nice change since many authors with this plot have MMC dump FMC right away to play happy families with OW.
Anyway, then we have FMC, her Mom & MMC's sisters-in-laws get kidnapped by the madman only for her stepdad to save them and MMC to help out.
In case anyone is interested,
Story ends with HEA. Married with another kid (a boy) and they adopt 2 little girls because FMC can't have any more kids or something. That last part was not necessary at all.
I should also mention that after MCs separate for that year and a half, both of them remain celibate which is why this got 2 stars. MMC said that even though he missed sex and wanted to get off, he couldn't be interested in anyone else because he was still hung up on FMC. There was no mention about FMC but I assume she didn't date either because she was busy raising her kid, getting her Mother out of jail and dealing with a heart condition. Plus she said she didn't like flings or ONS.
I love angsty medical romances and this is it! LJ is a cardiac surgeon and a very good one. Alexis is a small town girl who has a one night stand with the charming arrogant doctor. He makes promises to her, which is breaks leaving her heartbroken. Fate intertwines then again when Alexis needs a life saving heart surgery and LJ is the only one who can save her. This is a terrific age gap, second chance romance with forced proximity and a secret baby. LJ and Alexis both go through their own hardships and lives their growth together. This is a wonderful story with some spice and a little plot twist.
The stories I've started reading from D.A. Lemoyne are quickly making her one of my favorite storytellers. I love that she has a thing for Greek men and sticks to what she knows, weaving the lives of characters from her other books. Seeing how I live in North Carolina I have a real affinity toward this writer. Her characters are always flawed in some way but that is the reason that keeps me reading, it's like real life set to words. This is the story of the orphaned Alexis Gillis, who is really not an orphan anymore. Her mother gave her up when she was born because her husband and her parents died in a car accident and she was the lone survivor, her and her baby Alexis. She had mentally checked out and she could not take care of her young baby, so she gave her up for adoption, but she never was adopted, she was placed in foster home to foster home. Lazarus aka LJ Seymour was one of the world's best cardiac surgeons. Alexis was weary of getting attached to people because she felt they would think she was weird but when her and LJ met on the beach, she thinking he was there to buy her mother's boat, and he was just drawn toward her. When they met, they formed an instant connection. People got in the way and tried to ruin their lives. Fate had other plans. They were always meant to be together. Fate made sure that they would get the opportunity to right the wrongs of the past. I love the way this author writes these characters. She makes them relatable in a lot of ways. There was so much angst and mystery in this book, and it takes a turn I did not see coming, I knew someone evil was out to ruin Alexis and her mom's life, but I did not know it would be who it turned out to be. I would highly recommend this book, and I would say you should read the series as I did you will definitely enjoy her books, I know I do.
D.A. Lemoyne did not disappoint with the third book in the God's In White Series, The Arrogant's Redemption. This is a 5-star deliciously spicy book with an emotional rollercoaster ride that left me so satisfied at the end. The Banter between the MMC and FMC as well as the side character banter was on point. Alexis, the FMC, is an amazing, strong, independent, passionate woman who has a strong loyalty to family that no one could break. The loyalty toward her family leads her into a world and a mission that she was not expecting and with a result that no one expects. Lazarus, L.J. for short is our God in White MMC, and his work is around specialty heart surgery cases. His world was on the verge toward something that not even he could prepare for. Everyone has family drama, and L.J.'s family is no exception. What created serious drama turns out to be something that heals. What is it you ask? Well, you will just have to read to find out. Go pick up the God's in White series, you won't be disappointed.
D. A. has done it again. She always writes some of the best characters. Each is flawed in some way but you cannot help but fall in love with them. LJ was no different from the other Gods in White. He had his own issues to overcome but he really has a heart of gold. Alexis did not have an easy life. She had a lot of emotional trauma that kept her from really letting people in. She met LJ and they formed and instant connection. People got in the way and tried to ruin their lives. Fate had other plans. They were always meant to be together. Fate made sure that they would get the opportunity to right the wrongs of the past. I love the way this author writes these characters. She makes them relatable in a lot of ways. They never have an easy time but they learn to fight for the life they deserve. I cannot wait to see what this author has instore next. She has great story development. She keeps you engaged and leaves you wanting more.
This is the third book in this series, and this is Lazarus / LJ and Alexis’ story. LJ is a brilliant and intense cardiac surgeon, who is emotionally unavailable, while Alexis is wary, closed off, strong, and resilient. Alexis wants her mother to return home and be exonerated of a crime she did not commit. A 1-night stand with LJ, turns into forever, but can a broken promise be forgiven? This is a well written story, with found family, friendships, emotions, drama, angst, danger, suspense, intrigue, an age gap, forced proximity, tension, justice, second chances, secrets, trust, healing, morally gray, sizzling chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable, addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Holy freaking hell I LOOOVED this book! The story line was so different and unexpectedly amazing 🤩 👏
Alexis is a broken girl. So much traumatic childhood baggage, abandonment and severe trust issues. She adores her Mom but she’s the only person she has ever allowed to in to her world. Until she meets LJ.
LJ the world renowned heart surgeon, asshole extraordinaire! Wants a heir but has zero desire to ever love or commit to one person. So it’s all a business contract to him. Until it isn’t 😏
The absolute dumpster fire these 2 humans go through is just mind blowing and will leave you with your jaw on the floor. Cannot say to much without giving away spoilers 🤐
I’m absolutely obsessed with this book. I can’t even explain how amazing this romance! Loved it so much!!
Once, he held her heart in his skilled hands—and shattered it. Now, he’s the only one who can save her life.
Lazarus—LJ to the world’s elite—is one of the famed “Gods in White,” a trio of world-renowned surgeons with unmatched skill and impossible standards. At thirty-eight, he’s built an empire on precision, control, and power. Everything in his life is calculated… except the memory of the woman he let slip away.
Alexis Gillis has no time for ghosts from her past—especially not the arrogant surgeon who broke her heart. All she wants is justice for her mother, wrongfully imprisoned for a crime she didn’t commit. Guarded and fiercely independent, Alexis has built walls no one has breached—until LJ crashes back into her world like a force of nature.
She’s the spark he never forgot. He’s the fire she never forgave.
LJ promises to return to her small hometown and fight for a future between them. But before he can, tragedy strikes—derailing everything. For the first time, the cold, unshakable doctor is spiraling… and Alexis is the only one who can bring him back.
When fate throws them together once more, Alexis must trust the man she vowed to hate—in a fight for her life neither of them saw coming. But someone is watching from the shadows, manipulating every move.
To survive—and to be together—they’ll have to face a darkness greater than either of them imagined. And this time, LJ can’t afford to fail.
WHAT YOU’LL FIND IN THE BOOK ; 🔥Doctor Romance 🩺❤️ 🔥Secret Baby 🔥One Night Stand to Forever
REVIEW ; -Doctor romance? YES PLEASE! This book was so good! Second chance romance! A surgeon who broke a woman’s heart & he’s the only one who can heal it. Although, Alexis is a tough cookie & she definitely stood her ground. So many emotions between these two! This book had me hooked from the very beginning. Highly recommend!
This is my first D.A. Lemoyne book that I have read and I really enjoyed it.
Alexis and Lazarus aka LJ story was beautiful and I enjoyed it.
Alexis is trying to save her mom as she helped saved her from the orphanage. LJ was not really looking for anything just a little fun as he said he could not love anyone when he met Alexis. They don’t see each here for awhile but when they do it’s because Alexis needs heart surgery and LJ is the only one who can preform the surgery and Alexis has a secret she needs to tell him that they have a child together. Once LJ finds out their son he tries to make it work between him and Alexis and they see where things go.
Alexis has one important goal in her life now - get her mother out of prison, wrongly incarcerated for something Alexis knows she did not do. She has absolutely no time, nor the inclination, to deal with the man who shattered her heart when he broke his promise to her. But Lazarus "LJ" is the one man uniquely qualified to save Alexis, so now she's stuck with him being back in her life. Not her heart, though, the heart he just fixed, literally...
LJ is one of the arrogant, cold-hearted "Gods in White" and is intent on marrying and producing an heir. Oh not because of love or anything, and he even thinks he's found the proper woman. Then the only woman who's ever made him feel finds her way back into his life, and she needs him. She may need him only because of his surgical skills, but he's determined to offer her much more than that. He wants everything with Alexis, and by sheer arrogant determination, he's going to get it.
These gods in white have been a study in cold, arrogant alphaholeness. But LJ is my favorite so far, he's the least arrogant, the least cold of the three. Like his friends, though, he had a lot of making up to do to the woman he loved. And what a woman! Alexis is the best part of this story - singularly focused on freeing her mom, making LJ work for her forgiveness, all while dealing with a threat she can't even name. The suspense flawlessly weaves with the relationship, giving the story an edge and more intensity.

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75
The Arrogant’s Redemption by D.A. Lemoyne is a gripping, emotionally charged romance that blends high-stakes medical drama, second chances, and simmering romantic tension into a compelling standalone in the Gods in White series. Centred around Lazarus Jasper Seymour—known as LJ—a gifted but emotionally distant cardiac surgeon, and Alexis Gillis, a woman whose quiet strength is tested by love, betrayal, and life-threatening danger, this book delivers an intense rollercoaster of passion and suspense.
LJ is the quintessential alpha hero: brilliant, brooding, and used to control. His arrogance is matched only by his talent in the operating theatre. But beneath his composed exterior lies the pain of a past decision that cost him the woman who once meant everything. Alexis, toughened by personal loss and driven by a need for justice, isn’t looking for love—especially not from the man who broke her heart years ago.
Their reunion is explosive, reawakening old emotions and exposing the deep wounds neither of them have fully healed. D.A. Lemoyne crafts their relationship with care, allowing for both the vulnerability and strength needed to earn redemption and rebuild trust. The romantic tension is palpable, but it’s the emotional growth—particularly on LJ’s part—that stands out. Watching a man so certain of his world unravel and fight to reclaim what he lost is one of the book’s most rewarding aspects.
As the story unfolds, a deeper mystery emerges, adding a suspenseful layer that raises the stakes far beyond personal reconciliation. A lurking threat and an intricate web of secrets propel the narrative forward, keeping the reader guessing as Alexis and LJ are forced to unite not just in love, but in survival.
While The Arrogant’s Redemption is part of a larger series, it functions perfectly as a standalone, with enough context to make the connections meaningful without overwhelming the plot. That said, readers who’ve followed the Gods in White from the beginning will appreciate the evolving world and interconnected lives.
Emotional, powerful, and richly written, this novel is about more than just romance—it’s about atonement, vulnerability, and the courage it takes to trust again. The Arrogant’s Redemption delivers a satisfying, high-stakes love story that fans of angsty, character-driven romance won’t want to miss.
This story delivers layers upon layer of angst and many missteps from both main characters, i.e. L.J. and Alexis throughout this book. If it wasn't for Alexis' mothers practical input and Alexis' eventual heart condition I don't believe these two would have realistically got together. I literally could list each one's character actions that seemed off at the time that made me think "what?"
LJ is one of the "Gods in White" i.e, (world renown heart surgeon) who are all arrogant, self centered men that are difficult to wrap your head around. Each one's story had different twists and turns and revelations that eventually resulted in the men becoming caring men, thoughtful men when the right woman was brought into their lives. Initially, L.J. was no different in that marriage was just a means to an end to produce an heir to make his family happy....blah blah blah. After finding out the woman he had known his entire life and was set to marry was crazy, he calls off the engagement opening the door for he and Alexis meeting.
He and Alexis' "meet cute" had an under current of attraction that led to a weekend together at his cousin's house and "oops-another unplanned pregnancy". Alexis's character was always a bit strange, eccentric and odd in the way she approached things with him, but also had a sadness that she constantly tried to hide. Her backstory was one for the books' and her inability to really "trust" anyone beside her mother was a theme brought to the surface over and over. She had few friends or acquaintances and was obsessively focused on one thing, getting her mother out of jail.
LJ' character had its flaws too in his relationship with his awful sister and the people he fully trusted even when those people had no problem emotionally hurting him. He was 38 when he and Alexis met and it took this couple two years to get back together. Fate obviously intervened while Alexis and LJ were apart that brought them back together, but I never felt like either character really tried that hard to do a face to face and explain what happened that fateful weekend. I couldn't understand why Alexis didn't tell him he was a father. She could have done allot of things to contact him, especially knowing his notoriety as a heart surgeon. He definitely could have found her.
I had an issue with the timeline in how it played into LJ's cousin's and Alexis' mother's past. Just how old was this guy? Is he a cousin or an Uncle? The story does come full circle, but thought that allot of time was lost due to each character's excuses and "poor me" attitudes.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️¾ ARC Review: The Arrogant’s Redemption by D.A. Lemoyne
✨ ARC provided in exchange for an honest review
Holy. Emotional. Rollercoaster. This was my first D.A. Lemoyne read, and I can confidently say it won’t be my last. The Arrogant’s Redemption swept me up from the very first page with its explosive mix of second chances, raw emotional trauma, high-stakes medical drama, and deeply human characters. I devoured it.
At the heart of this story is Alexis, a woman hardened by a traumatic childhood, abandonment, and a lifetime of trust issues. She’s fierce, loyal, and driven by one mission—saving the woman who once saved her. That mission puts her back into the orbit of Lazarus Jasper Seymour (aka LJ), the arrogant, emotionally unavailable, world-renowned heart surgeon who once said he couldn’t love—and proved it by walking away from her.
Their reunion? Absolutely FIRE. 🔥 Alexis needs heart surgery. LJ is the only one who can perform it. Oh—and surprise: she’s been raising their child in secret. 😮💨
From there, the book turns into a slow-burn, second-chance emotional inferno. These two are damaged, messy, and so damn compelling. LJ starts as your classic grumpy genius—brilliant, emotionally walled-off, and convinced love is a liability. Watching him unravel and fight for Alexis and their son is everything. His redemption arc is gritty and heartfelt, not just romantic but deeply earned.
Meanwhile, Alexis isn’t just surviving—she’s thriving in her strength. She doesn’t make it easy for LJ, and she shouldn’t. Her growth, her pain, and her strength felt so authentic, and I adored how she never lost her agency or voice.
But this isn’t just romance—Lemoyne weaves in a thrilling undercurrent of danger and suspense that elevates the stakes beyond just love and loss. Secrets unravel, threats loom, and the past refuses to stay buried. It’s cinematic in scope, yet so grounded in emotional realism that you feel every beat.

Lemoyne has officially landed on my “must watch” author list, and I’m diving into the rest of the Gods in White series immediately.
D.A. Lemoyne's The Arrogant's Redemption is an enthralling, emotionally intense romance that blends simmering sexual chemistry, intense medical dilemmas, and renewed opportunities into a compelling standalone within the Gods in White series. This novel provides an exciting journey of love and tension, focusing on Alexis Gillis, a woman whose silent bravery is challenged by romance, betrayal, and danger, along with Lazarus Jasper Seymour, or LJ, a skilled yet emotionally distant heart surgeon.
The celebrated "Gods in White," a trio of exceptional surgeons with unmatched skill and impossible standards, features Lazarus, referred to as LJ among the global elite. At thirty-eight, he has built an empire centered around authority, dominance, and precision. Aside from the recollection of the woman he let slip away, all aspects of his life are organized.
Alexis Gillis has no time for the remnants of her past, especially the arrogant doctor who shattered her heart. Her mother was wrongly incarcerated for a crime she did not commit, and she solely seeks justice for her. Alexis is fiercely self-reliant and defensive, and nobody has ever penetrated the defenses she has established—until LJ unexpectedly reenters her life like a whirlwind.
Reviving past emotions and uncovering the deep scars neither has genuinely mended, their meeting is intense. D.A. Lemoyne intricately shapes their relationship, fostering the necessary strength and vulnerability to achieve forgiveness and restore trust. While there is clear romantic tension, what truly stands out is LJ's emotional growth. A highly rewarding aspect of the novel is witnessing a man who was once confident in his life crumble and strive to regain what he had lost.
An intriguing mystery unfolds during the story, introducing a captivating factor that elevates the stakes far beyond personal recovery. The narrative is propelled by a persistent threat and a tangled network of mysteries, keeping the audience intrigued as Alexis and LJ must unite for both survival and affection.
*Tropes: -Billionaire Doctor Romance -Second Chance -Age Gap (15 years) -Grumpy x Grumpy -Accidental Pregnancy -Suspense
*Spiciness: 2 / 5
I had so fun reading the last book of “Gods in White” series. D. A. Lemoyne has done great job with the storyline and creation of the main characters. I absolutely loved the honesty and straightforwardness of LJ. Both LJ and Alexis are grumpy but they work together perfectly. Alexis’s past was kinda traumatic which molded her personality. Alexis is hard working, loyal, awkward but sweet to people she loves and trust (which are less than handful). Both LJ and Alexis have trust issues which results in them perusing each other with too much of caution. When things go south for this couple, their relationship doesn’t survive in the beginning. There are numerous instances of misunderstanding and miscommunication between LJ and Alexis, which only intensifies the rift between them until fate brings them face-to-face. Alexis and LJ realize that their feelings for each other are still intact and if they want their relationship to work this time around, they need to forgive each other for their past mistakes and slowly move forward. This couple had to face life-threatening situations before things finally settled down, and they could start living the life they both deserved. The big revelation / suspense literally blew my mind and left my jaw hanging. I love that D. A. Lemoyne always adds mind blowing suspense in all her stories and plots which causes me to keep guessing what will happen in the end. If you enjoy reading about stories with Arrogant MCs who are humbled by formidable women, I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
I’m so sad this series is over, @lemoynebooks has me so in love with these characters and the found family they’ve created!
The Arrogant’s Redemption is a forced proximity, age gap, second chance, billionaire romance between Alexis and Lazarus.
Like so many of D.A’s FMCs, I found Alexis to be so beautifully relatable. She’s been disappointed and hurt by so many people that she’s decided to never actively seek out a relationship or let herself want one, and I don’t blame her one bit. That being said, I loved how she and Lazarus really had to work to make their relationship work, if not for their sakes then for their son’s. Alexis really goes on a journey healing, and I think so many readers will relate to her as she learns to love Lazarus again.
Much like in D.A’s previous books in this series, I loved Lazarus so much. He knows what he wants, and he works so hard to win back his family. I loved how he learned to open up his heart to Alexis and their son, how he had to learn to be honest with her and hear her side of the story in order to grow and heal from their past. He would do absolutely anything to protect them from any kind of threat, and seeing him open his heart to them was so beautiful to read about. Y’all are absolutely going to love him.
Thank you so much to @lemoynebooks and @theauthor.agency for my arc! I had the best time with this series.
This is the third book in the Gods in White series, and we finally get Lazarus Jasper’s story. LJ is a world-renowned surgeon, and he knows it is time to settle down. He has already chosen the woman who fits all his requirements, but at the last minute, he realizes she is not right for the future he envisions. He goes away for the weekend to clear his head and ends up meeting the younger Alexis. He is shocked by how strongly he feels drawn to her. Known for always being in control, he wonders if he can let his guard down enough to let her in.
Alexis has one focus: getting her mother out of prison after she was wrongly accused of a crime she did not commit. When she meets LJ, she feels a magnetic pull toward him, but she refuses to lose sight of her goal. One weekend, she throws caution aside and gives in to her feelings. She has no idea that it will break her heart. The question is whether they will be able to move past the pain in the future. Sometimes mistakes leave scars that are hard to heal.
The chemistry between these two was incredible. I could feel both of them fighting what they wanted, and when they finally caved, it was pure magic. I love a story with a bit of mystery, and this book delivered the perfect amount. I was completely shocked when the truth came out and did not see the twists coming.
If you enjoy a story with just enough suspense to pull you in, a heroine with a tragic past, and a hero looking for redemption, this is definitely the book for you.
I received this ARC for my honest opinion. The Arrogant’s Redemption by D.A. Lemoyne was a good read. Lazarus Jasper (LJ) and Alexis story was a story that stands the test of time. What starts off as a chance encounter leads down a path of saving. Alexis is trying to save her mom after her mom saves her from being at an orphanage. Alexis stumbles across LJ and he tries to tell her she shouldn’t be outside by herself and she laughs. They have a glorious weekend together and then their worlds fall apart. Alexis mom reaches out to LJ when she finds out her daughter needs heart surgery. Will they communicate finally or will it all fall apart again. Good read and enjoyed. Recommend reading the God’s in white series.
DR LAZARUS J. SEYMOUR, an emotionally distant, self centered cardiac surgeon and ALEXIS GILLIS , a woman whose inner strength is constantly tested. she encounters a life threatening condition which LJ is the only one who can help her get out of it on the other side. They share a heartbreaking past , he tore her spirit to pieces and she dislikes the fact that his expertise are the key to getting better. He experiences some inner termoil and she is the only person who can bring him out of it successfully.
D.A LEMOYNE does it for me every single time .. her stories are a perfect mixture of spice, twists, turns and a great overall plot
The third and final book in the gods in white series. A standalone book which features the story of LJ and his love interest, Alexis. As with the previous book in the series, there is an element of suspense and mystery which piques curiosity. I loved the found family, friendship, second chance, secret baby tropes. I enjoyed the pull and push nature of LJ and Alexis’s relationship. The build up was great and the combustion good. I would have loved to know earlier on what Alexis’s mother was incarcerated for. It took more than half of the book for this to come to light. If you love your romance with a dash of danger and suspense, then you should read this. I received an advanced copy and the review is mine and voluntary.
This book is a solid 3.5 stars for me, and so I rounded up because I didn't love or hate this one. The storyline is "billionaire meets girl" and there's not a thing to complain about. It has its spicy moments, and it's tension. There were a few times I caught myself almost ready to switch off to another book because I could see the next 'thing' coming but I was pleasantly surprised by some of those twists. I really feel like this needed fleshed out more in some areas. It was almost too much 'stuff' but I think that's an issue that comes with time skips. A month, a year, a decade, and the life changes were so extreme. Tying it all together wasn't too hard but it was a lot for me considering I wasn't super invested. I don't regret reading this, but I don't think I'd read it twice.
I only started to enjoy the story after 60% tbh. Initially, I just couldn't feel the connection between Alexis & Lazarus. He was such an a**hole and her character just did not feel developed enough. But I liked how Alexis turned strong and gave back to the people who tried to hurt her in the second half. Lazarus was also slightly better in the last few parts and I liked his bond with Sedric. The beginning of this book though, felt unnecessarily long to me. So, while I liked some parts of the story and some of the side characters, I have mixed feelings about this book. I'll give this 2.5 stars.
🤍 This is book 3 in the series, and I can't choose a favorite one so far. Each one is better than the last and offers new things 🤍 What I love most about these books by this author is that, in some way, we learn about the protagonists of the other books, and we love seeing how their lives go 🤍 I don't want to give away spoilers, so I'll just say that you should read this book. It's a beautiful story about second chances, and what an opportunity these two beautiful protagonists are given 🤍 Seeing a little bit of their past based on their stories is beautiful. Watching their relationship grow makes it better. Every step in the story is unbeatable. I love my Gods in White boys ❣️🥹
The third book in the Gods In White series and the story perfectly blends a second chance romance along with intense medical drama. I liked how the characters were written, with LJ being emotionally distant and Alexis with her strength and resilience.
The tension between these two when they reunite is everything. Alexis and LJ have so much work through with their past, opening themselves up with their vulnerabilities and learning to trust again.
Absolutely loved this book! I LJ and Alexis went through so much separately and together to get their ending. Alexis and her mom’s relationship I really did love. I think Alexis not holding a grudge against her mom for how their relationship started was so different, and just how open she was with her. This book did have a turn that I honestly didn’t expect and was actually shocked. I think overall I just really loved how LJ was with Alexis. He knew what he wanted and got it
