This was pretty good. Nothing amazing but a solid read.
For being a Regressor novel it really lacked what makes these novels extra cool. The constant insider knowledge that allows an MC to constantly get cool gear, titles, classes, etc. none of that happens here. For the most part he is just better informed about things in general.
Like I said, it was enjoyable, just lacked the aspects I have come to expect from novels in the Regressor sub-genre.
Santi is rather charmless, and he doesn’t really have any friends to lift the story up, either. This is one of those ones where I suspect people would behave like this in real life to some extent, but it just isn’t fun to read. Plus the battles are all of the “but what if I punch even harder” variety and I don’t enjoy that.
