My name is Bevin Millen, and everything is a bit too complicated. Yeah, okay, duh, but let me explain. Okay, maybe I can’t really explain it so it makes sense because people would kill to have powerful magic like mine. I understand how cool it is and it’s awesome that it makes toys, treats, and everything for familiars that everyone else can’t. But everyone else can’t. See, that’s the problem. If I’m the only one who can do something, that makes everyone want me for what I can do. Want more from me. Expect more when I keep pulling “miracles” out of thin air especially when I’m behind on magic. So yeah, everything is really complicated, and it’s left me too frazzled. I want to be excited about the brushes. I see the potential and I want to help people, but that normally means more risk even if income means security. And I need the security with all of the threats I have. But I only have a lot of those threats because of what I can do. Complicated. I just feel like if I can catch up to where I’m supposed to be in school and get things better settled with my life, I can handle it all. So why does it always feel like my plans are smoke fading in front of me?
Morrigan University is a spicy reverse harem, university-age paranormal academy series with darker elements, strong language, violence, and a heroine who always does her best no matter what’s thrown at her… While trying to figure out what and who her heart wants.
*This book is part of a series and cannot be read as a standalone. Like all my books, this is not light and fluffy and includes dark themes and events some may find triggering. Reader discretion is advised.
Erin is a born Chicagoan who decided to state hop a bit, given she works from home. She currently resides in Georgia with her pup, Lord Vader Flynn. With an eclectic and addictive personality, there isn’t much that doesn’t interest her or she won’t pour herself into if it catches her fancy. She has always been interested in the darker aspects of life and mythologies—especially vampires, shifters, the occult, and anything paranormal.
To date, she has published more paranormal books than she can keep up with the characters for, in different genres with dedicated readers who await each release to her numerous series under any of the three Flynn names she writes.
DNF at 35% I really really wanted to push through the constant anxiety and trauma dumping to figure out the conclusion of the story because it was an interesting plot but man, it was constant and repetitive and I just couldn't. maybe one day I'll come back and power through but after trying for 3 weeks, it was time to put us both out of our misery.
Well this has become Artemis 2.0. The number of times the h was ‘drowning’ became ridiculous. If reading this book became some sort of drinking game where I had to take a drink every time the h was drowning. I would have been drunk for the entire book.
This book had different POV but I don’t know why the author bothered. Everyone sounds the exact same. I mean the exact same words, tone, pacing, slang etc..
I read the first one Because it sounded interesting. And then the second because…. They were quick and why not.
By the third one, I realized I felt like I was reading the same book over and over again. And why this was also supposed to be a romance, frankly…. I couldn’t tell who the main male characters were supposed to be as there was little to no romance with anyone.
There was a LOT of trauma response.
I mean, we get it. She’s 18, she’s suffered a lot of trauma, blah, blah, blah…. But like every page was her being like, “I’m so dense” and everyone In her life being like “no, you’re not”
Every single page. In every single book And if this was supposed to be a reverse harem… Who could tell. Because frankly their was only chemistry with one male character and it would have been just as good if he was the one fated mate or something bit there was zero romance in any of the four books.
Occasional sleeping around with sub par sex scenes And apparently an entire world built on sexism.
And the books just got worse. I only downloaded the 5th book to see if the series ended And I couldn’t believe that it didn’t
Good grief how could the author keep dragging this out.
I adore the plot line I do so much! I like the characters and the aspects of everything but the development of Bevin. I understand trying to find yourself but alot of times its just like come on dude. You can only be dense to an extent. As an animal love I adore the fact that she is someone who can talk to animals. I guess I just dont really understand how you can have the relationship she does with the animals which act like regular humans and everything but then not around humans in the same sense.
But im 4 books in and Bevin just is stagnant in the way she treats the guys. Im honestly not sure why Derek and Kelton, especially Kelton are love interests honestly. Honestly its very easy to see the author has a favorite and that its winter amd its just disappointing. Bevin has been pissed at every other guy but him for multiple books.
I love the side characters and the action from all different angles especially since im good at guessing plots. It keeps me on my toes. I just really want to like Bevin with the guys.
Eurghh pains me to say it but I did not finish this book. There is no flow, disjointed storylines, hyphenation like there's no tomorrow and it just all makes for a miserable read. I read a lot and I can not for the life of me work out why arc readers and editors aren't picking up on the peculiar writing style. I loved the first 10 books of Artemis but then the writing just felt mixed up and prattled on and became repetitive. Things explained in the most backwards way and hyphens, so many hyphens that disrupt reading they bring nothing to the story “Bev, you’re not dense. You just have a different perspective. (I talked with Mrs. Reid about — I want to be in the session when she talks magical theory with you on Sunday.) Please if someone can enlighten me as to why there is a hyphen in this sentence then please do explain because as far as I can read and understand it brings nothing to the sentence other than makes it harder to read and the story is full of these half sentences. It's not cute or quirky. It's frustrating
Alrighty so I am starting to understand where this is going, but I cannot rate this book any higher due to the amount of anger in this book. I was frustrated. Bevin was frustrated. Everybody was frustrated.
I will say that I am ending this book liking it and looking forward to the next one in the series hoping I get some answers. The thing that made me the most angry was our FMCs reactions to all of her guys. It really doesn’t make any sense that these relationships are lasting, let alone flourishing with some of her reactions, but I understand she is responding from a place of trauma and neglect.
This is really giving me the same vibes That I felt with Tori after reading book 4 of zodiac Academy so I’m just going to wait until the series is finished to make my final judgments on the series as a whole
Much improved from book 3, this book reduced the amount of crying, whining and demolishing relationships. The obstacles were more fitting to the story. I was pleased to see the plot with Clare and Jean. The world construct remains misogynistic, with numerous bright lights hoping for change. There are so many love interests that it's impossible to predict who the circle will be. That's a little confusing, but we did get to know the characters more in this chapter. Personally, I love the parts dealing directly with the familiars and the business. I want to see how the land in Tennessee grows and flourishes. It would also be nice if Bevin could just have a happy, drama less week to relax.
I don’t know if it’s Amazon’s fault or the author, but I waited for this book to begin the series since it was listed as book 4 of 4. The story is not complete. It’s still very well written. I still care about the main character who is finally showing some emotional growth. I also still have trouble identifying who’s POV is being given and there are a lot of characters and familiars, so some way to connect them better or a list of people and their familiars at the end would help. I will probably read the next book in the series depending on how long it takes to be released and whether or not I still remember the details from the series so far.
I really enjoyed this installment of Bevin’s story. I did forget a few things that happened between Kelton and Bevin but then I remembered once Bevin mentioned a bit more why she was upset. This one had a lot of conversations I just wish I understood what Bevin was thinking a little bit more. Or she explained why she was upset a bit more clearly. Overall I did enjoy the book but imo not a whole lot happened. I mean a lot did but not as much as I expected. It ended rather abruptly not in Bevin’s POV but her friend Gloria. And now Gloria knows some things. I’m interested to see where Bevin’s story goes though.
Ok now we're getting somewhere but I'm pretty sure I don't like Bevin. It's not because she's a bad person it's just I don't like how she treats the boys especially Derek. Even tho he was a little pushy but he always has her best interest at heart. She gets mad when they say something she doesn't like forgetting she really lacks the social skills to understand that they didn't mean any harm, like when Kelton told her she needed to talk to someone. Or like when she got mad at Sergey when he wasn't in the bed when she woke up. I know she's trying to help everyone and their familars which is exhausting but she needs to chill a lil bit.💙💙
Yet another perfect continuation from the previous book, that is truly one thing that Erin has nailed down. I love the fact that her friend circle is expanding but obviously everyone will hate that she is facing trouble and hurt over and over again. Bevin just wants to have a life she won’t be normal that was never going to be a possibility but who can blame her for wanting happiness when she never truly knew what that was. Can’t wait until the next one is released please hurry.
Loving this series by Erin. Bevin while still very young in many ways, is starting to find her feet and push back. The relationship with her sisters is taking an interesting turn and can't wait to see what happens as it's been left open to go either way. Bevin's love interests while not over the top in this book are still there and I'm enjoying the progression. Book 4 I could not put down and can't wait for the next instalment.
I loved this book just like her others in this series I started it right after finishing Artemis university and loved that it was similar but different enough to keep me hooked. I cannot wait for more books from this series and I love how she won’t post the release date until like 2 days before it releases so I get a little surprise when I check in to see if a new one is about to be posted!
So glad another book is out, I love Bevin and her guys, as well as all the other characters old and more so now coming into play. Can’t wait to see how they continue to grow in the next book. Even though Erin makes me bawl my eyes out at times for her characters and they go through so much heartache, it’s all to keep the story going and show growth.
I love the characters. They are like the people you want to surround yourself with, knowing it will never be boring. The pranks are epic, the villians vile and the good guys, well they make me want to cheer! The story definitely takes a turn in the Shaw family. Didn't see that coming. Can't decide if the new head is going to be someone we love to hate or is going to come out a hero. Maybe a selfish hero. Love this series and can't wait for more!
Love this series for the kickass strong female character who is a little broken but shares her strengths with others and protects other women from the same suffering she faced all while showing them how to start saving themselves. Plus she is still extremely kind, caring, and loving. Not jaded and mean for the tragic life she lived to this point. Could not put the book down and read it in 10 hours
Ok so I’ve just binged these first four books in this series. What an absolute blast it’s been. Wholeheartedly love this new series! Ms Flynn is on my shortlist of auto read authors!
Be advised that it’s an ongoing story so the books do need to be read in the correct order. This series has definitely got my mind spinning with questions and possibilities. Really looking forward to reading more of this series.
Erin Flynn has provided a fabulous new series that makes my heart happy. Artemis was my favorite of hers and Morrigan is a definite tie! Bevin continues to get stronger. She's been through soooooo much. There are always tears for me in an Erin series. She just makes me feel! I truly appreciate the multiple POVs sprinkled in. It's nice to "hear" from the other characters. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Always an instant pre-order for my library!
I love Bevin. Clare’s character development was awesome. I love that we have an awesome female villain/helpful? Jeans development is interesting as long as she doesn’t go after Bevin or Clare then all bets are off and she will need to die. Thank you, Erin! I hope you and Vader are settling into your new place!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Did you know it's possible to read a whole book in one night with an 8-day-old and a toddler? With enough sleep deprivation, I can confirm it is possible!
This was amazing and I'm so happy reading this series! It's quickly becoming one of my favourites and a big comfort read!
I have a love hate relationship with this author. I love that her series are super long because I get attached to the characters when I read a reverse harem. But at the same time, you end up with ALOT of filling. So again it's a love hate thing. Moreover, her FMC are often over emotional and sucks at relationships. Like lady, you have a buffet of hot men, enjoy!
The more I read about Bevin, the more I am interested in her story. This was a great story with more character building and plot twists. Sadly, it was over too soon for me. The world melted away and I was engulfed in Bevin’s world. Looking forward to reading about the next challenges in her life.
Full disclosure I'm a fan and have read everything she's written under this name. I was skeptical about a new series, but I love how it's developing and how it is so different from Artemis. If you are a fan, give it a chance, and you won't be disappointed.
Not great. Same things over and over. She’s supposed to be a goddess witch with 5 men. Well where the hell are they? Not once is “the mark” mentioned. You could make a drinking game out of how many time she says “fair” and have alcohol poisoning. Also is there a book 5? If not, stupid way to end it and terrible “cliff hanger”
I love Bevin and all her crazy 🤪 If you read this series, it's like Artemis University and the Tantalize series had a baby and this series is the awesome result. If you love supernatural romance novels. With awesome characters you'll love this series! I recommend this series for anyone who loves books that tug at the heartstrings.
The strong female characters who are so relateable and the trama they are working to overcome. This story continues to impress, leaving me waiting for the next book with gleeful anticipation. Can't wait to see how the heroine will change her world for the better and the women who will step up to make it happen.
Ms. Flynn is always fresh and original with her stories. She keeps the continuity throughout each of her series and takes you places that you don't expect. Her characters are real, in that they have (some) serious issues, and you can't help feeling for them; rooting for them to succeed. I can't wait for the next installment of this world!
My second reread of book 4, I love rereading you always catch something new. Now ready to tuck into book 5.
Just wondering am I the only one who wants something to happen between Bevin and Link. I think they would be amazing together with Winter and Sergio. Holding back on the others at the moment
So good. Soooooo good. I cried, I laughed. I wanted to beat up all the horrible people. Bevin deserves all the goodness. As always Erin has created a brilliant ongoing story that leaves you breathless and champing at the bit foe more.
I am really loving this new series. The growth of the characters seems natural and very well written. At the time of this review, the series is not yet finished, and that ok because I will come back for another of these books.
