Who said coming home is easy?

Liz Beacon has life all planned out--prioritized, color-coded and cross-referenced. She long ago traded in the geeky high school nickname, teenage pounds and dysfunctional family for a fab career, killer abs and a man every woman would envy. Okay, so her sex life is non-existent and her almost-fiancé is technically a coworker. Life, if not perfect, is still on track. But then, Liz is called home to Sugar Falls, NH, to prepare her childhood home for sale. She’s spent ten years denying her insecurities and hokey lawn-ornament roots. There’s nothing she’d rather do less than face all she happily left behind, including her embarrassingly one-sided high school crush.

Carter McIntyre has sailed through life on his winsome smile… and by the skin of his teeth. A college drop-out with ADHD, he’s learned it’s safer to play the carefree charmer than step up and take over his uncle’s landscaping business. But then his class valedictorian returns to Sugar Falls and hires him for some home improvements. Now Carter’s wondering if it’s too late--to grow up, take a chance and win over the only girl who ever believed in him…

Never boring, always something happening

It shows just how people really are with ADHD. How they jump from one thing to another with a single person in mind and the antics they come up with. The frustration of love when you don't know how to show it.

Good read

I enjoyed the second book in this series. Liz and Carter are endearing as they both work through their fears and insecurities which stand between them and their HEA. Carter in his role as the bad boy who really is a good guy is the best thing about the book. Liz is a bit limp, but that's her insecurity, and she is also determined and smart. Her super organization will be good for Carter. We can tell she'd be perfect with a little of his backbone. One of the best things about the book is the humour. I found myself laughing out loud at several scenes. The 'grannies' are hilarious without being too cute. Matter of fact, that may be what the author does best: write these small town love stories without making them too saccharin or silly. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

Planning

Liz loves to organize everything. From day to day to her whole life being mapped out. Carter comes back after serving in the military. These two meet and it is all sparks. Love this whole series. Read all 4. Awesome.

Elizabeth has come home to help her parents in getting her childhood home ready to be sold. Since she left town she was what you would call a chubby highschool Wiz Kid and the highlight of her life was tutoring her high school crush in Math, now she is a new woman. The new Elizabeth Beacon is now, Liz, a mover and shaker who's on the road to success. The only problem is when she comes home she realizes: one her parents have hired, Carter McIntyre, her high school crush, to help and two its her freaking high school reunion. Now she's spending time with the one man that she never could have and the more they're together the more the sparks fly and she's wondering if she's going to stay in this town and be with the man she wants or will she leave this town in the dust again and head back to where she comes from? Does the city still have everything she wants or is she finding everything she wants is really in her small home town?
I love this book it was a sweet and yet funny contemporary romance that draws you in and makes you feel like you're there with the characters it has you rooting for them and wanting to smack them upside their heads at the exact same time. I hope that you will read this book and enjoy it as much as I have.

5 Stars!

I loved this book. It was sweet, emotional, heartwarming, and funny with a dash of sexiness on the side. This book was beautifully written and flowed well. I could connect with and feel the characters. I love when an author makes the story really come to life and this author had totally done that. Like book one, I absolutely cannot wait for the next in the series.

This is Liz and Carter's story. Liz is back in her hometown to help pack up and sell her childhood home. Not having such a great school experience, the one highlight was her long time crush, Carter. When she runs into him again, she realizes the torch she has help for him still burns bright. Carter always liked Liz. Once he reconnects with her, he has to have her and wants to prove to her to give him a chance. When obstacles get in their way, will they be able to push through? Will Liz be able to open her heart? Can Carter make Liz believe he wants her for good? Can these two find a happy ending?

I loved both Liz and Carter. I am a sucker for these types of stories. I love when a couple get a second chance to make things right. And Carter... swoon!

I highly recommend this book and author!

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was able to connect with the characters. The story has laughs, betrayal, sweet love and heartbreak.

This is Liz and Carter’s story. Liz is back in town to help her parents get her childhood home ready to sell. She has a list of things to do so she can get back to her life. Carter is over to give an estimate on work for the house. He has wanted Liz for years. She wanted him in high school but after an incident she believes he never wanted her. Can she spend time with him without falling for him? Can he convince her to give him a shot at her heart? Or will misunderstandings, a tragic incident and hurt feeling break them apart before they truly have a chance to be together?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. The four ladies are funny and keep you entertained with the stories and funny moments.

I highly recommend this book, this series and the author. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.

Really liked reading this book about Liz and Carter they where so made for each other the only thing is I think it took them both a little longer to realise that they loved each other, sometimes Liz's plans got to me all I could think of was live your life forget the plans, Carter brought the outgoing side of Liz which was nice you got to see the Beth he knows from high school.

A really cool book, it waa great to read and look forward to reading book 3.

A second chance at love is what awaits Liz when she heads home. She’s there to get her childhood home ready for sale. Her parents are traveling and have hired Carter as the carpenter. Liz tutored Carter in high school and had a schoolgirl crush on the popular bad boy. Meddling grandparents, humorous situations pulled together with great writing make this book another winner in the Betting on Romance series.

This was such a cute story of love, life, and hope. The heroine was adorable and funny as she set out on a new path in life. With an exceptional cast of secondary characters adding humor and love, it was a well rounded story.
Told in the third person, with an overall great story line, I enjoyed the read.

Better!

In the first book of the series I was a bit disappointed in the story. This one was a lot better. The characters were very well written and the story funny and sweet.
