There isn’t much that Jillian Noble can resist when it comes to her sexy, gorgeous husband, Dean. She’s become very independent in her daily life, but privately, behind closed doors, Jillian finds she loves submitting to her husband’s more dominant, erotic demands.

When Dean surprises her with an Invitation to Eden and promises to fulfill one of her secret fantasies, she can’t wait to find out what’s in store. While on the mysterious island, she’s auctioned off to a rogue pirate and imprisoned as his slave. What he commands of her is shocking, but there is no denying this dark, forbidden stranger, or the exquisite pleasure that comes with her ultimate surrender.

*THE CAPTURE is a unique story connected to both THE MARRIAGE DIARIES series, and INVITATION TO EDEN. This book can also be read as a stand alone.

This book was pure smut - not that there's anything wrong with it - but exhibitionism, which was Dean and Jillian's kink du jour in this installment of the series, isn't my thing, so the whole scenario fell flat to me. Oh well, c'est la vie.

The Capture
The Capture (Marriage Diaries #6) by Erika Wilde
Adult Contemporary/ Erotic
The Marriage Diaries Series is one of my favorite. As an older woman who has been married forever, it’s a pleasure reading about a long-married couple renewing their love for one another, and still getting wild in the sack.

Jillian and Dean have become very close to my heart throughout the series, so I couldn’t wait to read more! This installment, however, didn’t live up to the rest of the series for me. It almost felt like a cheesy episode of Fantasy Island (I’m showing my age!).

I’m a little confused about this book. On Amazon, it seems as if it has it’s own cover, but on Goodreads, it’s listed with the Invitation to Eden books, which makes sense now. Apparently a lot of authors have written about this adult version of Fantasy Island.

I love the concept. But I just found this one wasn’t for me. Dean was a pirate, Jillian was a wench. I don’t really like historical very much, and since this fantasy was a historical fantasy, it just didn’t quite do it for me. They are a very wealthy couple, and the fact that they were able to go to this remote island to act out a fantasy was awesome, but I felt like it was just so elaborate that it must have cost millions.

Don’t get me wrong, The Capture was HOT, and I enjoyed it, but the thing I loved about the series all along was that it was kind of real. This was absolutely not. But I still enjoyed how their sexual exploits have strengthened their marriage and helped the couple really get to know each other. And of course, the hot dirty talking Dean!
“If you dare come while I’m inside of you, I will punish you all over again with the flogger, harder and longer, until you are too weak to even whimper. Do you understand?”

Likes:

•I really love reading about an older couple.
•I like the Fantasy Island concept.
•How well the couple knows and loves each other and it’s still hot as hell.

Dislikes:

•Ridiculously unrealistic.
•The third person felt a bit more detached than previous installments.
•I am not a fan of historical, and this was mostly a pirate/wench story, that just didn’t excite me.

Rating: 3 stars 5 Heat

The Down and Dirty:
I love Jillian and Dean, and the fact that they have been married a long time and have grown kids. I love that they are still totally hot, and that Dean is an amazingly sexy Dom who still loves his wife. But this installment missed it’s mark for me, mostly because I am just not a fan of the pirate/wench fantasy. I still totally recommend the books in the series before this, and plan on reading her spin off, The Players Club.

This is a wild finish to the previous 5 installments of the Marriage Diaries. For me, I appreciated the continuing development of the marital relationship, but more important was the personal development.

At one point, the wife (Jillian) thinks:

“Exhaling a breath, she let her hands fall away to her sides and opened her eyes once again, owning her sexuality, and focusing on the one and only thing that mattered . . . that her [husband] thought she had gorgeous breasts. That knowledge alone made her feel powerful and sexy and confident.”

I believe women owning their sexuality supports them in feeling powerful, sexy and confident. I feel that is a much better place than where most women feel, particularly as they mature. That’s exactly where I want my wife to be!

Thanks Erika for bringing this thought provoking series to my bookshelf.

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

This novella features Ms Wilde's characters from the Marriage Diaries. It is a lovely short story about their weekend getaway to Eden. It is satisfying in both it's depth and it's intensity. It is sexy, passionate and loving. This series of stories set in one place, but written about very different characters by different authors is a wonderful way to make new discoveries.

A perfect evening's reading material. Just add a glass of wine and somewhere cosy to curl up and indulge.

Where is this island and sign me up for it! Erika Wilde has yet again written a fun, sexy fantasy staring Dean and Jillian. Her ability to portray a fun, sexy life post kids with the love of your life is dynamite. I chuckled often and thought the scenes were freaking HOT! Totally worth the time and money to read.

Can I have a pirate? What a fantasy! Dean goes above and beyond to help Jillian live out her fantasy. This entire story is based on that fantasy and builds on Dean and Jillians relationship. Dean is a perfect Captain and Jillian is the surrendering captive. They are becoming adventurous in their play as they escape to "Fantasy Island". The role-playing is so much fun to listen to as Dean and Jillian really get into their roles.

Lia Langola is superb. I really enjoy series that stick with one narrator. Lia is perfect for this narration. She has narrated each of the series and really has helped the two characters grow throughout it. Ms Langola is amazing in how the voices remain the same for each character. I do not think this series would be the same without her.

I have no idea how I missed reading this book when it was first released, as I absolutely adore everything about The Marriage Diaries series, but I somehow did. Of course it was sitting on my kindle just waiting for me to read it.

I absolutely adored this latest installment in the Marriage Diaries. I love that Jillian and Dean have upped the heat level with each new installment, and this was hands down the hottest. I also loved that we got a couple of super tender and sweet moments between Jillian and Dean as well. I highly recommend all 6 stories in the Marriage Diaries series and really hope we will get new stories from Jillian and Dean in the future.

Perfect end to a pretty sizzling series

This whole series got progressively 🔥🔥🔥 and ended on quite the climax (pun intended). If you’re looking to spice up your own marital activity between the sheets, and you’re as rich as all hell - then this series will give you lots of good material to build with lmao.
All in all, it’s a darn good time!

Seems the more parts there are to a thought the less sense they make. Eden an island in the Bermuda triangle, a different venue for those who need a different experience, a place to play out a fantasy. The setting for the author to put all her smut onto paper in story form. An okay read

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel from the first page until the very last. It has been a very rare occurrence that I could just pick up a book and read it in one day; but, I was captivated by these characters and their amazing love story instantaneously.

Pirates

Fantasy after Fantasy, each more daring than the last but it is Dean and Jillian's close connection as husband and wife with the years of trust, love and respect fro each other that make what they do now to feel freeing and daring! Wonderful collection!!!

such a spicy little short story. I think this is a really creative story line that involves role playing between two married people. However when your in fiction world you get to make it come true because you have loads of money where you can escape to an island and a pirate kidnaps you so your husband or black heart buys you, only to make you his wench/slave.

it’s a good 3rd book in the marriage diaries series.

Yes!! Dean and Jillian are back again! Oh, how I adore this couple! And how much I wished there were more stories like theirs about a married couple growing even closer (or closer again), loving each other even deeper while reinventing their whole marriage. Dean and Jillian surely did that with their sexcapades! God, I don’t even want to think that this is the last time I’ve read of them. No, I don’t want them to be mentioned in some spin-off! I want more of those two *alone*, dammit! Maybe when their adult children come to visit and they still cannot control themselves around each other. I can’t exactly remember to have ever been so deeply infatuated with the couple in a book. It’s what makes this series so special to me.

And Lia Langola, the wonderful narrator who also reads this installment, plays a huge part in that. It is truly amazing how she brings Dean and Jillian to life. It is vibrant, believable and feels so real. I mean a woman gives Dean her voice, and yet I found myself drawn to exactly that voice every time Dean spoke. Every single feeling is conveyed just perfectly.

Okay, time to write something about the book itself. While THE CAPTURE belongs to the Marriage Diaries series, it is also part of Invitation to Eden – a series that features different couples from varying authors visiting a mysterious island called Eden where their most secret fantasies are brought to life. The concept of that alone is intriguing to say the least, and with this couple it promised to be even more special. But I digress…

On Eden Jillian is no longer herself, but a slave to the highest-bidding rogue private. His demands are shocking and pushing Jillian out of her comfort-zone. Dean even falls so much out of character – or rather into character as the rogue – that he allows exhibitionism to some extent. That was unthinkable in the previous books and really did surprise me.

This installment is truly a whole lot of different, with Jillian and Dean only rarely being themselves. But when they were, this immensely tender and loving relationship shone through that I grew to love more and more with each new installment. They worship the ground the other is standing on – all the while Dean being this swoon-worthy protective and caring and hot and sexy alpha male. The epitome of one perfect example of the male species and that type of man every woman wishes for as her husband.
No, I’m not going to be jealous of a fictional character…

This addictive and excellently written series is definitely a must read!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Eden delivers again! One of the things I’ve really enjoyed about the series is that of the novellas I have read, the ones that are from one of an author’s series is written so that it can be enjoyed as a stand-alone book yet introduces you to that series and The Capture does this very well.

Dean and Jillian have been married for twenty years and less than a year ago they spiced up their sex life with a bit of BDSM. As part of it, they each have a “fantasies” vase from which they will draw one of their partner’s fantasies and try to fulfill it if they can. In order to fulfill the most recent of Jillian’s fantasies pulled, Dean books them on a weekend getaway to Eden where he has made arrangements for a rather elaborate fantasy – Jillian being claimed by a rogue pirate. While I have only read a few of the books from the Invitation to Eden series, this is the first that has involved role play and it was great. The staff – and possibly other guests – did a wonderful job of recreating the pirate-filled tavern where Jillian was auctioned off, not only did she fall into her role but I felt the realistic nature of the role-play scene. As Dean embraced his role as Black Heart so thoroughly it was easy to get swept up in the story right along with Jillian. I loved that Jillian and Dean showed that twenty years of marriage did not equate stale sex because the sex scenes are HOT! Shiver me timbers and all my girly parts! I look forward to reading more from the Invitation to Eden series as well as checking out Ms. Wilde’s The Marriage Diaries series.

“Welcome to Eden, where reality is whatever you wish it to be.”

Erika Wilde has done it again with this spicy adventure for two of my favorite characters, Jillian & Dean Noble. Like Jillian, we go from the modern day to a pirate island, where Black Heart is known as a rogue pirate who always gets what he wants. Now, it seems the only thing he wants is Jillian as his captive to do with as he pleases.

While we are given a vivid description of this new world, the plot is a vacation filled with fantasies, tension, banter, laughs and above all trust that neither would do anything to damage their relationship just as Dean had said to Jillian when they first went to The Players Club in The Invitation.

10/10 would recommend whenever you just need a quick read where you know there will be a HEA in more ways than one 😉.

I've read a couple of Erika Wilde's book (aka Janelle Davidson)... and I have to say this was not my favorite. I don't know if it was because it was shorter (it seemed shorter) or what... but I just didn't feel the connection with Jillian and Dean that I did some of her other characters. Like Seth & Josie in The Cowboy's Gamble... I can think of that story and still totally recall the characters in my head. I know this is listed as Marriage Diaries #6... so maybe the characters have already had a book or 6? I didn't read the first 5.... so maybe that's where my disconnect is.

That said... I love the ideas behind the Invitation to Eden series. This was the first one that I read where a husband and wife were involved... and I like the idea that the married couple went to experience a fantasy and they actually enjoyed the fantasy together... just the 2 of them. No "cheating" or partner switching. While their were other people/couples in the scenes Jillian and Dean didn't venture out to include anyone else outside of watching and being public. It was nice to read about a happily married couple. I just wish I knew them better.

I have to say this book was not only sexy, it was refreshing. This fun erotic read has a fast pace that keeps your attention from page one. I couldn't imagine a better way to pull off keeping that sizzle in a marriage after twenty years.

The characters are easy to grasp your head around and enjoy. Dean is a man that has the heart of a captain that needs to take control. However, he also has a ravenous pirate soul that has a need to claim his booty. His wife, Jillian, is more than willing to play. The only question is, how long will it take for her to let herself be claimed by her rogue pirate. After all, it is one of her fantasies.

The story has a little bit of everything. The fact that it was about an older married couple willing to plan out and role play made it refreshing. It was enticing and sensual without being overly intense. I’ll definitely be checking out more stories by Ericka Wilde. Loved it!

*The Capture is connected to both The Marriage Diaries series, and Invitation To Eden. This book can also be read as a stand alone*

This story completely blew my mind! I was not expecting what I read and all I can say was I was loving every minute of it!

Jillian and Dean are happily married and there is nothing Jillian loves more then to submit to her husband.

Dean takes his wife on a getaway to Eden and promises her he will fulfill one of her secret fantasies Jillian is beyond excited.

While on the island Jillian is auctioned off.

This book is freaking hot all the way around! Its intense, erotic, and will leave you needing a cold shower!

Ok, first, super awesome that Carly Phillips Gabe Dare is mentioned in this book! Mmmm I loved it. The Pirate fantasy really got me going! It was sexy, fun, engaging! I'm a fan of the Eden books because they deviate from the normal of a series. They are fun and wild. Not to mention this whole Marriage Diaries series is a hot steamy sexy pile of "I wish my marriage was this good" going on!

Dean and Jillian are what every married woman wishes they could have. Their sexy husband wanting to worship their body every second of every day!! If you haven't read this series already, you should! It's so worth it. Quick short reads that are so sexy they will blow you away.

This book is an awesome read or many reasons mostly because Jillian and Dean
are married and have been for 20 years yet they are going out of their way
to spice up their personal lives. Dean sends Jillian the invitation to Eden
and she doesn't meet up with him until she is sold on the auction block. He
then has his way with her as it is her fantasy. The love these two share gives
me hope even though this is a book. Ideas come from all places and this has given
me many ideas for me and the hubbs.....lol .
This book is not meant for those under 18 or if you can't handle sexual situations.
If this is you you are truly missing out on a fantastic book, and series.

Erotic yet romantic

Having enjoyed the first four installments in the Marriage Diary series, then being highly disappointed in installment five, I wasn't sure what to expect from this one, but I enjoyed it. Married couple Dean and Jillian have been working at improving their relationship as well as spacing up their sex life. He plans a weekend at Eden Island, a place where you can live out your private fantasies. It turns into a fun, sexy, slightly kinky weekend for them both. I like this series because it portrays a couple in love as well as lust, who indulge in a little kink and eroticism, but stay monogamous through it all.

The Capture by Erica Wilde was hot, hot, hot. A new book in the Invitation to Eden Series... a wonderful island, a place to play out your fantasies – no matter how erotic the fantasy.

Jillian and Dean have been married forever. They have recently revived their marriage and have been able to indulge in more erotic fantasies. This has lead to Dean buying them a long weekend in Eden. Jillian does not know what fantasy Dean picked from their fantasy jar. A whole long weekend full of erotic fantasies – need I say more?

The Capture is the latest Invitation to Eden story. It also happens to be part of Erika Wilde’s Marriage Diaries series, which follows Jillian and Dean as they rekindle their passion after twenty years of marriage. This story has some smoking hot scenes, like all the Invitation to Eden stories. There is a nice balance between playing out the couple’s sexual fantasy and seeing them as themselves. This is a quick read that is as sweet as it is erotic. I give it 4 cat kisses.
