The preternatural world is changing. After a massive magical throwdown tore apart the established order, the dark elements are rebuilding their ranks unopposed. Celia Wird’s world is changing, too. She’s the mate of the pureblood were Aric, and his Warriors are honor-bound to protect her family as she and her sisters recover from unimaginable horrors.
Celia hesitates to reveal the true extent of the Wird sisters’ trauma, but they aren’t the only ones keeping Aric and the werewolf Elders are tracking a stone that grants limitless power. So is a tough coven of witches. Then Misha, a master vampire with his own plans for the stone, sends Celia after it. Can she and the vamps beat both the weres and the witches to the treasure before it falls into the wrong hands?
Fearing for Celia’s safety, Aric begs her to stay out of the hunt. What they don’t realize is that they’re the ones being hunted. But Celia’s ready to prove that she’s not easy prey.

After a topsy turvy run, Celia and Aric’s story reached its zenith in A CURSE UNBROKEN, and as much as I have enjoyed their adventures, it was high time for these two to ride off into the sunset. Happily-ever-afters (or in their case for-now) don’t come easy in Urban Fantasy, and Cecy Robson certainly didn’t don kid gloves for this couple’s last dance. No, instead she poured salt on old wounds, and ripped them a new one!
I really liked how the elements in this book came together. The weres, vamps, and witches were neck-and-neck from start to finish in the race to acquire the stone (Shah), Taran & Gemini’s relationship is on shaky ground which set things up nicely for OF FLAME AND PROMISE, and the Wird sisters’ origins came full circle in a surprising plot twist that revealed that there’s bigger things at work than just the Alliance/Tribe plot arc.
This installment was basically Celia’s biggest nightmare incarnate. On the tail end of the worst pain she’s ever endured, Wird gets dealt SO MUCH hurt in this novel that Emme’s healing light couldn’t keep up, not to mention the gory visuals that the author seared into my retinas—a sea of arms anyone!? And, if none of that was enough to gut you, Robson dredged up a horror from Celia’s past, and managed to make it TEN TIMES WORSE!
However, as much bad as there was, there was plenty of good too. Shah, for one, was darned amusing, and considering he’s a rock, that’s saying something. There’s also, I suspect, something brewing between Bren & Emme which made me super happy because she’s been hung up on the Liam thing for too long. Honorable mention goes to sparkly Celia and her tinkling nipples—oh, and don’t forget the naked cartwheels. You had to be there. LOL
A CURSE UNBROKEN was like getting a warm hug after getting pulverized by a blender.
A Curse Unbroken is Celia and Aric's final book but the Wird Sister's adventure in the world of magic, shape shifters, vamps and witches is no where close to ending. Cecy Robson did another magnificent job with this novel. It was equally hilarious, heart breaking and action filled romance story.
Yes, Celia and Aric has gone through quite a bit of hell but in this book they will finally get their happy-ever-after. Of course, Cecy Robson will not make easy on them.
This book started right when A Curse Bloodline had ended but with just a little overlap of the stories. There were suppose to be a happy-ever-after, instead, there was complete chaos to ruin the moment. Evil yet again threaten everyone's lives and targets them at their most vulnerable state. The Question is, can they handle another problem so soon? Of course they can. Celia and Aric have never been stronger. Despite the hardships in this installment, I felt their unity. It was a sweet beginning and even a sweeter end. This may be their HEA book but I have a feeling we will see more of them.
I can't help but feel afraid for Taran and Gemini's relationship. Ms. Robson gives us a glimpse of what's to come but I'm sure the little preview we get didn't even touch the surface. As far as Emme, well, I feel like a whole monkey was lifted off my shoulder. I couldn't bare the heartaches she wentg through. I can already tell that it's going to be a heart wrenching story.
This is one of those series that stays with you, the type that you think about long after you have put the book down, long after it is over and way more than you should. It is the type that leaves you wanting for more because you weren't ready for it to be over and it sadly and truly, makes it almost impossible to pick up something else up afterward because you just know it won't compare with the greatness you just devoured.
This is a series that I am very sad to see end, even though I know the spin off is going to be just as great. I love the Wird sisters and while I agree that it is time to hear their stories, it is going to be so very hard to say goodbye to Alric and Celia and because of that, I wanted to cherish every minute of this read. I wanted to read it slowly over time but with all books Cecy, that just didn't happen.
I did cherish it and I did appreciate it but of course I also had to devour it.
Cecy never ceases to amaze me how she can break my heart one chapter and have me laughing out loud the next (sparkly Celia, I am talking about you!).
I knew this was going to be a hard read, an emotional read but I still wasn't prepared for it. How do you say goodbye to a couple that you adore? To those characters who are now like family, the very best kind of family, the ones you choose rather than the ones you were stuck with?
I don't want to give anything away but this was a bittersweet read. One filled with a whole lot of emotions, mine and theirs and I loved every single minute of it. I couldn't have asked for a better ending. One still undetermined but one filled with love and hope as well.
I am so satisfied with Celia and Aric and their happily ever after. But more than that, I am excited that this isn't it. There is still so much left to do because evil is put at bay and I am excited to take that next step, that next adventure with the next sister.
My first thoughts on this book were literally- MIND BLOWN. I love this series, it's such a fun lighthearted read with a great plot. This story in particular pulls you in from the very beginning, which really helps to immerse you in the characters world. Celia is as always the tough sister that's gonna get the job done, I'm so glad in this book her relationship with Aric is far more solid than in previous books. She's definitely pushed to the breaking point in this one, from her wild emotions to her losses, she just soldiered on. I love the fact that Celia's story ends on a high note, because I have a feeling the next book is going to play center stage to her sisters.
I honestly thought the writing itself and the story telling was even better as well. The mix of paranormal romance and urban fantasy come together perfectly. This isn't a real dark book, it's got a lot of action and surprises though. Of course, your still gonna get that trademark Wird sisters humor in this book, which really does add to the story. I'd definitely recommend this book to fans of UF/PNR who want something on the fun side of that genre.
I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
3 stars Aric is still a douche, but he's back together with Celia. He is a hypocrite and spends this whole book asking her to go back to her day job as a nurse vs saving the world. Seems silly since she saved his hide multiple times and he's still out killing baddies.
This book has a find the genie type of plot, except it's a magical rock that grants wishes and has a personality. I enjoyed Shah, the rock, and his antics. He was the most interesting character. Problem is everyone wants to get ahold of this rock and use it, so baddies are after them.
More time spent fighting baddies and an unknown threat...which I guessed in the first chapter. It was a blatantly evident thing that happened that no one noticed till it showed itself as the evil. That whole plot I wasn't interested, only how it pertained to Shah.
Nice ending and this concludes Celia's books, they'll now be about her sisters. Book 6 and 7 are about Taran.
It is always a treasure to find a writer that creates amazing story, much more a series of stories that I absolutely fell in love with and left me on book high! It’s like Christmas all over! :D
I am so in love with this series. My favourite still by far is the fourth book of the series just cause it has so much angst I thought my heart would explode! Can you imagine? Hehe, kidding.
But still, the series-story is continues, it is fast paced, action-packed, a thriller, tugs on my heartstrings and so so funny. And it does keeps getting better and better!
I love the Wird sisters. Each has their own unique characters and gifts. Then there's the Were they are paired with that are oh so hot and adorable. But, since this is more about Celia and Aric, I'd have to say, I love them the most! For now. :)
And speaking of Celia, the heroine… could this girl not get a break! The poor thing! Then as much as I adore Aric, he does need to get hit in the head sometimes. But I can never stay mad at him, so all is forgiven. Let’s hug it out Aric my loves. Hehe.
I won’t say more, except that, I HIGHLY recommend and I can’t wait for what Cecy Robson is gonna write next!
Oh, I would easily rate this 5 stars, it's just that, it has to be at par or more with book 4, and that book was just, way way up over the hill, gonna be harder to top that. But who knows? Series not over yet and thank God cause I want more!
We had gone through many emotional states in the previous volume. Oh yes because Cecy Robson really had not been kind to her characters and that is also why we suffered with them. I was therefore really curious about the events there, to see how the sisters would be able to evolve after all the changes in their lives. In addition, you must know that this is the last novel featuring Celia as a main character and we will turn now to the other sisters. I am also eager to see how the transition will be made.
Beginning the story, I admit that I was a bit lost in the first pages. I must say that from the first sentences, events keep coming before we really have the time to really understand what is happening. This is not really a problem but it’s true that I did not really expect that. Once past the surprise, we’re caught in the history, we also welcome back all our dear characters and we watch them facing the trials of the previous novel. No one will be spared by that matter! Indeed, Taran and Gimini have some serious problems in their relationship as the woman mismanages the loss of her arm and the consequences. This is something that really broke my heart because we don’t expect something to break them this way and we hope throughout the story that everything will work out very fast. But of course, we focus a little more on Celia and Aric as always. Ah, our two characters have to face a lot of things and when you think it’s over, it’s to start again thereafter. No respite ounce is granted and we perfectly feel it. Both in the moods’ changes and the strange attitudes, and even if we understand that something is wrong, we will actually have to wait for the end of the story to find out what really happens.
Aric is rather insisting on the fact that Celia has to give up her job to go back to work at the hospital, something that does not appeal her at all. Understandably, he hopes she will be safer, but we also understand her because this is not something very interesting in the end. Yet they will both end up looking for a stone of great power, each for a different faction and I was curious to see how it was going to end. Oh yes, because the author has many surprises about it. I also did not expect to appreciate that much this stone so intriguing and different.
As you can see, Cecy takes us once again into an insane pace! The sisters are evolving, changing and finally trying to find their place. Enemies that we do not expect appear and I was very curious to see how it would end. Relationships are formed, some break, some get stronger and I‘m anxious to see what will happen to them afterwards. So many things here, we’ll even get to see Misha and his girls, though it’s not a lot and I loved seeing them each time.
This is a series to discover and it now remains for me to wait and see for the sequel.
Four and a half stars: Another solid, action packed Wird Sister adventure.
Celia and Aric are reveling in all their time together. They seem to have overcome their obstacles, and they are finally together. Just when things are perfect, another paranormal disaster strikes. Aric, Celia and the pack are attacked on the shores of Tahoe by three dangerous and formidable shapeshifters. It turns out an old and deadly power is about to expire and if this powerful object ends up in the wrong hands, the world could be doomed. Unfortunately for Celia and Aric, the danger hits too close to home and before long, Celia, Aric and everyone she loves are drawn into a life or death battle. Can Celia and Aric once again overcome the odds? What I Liked: *Whew! Another exciting thrill ride from beginning to end. I never can get enough of the Wird Sisters, and each installment in this series has proven to be an adrenaline fueled thrill ride. I loved all the action in this one, but more than that, I appreciated the strong romance. Even though this book is the finale for Aric and Celia, I think the two deserve a long earned respite, and so I am okay to let them go for now, but eager to hear Taran's story. If you are a fan of this series, this is a must read, and if you haven't yet picked up the series, now is the perfect time because you can do some serious binge reading. *At the heart of the story is the strong bond between Aric and Celia. Even though the two have been through hell and back, their love remains the force the drives them. I have long been a fan of the romance in this one, despite the odds and the drama. I was relieved and happy to see how it all played out and ended. If any couple is going to make it, Celia and Aric will. If you like a sizzling hot romance with lots of action and hurdles, get this series. *This book took a different stance compared to previous books. In this one, it is the alliance of good battling the forces of evil, but in a different way. I can't get into specifics, but I liked the tone and story line of this book. It was unique. I also liked seeing the witches, vampires and werewolves working together. *Speaking of witches, this was the first time that we have seen the good witches play a strong role in the story. There have been plenty of wicked witches, but this time the good witches play a big and important part in helping to fight the evil. I liked the addition of the witches, and I am hoping they will have a strong presence in the next books. *Ms. Robson's books always have intricate story lines with many side stories, and this one is no exception. I liked the inclusion of the side stories, and I appreciated that they were setting up the stories in the spin off books. This time around Taran is struggling with her powers and her relationship, and I was just itching to know more, but I am going to have to wait. A new fledgling romance is in the works, and I am eager for more of that one as well. *The ending was satisfying and conclusive as far as Celia and Aric go. I know that will still be making appearances in the other books, and I am relieved that their torment seems to be over. This book concluded most of their story, and tied off loose story threads on the sister's past and their origins, while setting in place exciting threads for the next book which is all about Taran. I liked this final book for Celia and Aric, and I am more than excited for Taran's book. And The Not So Much: *As I mentioned, Taran is dealing with some big issues, and consequently, she is a shadow of her former self. I missed her brash, crazy humor. The book wasn't the same without her mouthing off and getting into trouble. Still, I understand why, and I know it was done to set up her story. I have grown used to Taran's comedic relief and I missed it. Not to mention, there was only one encounter with Mrs. Mancuso the nosy neighbor, I wanted more of that wackiness as well. *While I enjoyed the bigger role of the witches, that excluded Misha a bit. He does make his appearance at the end, but for the most part his role is diminished in this one, and I missed the posturing between he and Aric. The school girl vamps are still there so they helped make up for Misha's absence. *Danny and Bren had small roles in this one as well. I am hoping they will have large roles in Taran's story. *I was a bit frustrated that after everything Celia and Aric have weathered that there were a few moments in this one where they revisited the same romantic issues they have been grappling with from the the beginning. I didn't like that these issues once again reared their ugly heads. Thankfully, it is short lived.
A Curse Unbroken is a thrilling conclusion to Aric and Celia's story. I loved the danger, the action, the romance and the reveals. I have been a fan of this series from the beginning, and I was satisfied with this final installment in Aric and Celia's story. I am pleased though that this journey is not yet over as Taran is waiting in the wings with her story. I cannot wait to see what Taran has in store. If you have not yet picked up The Weird Girls Series, now is the perfect time as you can binge read all five of the books before the spin off series starts. This is one of the best new series I have read, and I highly recommend it.
Favorite Quotations: "What you should have told me was that you were my sun that rises to the morning and the moon that makes me howl at night. That you were more than I ever needed, or desired in a mate."
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated for this review.
A Curse Unbroken is the fifth and finally tail in the Weird Girls series by Cecy Robson. CRobson finishes Celia’s story, but opens it up to tell Taran’s tail, so even though this is the last book we will still get more of the Weird sisters.
I have been a fan of CRobson since the beginning. She has created these strong independent amazing women that captured my heart. The Weird Sisters are a force to be reckoned with. I love that they stick together, love fiercely, and fight for themselves and those they love.
A Curse Unbroken brings us no shortage of action, suspense, mystery, surprises & emotions. Finally Celia and Aric will get their HEA, but it does not come easily. They still have the Tribe and others trying to destroy them. Something from the Weird sister’s past has come to destroy them and they will have to face that past. All the sister's are suffering in some way from their past and from what Anara did in A Cursed Bloodline, so it’s no easy road for them to recover and be happy. I liked that we got to see the Weird girls past, what happened to them, and their parents. I also enjoyed the struggles that each character in A Curse Unbroken goes through, it's a highly emotional and heartbreaking to read. CRobson has also set us up for Taran and her story. Things are going on with her and Gemini. Also something is going on with Bren and Emme. I hope we get to see what.
As always this was an emotional read, but one I loved. I can’t wait to return to this world and the Weird sisters.

A Curse Unbroken is the 5th book in the Weird Girl series by Cecy Robson. This one takes place where the last book, A Cursed Bloodline, left off. Once again Celia, Aric and the gang don’t have it easy. Tempers are short and the tension is high. Relationships are called into question as enemies insidiously work against them. But don’t fret it’s certainly not all dome and gloom. There is wit aplenty and laugh out loud moments you’ll look back on with a smile or a chuckle. The cartwheel scene, for one, is absolutely hilarious!
A Curse Unbroken is a delightfully entertaining read that you’ll find hard to put down. I especially enjoyed the banter and heartfelt moments. There is a darker side as well with vicious enemies, violent attacks and a dangerous mission. It’s an interesting story with a lot going on. The characters are put to the test and they valiantly prevail. I enjoyed seeing Aric and Celia put heart and determination into their relationship.
The secondary characters are a strong component in this series and add much to the story. I liked reading about Celia’s sisters and their mates. Emma and Bren seem to be quietly growing closer, while Gemini and Taran’s relationship stews in turmoil. Koda and Shayna add stability and fun.
I really liked A Curse Unbroken. The book as a whole was quite well done. My favorite part though was the ending. It’s long awaited, romantic and sweet. I loved it and I’m sure fans of the series will be delighted as well.
A Curse Unbroken and the Weird Girl series is recommended to fans of urban fantasy.
*ARC (Advanced Review Copy) received from the publisher, Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept, via NetGalley.
I am one of the biggest fans of this series and this book is definitely the proof! I loved everything in it and the Wird sisters are total badass and they are on my list of my favorite characters! I am not going to write a long review because it would be full of spoilers but I have to tell you this: If you are a fan of urban fantasy then you should read this series RIGHT NOW!!!
This is the last book about Celia and the next one??? It's Taran's!!!!!!!!!!!!
The last book in the series was a real humdinger. Celia went to hell and back along with the rest of the gang and I'm still recovering from that one. As a result, I was a bit tentative going into this latest story though I wanted it bad. Celia and her Weird Girl sisters deliver some real sizzle and pop in these books.
This is not a series to read out of order. Each story builds on the ones before to the point of serious spoilerage if the reader skips ahead.
Celia and Aric, along with the others, have taken a long time to recover from the damage done to them in their last adventure by an evil, vengeful person who betrayed everyone. In some ways, there will never be a full recovery because the loss was so great. Evil doesn't give a time out while the good guys take a breather and it definitely doesn't play nice just because Aric wants to do something sweet for Celia. In the middle of a romantic fun moment, shape-shifters attack pushing everyone to fight for their lives. There are no outward casualties on their team, but its not long before Celia suspects that something is terribly wrong. Aric isn't himself, she's confused and angry at the wrong things, Taran is having terrifying nightmares again and her relationship with Gemini is all, but severed. No one can sense what is causing it all, but Celia feels watched. If that wasn't enough, word comes of a powerful sentient magical stone that everyone on both sides of the equation are after. Aric wants Celia to stay out of it because he fears losing her, but she can't sit back and let him and others go into danger alone. Aric and his team of Weres and Celia with her sisters and the vampires race to take control of a stone that may not want to be taken and found even while something else slithers in the shadows and bides its time. Celia and Aric have gone through so much to be together and now they have another fight on their hands that might be the one to break them.
This story didn't go as dark as the one before leaving Celia struggling, lost and aloof from the rest of the characters. I found this a big deal because for me the cast of characters around Celia are a strength of the series. The four sets of sisters, Misha and his vamps, Aric and his wolves and lordy let me not forget Mrs. Mancuso the neighbor. Everyone was there to lend their bit of cray-cray. Taran's insane anger and bitterness directed at Gem and Genevieve the head witch with the goddess body. The 'Catholic school girl' vamps dressing Celia and Emme up as high price hookers making Aric nearly swallow his tongue. Misha and his collection of scandalicious portraits offering Celia refuge while thumbing his nose at Aric. And Mrs. Mancuso hosing down the whore Wird sister neighbors for some serious party girl action going on next door. And Celia? This girlfriend cut a lotta loose when she accidentally imbibes some good stuff with her new pal making me roar with laughter.
Now, not that things didn't get scary real because they do. Celia has new enemies and she is as big a trouble magnet as ever: I was bleeding, I was hurt, and I was about to get torn to pieces by three vampires and a ninja werelynx. Terror should have gripped me by the throat. Fear should have chilled my bones. Horror should have released my screams. Instead my only thought was, Oh God, I'm naked! It wasn't a rational thought, but don't judge me. I'd just been thrown across a room and embedded into cinder block. Loc. 2379 Celia from A Curse Unbroken
One of the things that has bugged me for a while about this series is the sense of resignation I have felt in the characters over their romance. Aric is a wolf so he instinctively follows chain of command. He is also a person shrouded in a strong sense of duty and loyalty. Loving Celia is the one aberration in his life. Through the series, he has been forced to choose and as a good leader, he denies himself and in so doing, Celia. While I sorta applauded this, it does nothing for my romantic heart that screamed at him wanting just once for him to tell everyone to go to blazes and that he was claiming Celia- that he was choosing Celia first instead of her forced to feel like the dirty secret, the problem and the poor trash from the wrong side of the tracks. In this book, I finally got to see a more romantic hero in Aric. He struggles with his fears of losing Celia, but he doesn't just sit back quietly and let fate and others push him and Celia apart. He fights for them.
Aric snatched me into his arms when I shot forward, the scent of his clean aroma and the heat from his body easing my remaining fear. He whispered soft wolfish words, comforting my tigress. I didn't understand the words, but understood the vow within the soft tones. He would protect me, even if it cost him his life. Loc. 3116 Celia from A Curse Unbroken
Now, this book ends the story arc that is Celia and the next book moves on to Taran. There are actually a few stories building in this one. Taran and Gemini along with a surprise for Emme were subtle in the last book, but in this one their secondary plot threads come on strong and give a taste of what's to come. I can't wait. As much as I want Taran's story, it is the promise of Emme's that has me salivating. Now that kids, will be all sorts of fun, I think!
To sum up, this was a strong response book to the last one. Celia picks up the pieces nicely and is back in action. All the usual characters are right there with her. The heat and passion between Celia and Aric are off the charts satisfying. And the playfulness blended with the intensity was back. Fans of Urban Fantasy that is tough hitting, passionate, fantastic in the worldbuilding while laced with humor should take the plunge with the Weird Girls series.
My thanks to Net Galley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
A Curse Unbroken is a modern day book filled with magic beyond belief and I loved it. It is filled with action, mystery, romance, and dialogue that will have you rolling. Cecy has created yet another amazing installment of the Weird Girls series, and I can't say that I'm surprised! I loved every part of this book. I was so happy and ecstatic that I got an ARC of A Curse Unbroken that I read it in one sitting. I stayed up until 6 AM to finish it because I couldn't put it down. I refused to, and I am so glad I did. I was sitting in my room after I finished it with tears streaming down my face in happiness and sadness. Happy tears because Celia and Aric got what they deserved. They got their happy ending. Sad tears because I'm going to miss them. This is the end of Celia and Aric’s journey, but it isn't the end for the other Wird sisters’ journey. I cannot wait to see what else Cecy has in store for them because I have loved this roller-coaster ride so far, and I'm not likely to stop now. One of the many reasons I love it so much is because this story is pure creativity. From Celia and her sisters' powers, to the evil forces Celia has to battle, they aren't like anything I've ever read about. All of Cecy’s books are full of original creativity.
I really liked how Cecy started out by reiterating the epilogue from the last book in the first chapter. Instead of starting where she left of, she takes us back to where the last book ended. It really helped me remember where the story ended. Sometimes in a series it's easy to forget what has happened in the past books. We started off kicking and screaming, literally, and that was when I knew that the rest of this book was going to keep me on edge. Reading about Celia and Aric, her sisters and the pack, Misha and his crazy vampires, was like coming home. I have been on this journey with them for a year and I still love it, 5 books later. A Curse Unbroken had me laughing my butt of at 4 AM until I cried one minute and feeling like my heart was going to explode the next. I will tell you this; Cecy has a way of pulling at the heart strings. I feel like Celia is a part of me now, and all that she has been through just tears at me. My heart hurts for her and it stills does throughout this book. Tears were shed. I cried. I sobbed. Those last two chapters had me sobbing because I was so happy. This series will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you Cecy, for this series and for Celia's story. This book gains a spot on my “favorites” shelf and five stars from me.
I'm such a fan girl when it comes to this series, from the minute I pick up any of these books I'm completely sucked into the world Cecy Robson has created and I get really irritated when real life gets in the way and makes me stop reading for any reason. This series has been full of humour from the very beginning but after the last book, which was somewhat darker, I really, really appreciated the hilarious opening couple of chapters to A Curse Unbroken. I'm not going to give you any hints about what happens but I will say that it's the kind of disaster that only Celia could have happen to her and I was practically crying with laughter. Although the story starts on a humorous note there are also some really sweet and heartfelt moments as well as all the action and tension that you'd expect from one of these books.
Celia and Aric have been through hell and back but their happily ever after was never going to come easily and they're not about to be able to walk into the sunset without at least one last major battle. I'm not going to say too much about the plot but I will tell you that A Curse Unbroken ties up all the lose ends to Celia and Aric's story, it isn't the last book in the series but it's the last that will be from Celia's point of view (for now anyway!) and her sister Taran will take over the lead role in the next book. I'm absolutely thrilled that we're going to get to know Taran, and eventually the other sisters, better - they're all still reeling from the emotional roller coaster that they've been on and now they've got to start trying to put their lives back together again.
A Curse Unbroken is a fantastic instalment to the series, it will keep you hooked from beginning to end and will leave you with a massive smile on your face. We get so many hints at what could be to come for the whole Weird family and I'm so glad that this series is still going strong. I definitely can't wait to get my hands on the next instalment!
I haven't read the previous books in this series which can be a risk, particularly when there have been several, but I've read Cecy Robson before, I like her writing and the blurb grabbed me me. Yes, I struggled a little at the start to keep up, a lot happened, it was fast paced and it's apparent that a lot has occurred in the previous books. With a plethora of characters, each with varying abilities and unique personalities, I was somewhat what concerned that I was going to struggle with the who's who. But this wasn't the case; I quickly became acquainted with each one and it became a book I struggled to tear myself away from.
"Destiny had other plans."
Pure blood were-shifter, Aric Connor, and Celia Wird, one of the Weird sisters cursed with supernatural powers, are an endearing, passionate couple who have suffered pain and loss and their love for one another is stronger for it. But with dark elements waiting in the wings, the strength of their relationship is about to be tested...
"I don't want to ask, but I need to know. Are you afraid of me?"
Cecy Robson has a writing style that grabs regardless of the genre she writes. Her books bring emotion and A Curse Unbroken has left me wanting to go back and start this series from the very beginning. Filled with magic, mystery and intrigue I couldn't predict how the story would unfold, and with fabulous humour, intimacy, blood and gore added to the mix, I couldn't have asked for much more.
If an edgy romantic urban fantasy that keeps you on your toes throughout is what you're after, then A Curse Unbroken is a book I highly recommend.

This book takes up were book 4 leaves off, with Aric trying to propose to Cilia on the beach. You find out what happened after that story ended and trust me it’s not good. The darkness that has found them once again but this time it’s in a new form, a form that is so different from anything that they have ever battled, one they aren’t even aware of it until it’s almost too late. While they are being tracked and manipulated all of the supernatural are also tracking something. A stone that is so powerful that if it falls into the wrong hands could very well meant the end that the weres are fighting so hard to prevent.
This book brought me to tears so many times because my heart broke for what the sisters have gone through and what they continue to go through every day. Celia and Taran are still battered and continue to struggle after their throw down with Anara, the werewolf elder. Celia, while able to heal on the outside continues to struggle with the loss her child and the fact that she can never conceive again and Taran, whose arm was ripped off, has lost control of her power. To make matter worse though, she has lost the confidence that she once had and feels that her mate Gemini no longer wants her and pushes him away.
This is by far one of my favorite paranormal series out there today. It’s an amazing story with quick witted butt kicking females that rope you in so hard that you never want the story to end but you really need to start at the beginning in order to truly grasp what these girls have been through. The stories honestly get better and better and this one was my favorite so far because for now, they truly have a happy ending and Celia gets the one thing that she had given up hope of ever having again.
brilliant book, my favourite of the series, I loved how it all comes together and the story is not what I expected. we see a old enemy return, loved ones being possessed and trying to kill Celia, unlikely allies, a hell of a lot more kick ass action, we meet the famous Shah. so much going on there's no way for you to put the book down so I suggest making sure you have a lot of time on your hands you will need it.
I find that Celia grows stronger and fiercer in this book, she has her moments where she feels like giving up but she won't, can't and to be honest girls been though a war zone and God knows how many attempts on her life and she's still kicking ass, go Celia. we also see how strong Aric and Celias connection is and the love they feel for each other which you can't help but love and envy lol,
the way the author has wrote this book is genius, we really connect and feel for Celia and what she's going through, we can't help but mourn for her, feel embarrassed for her, worry about her and want her to catch break and get her happy ever after. this books answers a lot of questions about the girls past and also we see an enemy come full circle. there's no way I could have imagined who was behind it all and I really enjoyed how the book wrapped up, I also have a feeling this isn't the last we will see of the girls and their Wolf's :) brilliant storyline, fantastic characters. a must read series
This is the fifth book in this wonderful series, and can be read as a standalone. I love this series and Cecy Robson’s masterful writing. It made me laugh so hard I thought I was going to do myself an injury, and then the next moment something would happen that would be devastating. A Curse Unbroken is a rollercoaster of excitement, humor and heartbreak. It is unadulterated reading bliss.
The Review:
A moment of quiet and happiness is torn apart in an instant. Dark elements are rebuilding their ranks without opposition. Everything in the preternatural world is changing after the massive throw down tore apart the established order. And now a stone of un-limitless power is being hunted by every supernatural force out there, and Misha wants Celia to get it for him. Celia and her sisters haven’t fully recovered and no one knows the full extent of their trauma. Aric wants Celia to drop out of the race as he fears for her life, but very soon it becomes obvious that the stone is not the only thing being hunted, and Celia must prove she’s no easy prey. But when nothing is as it seems, knowing who to trust in this deadly race can get you killed.

Celia and Aric can’t seem to catch a break. They’re still trying to recuperate from the vicious attack by Anara, an elder. Celia is mourning the loss of her unborn child and trying to get over the fact that she will no longer be able to have children. The nasty scars reminder her constantly of what she’s truly lost. Thankfully Aric is supporting her and showing her love and kindness. But things are never easy and someone is always lurking in the shadows trying to take out Celia. Both Aric and Celia are tasked with a mission to find a stone that grants unlimited power to its current owner. The race is on because the stone is losing its power and whoever is the last to make a wish could tip the scales for the good guys or the bad. Aric is trying to convince Celia to sit this one out but she is determined to prove to everyone that she is no fragile glass that needs to be constantly protected. Celia is tough and wants the world to know it. Celia is also being attacked from an unknown entity and this time she has no clue if they will survive the chaos.
I just cannot get enough of all the crazy. The storyline is coming together brilliantly. And O.M.G there are parts of the story that are sad and heart breaking but then there are parts that made me laugh my a$$ off. Seriously, I’m loving this series!!
I was a very lucky girl and got approved by net galley for this book! I don't know how I would have lasted until March to read it if I hadn't!
Cecy delivers again! I loved this, it had it's emotional moments that made a real impact as painful memories from the sisters pasts were brought to the surface because of a malicious entity which targeted them and fed off their pain.
This same entity alongside a surprise enemy who's real identity was a real twist, tried to come between Aric and Celia and split not just them but their friends and Celia's sisters as well. This entity was infecting them all by the end but of course our group finds a way to defeat it but not before going through a lot of pain and suffering.
I love how things ended for Aric and Celia as they finally (as promised) get their happy ending considering this book brings Celia's current story Arc to an end and Taran's begins in the next book. I'm really looking forward to that as now Taran and Gemini have me worried as things are still bad between them in this book. I don't know how long Taran's story arc will be but I hope we get Emme's soon after as I have serious suspicions concerning her and Bren!
I can't tell you how I excited I was when I was approved by Netgalley for this! Celia & Aric are finally together. But of course, there will always be a wrench thrown in to mess it up. They search for a mystical crystal that grants the holder wishes. And each encounter had me laughing. Naked cartwheels? Oh my, I almost died! This is one of those books that I had to force myself to put down. You know to do those annoying things like......shower, get dressed & eat. Just like the last book, this had non stop action that kept me turning the page for more. I laughed and cried, and I loved every minute of it!
**I received a copy of this ARC for an honest review**
This was the final book for Celia and Aric in the Weird Girls world. While some of it was predictable, I was happy with how it ended. While in the last book, the author had Celia basically separated from everyone else, in this one, she is separated from what makes her a "weird girl". She is, for the most part, totally human as she goes through everything. With the help of a special being, she is able use her brain to eventually defeat this final evil, which also makes her have to deal with her past. I was glad that she and Aric finally got their happy ending. I can't wait for the next saga.
Another phenomenal book!! I'm am never let down by this author, the books keep getting better and better. The characters are fantastic, each sister has a pull that suck you in and I can not out the book down. The ever growing love story of Celia and Aric has had many twist and turns, and I have laughed, cried and been angry throughout the series. I hope to read more from this author and soon, she is quickly rising to my top authors list.
Take a journey into the world od shape shifters and supernatural beings. it is a non stop drama and action packed story, filled with amazing characters and storyline. I enjoyed every minute it took to read this book. Excellent!
Good follow up considering how epic A Cursed Bloodline was. I suppose this is the end of Celia'a POV to give way to Taran's arc, which I'm very excited for.
