I loved this book - it was like 8 parts animal facts, 2 parts personal storytelling... The theme revolves around, as you'd expect, pregnancy and parenthood. I've been fascinated with the animal kingdom since forever, so any book about animals is welcomed, but this touched on a niche that I had yet to stumble upon. I'm not sure how much I will remember as time goes on, but needless to say it was an interesting read. The book follows the 40 weeks of the average human pregnancy gestation period, each chapter depicts another week, where the author introduces animals whose reproduction somehow relates to that week - whether that is, eggs hatching, giving birth, or reaching adulthood. It is a touching reminder of just how we fit in to the greater world.
