She crashed her car trying to challenge the wilderness. Now I’m teaching her how to survive, and what it feels like to be claimed.
Dex She crashed her car on a remote mountain road and landed in my world like fate had a hand in it. Amber came here looking for something. Freedom, maybe, or a piece of herself she thought she lost. I should’ve called in the tow and gone back to my life, but one look at her and I knew I wouldn’t. Now she’s stuck in my cabin for the long weekend, sleeping under my roof, wearing my flannel. She doesn’t know it yet, but she belongs here with me, in this life I built to keep everyone out. And I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure she never walks away.
Amber Getting downsized was the push I needed to finally stop playing it safe and start living for myself. So I packed a bag, drove to Granitehart Ridge Retreat, and promised I’d do something bold for once in my life. I didn’t expect to end up in a ditch, face-to-face with a silent, brooding mountain man built like a storm. Dex doesn’t say much, but when he looks at me, I forget every reason I was supposed to leave. He shows me a quiet world filled with bees, wildflowers, and a kind of safety I’ve never known. And somewhere between the willow tree and his bed, I start to wonder if I’ve finally come home. Tropes include instalove, he falls first/she comes first, a possessive cinnamon roll hero, a curvy heroine, forced proximity, fish out of water, steamy open-door scenes, a small town mountainside retreat, and a satisfying HEA.
This steamy short read delivers instalove, instant obsession, no cliffhangers, and no cheating. Safe, swoony, and just the right length for a quick binge.
What to expect from Tiffany Bloom's stories My stories bring the heat and the heart. The steam is open-door, full of feeling, a little sweet, and a little addictive. You'll always get a safe, satisfying love story with a guaranteed HEA every time.
Tiffany Bloom writes swoon-worthy short romances featuring strong men who give their curvy women the perfect HEA every time. She lives with her husband and dog in Virginia. When she’s not writing, you may find her taking long walks, trying new recipes, reading, and living her own HEA.
The Mountain Man's Wild Haven is Book 4 of the Granitehart Ridge Retreat series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, damsel-in-distress, forced-proximity, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Amber is a curvy girl who recently lost her job. She decides to drive to the mountains to do her own wilderness challenge when she runs off the road. Dex is a hunky wilderness guide at the local retreat center. He finds her and offers her a place to stay. They are attracted to each other and things get hot and steamy. But both have baggage and aren't the best at communicating. Will she stay? These two had great chemistry and we got a sweet HEA.
Some stories sneak up on you quietly—just like Amber sneaking her way up that mountain—and then suddenly, bam, they crash right into your heart. (Okay, and a ditch.)
Amber isn’t out to prove anything to anyone but herself. Tired of being underestimated and overlooked, she plans a solo wilderness retreat—just her, nature, and a chance to show herself she can. But halfway up the mountain, her plan literally veers off course. No cell service, no one around... until Dex rolls up in his truck and turns what should’ve been a disaster into something that feels strangely like fate.
Dex is the kind of man who keeps his heart locked up tight. He’s convinced he’s not cut out for love—thanks to a childhood shaped by abandonment and the echo of his mother’s warning: “You’re just like your father.” He’s spent years believing it. Until Amber.
From the moment he sees her, messy and stubborn and beautiful, something cracks open in him. He’s not just drawn to her—he wants to be better for her. To try. And Amber? She’s not looking to be saved, but she might be ready to be seen for the first time.
Their chemistry is natural, full of playful tension and heartfelt moments that had me smiling like a fool. But what really stuck with me was the quiet growth—two people who never thought they were good enough, slowly realizing they might be exactly right for each other.
Tiffany Bloom delivers a romance that’s tender, raw, and full of wilderness charm. The mountain isn’t just a setting—it’s a metaphor for both of them. Wild, unpredictable, sometimes treacherous, but always worth the climb.
If you love emotionally wounded heroes, fiercely independent heroines, and love stories that feel like home after a storm, The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven is your next must-read.

This book contained great characters and a storyline I really enjoyed for the most part. Additionally, the clear descriptions of the forrest settings gave a realistic feel to the various character interactions. The banter between then also had me smiling repeatedly while reading. That said, I did not conclude this story with that same feeling of contentment or satisfaction. The weights each character carried played a part in their actions, though the reasons were shared only with the reader. The lack of a relateable resolution clung as I concluded. Overall, Dex and the storyline were my favorite parts, though I liked Hannah's character just fine. I say that trying not to take the conclusion into account. Now note, everyone has their preferences and this is simply my reaction to this story. I have read others by this author and will likely do so again in the future (this is the first to garner such a reaction from me). As with all fiction, eliciting a strong reaction - positive or negative - it is still a strong emotional response to the writing.
The Mountain Man's Wild Haven by Tiffany Bloom is the kind of short, swoony escape I love sinking into. This instalove story follows Amber, who’s at a crossroads after being downsized from her job, and Dex, a rugged mountain man carrying the weight of his father’s abandonment.
Their connection is immediate and electric, yet emotionally grounded. I loved watching Amber search for meaning while Dex struggled to believe he could be more than his past. Despite its short length, the story doesn’t feel rushed—it’s packed with emotion, heat, and heart. And yes, the happy ending is just the kind of satisfying wrap-up I needed.
If you're looking for a quick, steamy read with emotional depth and a beautiful setting, this one delivers!.

This was a sweet mountain man romance. There were a lot of things about it I loved. The writing and editing were good. The pacing was good. The story was good but I wish the author had included the hero helping the heroine to find her passion as part of enticing her to stay. I love it when the hero helps the heroine learn something new about herself, or find/execute her secret wishes for fulfillment (in plots like this where the heroine is feeling lost and comes to the wilderness to find herself or prove something to herself). The hero was certainly sweet, oh, and growly(🥰🔥). The spice was mild in my opinion.

-A tender, steamy instalove set in the breathtaking Granitehart Ridge. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Amber’s search for purpose collides with strong and Dex’s guarded heart in a perfect storm of emotion. Forced proximity and instant attraction build into a heartfelt, hopeful romance. Short but satisfying, it’s a beautiful blend of heat, healing, and happily ever after. Dex is like a big strong and protective teddy bear who needs a hug.
My favorite quote “The man who gets out looks like he’d chop down the mountain himself for something to do.”
This incredibly beautiful love story took my breath away. Dex never felt deserving of love, and Amber was at a dead end and wanted to challenge herself. In my opinion, this was both an Instalove, and a slow-burn. Dex wanted Amber from the moment he saw her, and she wanted him. As Amber and Dex navigate whether to tell the other how they feel, tension and angst is palpable. Fortunately, this steamy story has a wonderful HEA. My favorite quote from this book is: “I wasn't lost, just not yet found.”.

I loved The Mountain Man's Wild Haven. This insta-love, mountain man, forced proximity story was another great read by Tiffany Bloom. Amber and Dex are such a great couple that drew me into the story. Their instant connection support of one another, and their heart-felt emotion really added to their appeal and their journey finding their HEA. The story is well written and very entertaining. Amber did not expect half the things that happened to her within the first chapter. But crashing your car and meeting Dex could be a possibility. She is an instant connection with Dex. He is one of the Wilderness guides willing to show her ways how the forest can alter how she looks at things. Including him as their attraction quickly grows. Enjoy the read and the colorful description of the forest. Liked the read.

Amber had big plans, brave and bold was supposed to be her memory of this day. Instead, an accident, no bars on her cell phone, and no plan B. This was not how her day 1 of her wilderness challenge was supposed to be, alone on a rural mountain road, feeling she’s made a mistake. The Mountain Man’s Wild Haven is a wonderful story with amazing characters. Make sure you grab this story and enjoy!.

Tiffany Bloom knocked this one out of the park! It was so good, and one that I'll read again several times over. I can't say enough good things about it. You can read my full review here: https://thereadingwife.com/the-mounta...
This series is proving to be addictive. Amber has used a back road to get onto the Retreat land to do a wilderness weekend of her own. She is rescued by Dex and ends up with her forever in this must-read.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Amber is looking for a challenge and finds it along with love in Dex. He gives her a new place to belong and I'm glad he didn't let her get away. I liked Amber's courage and her instinct not to leave completely.
Another great mountain man short story. It has all you'd expect from a short spicy romance. I hope it doesn't cause single women to go driving on sketchy mountain roads looking for their hero.
