Reese Salt has had a strenuous past year. Being introduced into a world of monsters, training non stop, fighting against a growing force that terrifies her, and falling in love with her trainer has drained her. Things are not getting better. In fact, they seem to be out of control.
After discovering she isn’t entirely human, Reese is afraid to open up to those around her. She sees herself hunted and locked away in a cage. Someone close to her in the group is manipulated by Derek and abandons them to join forces with those they are fighting against. Once finding out that Derek has plans for Sim, Reese brings him to the training camp. This sets things on a downward spiral for her. Feeling lost, she leaves in search of answers.
She is a part of something much greater than she knows. All things keep leading her back to a truth that is just out of her reach. What will it take for her to openly learn what her role is against Derek?
Can Reese accept who she really is? A fight is coming for her, a fight she can’t escape.
R. S. Broadhead lives in Jackson, Alabama with her husband of ten years, their two little girls, and a pug named Wednesday Love the Duchess, or Winnie for short. She has a bachelor's in psychology and a master's in business administration. She loves to snowboard, travel (Australia is her favorite place so far), and dance (not professionally, just whenever she feels like it). When she was sixteen-years-old, her and her friends would take pictures and make up funny stories about them. Fourteen years later, UNVEILED was born. UNVEILED, her first novel, is the first book in a four book series.
Things just keep getting crazier for Reese Salt. The bad guys just won't let up and after losing one of their own in the ongoing battle everyone is wound tight and the tension is high between Reese and her friends. To make things worse she finds out Derek has set his sights on someone close to her heart and will do anything to bring Reese down. Now she needs to fight through her insecurities so she can unleash her true self to save those she holds dear. But can she do it before it's to late for everyone?
This story keeps getting better and better! The slang talk still drives me a little crazy but I absolutely loved the way the book opens giving a glimpse at the backstory of what did happen and why things are unfolding the way they are. The characters continued to grow on me as they themselves grew into a more complete version of themselves. There is loss but there is also love and the author leaves just enough hope that even though it seems like the bad guys will win in the end maybe just maybe Reese will pull it together and some good will come out of all the pain everyone has gone through. This story continues to keep me guessing and I can't wait to see what happens next! In my opinion Reckoning is definitely recommended.
Ok I have fallen in love all of these character's. The author has done a terrific job with describing each character so you can get a feel as to what kind of person they are and how they all fit together. She has laid out a perfect picture on where this is all taking place and the backgrounds of those we need know about. Can't wait to read third book.
Another great read from R.S. Broadhead. The first novel in this series left the author open to a lot of possibilities, and she had a lot of potential for this plot line. I am really happy with the way that she took it and can't wait to read the third novel in the series!
This story was a lot of chaos, but in a way that it kept you reading. I wanted to know where the story was going to go and is Reese was finally going to come to terms with who she is.
With Derek on the hunt and her life and those around her in danger, Reese needed to sep up. This novel did have a lot going on. Things started to come together so you could see the big picture, but a lot is still up in the air in the end.
I like how the characters became more well rounded in this novella and the dialogue issue was greatly improved. There is a lot packed into a small amount of story here, but it was a really enjoyable read! Can't wait to see what comes next!

It took me a while to realise the previous book I’d read (Torment) actually took place after this book. Unfortunately, knowing more of the background didn’t really help me enjoy this book any more than the other one.
The constant switching between different POVs was really frustrating and made it nearly impossible for me to connect to any of the characters. I couldn’t really understand what was going on with Casey and I felt zero sympathy for her. The choices she made were awful and there was nothing to suggest she’d ever been a true friend.
The prologue at the beginning did help to answer a few questions, but the characters didn’t seem bothered about the danger they were in. I couldn’t picture anyone in my mind and I had no idea of what kind of relationship existed in the group as a whole. They didn’t really seem to care about each other… and there was very little detail about why certain characters (like Fuzz) couldn’t reveal what they knew. If the world was in such danger, ignorance seemed more like a curse.
The romantic aspects didn’t seem to make a whole lot of sense. For someone who was supposed to be in love… Reese just seemed really fickle. If I’d been able to connect emotionally with her, I would have been disappointed in her actions… as it was, I was just waiting for her poor decisions to get her and the rest of her friends killed.
There was little to no explanation about certain things, such as Harley’s abrupt appearance with the rest of his gang. Considering there was no description of any of the characters, all I had to go on were the names of them… and since there were so many ignored until needed for the plot, I spent most of the action scenes trying to figure out who was where and why they were there.
I was disappointed in this book and I felt there was a lot that could be improved. I would have liked to see more background and character development. I wanted to care about the characters… but that was hard to do when they didn’t even care about themselves or each other.
Wow!! I am really enjoying this series and that says a lot coming from someone like me. I usually don't read paranormal/sci-fi stories. I've read 2 other series (6 books total) from this genre that I have actually liked and that's not a good thing considering I've read over 600 books! Although, I'm really happy that I started Unveiled because now I can add 2 more to my list! What I like about it is that it's full of action and has tons of drama. There were times I couldn't put my kindle down and I got so sucked into the story that I often wondered if R.S. Broadhead put a spell on me! Of course, I loved being able to catch up with Reese, Steele, and Sim. I'm still not sure who I like more when it comes between Steele and Sim. My heart broke for both of them at some point in the story and boy do they have a way with words....
"I miss everything about you … about us. Laying on the hood of my truck watching the sun come up, singing Bennie and the Jets at the top of our lungs after we’ve had a couple of beers on those dirt roads, slow dancing with you under an absolutely perfect Alabama night sky while the fire flies float around us. The smell of your hair as it brushes against my nose when I hug you, the sound of your laugh, even the little snort you do when you get really wound up. Your taste, the way you look at me with those blue eyes, your perfect smile, it’s enough to make me weak in the knees."
Or
“My world, this world right here and now, revolves around you. I wanna shelter you from all of this because you deserve better. You deserve to be treated like the queen you are. When all this is over, it’ll be you and me … forever.”
I loved it! As far as the ending, O.M.G!! I did not see that coming, and I can't believe it! I'm so glad that I don't have to wait too long for book 3!! I'm looking forward to seeing how everything is going to play out from here. I just know Reese is going to kick some ASS, and I can't wait to read about it!
In this the second book in R.S. Broadhead’s Realms of Darkness series, Reese Salt’s story continues. It is a continuation where book one left off and expands on the struggle that our heroine has endured since learning of her special gifts. Reese has discovered that everything that goes bump in the night is really to be feared and that part of her is not human! She is being trained to fight and yet, who and what is she? Will she be hunted like those she is being trained by Steele to go after? Will Steele one day have to hunt Reese? Only time and answers will tell!
Reese is a strong willed, alpha female that is conflicted with her role and what is expected from her. Secrets are starting to unfold and keys to understanding the dreams that keep occupying her sleep are opening closed doors. Relationships are being tested, while enemies are identified. Life as she knew it will never be the same and she cannot help but think who can I trust?
If you enjoy reading paranormal romance with a touch of fantasy thrown in this is a great read for you. This book really addresses the questions raised in the first book and unravels them beautifully for the reader. Reading book one is a must to set up for this fast paced thriller. It moves at much faster speed than the previous book. The plot is well developed with twists and unexpected kinks, while the characters roles are more decisively established. ***Received an ARC of this book from the Author in exchange for an honest review***

Reckoning is the second book in the Realms of Darkness series. We are back after with the gang after that final fight in the last book. They are reeling from the death of Liam. Reese is having more dreams and doesn't know what they mean. She is still in love with Steel but as usual there is trouble in paradise. Sim is back in the picture, chasing Reese. Casey is still after Jace and determined to get him away from Shayla. By any means possible even if it means turning to the dark side. Fuzz's part in all this finally comes to light. Then you have another cliff hanger.
The first book I was slow getting into, but this one had me from the first page. So many questions from the first book were answered in this one. Lots of action. A little to much squabbling among the group that causes dissension. At a few points you would think they were back in high school and not in college and fighting demons and monsters. On another note the character development is wonderful. Strong women, alpha males and there personalities stay on track throughout the book You get a view of what is going on from both sides as they story starts coming together. Which really helps fill in the blanks. As to the ending I was on the verge of crying. It really broke my heart on so many levels. So I am hoping all can be redeemed in the next book.
If you love paranormal and fantasy this is a wonderful series to read.
Reese Salt is back at it with her awesome kick butt friends. They are a very interesting group of people that make this story super fun. There is a lot more drama going down in this story than there was in the first one. But what do you expect with a bunch of girls and hot guys! There is bound to be some BF's (B**** Fits). There are a lot of secrets that come out and there is a lot of action that keeps you hooked with riveting excitement.
I love this story it is a fun and thrilling ride with all kinds of creatures roaming about. You never know who you are going to meet. It is definitely not boring it keeps you excited for the next page. The author is very good at keeping the ball rolling and never letting it stall. There have been stories I have read that although the story is exciting there were dead spots but not this story, poor Reese never catch's a break. It seems like her world keeps spinning out of control and when it finally settles it just a facade and it spins again.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, I love the different aspects to this story. You never know if who you meet is another piece to this fascinating puzzle of who is actually a good guy or a demon is disguise. I can not wait to join Reese in the next installment of this story. There are some mature scenes in here but that's just part of the story. Maybe what happened at the end will be another facade and it won' t be true or may cry!! But I'm sure it will be awesome! ;)
**My reviews do not contain spoilers from previous books**
Oh my goodness, this book!! I’m pretty sure I was holding my breath at least half the time. I loved the first book, but this one really steps up everything. There’s more intensity, more training, more danger, more love, more heartbreak, more EVERYTHING.
As book 1 began the set up perfectly, and gave you just enough questions and just enough answers, book 2 goes even deeper. We get a little more history of what’s going on, why, and why/how Reese and each of her friends are involved. I adore all of these characters and all of their individual personalities. They balance each other perfectly, and keep each other in line and make each other laugh just when it’s needed.
This book was so intense in such a good way. There were so many things going at the same time, with Reese and her friends trying to find happiness while trying to come to terms with their new lives. I went through SO many emotions in this book (and possibly a bit too much talking out loud AT the book). I bawled, I yelled, and I was ready several times to kick some butt myself.
Obviously, I won’t give away the end of the book, but it was the most intense ending to a book I’ve read in a long time. It was the middle of the night when I finished, and I still had to read the first chapter of book 3 to find out what happened next. You’ll do the same thing, and love every minute of it when you pick up this book!

Category: paranormal Spoilers: no Book 2 in the Realms of Darkness Series
In this book we pick up right where we left off in the last book in the cave with the team coming to terms with the fact that Liam was killed. Reese has accepted her memories from her childhood self and now she has to move through them and try to understand them. Casey has difficulty dealing with everything that happens. Shayla and Jace have a few problems and so do Reese and Steele. Can they all sort themselves out in time for whatever is coming to a head?
This second instalment was another action packed read. It jumped through time a bit at places but that seemed necessary to the story and we got read bits and pieces from some of the other characters points of view. The cliffhanger on this story left me bawling my eyes out.
I gave this book 4 stars, at times I just wanted to smack the characters over the head for their stupidity but at the same time they were doing things any normal person would without the aid of the whole view a reader has. I am anxious to see how the characters tackle their futures in the next book and I am a hopeless romantic so hoping by a miracle Reese can have her happily ever after with the guy of her dreams, however that may be.
I was give this book for free in exchange for an honest review
The second installment of The Realms of Darkness series sucked me in from page one and has not let me go yet! I am eagerly awaiting the third! If I though the storyline in Unveiled was unpredictable, I don't even know what to call this one. I was so invested in these characters, their stories, their struggles and their happiness. Most villains are made to be disliked, I hated him. There was a point in the book I actually yelled out "NOOOO" because I couldn't believe what had just transpired. I rooted for the blooming relationships, I yelled at anyone who tried to come between the couples. My heart raced as the group had to defend themselves and each other and exhaled when they would survive to fight another day. I can't say much more about this book without spoiling it so I'm going to have to stop here.
I will say this, if you want to read a book that has love, loss, surprise, struggles, angst, treason and disbelief in the storyline, this is the book you will want to read. I'm not kidding. But don't just take my word for it, read it for yourself.
Reckoning is Book #2 in the Realms of Darkness. This series does need to be read in order to truly understand and appreciate what is happening. The plot is very progressive and grows in each book.
Gosh, this is going to be a super hard review to write with out giving away any spoilers. I will try to do my best, but please excuse my vagueness.
Book #1 left off with some very strange twists. Her abusive Ex returns from the dead and she believes she might have a link to "the bad guy". Still very confused on how any of this possible and struggling to find her place in the mix, she seeks answers. After a mission gone wrong the entire dynamics of the crew gets turned upside down. Brace yourself for love, life loss, betrayal, and some super duper messed up twists in the plot every time you turn around. The surprises are frequent and epically devastating.
If I say any more then that I am afraid I will spoil the plot for you, so I will end it with this.. I really enjoyed this book as well as book #1 in the series. R.S. Broadhead is a very talented writer who is able to suck you into the story and keep you on the tips of your toes. I highly recommend this series!
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Reckoning is book two in the Realms of Darkness Series. I recommend you read book one first. Reese tries to come to grips with her recovered memories but learning that she isn't completely human fills her with questions that she is afraid to ask. When problems start to pile up, one of their own betrays them to Derek and Sim moves into the compound causing problems for her and Steele, she decides to leave to try to find answers. Reese doesn't know why she is so important to Derek all she knows is that she has to figure it out quickly to save the people she loves.
Simply saying I loved this book would be an understatement. R.S. Broadhead took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions that I never wanted to end. The fast pace kept me reading all night and at one point I'm pretty sure my heart actually broke. The back story answered a lot of questions from the first book and tied everything together beautifully.
I am definitely a fan of Realms of Darkness and I can't wait for the next book. Roll Tide!!!
I couldn't wait to dive into this book. Reese learned some things about herself in Unveiled (book 1) and now she thinks she is putting the ones she loves in danger. The group dynamic is changing and not for the better. They have already lost on, another is unhappy and ripe to be picked by the bad guys, and Reese is afraid to open up about herself even to Steele. Derek is gathering followers and becoming more and more dangerous. I wasn't sure what to do with Reese in this one. I so bad wanted to reach out and smack her and tell her to trust Fuzz and Steele but the fear of being rejected or a possible threat held her back. I absolutely loved getting Fuzz's back story and more explanation of what was going on. At one point in the book I was furious at the author for the turn of events but had to keep reading to see what happened! The author does a great job weaving her story and I cannot wait to see where all of this leads. It was another 5/5 for me but I cannot believe the way she ended it! I must read the next one NOW!
got everything i wanted & more from this book , it takes over where book 1 left off , Reese & her friends are preparing for what is to come , if only they knew what it was thats actually coming there way . R S Broadhead is not afraid to kill characters off & after losing one of her friends (not saying which ) Reese withdraws into herself a bit & thinks the only way to protect those she loves is to distance herself especially from Steele . things arent made any easier when another friend turns traitor & sets the friends against each other . this book is darker than book 1 & Reese is on an emotional rollercoaster & occassionally gets to let off steam by killing a few monsters , near the end with devastating results , Reese needs to dig deep & find out who she really is & needs to do it on her own .fantastic series that never stops you guessing & has more twists & turns than a maze , bring on book 3
This book was amazing! I loved it! It was a definite emotional roller coaster. But it was great. I loved how it gave the back story to how things are being tied together. We lost some good characters but hopefully we can gain some new favorites. I have cried and laughed with this book. I have felt the emotions through the characters. The only bad thing I have to say is that I wish it was longer. I am ready for the 3rd installment of the series. Lets get it here quickly!
Fist book in these series started slow but picked up towards the end. It is good to say this one is not like that. The back story ties everything together. Emotions run high for the couples and main characters. Its nice to see that they fight help each other and live to fight another day. There is a good blend of love, heartbreak, betrayal, loss and determination.
I purchased this book, because I loved the first one.
Reckoning was shorter than I was hoping for and not as good as Unveiled, but still a good story. This book is a continuation of the story. If you thought Reese's life couldn't get anymore dangerous or messed up, then you are wrong. I recommend both books by R.S. Broadhead.
