Way of the Blade: AEW Edition

Rate this book
In the mid-1990s, Phil Schneider helped create the Internet Wrestling Community as part of the legendary Death Valley Driver Playboys. Their enthusiasm and love for the sport was infectious. Soon enough, disciples were disrupting the narrative status quo at message boards and blogs all over the web. It was a time of discovery, with little seen underground groups suddenly coming to the attention of thousands.

Back on the scene and better than ever, Phil wowed fans with the original Way of the Blade, a gonzo history of wrestling's bloodiest matches. Due to popular demand, the Way of the Blade series returns, focused on the goriest, gruesomest mainstream wrestling promotion in the sport's history—All Elite Wrestling.

Helmed by Tony Khan, once a proud reader of the Death Valley Driver zine, the promotion has returned wrestling to its claret-colored past. Featuring art by Chris "Things" Bryan and conversations with both Khan and his top stars like Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson and MJF, Schneider gets to the heart of this return of the razor—a most welcome development indeed!

If I knew you could write essays about your favorite wrestling matches and get it published as a book I would’ve been pumping out novels since I was 13

Very fun book, idk how much a complete non fan will understand it, in fact it probably looks low key psychotic to write a book about all the times you liked how much someone bled lol but that’s the weird world of wrestling
