I made it to the end of the Sister Bells trilogy books! I was inspired to read the series after hearing the author speak at the Auckland Writers Festival. The 3rd book was the longest and most drawn out but with such a good story why not give the reader more content. I enjoyed reading about Norwegian folk lore and village life in the mountains.

Wow.
I just finished and almost ready to go back to The Bell in the Lake and start again (will do that when have time to just read straight through). need to read something mindless now as not ready to let go of some of the incredible personalities here.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and haven't yet read the first two of the trilogy. It's a gripping story. I am definitely going to read them. This book gave me some insights into rural Norwegian society and culture, from whence some of my ancestors came.

Magnificent trilogy. Even after 3 volumes and 1400 pages, I lament saying goodbye to these characters and their world.

I haven't read a trilogy I loved like this in a very long time. Couldn't put it down. Loved the characters, the setting, the writing, the history....
